Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

Morning ladies!

It''s starting to hurt when I sleep on my back, even though I''m constantly turning onto my side I find myself flopping over again. I don''t know WHY it hurts, but it does!

Blushing: I have the belly book, and seriously, I haven''t done ONE bit in it! I haven''t even written my name inside. Then I didn''t start doing weekly pics until week 15, so I have a bunch of blanks.
1.gif

Tao: love the names! My cousin just named her boy Evan Patrick in March! It''s funny you were contemplating "Ethan" because I always forget the new baby''s name, is it Evan or Ethan? I have no idea why I have such a hard time with it. The sex of your baby I''m guessing is.... boy? I reserve the right to come back and change my mind!

Robbie: so sorry for all the issues with L&D this weekend, I can''t even imagine how you felt! Yay for the car seat bases!!

Fiery: I had a dream about you last night- weirdest thing. We were in a restaurant and totally paranoid you were going to go into labor, THEN we were on a cruise ship and you WERE in labor. It was nuts. Even in my dream I was thinking, "Why am I dreaming this?" Then again, I had a dream our dog was floating on some wooden plank out in the flooded streets wearing a fisherman''s outfit- complete with hat, so my dreams aren''t too normal lately.

Indy: I just did my quad screening last week- I''m only 29, so there''s no real reason WHY, no concerns or things that may cause cause for alarm, but I just wanted it done for peace of mind. Although there is such a high false positive, I guess we''ll see what happens when I get my results this week.

robbie: yes, put me down for girl! I''m guessing based on how your cute belly looks!

blushing: you must still be on cloud 9..how''d the 2nd blood test go? when is your first official dr. visit--I''m so excited for you!
Hi Janinegirly! YES - I''m still on cloud 9!!! Sometimes I feel like it''s sunk in and other times I still can''t believe it. I think it''s hard too, becuase so far I feel fine. My bb''s are bigger and sore and I''m definitely feeling tired earlier than usual each night, but other than that, I don''t have any other symptoms. Oh and TMI, but I''ve been constipated for the past week - that''s normal right?

My first ultra sound is on July 2nd...DH and I really want to see what''s going on in there! But, I must admit that I am nervous too!

Robbie- Sorry for your scare! Glad to hear all is well with the babe...I can't believe how close you are! Thanks for the suggestions, I definitely need to pay more attention to what I'm eating. We're planning on telling our parents Saturday night, assuming all goes well with the US this week!

Tao- Great wedding pics; thanks for sharing. Oh, and I love your names!

Fiery- Congrats on being term and good luck with your internal.

Question for everyone- when did you start using your doppler at home? Where did you order from?

8wk0d

Blushing- sadly the constipation is normal. You can help it a bit by eating more fiber and staying well-hydrated. Does your prenatal have a stool softener? If not, you might want to switch to one that does.

Robbie-Yes, ladyscaping lol. FI helped me out at the end. I think he felt sorry for me. He came in to the bathroom to get his hair stuff and he could not stop laughing so he offered to help. LOL

Amber-That is hilarious! Maybe I''m sending over my so freakin'' scared vibes to you and now its affecting your dreams too! LOL

BB-Constipation is normal and it totally sucks. Drinking lots of water and walking really helped me relieve constipation. It went away for me in 2nd tri and has come back recently.

Am-Thanks! I didn''t get a doppler but just wanted to mention that if you can''t hear anything until weeks 12-15, that''s totally normal.

yup, don''t worry about no symptoms, although it sounds like you do have them! I had zero symptoms pretty much the whole way and worried for no reason. No m/s, no big bubbies unfortunately (can you tell I''ve been watch Real Housewives of NJ?), and as things progressed, barely a kick! Giant belly though.

Can''t wait for your first appointment, and it''s normal to be nervous. I was a basket case up til the first appointment--that was the hardest part for me...waiting 2 long weeks!

OK - so nothing out of the ordinary then - that''s good! BTW - I love the Real Housewives! I think NY is my fave, but I''m definitely getting into NJ too. I can''t wait for tomorrow''s nite''s show to air - looks like there''s a huge cat fight! :)

blushing-I lovvvve RH of NYC. The NJ one scares me a bit, but of course got sucked in watching the ridiculous drama :).

sorry for threadjack everyone!

I just found out my BFF is pregnant today!! She''s due 2/22 (exactly three months after me) and I''m so excited!!!!!!!!!!

Robbie: I''d like to guess a girl for you - just because your bump is so pretty.

I just found out my BFF is pregnant today!! She''s due 2/22 (exactly three months after me) and I''m so excited!!!!!!!!!!
Amber - that''s awesome!! My BFF told me she was pregnant a week before I found out I was. I told her last week - she''s due two weeks ahead of me!!!!! I''m so excited too!!!!!!!! This is her second baby so, I''m sure I''ll have a TON of questions. Plus, my other BFF is a L&D nurse who just had her second baby - I know I''ll be going to her for advice too!
36.gif

Blushing, it''s really fun to experience it with someone close to you, ya know? She''s glad I''m ahead of her, but not too much as to forget all the crap bits of first tri, but enough to warn her of gigantic nipples that pop out randomly!

Amber, that''s so fun! It''s been great for me having a bff who''s pregnant at the same time as me! I''ve also had some really weird, super vivid dreams this prengnacy!

Am, I never got a doppler, so no help here.

Blushing, I remember waiting for that first u/s was killer! Hang in there, this is probably the hardest part! I actually really like the belly book. I only update it about once a month, but it''s not a lot to keep up with or anything. I''ve been religious with taking bump pics from I think 9 weeks on, but I haven''t printed them and put them in the book yet.

Robbie...no rush on my ty card...as I still can''t get our mail. So frustrating! It''ll be exciting if I finally get the key and have tons of mail, but I doubt we will really have much of anything. I just really hope I get the completion coupons from the registries though!

Indy, dh and I decided not to do the quad screen. We knew we wouldn''t terminate, and our risk is low, so it just wasn''t worth the worry for us.

Fiery, you''re lucky you know you''re having your first internal. Mine was a surprise at my 32 week apt! (Way early for them, I think I posted earlier about my new dr. being a bit paranoid/thorough). I absolutely refuse to ask dh to help with the ladyscaping though! I''ve been making due just trying to keep the bikini line shaved since I''ve been going to the pool, and that I just do without really looking as I''m shaving in the shower.

Tao, I can''t remember if I had responded to you yet, but I love your names! I''m going to guess girl for you!

Ugh, so dh and I went to get me enrolled in the military insurance system. That process was easy, but I definitely made things much more complicated by staying on my own insurance for delivery. Basically, I need to pick a ped. soon because the hospital requires it. I was hoping I could be assigned my military ped. now because according to the hospital, it would be okay if my ped. wouldn''t be at the delivery (and the military ped. woudldn''t since it''s a civilian hospital), they just need to know who it is, and baby could be checked out by a ped. at the hospital. But I found out today that I can''t be officially assigned a ped. until the baby is born and enrolled in the insurance system too. So basically, I''m going to have to use my insurance to find a ped., list them on my hospital form and probably go to them for the first few appts. after baby is born, and then switch to a military ped. Not that big a deal, but still a pain in the butt!

Okay, I''m off to check out our new fitness room and hopefully walk on the treadmill for a little.

Amber - that''s hilarious! I can''t believe how far along you are already! Can''t wait for those giant nips - sounds like fun!

Question - I know it''s a little too early to start worrying about this, but what did you ladies use to prevent stretch marks and how early did you start using it? I''ve been hearing different things, but most people have said to start early. Also, I''ve heard good things about Palmer''s (except that it doesn''t smell very good) and Mama bee, by Burt''s Bees - any suggestions??

Peony---I''m guessing boy/girl for you. I''ve got to get at least one right :)

Sabine--Didn''t want you to think I was ignoring you....As soon as I get some time off of work (That doesn''t come from being sent home sick because of morning sickness) I''d love to get together with you. I told my sister about it and she wanted to know if she could welcome you to Virginia also. Not sure what we could possibly do, LOL, but I''m sure we could figure out something fun.

Blushing, I have the palmer''s stretch mark stuff, and you''re right it smells gross. I heard it''s soothing, though. I also have the burts bees stuff, but honestly I forget to put any of it on! Also, the nips, seriously, I hooked one on a door the other day, no idea how.

Sabine: Your pediatrician thing sounds like a nightmare. It''s always the things we don''t thnk are going to be a pain that turn into a huge ordeal.

Tao, now that I''m seeing all the votes for "girl" I want to say girl, too, but I REFUSE!!

Peony, I''m going g/g for you!

Blushing, July 2nd will be here in no time! I agree with Sabine, that waiting for that first u/s is the hardest! Unfortunately, there''s really nothing you can do to prevent stretchies (giving them a cute name helps me hate them a little less, lol). You''ll either get them or you won''t. I''ve found that cocoa butter (I have fruit of the earth) has been pretty good about helping with my itchy dry skin. I know it''s supposed to help fade them as well. I remember using it on a scar on my sister''s back when we were younger.

Am, I was pretty good about eating healthy at the beginning. Not so much any more. I try to get in all the nutrients I need, but I''ve lost complete control with chocolate. It''s just sooo good. Mmmm. I got my doppler around 10 weeks and started using it right away. I got a hi bebe from healthchecksystems.com

Amber, that''s awesome about your bff! It''s so great to be able to go through this with someone you''re close to!

Awe, thanks steel! Now that the stretch mark monster has hit my lower belly, I think it''s only pretty when it''s covered, lol.

Sabine, I gave up shaving the bikini line a while ago. Now I only trim. I get really bad razor burn and ingrown hairs and I can''t imagine dealing with that right after delivery so I''ll just be putting on a pair of shorts if I decide to get into a pool pre-baby this summer. I always wonder if people think I ignore most of what you write since I respond to it on AIM or the phone instead of on here.

Well, the magic 8 ball tells me that the baby is coming next week. It also said it''s a boy. And a girl. Hmmm...I don''t know what I was expecting since it''s the same one that told me it was triplets before my first u/s, lol. I seriously can''t believe that the biggest thing that''s ever happened in my life is happening in a matter of weeks!

too funny with the magic 8 ball. We did the same thing the other day on my sister''s itouch. And it gave us the same responses....

One more bit of information---might make people think I''m having a girl though---my Sims 3 character just gave birth to her first child and it was a girl. HAHA!

Hi ladies! Just a quick post from me- we've been going going going for the past few days. I've got some serious catching up to do this afternoon and evening.

tao- Two major thumbs up to both names! Good classic choices.

Amber- Congratulations to your friend! It'll be fun to have a friend to go through pregnancy with, and you're at the point now where you can give her pointers and good advice.

Robbie- I'm glad your LO was okay! Don't worry about making a few more L&D trips if you need to- much better safe than sorry.

At my weekly doc appt. today, nurse and doc weren't happy with my blood pressure (somewhat high) combined with the fact that I'm swollen like a balloon. They sent me to the lab for bloodwork, and after, an NST in labor and delivery. Baby is nice and wiggly, and I was sent home with a 2 liter jar for a 24-hour urine catch due to having two other symptoms of Pre-E. Hopefully, the urine comes back nice and normal, but we'll see. It's going to be interesting collecting urine for the jug various times in the middle of the night and wee hours of the morning. Hopefully we'll know more by tomorrow.

Oh! I forgot to mention that doc said while I''m not dilated, I''m about 90 percent effaced, which is good news.
1.gif

EBree, hope everything comes back normal. You are so close! So excited for you!!!

EBree I hope everything is ok, and that is GREAT news about the effacement! That is the part of labour that can stall women usually so being so close already is great!!

Ebree--
Hope everything comes back normal tomorrow.
36.gif

for the 100% effacement.
Wow, can''t believe you are so close.

Ebree - hope everything is okay, I got tested as well due to being so swelled up by the end and everything was fine. On the plus side, I''ve lost nearly 60lbs since Daisy was born - so expect to shrink like crazy after the delivery!

Blushing - I used the Vaseline Gel with Cocoa Butter, it was great as it doesn''t absorb very fast and so kept the itchiny and dryness to a minimum. I ended up with one teeny stretch mark (just above where my belly button piercing is) which was a suprise to me as my belly was HUGE by the end. It is mainly genetic though...

I never tried the Burt''s Bees stuff, but I have all their Baby Bee products which are lovely (even the nappy rash cream smells great!)

LOL on the ''ladyscaping'' - the only thing I would watch is shaving/trimming too close, the last thing you want is an episiotomy and regrowing hairs... I don''t speak from experience on that one, but I can just imagine the horror!

Fiery--
You are adorable!
LOL on the ladyscaping.

Robbie--
Sorry about the L&D scare.
Glad to hear that your LO is ok.
You have such a cute bump -- and you are all baby.
Put me down for girl.

Sabine--
Dealing w/ insurances are such a pain.
At least you are dealing w/ it now instead of when the baby is here.

NYCSparkle--
Good luck and lots of contraction dust to you.

Hey ladies. Wow, soo much to catch up on. I have been out of town, so missed a lot. Can''t possibly respond to everyone, so hope it''s okay if I just jump back on.

Father''s Day- I need to get something for DH, he surprised me with earrings on Mother''s Day. Can''t decide if I want to get him a "daddy" present- like the Diaper Dude bag, or something just for him. Need to decide quickly though!

Cello- So relieved you saw the HB. Hope you''re feeling better!

Mela/Pandora/CDT- Thanks so much for the PP tips.

Mandarine, Sabine, Robbie, Fiery- Cute belly shots!

NYCSparkle- Can you bring your cookie madness over to my house? I am so wanting to bake cookies, but my kitchen isn''t unpacked yet.

Tao- I

Isla Olivia Rae! I am currently obsessed with 3 names for our little one. And you can''t go wrong with Evan Alexander, great choice! For no reason, I am going to guess GIRL for you.

Ok, I know I''m missing a ton, but that''s all I can remember off the top of my head. Will try to catch up later.

As for me, busy weekend. We headed out west for a baby shower for me that my BFF''s threw for me. It was a great shower, got to see a bunch of old friends that I miss terribly. Also got to meet my 3 BFF''s new babies! One is 3 months, one is 6 weeks, and one is 1 month. So cute, but SO much work. I am quite content to have my little guy stay put for awhile. It was definitely an eye-opening experience, to say the least.

And had silly emotional breakdown #2. Got on the plane on the way home without snacks. Even when I am not preggo, I have to have food with me when I travel. I get very grumpy and light-headed if I don''t eat, and esp preggo. Well I wasn''t hungry and there was NOTHING in the terminal that I wanted or could have, so all I had was pretzels. I asked the gate attendant and she told me they were serving lunch/snack so I figured I''d be fine. Well of course it was a turkey sandwich (which I couldn''t eat) and a sad pile of iceberg lettuce (which I didn''t want to eat, and besides, this is rabbit food, not real food). But I was starving all of a sudden and I burst into tears. My DH was terrified something was really wrong, and I knew I was being so ridiculous but I couldn''t help it. If we weren''t on the plane, I think I would have had a serious meltdown, throwing myself into my pillow type drama. As it was, I was bawling. So embarrassing! But a bit funny.

Also, think I am having Braxton Hicks. All the time all of a sudden. This is normal right, and doesn''t mean anything? I know they don''t mean labor, and I know most of you 3rd triers have them. These plus the fricking hard-a** kicks the kid is throwing my way have me jumping like a jumping bean in my seat all day. Calm down kid! Momma has to work.

Hope everyone is doing well. Sorry for the selfish post.

Hi ladies!

Hope everyone is doing well!

Blushing - Hello! Soooooo glad to see you here! YAY! As for the consta...BLERGH! I had one major incident with it...and my doc recommended Apricot nectar/juice. It is SOOO much tastier than prune juice and it totally did the trick! Add some ice, and it really isn''t a bad drink at all. I also used the metamucil fiber wafers. The cinnamon flavored ones are pretty decent! Oh, and I LOOOOVE the housewives of NYC. I have all the NJ housewives tivoed...just haven''t watched ''em yet!

Robbie - Sorry about the trip to LD. That does not sound fun. One of my close girlfriend''s had to make weekly trips to the hospital for an NST. For whatever reason, she just couldn''t feel her little guy moving. Long story short, she went full term and he''s absolutely adorable. I know it was pretty nerve wracking for her though. I hope you get some peace of mind soon!

Ebree - Hope the BP is good and the jug o'' urine collection goes alright! I''m thinking non-swelling and LOW bp thoughts for you!! I can''t believe you are almost full term! holy smokes!

Fiery - Hope the doc visit went well!

Sabine - Sorry about the ped mess! UGH! We still haven''t even started really looking for one in earnest. I guess we need to get on that!

Am - I never used a home doppler - I was way too freaked out I wouldn''t be able to find the HB and that''d be bad news bears in terms of anxiety, even though chances are things would be fine. We heard the HB at my doc''s office with a doppler a few days before 11 weeks, which is really early, according to the doc. I think it can be heard pretty reliably around 14 weeks or so - so I don''t know if I''d try it much before that!

Amber - Yay for besties being prego at the same time! My bestie is due 12 weeks after me and it has been such fun and such great support! It rocks! And of course Woofie was wearing a fisherman''s hat. I''m sure he''d be properly attired for the weather. DUH! hehee. I''m sorry about the back pain. I''m just not comfortable on my back anymore at all. I make what DH lovingly refers to as a "pillow fortress" which basically forces me to sleep on my side. It works pretty well!

CC - Hey girl! Glad you made it back alright, despite the horrible lack of food choices on the plane. That is just plane (haha) wrong. As for the BH''s, I know my doc says to call if I get 4 or more in an hour and they don''t go away after hydrating and relaxing. Just to be safe, I''d probably tell your doc about ''em. But again, I''m a bit of a worry wart...in case you haven''t noticed!

Tavo - I love your names, but I''m not committing to boy or girl yet! Too early to tell. Need to see belly pics and such!

Hello everyone else!

As for me, I''m doing well. 28 and 1/2 weeks. HOW DID THAT HAPPEN? Shower invites are here, going out this week. I''m feeling good, other than getting the bejesus kicked out of me! I can actually see my stomach move. Like I said, he''s either going to be a soccer star or a rockette. Either one is good with us. hehee. Had my GD test last Friday, which wasn''t as gawd awful as I''d feared. Still waiting on the results.

Alright, we are off for Peruvian food for dinner. I''m STARVING!!!!
