Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

Ok, super busy day, haven''t had a chance to read through the new posts, but I wanted to put up my belly pic. Here''s my almost full-term (36w6d) belly:

cute bellies!!!

robbie - you remind me of how i looked at at that stage! hmm, wonder if that means you''ll have a girl ;). Enjoy the last few weeks, it''s such a special time (even if you feel uncomfy!)

Thanks Lili!!

Robbie you look so cute! It''s like you swalled a volleyball!!! Such a cute bump!!!

Good point! Thank you NF!

Do you not have a glider at all in the nursery?

We have a rocker but honestly we hardly used it because I couldn''t feed/nurse them in it.
Thanks for sharing that! I''ve kind of been stressing over how much time I would spend on it!...so was looking for mainly comfort. Now that I know this, I''ll look for something comfy but that can easily be changed to our master bedroom when we''re done (so something that looks like a chair and less like a glider).

Thanks

awww, what great bellies you ladies have....

sabine you look great for 32 weeks!!!

mandarine you are so tiny and cute!

robbie you are one of the cutest preggos ever!!

Nursing chairs I want to put my recommendation out there again for a La-Z Boy Rocker recliner. Heaven for nursing!!

awwww you guys and your bumps. You''re so cute! :-)

I went to my appointment today. I met my midwife (though any of them really could deliver me). She was nice, so that was good. She was really informative and explained different testing and really spent a lot of time with us, so that was good. We couldn''t hear the heartbeat with the doppler because it''s still a bit early, but she said my uterus feels good. DH and I both asked if it would be possible for us to have an ultrasound given what I''ve been through with the class C drug, more than a week of a high fever, chest x-ray, pneumonia, etc. I''ve just basically been really worried that the baby has been affected.

She said she''d try to schedule me something and I told her that, after taking three weeks off unpaid, that I really would have a hard time scheduling something unless they did a late Friday afternoon. Well, she is such a doll. She managed to get us downstairs to radiology and they fit us in.

I was so nervous I thought I was going to have a heart attack. Coupled with the fact that I thought my bladder was going to explode, I was so nervous. She put the wand on and we saw the baby! At first I was a little apprehensive because my biggest fear was that it was in there, but stopped growing or something. Well, we saw the heartbeat and it was jiggling around and it raised a little arm bud at us. I started crying I was so excited.

So, after all the crapola that I''ve been through in the past few weeks, the bambino held on for us and is doing really well. They put me at 9w3d based on LMP, but 9w6d based on the ultrasound. I gotta get my book out and see when we BD so I can start my crazy gender predictions. :-)

Sabine
Yes I am still breastfeeding. My supply actually went down a lot after getting pregnant, and I am barely keeping up with her. I hope to at least make it to a year.
Sounds like your appt with the new OB office went well.
You look great for 32 weeks.

Mandarine
You have a cute little bump.
The rocker is cute, but so expensive. I never got a rocker for the nursery. I just nurse her on the bed with lots of pillows behind my back.

robbie
Can you be any cuter. You are so adorable.

cello
Yay for seeing the heartbeats and the little bean is doing well.

Q - how old is Meena again?

Robbie - you look great!

Mandarine - your bump is just adorable. FWIW, we didn''t get a rocker - didn''t want anything that could smush dog tails. We have an Ikea Poang chair in our living room that is great if we want to sit somewhere with some motion, but I''m not sure if that would work that great with twins either.

Sabine - you look great! How are you holding up after the move?

Blen
She is 10.5 months.

Hi Ladies,

I''m going to try to catch up with everyone tomorrow. I was in a training all day today that was really boring and then we went out to dinner. Mr. Fiery isn''t feeling well, I think he''s coming down with a cold so I''m going to the pharmacy to get some medicine and then heading to bed.

Here''s my 35w5d belly photo. I don''t know if you can tell whether she''s dropped or not but I feel like she has or is in the process. I''m feeling a lot of pressure, especially when I walk.

TTY tomorrow

I lurk on here a lot, but virtually never post as I don''t have babies and never will - but I love watching this thread literally grow. I simply had to chime and say in my humble opinion Robbie is having a girl!!

aww...everyone has such cute bellies.
1.gif

i went to my weekly appointment today and still nothing...i was sure something was going on since i feel so much pressure and cramping, but no my little sweet pea is comfy in there
9.gif
. my doc thinks she''ll be about 7 lbs 4 oz.....which is a relief since my son was 8lbs. 1oz.

somehow i lost 4 lbs since last week---i don''t know how since i''ve been baking cakes, cookies and cupcakes like the end of the world is coming...and not just baking them, but eating them in large amounts
9.gif
. it was so muggy here yesterday and i made ch. chip cookies from scratch w/the oven on. dh came in the house and tried to stop the cookie madness, but i was on a cookie making mission.....he saw the cookie madness happening and turned the ac on full blast...and then watched me as if i might collapse in the kitchen....maybe thats me nesting since i hate to clean
27.gif

tonight we are going out to a nice dinner. i''m hoping it''ll be our last date night before the baby, but we''ll see.

have a great weekend.

Robbie, I''m guessing girl :-)

have a great weekend.
I wouldn''t set much store by that - I was only fingertip dilated after well over 30 hours of strong contractions and my waters having broken. Even the midwife was shocked.

I went for a pretty long walk (well long by 9 months pg level - otherwise not very
9.gif
) with my parents on the Wednesday and my waters broke on the Friday, so I recommend the walking for setting thinks off - or building IKEA flatpacks seems to do the trick!

Baking... OMG, the baby is definitely on its way now!

In the meantime, enjoy the quiet and get as much sleep as you can - you won''t get more than 3 hours for many weeks to come!

So, we finally are done with names. We both agreed to stop looking because we both are in love with the two names we have picked....

We''ve also decided to not really tell anyone in real life---because people we know will just criticize them or nitpick them. But we never said anything about posting on boards :)

We find out the sex of the baby June 26th (I wish I could fast forward to that date!)

Girl:

Isla Olivia Rae (We threw in Olivia at the last second and for some reason this made my husband love the name...Rae is named after my Uncle)

Boy:
Evan Alexander (He came up with the name all by himself! He had wanted Ethan at first but I think it''s like number 3 in popularity right now--so he changed it to Evan)

I know I haven''t posted any pictures yet...but anyone wanna make guesses to what I''m having?

I''m 18 weeks 3 days today!

1st child, not really showing.

Heartbeat has always been in the 155-175 range.

Morning sickness was persistant through 16 weeks but has tapered off a bit to just 3 times a week instead of 3 times a day.

No real cravings currently. Early in the pregnancy all I wanted was Grapes and Chili.

Not sure what other info is needed to guess the sex....

I just posted some wedding pictures on the bride board, if anyone is interested.

They are tiny--so I apologize!

Tao, I think we are going to use Evan for a boy too. How exciting, you are so close to finding out!

Cello, sorry to hear you''re still feeling sick! That''s awesome that you got to see the little one moving around though! I''m so jealous of everyone who''s gotten to see their little one moving. At our 8 week u/s baby didn''t move at all and at our 18 week one he/she wasn''t much more active. I think we got an ear scratch and maybe a yawn, lol.

Fiery, which car seat design did you end up going with? You were looking at snugrides, right? We have the safeseat in eclipse.

Anchor, yay for hearing the heartbeat!!! Sounds like your back pain is pretty bad if they''re going to pull you from work. Did they say if it''s SPD? That''s great that you''ll be able to take the time off of work without having to worry about losing your paycheck though! Man, I wish I lived in Canada!

Mandarine, I can''t believe you''re 19 weeks already! Since you''ve got twins in there, you could actually be more than halfway already! Don''t twins usually come earlier? As for fathers day, I''m not doing anything cute, but the baby and I did get DH gift cards to Bed, Bath and Beyond so he can get the rain shower head he''s been wanting for forever. For mother''s day he got me a nursing tank that I picked out for myself. Yay for buying the cribs!!! Seriously, I LOVE it, but obviously I''m biased. Yay for DH feeling movement! Thanks for the belly pic compliment, yours is looking so cute!

CDT, glad to hear your pain is gone!

Sweet Pea, you can sign up to get recall emails from CPSC.gov. Good luck with your salon opening!

Fiery, too funny about your DH not realizing that fathers day is next weekend. He''s right though, you could have a baby by then! You''re looking great by the way! Hope you''re feeling better now.

Tao, your wedding looks like it was beautiful! Can''t believe you''re 18 weeks already! I''m loving both of your name choices. How do you pronounce the girl one? Iz-la or Eye-la? Either way, it''s beautiful! Less than 2 weeks til you know! I don''t really have a feeling for you either way, but I''m going to guess girl.

Ebree, awe, that''s so nice that your friends gave you a surprise shower at dinner!

Am, sorry you''re feeling so tired! Maybe try snacking throughout the day on something healthy so you don''t feel bad about how often you''re eating. How about carrot sticks or something? When are you planning to spill the beans?

Steph, yay for healthy cravings! Lately this kid has been craving sugar, sugar and more sugar. He/she had 3 donuts yesterday. I was good and only had one, lol.

Blushing, I don''t know about websites to keep track of pregnancy milestones, but you might want to check out The Belly Book. I don''t have it, but Sabine does and it looks pretty cute. It has places to put belly shots in it.

Phoenix, yay for free stuff from friends! We''re using the old dresser from our room in the nursery as well. It matches the crib perfectly and is actually the reason I wanted to get a wood and white crib. SIL gave us her old changing table and glider, so the crib is actually the only new piece of furniture we have. My parents got us the crib and mattress as a shower gift, so we were really lucky.

Mela and Pandora, thanks for coming back and sharing with us about what the first few days will be like! I was reading in Your Pregnancy Week by Week about Baby Blues vs. PPD vs. PPP and I made DH read through it as well. I''m definitely worried about developing PPD since I''m at an increased risk for it, but I feel pretty confident that DH will be able to recognize the signs and get me help if I''m unable to get it for myself.

Qtiekki, good luck at your appointment! Thanks for the belly pic compliment! Meena is so cute! I just want to pinch her little cheeks every time I see your avatar!

Natalina, yay for stranger comments!

Sabine, you look so cute!

Janine, does that mean I should put you down for girl?

Awe, thanks, Puffy!

Thanks, Blen! George is so adorable! I love seeing the baby avatars of the PS mommies!

NYCSparkle, reading your post made me want to bake brownies. I really don''t think natural induction methods cause anything to happen that your body wasn''t ready for anyway, but so far today I''ve eaten a bunch of pineapple, DTD with DH and baked brownies (I think baking should count as a natural induction method, lol). I''m definitely not at the end of my gestational rope yet (saw that on a siggy pic on the bump, lol), but I''m so excited to meet my baby and I''m super impatient! Here''s to hoping you go soon! (and me right behind you

Lots to tell. Made a trip to L&D on Friday for a NST after feeling decreased movement Thursday night and again on Friday morning. I actually called the after hours number around 10pm on Thursday night, but no one ever called me back. I was pissed, but after drinking a ton of juice, baby did start moving enough so that I calmed down and went to bed. It was the same thing the next morning even though I had a giant glass of OJ with breakfast and a coffee with a ton of sugar to try to get things moving. When the test was done, the nurse came in and said, Oh, LO must be moving more since you came in. I told her that I hadn''t felt any movements that caused the heart accels during the NST. It kind of freaked me out that I''m not feeling a lot of what''s going on. She tried to explain that later in pregnancy you''ll feel more subtle movements like rolls and nudges instead of kicks and punches, but that''s all I''ve been feeling for a while now. I literally wasn''t feeling anything. I have a feeling that probably won''t be our last trip to L&D for an NST. At least they were all really nice and I was in and out pretty quickly.

On Saturday I had to be at work at 6:30 (got there at 6:15 though) for a photo shoot of one of our products that I was running. Of course it wasn''t ready (they still had to install some pieces and they were finishing the paint job) and the photographer was a little late. I didn''t end up leaving until 4:40. It was such a long and boring day. It took him FOREVER to light each shot and it was annoying that there was nothing I could do to speed it along. He really needs to get an assistant so he can just direct someone else on how to move the lighting while he''s looking through the camera. It would have gone so much faster. By 4:40 I was the only employee still there (the shop shift had ended at 2). The photo shoot was actually over about an hour before that, but it took the photographer forever to put his equipment away. He said he was fine and I could leave, but I didn''t feel right leaving him alone in the shop. If something would''ve happened I''m sure it would''ve been my head for not supervising him. After that DH and I went to the birthday party of a friend''s son. We didn''t get home til about 8 and I fell into bed right away. Apparently I''m unable to sleep soundly anymore though and I was up every few hours from the time I went to bed, sometimes to pee and other times just worrying about random things I have to get done.

Today DH and I installed our car seat bases in our cars and had them checked at the fire station. We didn''t do such a great job on his (we put it in the middle using the seat belt and it needed to be on the passenger side using latch), but we actually did a decent job on mine except for not using the locking clip. We''re going to leave the carrier in DH''s car from now on since that''s the car we''ll be coming home from the hospital in. Makes it seem a little more real!

Ok, time to go finish my shower thank yous. My shower was only about a month ago...oops. Oh, and to finish packing that hospital bag!

Wow, Robbie..that''s a long post! LOL!

That''s scary about not feeling the baby moving around. But thankfully everything turned out okay.

Oh, and Isla will be pronounced Eye-La.

Robbie when I was carrying DS towards the end of my pregnancy I went to the ER because I didn''t feel him move for a long time. Turns out there just wasn''t a lot of room in there for him, I was all baby he came 3 weeks early and was still 7 pounds, or 6 pounds 14... Anyway, sounds like all is fine with your LO. I can''t wait to hear what you are having. I have to switch my vote, because you look just like I did when I had DD. So switch me to those that are voting team PINK.

Tao, love your names! I''m going to guess girl based on the higher heart rate and the morning sickness.
3.gif
I will have to check out your pics. I need to do a sex poll soon since we''re finding out the day before you.

Robbie, glad everything is good! With the decreased fetal movement did you think about using your Doppler at home? Of course a strong heartrate with reduced fetal movement could still signal trouble under some circumstances.

Tao, there was a ton I had to respond to! I always feel so bad when I don''t respond to everyone, like I''m ignoring them or something.

Kaleigh, ooh, maybe this baby will come 3 weeks early too! I''d be ok with becoming a mommy this week (as I sit here eating my pineapple for breakfast) :).

Peony, I haven''t used it since I started feeling movement. Everything I''ve read has said that you shouldn''t use it if you suspect that something''s wrong since only a trained professional knows what they''re really looking for with the heartbeat to tell if the baby''s in distress. I know with the NST they wanted baby''s heart rate to accelerate a certain number of times during the test. Our doppler doesn''t have the digital read out, but even if it did, I''d still feel better having a professional tell me everything''s ok. I loved having the doppler early on though to make sure the baby was still there and kickin. The sense of security it gave me may have been false, but I really don''t think I could''ve made it through early pregnancy without it.

Hi Robbie!

Thanks for the tip about The Belly Book - I''ll check it out when I go to the bookstore later this week.

I''d also like to play along with everyone else and put my bets on you having a girl. I don''t know too much about your pregnancy, but Team Blue seems a little top heavy so, I''m going with Team Pink!
5.gif

NYC-Sending some majah dust your way!!!

Tao-Love the names! Olivia is one of my absolute favorite names (too bad that''s FI''s ex-gf''s name). Congrats on 18 weeks! Based on what you wrote, its hard for me to guess. The 155-175 range makes me think girl since my girl has been in that range the entire time. However, I didn''t have any m/s and it seems like you are craving sour more than sweet which makes me think boy...hmmmmm I''m going with girl
1.gif

Robbie-I''m really glad that all it took was a visit to the DR. to get LO moving. I find the movements now to be so weird and painful. She has this thing now where she rolls her heels into my side and it hurts so much. I don''t get kicks anymore at all though. Sometimes it takes 45 minutes or so for me to feel her 10 movements. Other times it feels like all she does is move all day. We ended up going with Chicco because one of the two styles we wanted they had at BRU. Don''t feel bad about the thank you notes...I haven''t done mine either
emembarrassed.gif
. I did the work thank yous but not for the shower that my MIL gave oops.

~~~
I got a really cute message from FI this morning. He normally leaves me messages on my calendar so that it goes off with an alarm. Sometimes the messages are sweet like ''I love you'', sometimes its silly like ''get off the phone and get back to work.'' Anyway, today''s message said ''our baby is full term today! Yay!'' I don''t have the heart to tell him she''s actually full term next week
25.gif
.
Today is my first internal. It was an adventure getting ready for this appointment if you know what I mean. I''m looking forward to hearing about my progress, if any. I also have a whole list of questions to ask her. She''s going to wonder what happened to her patient since I hardly ever ask any questions lol
Oh and we put together the bassinet
face23.gif
. It is soooo cute and it fits perfectly right next to my side of the bed without having to move any furniture around. We also purchased the car seat and the extra base. I was going to install it this week but decided to wait until we''re a little closer. I want to make sure the cars are nice and clean before installing.
Anyway, I''m 36 weeks today! Four more weeks to go!
robbie: yes, put me down for girl! I''m guessing based on how your cute belly looks!
blushing: you must still be on cloud 9..how''d the 2nd blood test go? when is your first official dr. visit--I''m so excited for you!
Hi ladies! Just popping in with a quick question...
My doctor talked about the quad screening at my appointment last Friday. I am coming up on 15 weeks so I need to decide if I want to get this done. I know it''s been discussed here several times, but I can''t find it! Does anyone know around-about what page it''s on?
I know it''s a very personal decision, just curious to read the discussions that have been had about it. Thanks!
Fiery, that''s the weird thing, apparently LO moves around in there a lot more than I know about. I''m feeling more movement now, but I wonder how much I''m actually still not feeling. Weird. Ooh, yay for the Chicco! We got to play with one at our child care class and it was really nice! I actually finished my thank yous last night! Well, the writing part at least. I still have to address them and get stamps to mail them. I''m guessing you''re talking about ladyscaping? LOL. I read a post somewhere about how we should all make sure everything is trimmed up because otherwise the locchia will glue everything together in an uncomfortable mess after delivery. Definitely don''t want that! Since I can no longer see my nether regions, I had to get DH to help me this morning. It was definitely hysterical. Yay for a put together bassinet! I wish I would''ve vacuumed my car before we took it to get the seat checked. It''s in need of a serious cleaning. I did clean out my glove compartment though! Apparently that hadn''t been done in a really long time. I found my original driver''s license (circa 1999) in there as well as directions on how to get back from DH''s apartment.
Put me down for girl also.
You got a scare. Glad everything is ok. It''s common that the baby slows down close to the end b/c of the lack of room.
