Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

just quickly!

Thanks everyone for the ideas!!. Not sure what I''ll do yet, but I''m thinking a nice breakfast (he loves weekend brekfasts!) with a card...I can''t think of anything too creative and since I didn''t really plan for it, I just don''t have enough time!!

Fiery I just did what I haven''t done in a really long time "chuparme la pepa del mango"...lol...that sounds horrible, but I''ve had this thing to eat a mangoever since you mentioned it!! It was YUMMMM-O!!!!!!
18.gif
I cut it up and had it with plain yogurt...yumm

Thanks for all the well-wishes everyone. I''m slowly but surely getting there.

Amber, omg, this is exactly how i''m feeling. I went to the doctors (I live in the city) and it''s a whole one block away. I was so exhausted when I got home. One freaking block. I''ve almost passed out on the way to the kitchen and we live in a tiny apartment. I don''t even have the energy to breathe half the time. It''s miserable. I have this contraption that is for steaming my pores when I give myself facials. I''ll try it today because it''s just straight steam and you''re breathing it anyhow.

Hope everyone is doing well!

I have my first appointment tomorrow. Wish us luck. We are plenty nervous, for obvious reasons. Being this sick has been a monumental worry.

Cello, I can relate, trust me. I often used wheelchairs to get around our house growing up when I''d have an attack. Not being able to breathe affects every single part of you, even makes it hard to eat. I hope your appointment goes well tomorrow. Just rest, rest rest, and try not to talk too much or do anything that requires your normal oxygen intake! Drink a lot of water, dehydration is the absolute worst. Does your head hurt, too?

Hey, girls. Hope everyone is doing well today. I just went to the grocery store and loaded up on all kinds of healthy things....lots of fruit and veggies and yogurts. This baby is craving HEALTHY stuff (so far at least)! Our first ultrasound is next Tuesday...I am so nervous and excited! Anyway, hope everyone is doing well!

*warning* total Mandarine centered post...

Just sold my old living room set on Craigslist (it took one day) and bought the two cribs!!!!!!!!!!!
36.gif
36.gif

We didn''t want to get the cribs until I had that room emptied out (I''m moving my office into the old "Mandarine''s tv room" and the nursery will be where my office is now)...

I know it''s early, but I want to start the nursery early before I get too uncomfortable!

yayyy!!! I am so excited!!! It just makes it so real!!. I bought the same crib Robbie has (Thanks again Robbie!) and I love it!!!
30.gif
30.gif
30.gif
I really couldn''t justify spending too much on them...even if it was one baby!. I rather splurge on other things
27.gif
, so these are perfect...modern, simple and just beautiful!

<---- 19 weeks today!!! I felt the slightest little kick on the outside yesterday for the first time!!! I screamed to DH, he ran over to put his hand on the belly...there was another little tiny kick (it was Baby A), but then the show was over!. So exciting!

M~

Aww, Mandarine I really like that crib! It does make it real to get the room started. I can''t wait and will probably start on mine the minute I know what I''m having!

Hi All!
35.gif

I received my BFP last Friday and since then had two bloodtests to check my HCG and progesterone levels. Everything came back looking great so, I thought I''d poke my head into this thread for the first "official" time!
36.gif
I was told to schedule my first ultrasound at the end of next week - I think my doctor might be on vacation, so it might be the following week.

I honestly do not know where to begin with all this, but I''m sure I''ll learn quickly (esp. with your help and advice)!

Is there a website you all use or would recommend for keeping track of the pregnancy milestones, etc? I used Fertility Friend when I was TTC and I see they have a pregnancy site as well, but was wondering if there was something better I could try.

Anyway, it''s GREAT to finally be here with all you!
35.gif

Mandarine and/or Robbie, which crib is that? I''m going to be doing my shopping next week. Serendipitously, a friend just offered me a glider which is totally upholstered (I think -- it''s tan microsuede so it''s got to go with everything, so I don''t really care what it looks like since it''s free!) and the Arm''s Reach Co-sleeper. We''re going to paint an old dresser to match our new furniture. So that just leaves the crib and changing table!

Sorry I''ve been MIA. It''s the last week of school. Just two more days (yes, sadly, we have to go in on Saturday).

I really, really appreciate everyone''s suggestions for middle names for Claire (it turns out DH does want to spell it the French way, which makes sense actually). We''re still not set on anything but hopefully soon . . .

Cute crib Mandarine!!

Blushing, I like BabyCenter, you have groups for your due date months with message boards (I''m a lurker) and they send you weekly updates on what the fetus is up to now, size etc. :)

Also

WELCOME!

Welcome Blushing!!!!!!!!!

I like thebump and babycenter!.

Phoenix, the crib is the Olivia crib from Walmart...I know, Walmart of all places!. I debated whetehr or not to get it, but it has great reviews...I know Walmart is always a controversial vendor, but whatever...they make a pretty darn cute crib!

ETA: thanks for posting that code

Super sonic busy here, but wanted to pop in and say HI to everyone!
35.gif

OMG BLUSHING! I''ve been praying for you and your BFP, and your day has come. YIPPEE!!!! So happy for you. I really truly am. This is the most remarkable experience, and I KNOW you''re going to fly through it with grace, patience and wonder. Congrats congrats congrats my friend!!!
36.gif

___

I just want to pop in also to say that I''m now 11 days post-partum, feeling GREAT, and have a few things to share.
- The first week is the hardest. BF (if you choose to do it) is really tough to get the hand of, and its painful at first. REST ASSURED it gets easier. I''m now really enjoying it and it doesn''t hurt anymore. Also, I was taking regular tylenol or advil for my C-Section pain, which helped me get through the nipple pains. If you are in pain, take a little something to get you through.
2.gif

Also, for those of you deciding on what BF''ing pillow to buy. I second Pandora''s reco for the "My Brest Friend". I have it and the Boppy, and the "Brest Friend" wins hands down. The nice thing about it is that it clips around your body, so that if you need to get up for some reason (explosive barf) then you can without your pillow falling off. It just allows you a bit more independence than the other styles because technically, you can walk around with it on - although you will look like a "popcorn, peanuts, carmel corn" vendor. lol.

Also, The nurses told me that Day 5 PP was the hardest for some reason. I think days 3-7 were really tough and there were a lot of hormonal tears of frustration. Just know it''s normal, and its probably the hormones, and a hot shower will do wonders for you (even just a place to cry it out). Ob watch that it doesn''t persist and become all-consuming.
2.gif
That could be a sign of Post-Partum Depression.

Um, what else....

Oh, tomorrow is BPF - I can''t often read everyone''s posts (right now) but I can scan pics - so post them up! I miss my belly already so I''ll live through you cuties!

xox Mela and Romeo

Hi Mela!!!!!!!! Thank you so much!
5.gif
BTW - I just wanted to let you know how adorable Romeo is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He''s only 11 days old and already he''s a little heart breaker.

Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: The Free Uddercovers

Just wanted to give a quick note to everyone to be careful with these purchases. On the other baby forum, many girls were scammed when they gave their credit card information to the site and ended up with multiple fradulent transactions on their statements. I remember it being promoted when I was in the first tri group and the girls discovered the fraud by the time I went into the 2nd tri group. So just be careful and watch your statements if you decide to purchase.

Congrats Blushing!!!! Lots of sticky dust and an easy healthy nine months. I love the babycenter weekly emails. It''s great for developments and milestones too after baby is born.

Ladies, you are making this thread move too fast. I can''t keep up.

Father''s Day
I didn''t do anything for DH last year when I was pregnant with M, but he didn''t do anything for Mother''s Day either. I am not sure if I am going to do anything this year. I am such a bad wife.

Mandarine
Yay for kicks. Those are the greatest. I can''t wait until that stage. I was having withdrawal after M was born. LOL.

I am doing well. I am not as bloated as before, but had been hungry all the time. I wonder if I am eating enough for three (baby, M and me). I have an OB appt next Friday, and we''ll get to see the little bean and hopefully the HB. Then we''ll tell our parents, family and friends about the pregnancy.

So many fun things going on here!

Blushing- BIG Congrats!!!!!! So happy to see you join us!!! Sending LOTS of sticky vibes your way!!!

Mandarine- YAY for feeling kicks! I just love it! DH still hasn''t been able to feel them from the outside yet. There have been a couple times I think he could have if he had been there, but timing is always off. I have noticed that if I feed her chocolate, kicks get stronger. I just imagine her in there dong a little happy dance! Love the crib, too. I think we will be ordering ours soon.

Re: Father''s Da- DH got me a really cute card and flowering plant for Mother''s Day, so I definitely have to come up with something! We''ll be visiting family in Chicago for the weekend, haven''t figured out what to do yet...

CDT & Mela- Thanks for the pp tips! Feel free to post more pics of those gorgeous boys when you get a chance!

QT- excited for your appt!

Cello- hope you continue to feel better and better. I have bronchitis right now and it SUCKS, which doesn''t even come close to pneumonia! You poor thing! Can''t wait to hear how your appt goes. Will be thinking about you!

Amber- you guys are going to find out the sex, right? How fun to have scheduled your scan!!!

Steph- you''re another one with an exciting appt coming up! Yay! Have fun and good luck!

Well, I am 23 weeks today. My lower abdomen feels really ''tired''. Kinda like stretching in the muscle. I wonder if it has to do with all the coughing I''ve been doing. The past 48 hours have been pretty rough, but I''m on antibiotics and do feel that I am getting better. Someone (a stranger) finally asked me yesterday when my baby is due, so I guess I officially look preggo, not just fat
36.gif
! At our doc appt yesterday, the doc reviewed the big ultrasound results with us and said all looks well (phew). She also went over the measurements of all the different body parts (0% being smallest and 100% being largest percentiles). And the baby''s belly is 92%! Whoa! She has a pot belly! DH said no more chocolate- yeah, right, buddy! Legs are 74%, and DH''s are really long, so I''m hoping she is getting that from him afterall!

Hope all is well with everyone!

Oh geez, I spent day 3 to day 7 bawling my eyes out - combo of hormones, lack of sleep, anaemia, stress over breast-feeding, painful stitches that made sitting down an act of torture and a few cows of midwives. My psychiatrist even upped my meds she got so worried...

Felt much better the second week - whether that was the hormones sorting themselves or escaping from the gulag I don''t know, but DH hasn''t had to hand out the tissues for a while now!

Well, I had my first ob appt. in Va today. Other than it taking FOREVER (they were backed up, plus they had to review my whole family history etc., and then the nurse wanted me to meet the ob''s who were in the office today), it went pretty well. I only really saw the NP, but she seemed very competent and thorough. They are even sending me to a maternal fetal medicine office to go over genetic counseling for the thalessemia and to get me more info. on GD since I had just barely passed. Oh, and since I had been having braxton hicks, she did an internal even though I''m only 32 weeks just to check things out. Cervix is still long and tight, so that is good, but boy did it hurt!

Cello and Tao, thanks for the suggestions! Hopefully if the weather is nice, we''ll be able to check the beaches out this weekend! Tao, if you are ever up for a gtg, let me know!

Cello, hope you are feeling well!

ctd, Mela, and Pandora, thanks for the tips! Glad things are going well for you!

Natalia, coughing definitely made me feel like I was doing a mucho ab workout.

QT, hope you get to hear the heartbeat! Still my favorite part of every appt.! So you are still breastfeeding??? That must be difficult!

Mandarine, that chair looks cute, but that still seems like a high price to me, especially without an ottoman!

Oh, and at the dr. today they gave me a packet of info. that had a 15% off one item at bru coupon, and I got soooo excited because we need to order our dresser (using for changing table) but I''d been waiting for the completion coupon. But on closer look, the coupon expired June 4th. Boo. I really want to get the dresser since it might take a while to come in, but I feel like I can''t really organize the nursery until we have it since I need to put clothes/diapers/supplies in it, and they all currently just sitting in piles on the floor!

Sabine, I saw 20% off BRU coupons on ebay. They weren''t going for a ton either. It might be worth buying one.

Thanks Sweet Pea!. It has really mixed reviews from a nursing perspective...so while I love it, I think I will have to pass and go for comfort!

Sabine You''re right, it is still high...but anything that has the tag "modern" tends to be on the expensive side. Oh well, not getting it anyway
9.gif
. i think they may still honor the coupon, a lot of stores do...you should try!

So where are all the BELLIES??????????????????????

Here is mine, this was 2 days ago, so 18 weeks 6 days ;) and yes, I was also on the phone...lol

Mandarine Re: Gliders

Honestly you probably will never use it for nursing because you can''t nurse 2 babies (or even really hold 2 babies) comfortably in a rocker/glider. You can certainly do it for one-but with 2 you will spend your entire day nursing if you nurse them separately. Obviously a rocker can be nice anyway-but don''t go into it thinking you''ll use it to nurse all the time because in my experience at least you won''t.

I BF mine on the couch using one of these:

Totally forgot it was Friday! Here''s my pic from Wed. at 32 weeks! As you can see, our full length mirror now gives a shot of our lovely master bath...

NF--
I''m always curious.
When you BF both boys at the same time. Do the boys stay on the same side, or do you alternate them as well?
Do they have their favorite side?

Good point! Thank you NF!

Do you not have a glider at all in the nursery?

you look great Sabine!!!!!!!!

We have a rocker but honestly we hardly used it because I couldn''t feed/nurse them in it.

Great bellies Mandy and Sabine.
Where are the other cute bellies?
