You are so sneeky. I''m soo happy for you guys! Sorry your small clothes aren''t fitting anymore
3.gif
I finally bought some new pants and tops. There are some cute things out there! Ya, pregnancy is really weird for me too with the body changing and not feeling well all the time and always being tired. And then I think about how exhausted I''m going to be after the babe is born!! Eeee! But it''s all worth it seeing the little guy on the ultrasound and then after they are born being able to hold them.

Hope you start feeling better soon. Keep up with the gym! I''m still going 3 days a week and sometimes I catch myself thinking I''ll cut back to 2 days.
31.gif
But I''m trying to stay strong! Have fun!
9.gif

Congrats Mara!!

Sabine, you look wonderful! How exciting that you''re LO will be here on friday!! Yippee! I has a scheduled c-section since Sage was breech and it was awesome! Once I got over not being able to have a natural birth, it was so great. I''ll be thinking of you on Friday!

Ok so I *guess* it''s time for me to fess up since I have been lurking on this thread for a while now and I practically outted myself on the amnio thread.
9.gif

I''m 13.5 weeks pregnant.... we have been talking about it for years (literally) but it wasn''t until our recent 5 year anni trip that we said, well lets just try and SEE...''I''m sure it will take us FOREVER because hello I am 34 with old eggs and you are 40 with sluggish sperm'' (we had no idea this is just the silly convo we had HAHAA).

Well it didn''t take forever because that fun anniversary weekend was it, BOOM. I had nausea from week 7 to 12 (and sometimes I still get it), have gained 3 lbs thus far, and my pants don''t fit anymore. I had horrible gas and indigestion to start. So depressing to not have control over your body...I am used to always feeling great with lots of energy so this not feeling well is quite strange to me.

We''ve had four viewings of the nugget so far. 5 weeks where we just saw the empty circle; 8 weeks where we saw the alien looking embryo; 12 weeks for my nuchal ultrasound (such detail!) and one on Monday for our 13 week regular checkup. It''s amazing to me how well formed the nugget was at week 12, pretty much DONE, now it just keeps growing. The science of it all is so crazy.

Anyway my due date is Jan 31/Feb 1... so Steph I am really close to you. We don''t know the sex yet but at last visit the DR said she *thought* maybe boy but admitted that the spot could be labia that just hadn''t separated yet. SO we''ll see!

MARA!!!!! A BIG Congratulations TO YOU AND GREG!!!!! How exciting for you both.

PG I was actually talking with my DR about the gain the other day. I have only gained 3 lbs and I am hoping to only gain 12 by end of second TRI. But honestly, I know my body will do what it wants.

So I was asking her what was ''normal'' and she was giving the large ranges they do. But she said really it had to do with what you were about before conceiving. She said if people are overweight technically the DR''s should say, maybe you should only gain 10-15 lbs because you already have some fat stores. But for people who are normal weight she said 20-35 is the range they like to see. If you were underweight then they might WANT you to gain more. I am hoping to stay at 25 lbs, but we''ll see. I know some people who have gained crazy weight NOT even eating unhealthily, just their body went crazy...and afterwards they went back to close to normal quite easily.

So I figure as long as I keep eating decently and not porking out on the milkshakes and fries and staying ''active'' in some way, I should be ok because it won''t be as much ''fat weight'' to get off afterwards. BTW, PG I was thinking of starting a ''Healthy Lifestyle for Preggos'' thread over in the workout section for us control freaks who like to talk about how much we work out and what we eat... hahaha. Also it could be interesting to share ideas about nutrition. Again I think my biggest issue so far is my body and how crazy it is being. I am used to having a lot of control over it.
39.gif
But now as my hub points out ... I am the ''vessel of life''
31.gif

Mara, are you near a swimming pool??? My daughter used to swim in ours a lot for exercise.

Sabine- you look great!!! I was freaked out too w/ the growth from like week 32 to week 37! It was insane! Can''t wait to see pics of Jackson!!

China - hey
1.gif
Getting close!!!

Mara - I''m just really hard on myself...everyone else says I look great, but I still have 15 lbs to loose at 8 weeks pp. And I thought I ate ''relatively'' healthy throughout my pregnancy. But this weight is not budgeting so far. But I also haven''t gotten back into my pre-pregnancy workouts yet. I''m way too tired because our nights are rough right now! It''s just tough because it took me 30 years to be happy w/ my body and then I went and got pregnant
9.gif
But I did manage to escape stretch marks and my stomach went back down to ''almost'' flat within 10 days, it''s just not firm right now. Most of my weight is on my thighs and a**! hehehe...my problem areas.

Mara, I would LOVE for you to start a healthy preggo thread. I miss posting in the normal one!

Sabine, congrats on having a date...I bet you are so excited you will be holding your little one in a few short days! Rest up!

Linda, I swim almost everyday and it is such a great low impact workout!

Congratulations Monkey Pie and Mara! Very exciting news!

And Mara, stay away from me girlfriend...with all my friends getting preggo, I fear for my own safety at this point! Very excited for you and Greg, and I''m not surprised at all.
2.gif

Mara, I totally busted out my Charlotte pants for my last pregnancy since I was at my largest over the summer and I got tired of wearing skirts and dresses all the time--if you remember the embarrassing moments thread, notice how many people had some pee issues and then you'll understand why it was sometimes safer to wear pants!!! Anyway, I wore them through the bitter end because they just kind of went under my belly and were sooooo comfy. I actually need to get some new ones because I may have done some permanent damage to the elastic plus I just associate them with pregnancy now so I don't want to wear the old ones anymore! But they are perfect for pretty much all stages of the pregnancy. Also, I remember your vast collection of Juicy sweatsuits from the past--if you still have those, they will be comfy and useful too! I wore mine as my "coming home" outfit after giving birth both times! Old Navy also makes awesome long tank tops that I still wear and they have some good tshirts too. Don't spend a lot on maternity clothes--you won't want to look at them again after the baby arrives and I know you will get back in shape into no time so you won't need them for very long anyway!

Linda dear I am not a swimmer. I am a sinker!
3.gif

Thanks everyone....!! Greg is VERY excited. It is touching actually. I am just hoping I get to see him shed a tear at the birth, it''s a running thing that I have never seen him cry ever. I said... at least well up will you? hahaha. We have been together 9 years now so I guess it''s time.
5.gif

as soon as we found out, i went online and booked us a 2 week trip first-class to Spain and Portugal. we go in end of aug when i am 4 months...hopefully i like more food then. but it is our last ''hurrah'' and hopefully we''ll enjoy it!

mandarine, i haven''t been able to drink a ton of just water. that is starting to let up but it was so hard, during nausea i could not just drink plain water. it had to be something with sugar like juice or tea or something or else it tasted gross. and hello it''s WATER. and i drink all water all the time typically. so now i am trying to get back into the habit of just water.

cdt...i know we are always hardest on ourselves. i feel like a SOW and people are like ''you look the same''. I am like WOW that is so offensive! hahaa. and then my gf is like..no really you look the same. so as with most body issues, half of it is in our heads for sure.

i''ll start a thread later today in the lifestyle section...yay.

Mara LOL. Get one of those Fun Noodle things, hang on to it and just slowly kick, it is really good exercise for you, or even a swim board. You could relax in the pool. Come on up to my house!!!!!

Linda, I am technically due Feb. 2nd, but my c-section is already planned for Jan. 25th.

Congrats MARA and MONKEYPIE!!! hehe, I saw some post somewhere in hangout and guessed you might be preggo Mara, yay!

SABINE, you look fabulous!!!

STEPH, hi friend, I bet Andrew can't wait to be a big brother!!!

I am excited for all he peggos!!!! My sister is due in 7 weeks w/a boy so I can't wait for my little nephew to be a big brother, soon!!
9.gif

Sabine you look great!!! Best of luck to you!! You must be so excited.

Monkeypie - CONGRATS to you!! Such exciting news!!!

Steph, so happy for you too. Your C Section is the day before my birthday!!! I know Andrew will be so excited to be a big brother!!

Mara,
Yay for those Charlotte pants!! I gained the same amount with both, 28 pounds. You'll be fine. I hear ya on the boobs, just wait, they get a lot bigger... National Geographic on steroids. and I am flat chested...
3.gif
My hubby loved it!! I was like you can look but don't touch!!
11.gif
They were sore..

It was my chest that caused my friends to think I was pregnant before I did, they said your chest has never been that big... I took a test a few days after and there was that + sign!!!
1.gif

yeah try to fake it at work like you are normal when your boobs are 1+ sizes bigger. one of my coworkers saw me walking one day and was like your boobs are enormous, are you pregnant!? i was like no i just gained 10 lbs! she was like REALLY? well a few weeks later when i told everyone she was like 'i already knew, your boobs were huge'. i was like GREAT. it's kind of embarassing actually! the hilarious thing for me is that i only gained 3 lbs so far but yet i know my boobs must weigh more than that. so i wonder if i lost in other areas or it just MIGRATED.
40.gif

sabine...you look fabulous, skinny everywhere but BELLY. but holy crap your belly is scaring me!!!!! does it feel crazy at all to think that your body can do that? or at that point are you like 'i am over being surprised'. this is the kind of stuff i wonder.
9.gif

CONGRATULATIONS MARA!!!! I am so exciting for you and Greg. You are one of the few who I remembered from when I first joined PS.

I am sure you still look great, but I understand what you mean about having no control over your body. Hopefully you’ll get the burst of energy for the 2 nd trimester soon.

Our due date is pretty close too. Mine is Jan 28, so just few days before yours. I will be 14 weeks exactly tomorrow. I wouldn''t worry too much about weight gain. It tends to even out if you are not overeating. With my 1st, I would gain 5lbs one month and only 2lbs another. My OB was giving me a hard time about weight throughout the pregnancy, but at the end I gained 30lbs and he didn''t say a thing.

Thanks so much Skippy and Kaleigh! Andrew is so excited to be a big brother. He keeps saying he wants a baby sister....funny, but I thought he would want a brother. We shall see in about 7 weeks what we're having but my guess is boy!

As far as weight gain goes, I think each person is different. I have not been very hungry at all, and very sick, but managed to gain 8 lbs right away! Then I went to the doc yesterday and lost 2, so technically I've gained 6 at 13 weeks. I'm hoping not to put on much the 2nd trimester, but we'll see. It was at this point with Andrew that my ankles already started to swell. By the end, my doc estimated I had an extra 15-20 lbs of fluid in my legs alone...sexy
40.gif
. I guess she was right, b/c I lost the first 30 in a matter of weeks....it was the additional 25 that took another year and a half or so. Trying not to get there this time since I saw how hard it was to lose!

Update on my NT scan
The follow-up appt with the perinatalogist got denied by my HMO. The letter stated that there were no evidences of problem to show that the follow-up is necessary. So it was not justified. So I’ll ask my OB about my placenta when I have my next appt this Fri.

Sorry I haven’t had a chance to read through the thread and respond to everyone individually. I’ve been busy planning for M’s 1 st birthday party this Sat. Can’t believe that I’ll have 1 yr old tomorrow. Time flies.

Hi to everyone and hope everyone is doing great.

Also want to say Good Luck Sabine in case I don’t get to post on here after today. You look great Sabine. All belly.

Fri will be a busy day for us since it’s M’s 12 months well visit and my OB appt. Plus we have to do some last time thing for the party.

SABINE- Wow, look at that belly!!!! It''s awesome, but I can''t believe the difference in the last few weeks. You are ALL belly, so freaking cute. And yes, a bit weird. But in a good way! Glad you are at peace with your decision, sounds like you are doing the right thing. July 31 is my BFF''s bday, so Jackson will be in good company. Can''t wait to meet him! Hope you enjoy your last day tomorrow. Can''t believe once you''re gone, I''m next.

Umm. LYSSER- Once Sabine goes, you know what that means, right? I''m next, but you are next in line after me!!!! We''re #1 and #2. You ready for this?
