Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

Let''s talk swollen feet.

My feet are insane right now! My husband called them Flintstone feet!

Anyone have anything that helped them out. I have them propped up and I''m going to start watching my water and salt intake.

My feet were sooo swollen at the end of my pregnncy when carrying DD. Elevating them is key. With this heat, soak them in some cold water, add some ice cubes... It really helped me...
I didnt have this problem when carrying my son funny how that works..

Hope your feet feel better!!!

One of them is still swollen--the other one went down over the night.

I have an appointment on Monday so I''m definitely going to bring this up to him. Thankfully I have a sit down job now, so I''ll just prop them up and make sure I do a bit of walking every hour like I read about.

Hi Tao! My feet also started swelling a bit. My toes look like vienna sausages!!. I try to keep them elevated as much as I can!.

Just got back from the peri''s office!!! Both babies are getting so big!!!. They are both breeched right now (so Baby B is really sticking his head to my ribs, while A, who''s a little lower, keeps kicking me right in the bladder!). The tech said they can still turn...but with tight quarters in there it can become more difficult as they get bigger. We will see.

Both babies are right on the 50th percentile...measuring 2 lbs 13 oz and 2 lbs 15 oz!!. I think that''s pretty good for twins!!!

It was tough to get good pictures, but here they are :)

and sweet baby B :)

Awww Mandarine! You can really see their little faces so well. Those are great scans!

Those are great shots of your little ones! I love that they are growing so well--especially with them being twins.

Next week will probably be my last time to see Evan until I''m holding him and I''m sad about it. Enjoy all your ultrasounds Mandarine--in a way I''m jealous!

Thanks to Pandora for directing me to the in-gender site. It''s a blast hearing people''s opinions on my gender ultrasounds. Most agree that it will probably be a boy--but they all cautioned me that they didn''t think the shots were good enough to go shopping off of (TOO LATE!!). Can''t wait to get the final confirmation next week.

The feet are out of control btw!

The nuggets are sooo cute Mandarine!!! Well I am so proud of ours I will post it, it's the best shot we have seen so far of the nugget in terms of clarity, and I love the face and nose profile, sooo cute. And those cheeks. My friend and Greg say he has my nose (snub as opposed to pointy) but I am like umm it's only halfway, maybe it'll change..??

I wonder how China is doing??

NT scan went well, so here I am: 11 weeks and 5 days pg. Finally. After almost 4 years, months of clomid, femara, injects, and two tries at IVF. Here''s our little mexican jumping bean from today''s scan. I''m so thankful things are still going well, and just praying that they continue to do so.

Mara, those little cheeks are to DIE for! They demand squishing.

drk, that is a GREAT scan for only 11 weeks!

YAY drk, how wonderful!

Mandarine, Mara, and Drk, congrats on the beautiful pictures!

Just think DRK, only about 4.5 more weeks for yours to be as giant as ours appears right now. We were like holy crap he''s huge. Hahaha.

Mara - I guess that means I might start getting snug pants sometime soon? Right now I''m blaming any pudge on the bunged-up bowels rather than growing baby, but I guess it''s probably a combo of the two. I can''t wait to see the kiddo again, but it won''t be till Oct 14th, unless I sneak in to visit an ultrasound machine someplace in the meantime. I haven''t figured out where they live at my new hospital yet, so I may end up having to spill the beans and see if I can wrangle my way in at one of the teaching hospitals I just finished residency at. I''m sure the baby looks that much cooler a few weeks down the road.

Welcome DrK!!!!!!

Thanks everyone on the comments!. It was a little hard to get good pictures because they were on the MOVE!. Baby A was looking in (so towards my back) and B was looking up at my ribs!

We were shocked at how much diff he looked from 12-13 weeks to 16. A lot more detail. And yep I looked bigger in first tri than I do right now actually, thanks to all the gas and bloating I had going on, my god. I was in shock. Now I can actually wear some of my old pants again, stretchy ones of course hehee...I am not that much bigger. I''ll keep fingers crossed that you can manage to sneak in and get your way to a US in another 2 weeks or so to have another peek.

DrK: You should take your picture over to in-gender.com on their forums you can get them to try and guess the sex of your baby from early u/s. They have a few professional sonographers who will also take a look.

Not sure if 11 weeks is too early for the people to guess from but I''ve seen posts from like 12-13 weeks.

Plus it''s just for fun!

Lovely ultrasound pics, drk, Mara, and Mandarine!

Yeah, it''s amazing how much the baby grows from week to week. I didn''t have a 16-week ultrasound, but I was amazed at the growth from my 8 week scan to my 12 week ultrasound. The embryo was huge at 12 weeks (and moving too!) compared to how it looked at 8 weeks (just like an little oval blob). It''s truly fascinating.

Tavo, my feet started swelling recently too - at 22 weeks. They''ve pretty much been swollen every day, although I haven''t made a great effort at elevating them throughout the day, and wearing non-constricting shoes. My feet also looked like Flintstone feet!

Or flippers. The shape is totally gone.

I''m not sure about the salt but I read that drinking MORE water actually helps with foot swelling. It seems counter-intuitive, but apparently it has something to do wtih helping to flush out extra fluids from your body, which can cause fluid retention. You can find more info on it by doing a search.

I hope China and her new baby are doing well! can''t wait to hear the details

Oh Mara, finally found your latest pic. You were posting the same time I was, I guess, so I didn''t see it till now when I went searching, wondering what pic everyone was talking about! He''s gorgeous! The profile is so clear, with such a cute little nose. And tummy, ribs, cord and legs. I can''t wait to have even more baby-like photos like that. So cool!!

Tao - glad you liked in-gender! I''m guessing girl from Dr K''s, but 11 weeks is pretty early (although it''s a GREAT pic)

Congrats Kate - looks like you are cooking a beauty in there!

Tao, I had a terrible time with my legs - elevation and wearing TED stockings were the best things I did and even they didn''t help much. If it''s any consolation they do go down after the birth and you loose an incredible amount of weight in the first week due to all that fluid! If you suddenly gain a load on the scales - that is where it''s all going.

Mara - great pic of your baby boy!

Mandy - Cute boys. How fantastic that you''re so far along, and both are the same size and growing so well. And your belly''s still so small too! Another 7 weeks and you''ll be all ready for them to get here!

sooo cute, Mara!
The twins are looking great too Mandarine!!

I can''t wait to see detail like that. :)

Thank you guys!!!. Hoping the boys stay put until at least 36 weeks...so far so good!

It''s crazy how time has flown by. The first trimester went by SOOOO sloooowly...but then it starts flying and all of the sudden you''re wondering "wow, when did I get to be on the 3rd trimester!?"

So while it''s easier for me to say now, enjoy those first few months. The first little flutters, the first kicks, the appearance of "the bump"...before you know it you will be almost there!.

All the ultrasound pics are so cute!!! Just love those little profile shots!

DrK- SO happy to see you here! Wishing you a very happy and healthy pregnancy!

I am so excited to hear from China!

checking in for china''s update!?

Kate - YEY! welcome....you''ve had a long road. I''m so happy to see that little bear of yours

I''m itching to see how ChinaCat did!

Ok ladies, I need to vent a bit here because no one seems to believe me IRL. I HURT. My stomach and abdomen hurt all day long unless I am in a good sleep, and even then I have to lay in bed awhile and let my tummy get used to the idea that I am now laying down. You know when you have stomach flu, and you have pain in your gut before you get sick? That''s how I feel, all day. I have yet to actually throw up, but the pain is still there and my gag reflex is so high I''m surprised I haven''t been ill at all. I''m miserable, I don''t want food at all, and this is possibly the worst I have ever felt in my life while still being able to function. All I want is V8 and Activia, which are not bad for me thank goodness, but I am sort of hating life. This may well be an only child

Ok, vent over. I feel better for having said/typed it lol.

my feet look a bit better...I soaked them and kept them raised since I got home yesterday.

Pandora/Drk: I''m with Pandora--based on what I heard from the other site--I''m guessing girl for you also.

Monkey: I was the exact same way. Just completely miserable and nauseous ALL the time. I can''t promise that it gets better anytime soon. I finally started feeling better around 18 weeks or so.

MP... i am sure you are tired of hearing people tell you this but it DOES get better. i was where you were just 3-4 weeks ago even. my sickness was from week 8 to week 13 and i felt like i had a perpetual FLU. where your skin is sensitive, you just don't feel yourself, you are tired, i was nauseated, and if i wasn't nauseated i felt like my stomach had that 'empty' hangover feeling. food was vastly unappealing. i was only happy when sleeping. i was sure i was depressed too... but i think that's just a normal reaction to being SO out of sorts. i was bloated beyond belief in my belly area, i had horrible acid reflux and indigestion.

but THANK GOD it does get better. now...i might venture to say i feel almost normal. showering in the morning, the spray doesnt HURT my skin the way it used to. my hair doesn't nauseate me anymore. i can actually open the fridge. i still feel happiest when i am sleeping at night because that is when i feel most comfortable, but my bloating is down immensely, i look normal again, and some of my old clothes actually fit again. it's crazy because being out of sorts and in a mild form of nausea and pain really does mess with your head. but it gets better, just hang in there, remind yourself it's a 'finite' period of time (though some people's ends later) and whine as much as you want. i surely did to poor Greg...hehehe. i still get nauseated sometimes in the mornings when i get up, but i just drink a glass of 1% chocolate milk and feel instantly better. good luck!!

Thanks, ladies. My husband is convinced I am going to either have a heart attack or end up with a stomach cancer because OMG it cannot possibly be this bad. My mom had no sickness - her only symptom was a growing belly, seriously. I am soooo jealous. I have the same bloating, Mara, my tummy is distended like a little Ethiopian baby and feels hard sometimes. Yuck.

It sucks that everyone keeps telling me, "That''s weird, I never had that problem when I was pregnant!" Cause you know, that makes me feel soooo much better, to know my baby is a freak of nature
20.gif
I keep telling myself, only a few more weeks and it will start to lessen, but man it''s hard when you''re this miserable!
