Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

Wow Anchor you look beautiful! What a great belly!!

Mara-The weirdest thing for me was feeling something sticking out and realizing it was Sophia''s foot. Then I would try to grab it and she''d move it right away. So weird but a great feeling too.

Hope you ladies are feeling as good as you can

Aw, anchor, your belly is so great! You look gorgeous!

Alas, I have no bathroom to take a picture in (I''m off work today), and I am feeling like SUCH a lazybones after T-Day so I haven''t taken one with the big camera yet. Maybe I can work up some enthusiasm later hehe.

You look great Anchor! Glad the root canal went so well.

Here''s mine (sucked in) 26 weeks. I think it finally popped out a little more.

I decided to do my 1h Glucose test today so that they''d have results when I go in next Wed, and I can quickly do the 3 hour if necessary before I''m hopefully back at work the next week. 26 weeks today! She has fairly wild periods in there too, but I''m not feeling any separate limbs yet. Hard bumps that are either head or bum, and a couple times I''ve felt something like an arm or leg brushing past under my skin if my hand''s on my belly. Hopefully I''ll have another 10 weeks or so of enjoying this before she makes here appearance! We''re also starting to stress about organizing the move and the reno on the new house. Hopefully all will work out.

Hope the rest of you are doing well!

Even if I tried sucking it in, I don''t think it would make much of a difference...

Good luck with the move. There''s no way DH and I can move before baby arrives, but hopefully we''ll be able to seal the deal on a house. Not much time left... Eeep!

Anchor - usually when we order ES tylenol at work, it's for 2 tabs every 6 hours around the clock. I think by the time you get to hour 4, the effects are starting to wear off. Plain tylenol (325mg per pill) is usually ordered 2 tabs every 4 hours round the clock. For a normal person, the max is 4000mg a day, or 8 tabs - so extra-strength 1-2 tabs every 4-6 hours, max 8 tabs a day should be fine. The concern with tylenol is being on the max dose over an extended period of time, because it's hard on the liver.

The small amount of narcotic in tylenol #3 or percocet really shouldn't do anything to baby. People are on narcotics throughout pregnancy for chronic pain - the problem with the narcotics is that they become tolerant and physically dependent to them, so if you've been on them for months, you'd have to watch the baby for signs of withdrawal after birth. If you're only on them for a few days, no problem. And the amount of narcotic in those tablets would likely not make the baby more drowsy or anything after birth if you were to deliver while taking them. You could just stop taking the pills while in labour, and if your labour lasted more than 6 hours, the effects would be pretty much worn off by the time kiddo arrives.
Anchor, I'm on serious amounts of narcotics for chronic pain - 240mg of Codeine, plus 200mg of Tramadol, plus Lamotrigine daily - and have been for years. Stopping them during pregnancy was not an option and I saw a Anaesthetist in the Pain Clinic, plus a Neonatologist, two OBs, a GP and a Spinal Neurosurgeon to discuss the situation before and during the pregnancy. I don't take Tylenol as it wrecks my liver though.

Daisy and I had to spend a week in hospital so that she could be monitored for withdrawal symptoms. She had Apgar scores of 10 and 10 after birth, developed a small amount of withdrawal two days after birth which was treated with Oramorph for a day - it made her a bit sleepy but that was it. She did have the weird cry that opiate dependent babies have for about 5 days, but she was extremely alert from the start and had no problems latching or feeding at all (except my lack of milk!)

She's way ahead on all her milestones, so the opiates have had no adverse effects whatsoever. My biggest worry was that someone would give her Naloxone at birth - it reverses the effects of short-term opiates given in labour with no problems, but causes seizures in opiate dependent babies.

Opiates are one of the safest meds that you can take in pregnancy.

the 3D ultrasound was amazing!! we got a CD of over 100 images and a DVD in 4D that shows the entire 30 minute session. we had a fun time trying to figure out whose nose and lips etc he has...hahaa. i totally recommend it for anyone considering it. it is crazy just how full-grown he looks, like he''s practically ready to come out! and WOW holy crap there''s a PERSON in my BODY.

here are two of the best images we got. we think he has a hybrid nose with greg''s length but my shape. and we''re trying to figure out where he got those full lips from! oh and he has hair.

and DRK girl i can''t even believe you can still suck it in at 26 weeks, that is crazy. i couldn''t ''suck'' anything in without it hurting at week 10.

and lol re the photo friday.. i didn''t even really remember it was friday. gotta love days off.

anchor you look great, all belly!

Great pics Mara!

Wow, things sure are quiet today. Must be US Thanksgiving?

Great pics Mara! He already looks like he has those adorable baby chubby cheeks!

Tao-What a cute bebe! He is sooooo adorable!
16.gif

Mara-I luff those pics! He is so cute! I am going soon, when I turn 30 weeks, to see my Jacky!
36.gif
I can''t wait!

Cute baby pics, tavo and Mara! Mara, I started to get those squirming motions from 31 weeks as well. It was kicks in the 2nd trimester, and then the movement changed distinctly to rolls and squirms in the third trimester. I think it has to do with the baby getting bigger and having less space to move about.

Great bellies, anchor and drk!

Has anyone heard from Amber? I hope her L&D went okay, and she''s home with her new baby.

Oh Mara, look at those CHEEKS! They just beg to be squished. What a cutie! I can hardly wait to do our 3D ultrasound now - maybe I will start looking into scheduling an appointment for when I am 30 weeks.
30.gif

Thanks ladies...those cheese are SO smooshable. When I was little I had big cheeks, my Mom used to call me chipmunk. So he already has my cheeks for sure...hahaa. I guess what blows my mind is he just looks so ready to come out, even though he''s got 9 more weeks of baking to do. It''s crazy really!

Totally recommend the 3D US...we had to go a local place as our hospital doesn''t offer it but it was so worth it. And we got the DVD too even though we weren''t sure about it. We figured we might regret it later if we didn''t. Oh and I yelped the ones local to us before we went as there are 4-5 near us, and tried to choose the one that seemed to have the most realistic recommendations. Most people tend to say ''it sucked'' if their kid was not in a primo position for viewing, that is not the place''s fault. We got lucky, but I was prepared to pay extra to come back if he wasn''t visible. But our tech was so nice, she gave us extra time, extra photos, and we could bring up to 7 people. It was great.

re: the squirming and kicking, seriously I wonder if it''s normal for him to be so active sometimes. aka every morning prob around 4pm I get up to pee and when I go back to bed that is like the cue for the gymnastics to begin. I lay there for 10 min just feeling what is like explosive popcorn all over the belly, it shakes, shimmies, juts out on both left and right at the same time. Eventually he quiets down and stops entirely but it''s hilarious! He really only does the crazy acrobatics at 4am. I totally wonder why that triggers him. And I hope it doesn''t mean he''ll be up at 4am when he comes out as his favorite play time..haha. Wait til at least 6am, kid, please.

The US gal said that it looks like he still has a fair amt of space in there, and we watched him kind of roll over a few times, so he does move a lot in general, thankfully he tends to stay head down just rolls from side to back to other side, he also seems now to go more with whatever direction *I* am going in now, aka if I lay on my left he moves to the left and bulks himself at the bottom in a hard lump.

Sorry I am going on and on about the movements but they really are amazing. I am always marveling at them hahaa. I am sure Greg is like ''jeez belly movements AGAIN''...

DRK, this holiday weekend is def quiet!
Amber, I hope you had an uneventful delivery (well besides the big event!)...and are home having a great weekend with your new doll.

drk - you look fantastic! how tall are you?

mara - cute 3D pics! we''re going to do those too. our dr''s office does them.

--

wow, i think i gained lots-o-pounds due to turkey day + day after leftovers. so so yummy! and i''m so grateful i am past the yucky stages where i can actually eat + taste the food and enjoy it!

jcrow - I'm 6', which I think gives me lots more room to hide it. Though I didn't have much padding to start with, so I'm sure I've been getting lots thicker with time.

I also want to hearwhat happened with Amber! I was expecting a blow-by-blow description after she started posting from the hospital. :)

Mara-I hear you on the twists and turns, it feels funny but I luff it! My last appt. my doctor told me that she is breech. I don''t know if that''s going to be a problem when I go and do that 4D but I am planning to go in 2 weeks, maybe by then she will somersault or something!

Anchor--
Wow, not much longer for you.
Great belly shot.
It looks rock hard ^.^

DrK--
You must be kidding me w/ the belly.
Can''t believe that you can still sucked in at 26 wks.
You looked great.
Fingers crossed your little girl stay in there for 10+ wks.

Mara--
Awww....what great shots of your little man.
He does have such squishy cheeks.
I''m amazed at how much fat he seems to already have at 30 wks

Meresal-

I luff those US pics! Congrats on the bebe being a boy! Do you guys have a name yet?

Mara, love the pics! I''ve never bothered with the 3D u/s, but love to see the pics others get from them. It''s so cool how much you can see.

Meresal, congrats on being on team blue!

It seems like we''ve got nothing but boys coming up for a while.

I''m not sure if I''m nesting or what, but today I was on a cleaning tear. There''s so much that I want to get done RIGHT NOW. Too much has been left for a while because I''ve been so tired and busy with work. Unfortunately, at the same time, my patience seems to have left the building and I spent the entire day grousing at the older kids.

We went yesterday and ordered our new sofa and loveseat. Our couch is in terrible shape, but we haven''t been able to make up our minds about other furniture. We decided to bite the bullet and get a set that''s blue and boring, but will suffice for quite a while. I''ll be happy when it''s delivered in 2 weeks and our place looks a bit more put together.

After so much hard work today, tomorrow, I''m putting up the tree because we need some fun!

Meresal--
Congrats on team blue.
Love the face shot...so cute.
I'm a bit confused on the $$ shot.

ETA: Ahh....I see it now.

LOL...The money shot is how the doctor or tech found that it was a boy!

Meresal, yayyyyyy for team blue! I love the leg shot, that is seriously cute how he''s all curled up!

I'm here on behalf of our friend AmberWaves, who welcomed Piper Jane into the world on November 24th at 11:35 pm via emergency c-section (after 24 hours of labor). 8 lbs 6 oz, 18.5 inches long and super cute! Amber and her husband are busy getting settled at home, but she'll be here shortly with a more detailed story and pics!

Yay, Amber!

Thanks ladies, we are very glad to be expecting a boy and part of team blue.

Mtjoya- We are almost set on Christopher Allen.

Opps, I guess I could explain the picture better. Sorry. I guess it's easier when I have looked at it numerous times.
In the pic, from (Left to Right): Right shin, boy part, left foot

Mara- Those 3-d shots are great! So cute!

Amber- We can't wait to hear from you! I hope that you are recovering well from the delivery.
