I''m here on behalf of our friend AmberWaves, who welcomed Piper Jane into the world on November 24th at 11:35 pm via emergency c-section (after 24 hours of labor). 8 lbs 6 oz, 18.5 inches long and super cute! Amber and her husband are busy getting settled at home, but she''ll be here shortly with a more detailed story and pics!

Yay, Amber!

Thanks for the update! Glad to know that Amber delivered safely and all is well!

Meresal, congrats on team blue! I do see the little peeper as well..

Sha, thanks!

The other thing I forgot to add, is how amazed the doctors are that I haven''t felt anything. They kept making the comment, "Ohh, you''re probably feeling things, you just don''t realize it."

Well, when we did the ultrasounds, the LO was literally doing flips, moving from belly to back, throwing punches, and making swift kicks. The doctor looked at me and said, "You REALLY don''t feel ANY of that??" I just shrugged and replied no.

Maybe in the next week or two. However, I do know that once you start feeling it, it doesn''t stop... so I''m really not all that ready to feel things just yet
2.gif

meresal- That''s a cute name! How many weeks are you?

Oh my gosh... I just woke up to pee like always and my underwear was soaked! Don''t think it''s leaking urine! Letting DH sleep and going to see how much leaks in the next 30 minutes. Yikes, this could be it!

It seems like a lot of us PS''ers actually experience water breaking. I think it only happens naturally about 10% of the time.

Hi! Just found this thread.... and I just posted in the healthier lifestyles for preggers! It's so exciting for me to read about everyone's pregnancy... I'm almost there.... 39 weeks! Doc says 40 weeks on Monday 11/30. But I think the real due date is 12/07 .. or something around there. Baby Kumquat moves around a lot in my tummy. But doesn't feel like he's decended anywhere down further, or my stomach dropping lower. I do think my stomach sits a bit lower than 6 to 8 weeks ago.. but nothing like people tell me how it gets really low right before birth. Hopefully he's ready to come out soon, though I'm a little scared and nervous. Not really sure what to expect with my 1st born!

I just wanted to say hi and introduce myself.. :) Found this thread fun, and I'd love to join and share in on everyone's pregnancy experience...

Welcome wa!
35.gif
Our due dates are actually similar - mine is December 6th.

indypitty, that's exciting! Looks like you could be in early labour!
1.gif

Looks like we could be going together - I've been having constant Braxton Hicks contractions since last night, which have now progressed into painful cramps that come every 5 minutes or so. I'm not sure if they're actual contractions, but it was so constant and uncomfortable that I couldn't sleep at all last night. I also had spotting on and off last night, then my bloody show at 5:00 am!! That was scary!! I think I could be early labour too!
23.gif
I can't believe this is happening a week earlier than I expected it to. I've been up for the last couple hours finishing my bag and getting some odds and ends done. Going to wake DH in a few minutes and head to the hospital to get checked out. Yikes!
6.gif

Wish us well!

Congrats Amber! I hope you and DH are enjoying being home with Piper. Can''t wait to see pics.

Good luck Indypitty and Sha!

Welcome, Piper. Hope all is well, Amber.

Drk, great picture. No more cheating! Let it all hang out.

Anchor, you look fantastic!

We had a nice trip, but it's always good to come home and sleep in your own bed. Going on a hike with a couple of girlfriends today, haven't done that in a while so it should be interesting.

Yayyyyy Amber! I can hardly wait to hear your birth story and get a peek at Piper. Yay!

Sha and Indy, omg, how exciting! It seems like both of you will have a little miracle shortly!

meresal, one you said the bump on the left was a shin, I got it lol. I wasn''t sure what that was! Team blue, woo! There are so many of us having boys.

Mara & Meresal - love the US pics!

Mandarine, love the maternity pics!

Indy & Sha, good luck - it sounds like it''s happening for both of you! Can''t wait to hear your stories!

Can''t wait to see your little guy.

Congrats Amber! I look forward to the details and pictures!

I am sorry you ended up with the c-section after so long a labour but man I can see why you might have! You are only 5 foot 1 or something and Piper was as big as Hunter, and I am 5-7 and it was hard work for me to get him out!

Good work Amber!!

Indy & Sha- Best of luck! Sounds like the bebe will come soon! Can''t wait to get there!

Welcome Wa!

Sha - Good luck! So exciting! Can''t wait to hear up dates and stories.

Welcome Wa!

Just so you know, not everyone drops before they go into labor. I saw my dr. at 39 weeks, and he said my baby was in the highest station, didn''t look close to being delivered, and we were probably going to have to induce at 41 weeks.

Lo & behold, 3 days later my water broke & I had to go to the hospital to have labor induced - baby was born the next day. So, sometimes those little babies can surprise you, and even fool the doctors! :)

Good luck with everything - let us know how your experience goes!

Oh my goodness, Sha and Indy good luck!!!

Congratulations to Amber and welcome to Piper Jane - can''t wait to see the pics!

Congrats Mer on Team Blue - I can''t remember what week you are, but I couldn''t feel ANYTHING till 21 weeks and that was with a posterior placenta and being on the skinny side.

EBree - Thanks for sharing the news. Amber - CONGRATS!

Sorry you had to go for a c-section, I hope you and baby PJ are doing well.

DH and I had a surprise shower at my grandma''s yesterday! I was great, and we got some more really great gifts, including a diaper bag and a Disney activity mat. We put an offer on a house today, so we''ve been pretty busy!

Sunkist--
So cute.

Go Sha! Go Indy!

So, a question for Burk and other teachers, when to tell students? I feel like this weekend it became obvious, perhaps it was all the pie, but suddenly my ribcage seems to pooch out and where there was not much to see last week, suddenly there now is a hard not suck-inable mass. I''m at 17 weeks and while I''m very tall, none of it is torso so I figured this would happen. Students who saw me in a swimsuit today were staring at my boobs/belly. When to tell the girls swim team that I coach? Gah, must tell my administrative team soon I suppose.
We find out the gender on Tuesday (18wks)!

I love his little fauxhawk!

Swimmer - I told work at 16 weeks after hearing the doppler again at the OB visit. The pooch was getting bigger, and that was with me disguised in scrubs, rather than a skintight swimsuit. I''m kind of thinking you''d better tell sooner rather than later. When are you finally going to post a belly pic?? So glad all''s going well with you so far!

Meresal
Congrats on team blue! PS is definitely having a baby boy boom.

Indy & Sha
Good luck ladies. Hope you have a quick and easy delivery.

Ebree
Thanks for updating on Amber. Congrats Mama. I can''t wait to read the details and see pics of PJ.

Welcome wa. You are getting close. I didn''t really drop with M either, and I wasn''t dilated at my 39 weeks appt. M ended up 4 days early.

Swimmer, I told coworkers at 15 weeks (with the exception of two who are friends). One was obsessed with telling the students, but it''s a totally different population. I would say if you think they are noticing it''s time to tell your administration and then the students.

Back to work today. It was nice being off, but I love going back too.

I love his little fauxhawk!

Hehe I was just going to type that. Gosh his hair is cute!

swimmer, I have no doubts that at least half of your swim team suspects, so it wouldn''t be too terrible to tell them soon. At least you went this long without anyone noticing!

I am seriously having the worst day ever. My husband normally works nights, so we never share a bed, but last night he decided to sleep when I do, and hogged the whole bed. (Isn''t that supposed to be me doing that now?) So I have a sore back from being stuck in one position all night and I am exhausted from lack of sleep. Then I get up and he opens the blinds while I am getting dressed, and people live behind us, hellooooo? So I try to go into the bathroom, but grandma decides that exact moment is a good time to use it. I wait, finally get in there and I am so angry by this time I''m crying (lovely hormones), and rub my eyes and a contact falls out and I lose it. My eyes are too watery for new ones right then, so I finish getting ready and then put them in, only to find out I lost my hair clip in my rage. Then I knock a bunch of stuff off the counter, my grandma hogs the newspaper, I get to work and find out I forgot the ID I need to get in...omg, it is officially an AWFUL day!
