Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

Good morning! Just checking in this morning from my phone to see if any more babies were born, but looks like everyone. is still waiting. ..can''t wait to hear about everyone.

We are doing well. Little Evan is so calm he hardly cries at all. Nursing was going well but I have to suppliment because he''s dropped down to 5 1/2lbs. We either get to go home today or tomorrow and then I''ll post a pic!

good morning ladies
35.gif
so a little news on my side. i''ve been up since 3 am with honest-to-goodness-no-questoning contractions. i''m pretty sure they''re just braxton hicks but they haven''t stopped. not painful, and the only reason i knew what was happening is because i kept waking up with reflux at about 1 am. finally at 3 am i sat up hoping the reflux would go away and kind of felt this tingling on my belly. put my hand on my bump and lo and behold, i could feel my entire uterus hard like concrete. they were coming pretty regularly every five minute for a while, not painful, but i couldn''t sleep, mainly because i wanted to make sure ginger baby was moving in between the contractions. which he did. then i tried to go back to sleep but couldn''t becuase everytime the contractions happened, i got reflux. so i just sat up and listened to hubby snoring peacefully away until about 6am the contractions sort of slowed down to every 10-15 minutes and i fashioned a mound of pillows so i could doze off without lying down. i slept about an hour, then got up. the contractions are still going, but i''m not really timing them. i think they''re going 15ish minutes or so. not regular so i''m not thinking too much of them. sent hubby off to work assuring him i''d call if anything changed. but also finally packing the hospital bag and doing the last load of laundry though just in case.
5.gif

likely this is just BHs and i''ll probably be doing this for days to weeks, but i''m just happy SOMETHING is happening! and glad my uterus knows how to contract
3.gif
though ideally, these practice runs would happen during the day so i can get some sleep!

oof...contracting...it''s weird. the biggest sign i''m contracting is that i start burping. then i notice the tingly tummy and have to touch the belly to feel the contraction. not what i was expecting.

qt - seems my doc is ok with inducing after 39 weeks also since she brought the topic up. but i''m comfortable enough to wait to 40 right now. i like the plan we have in place, and i hear ya that it''s nice to have a end date in place. makes the waiting more bearable
1.gif

mtj - yay for being off work! lol on the visual of a door slowly opening
9.gif

rps - i''m pretty happy with the plan. i think it''s reasonable and she brought it up herself so i''m happy that my thoughts and my doctors thoughts are meshing well
1.gif
. i''m actually really comfortable, and can even still sleep on my back (at least i was before last night) but even with more of these contraction dealies i''m not so uncomfortable that i feel the need to do anything about it. the hip pain with rolling over in bed seems to come in waves of a week or two at a time. right now i''m at a less painful week so it''s all good
9.gif
. lol on the facebook stalker. i''ve been avoiding it also because i don''t want people posting about it because i haven''t announced that we''re preggo because i have aquaintances as well as friends and family, and i feel this is a private matter that if i want to tell you, i''d do it personally.

mara - lol on appeasing the ps baking gods. i was desperate enough this week to buy all the making for pumpkin cheesecake muffins, which i''m planning to bake on sunday if nothing has happened. just to see if things would get jumpstarted. i guess we''ll see if the plan works for you!

steph - glad to hear you and evan are doing well! can''t wait for pics!!!

bah. eaten post
14.gif

basically, i was just saying,

Man it's exciting around here!!

steph, can't wait to get a glimpse of baby evan and I hope that he continues to feed like a champ

mara, bake, bake, bake
2.gif

ginger - definitely sounds like ginger baby is debating his debut! keep us posted!

cara, ms is miserable and especially if you have to be at work. I needed to eat before I left the house in the morning otherwise it was not pleasant. I could only stand carbs, so that meant that cereal, frozen waffles, oatmeal worked well. During the day, I snacked often on these goldfish-like crackers. I tried to some carrots, grapes, apples, but my body only wanted carbs
20.gif
. It does get better.

bpf contribution coming soon.

Thank you Ladies! I feel sorta guilty being off of work. Am I being weird? I remember the doc asking me, a month ago, when I wanted to be off and he was already putting a month off but I told him a week before my due date. So, then when I went to the appt. I asked to be off already cuz I am sooo uncomfortable and feel like a sloth! But, I gotta think of this baby cuz I don''t want my water to break at work!
6.gif

Mara-I hope that are next! I am scared to be next cuz I feel that everything is happening SO fast! LOL...But, lets see if this door wants to open faster or take it''s time to slowly open! I feel that this bebe is eager to be born and meet everyone!
12.gif

gingerb-LOL, I had to be less graphic!
16.gif

RPS-I need to CLEAN!!!
3.gif
to distract myself! I couldn''t eat yesterday cuz I was so nervous! I am such a worrywart!

RPS-I just read your post. Sorry, I get those comments and I get them from everyone at work. They were amazed that I was still working. They would ask if I had stuff ready and I would say no, I don''t have my S$%t together. Just asking me those annoying questions and crap. But, I guess now that I am off and this next week was supposed to be my week off they can wonder what happened to me when they don''t see me!
36.gif
My boss is very discreet and won''t make comments but just say that I am off til blah blah. Hang in there missy you will have a wonderful homebirth! You are a tuff cookie!
9.gif

ginger, I hope this is it for you! With my first, my contractions NEVER got into a normal pattern. I kept waiting for the 5/1/1 but they were completely erratic. I finally decided it was time to go to the hospital when they became unbearable but there was still no normal pattern to them. So make sure you''re ready to go--just in case!!

Good luck to everyone who is approaching or has passed their due dates. Can''t wait to meet some more babies!!

not nearly as exciting as labor and newborns, but my DH does make a sweet appearance. He is *very* excited. melts my heart really.

lulu- That is my favorite BPF pic EVER!!
12.gif
So freaking cute. DH has begun kissing my forehead/head a lot more since being pregnant. Has you DH always done that?

lulu, I agree--best BPF picture ever!!!! Soooo sweet. And your belly is tiny! Looking good, girl!

Oh this is a big fat ditto! Lulu, that is so sweet! I may have to include DH in some of my belly pics now - I swear he touches my stomach more than I do.

And mere, my DH totally does. He is SO much more affectionate now, and that''s saying a lot, because he was even before.

Lulu, SO cute! I love it! DH and I have been taking Belly pics and mine look more like mug shots than art!

CUTE PIC!

Lulu...

Hi ladies! I haven''t been posting much since I had my LO eight weeks ago. I keep checking back to see who''s had their babies, though!

Tonight is a full moon!!! Lots of babies are born when there is a full moon...

Lulu~Adorable pic!! You look great!

Steph~Can''t wait for that pic!

Ginger~Sounds like you''re making progress! Yay!!

There have got to be some PS babies born by the end of the weekend....Mara, glad you decided to bake cookies!

My appt. yesterday was uneventful. We decided to not check me because I didn''t want to be disappointed. I have another appt next Thursday so he''ll check me then. I did start having actual painful contractions for a while last night but they went away and I actually even slept fairly well. I need to go take my belly pic. BBL...

Ginger! Sounds promising!!! If you don''t show on Sunday, we''ll know something''s up! As for inducing- I was really against it and my dr knew that, so she let me go as long as possible. I think she would have let me go to 41 or 42 weeks, but at 10 days overdue my fluids were really low so we ended up inducing. I think you''re going to go naturally though!

Lulu- Sweetest pic ever. I can''t wait to see your newborn pictures, I love your photographic style.

Full moon- I was secretly hoping this would work for me b/c it fell on my due date! But I don''t think I ever would have gone into labor naturally, so here''s hoping it works for someone on this thread!

ooh ginger!! you are showing progress. i totally know what you mean re: the contractions. honestly they are not what i expected YET as well. i think what you are having is a lot of what i have been having this week. they aren't PAINFUL just uncomfortable and actually because our kid moves SOOO much it takes me a while to even notice something is happening to the belly that may not be him. i was like what is my belly doing. and i didn't bother timing because like i told Greg, if it moves to painful or OMG this really hurts then i know to pay more attn. but if i paid attn to every time my belly hardened this week, man i'd be a total basket case!

that is my biggest issue, i was telling Alj this morning. i kind of wish i just was showing no progress because i already have an induction date in one week. so i have a finite period of time to look at, aka i can make it one week. but all this 'is it isn't it' really wears on me. i don't want to leave the house for too long, don't want to drive anywhere far by myself (and greg works 45 min away so seeing him for lunch is out of the question hehe)... because this is my 'first time' i don't even know what to expect! but if it was like NOTHING then boom labor at least you aren't stuck in this weird holding pattern. but maybe grass is greener. hehe.

and to be really honest, i don't WANT to be induced. i want to go into this naturally if possible. but i also don't want to be waiting another 2 weeks for this kid to come out.

oh and i mentioned my mom is all hot and heavy on the baby coming on the 30th because it is her father's bday and she adored her dad and i was his fave gchild (died when i was 1) etc etc and honestly i don't want the kid to be born on that date because it just FEELS WEIRD now. thanks mom! i know rationally it doesn't make sense but i just would never hear the end of it if he was born on the same day as her dad.

greg says the kid is paid up on belly rent through the 30th and wants to get his money's worth. HAHA. i've decided to try to be more zen about the whole thing and see what happens this wkd. the back pains and tightenings are still continuing this morning but again, nothing impressive yet.

i made my cookies, double dark chocolate oatmeal choco chips. they were tasty. i took a nap. i made breakfast. i might meet greg for lunch. we are going to see my friend in the hospital this afternoon and meet her new boy.

oh mtj... people kept asking me what i was doing at work and Greg's work kept asking him why i was still working! i took 2 weeks only and it is really just enough for me, i think i would have been sooo bored to have a full month off. i am already bored, i love my job to keep my mind busy. but i love not having to get ready for work anymore. hehhe.

rps...i am getting those 'still no baby' yet comments too daily now..driving me crazy. even our neighbor like 3 doors down yesterday stopped his car to be like NO BABY YET. grrrr. no i'm hiding him in a special belly sling. duh people. and my mom keeps calling me, i just started ignoring her call. seriously, i told her yest i would call her from HOME before we even go to the hospital. this is why i am so anxious!

My terrible phone belly pic. I''m 37w5d.

burkbelly375wk.jpg

MP- Our DH's seem to be reacting the same way. I love it. Maybe it is a first baby thing.

Mara- Is your mom a Pisces? I completely understnad you not wanting your LO to be born on the 30th. It would be brought up at every birthday from here on out. We Pisces make emotional attachments to things just because that is how we are wired, and many of the older Pisces don't realize that lots of these connections may be extremely morbid. My grandmother, who is Pisces as well, talks about my late grandfather at EVERY family function, and how she "knows" he wishes he could be there. In her eyes, it is just allowing her to still feel like he is with us, but to everyone else, though sweet, it's just a bit odd, now that he has been gone since 1996.

RPS- Sorry about the people that are annoying you. Facebook can be a pain liek that. Luckily I have you all to point these things out to me, and I NEVER make these comments to my "on the brink" preggo friends! Thanks
2.gif

Burk- You look great!

Here I am: 27w2d! Baby Christopher has decided to move up out of my pelvis, and I finally "look" pregnant.
9.gif

Also, when did you all begin to get BH? That is when your stomach gets REALLY hard, right? I have been having them for weeks, mainly after DTD (TMI sorry) and getting up quickly from a chair. However, I realized this week, that they are happening anytime I walk briskly or walk up stairs, or anything remotely related to exercise. It wasn't bothering me until I read somewhere, that when this happens, the baby can't move. Should I be worried that these are happening daily already?

Mer at 27w 2d 01.29.10.JPG

mara - yup. no pain just hardenings. erratic, but happening about every 10 - 20 minutes still right now. not expecting this is labor but it did get my butt moving to be ready just in case
5.gif
. i have the same thing with him being so active. i haven't been paying too much attn to my belly these past few months because its always him just wiggling etc. this feels different and i'm just casually glancing at the clock to see when i DO notice. to pick up all of them i'd need to tape my hand to my belly and do nothing but sit and wait. that's drive me insane. if it changes to painful then i'll be more vigilant. right now i'm just continuing to go about my day, but def not driving too far by myself unless these really REALLY calm down.

china - unless i'm in the hospital i'm planning to be there!!!

burk
- super cute belly as usual. i feel ya on being disappointed. i was really bummed after my appt yesterday. i didn't want to be alone after and sit around and mope so i decided to take the bull by the horns and
1) tempted fate by driving 40 minutes to meet up a girlfriend for lunch (stressed so pigged out on a carb heavy lunch)
2) took a LONG spin around the mall for the extra walking and retail therapy
12.gif
.
3) then came home and went out with hubbs to a nice dinner (thinking of kaleigh's story
5.gif
)
4) then was a naughty preggo by going for a latte (fully caffeinated please) and some tiramisu
11.gif
for after dinner
5) THEN i jumped hubbs and demanded he get this show on the road
3.gif
which he happily complied with
3.gif

looks like SOMETHING worked
9.gif

lulu - BIG ditto on sweetest belly pic ever!

curly - thanks for letting me know about your erratic contractions. i will def keep that in mind!!

so in celebration of FINALLY showing some progress, i''m sneaking this past hubbs...shhhhh!
11.gif
38w2d. you can see evidence of my nesting frenzy these past 2 weeks as well as my partially packed hospital bag in the background

OBs have different practices but I was told to put in a call if the BH occur frequently and consistently over the course of an hour.

burk - looking good as usual!

meresal - yay for showing!

gingerb - you look fan-freakin-tastic!
36.gif
i'm so happy to finally see a pic of you, especially since i might miss you this weekend if you go into labor
5.gif

meresal~You look cute...love the little bump! Re BH I would ask your doctor but doubt it''s anything to really worry about unless they''re consistent and frequent like fiery said.

ginger~I like the way you work!! I, too, had food therapy (even ignored my no corn or dairy diet for a meal!!.
11.gif
I had plans for #5 however I was having some actual painful contractions at that time but you better believe we''ll be putting that part of your plan in effect tonight!
16.gif
You look terrific! Glad you posted a belly pic.

You ladies look awesome! Looks like there is another PS baby boom!!!

love all of the bellies and the fact that so many of them will soon be unoccupied!!!!

thanks for all the kind comments about my photo. my husband has always been sweet and affectionate (forhead kisses, etc.) but he is just completely and utterly thrilled that we're having a little kiddo. I think now that my bump is growing it's all becoming a lot more real. He likes to say that after I fall asleep he and the bundle have heart-to-hearts.
9.gif

GINGER you look awesome lookit that belly...yay i am so happy we got to see a pic!! i love seeing your eye. greg is always making fun of me for hiding my face when i take my iphone pic since PS'ers know what i look like mostly anyway, but jeez i just look so silly trying to concentrate with the phone hahaa.

and ROFL on the motivation... yeah i tried for #5 last nite too but i was a little freaked out by having contractions and doing that and i think greg was freaked out too HAHA. so maybe tonite.

today i have NO motivation. i am like...jeez i am just tired of the up and down, so whatever. kid will come when he wants I GUESS. stubborn like me and daddy!

meresal...you look super cute. and yeah...i am just not keen on the 30th even though that is a good date (1/30 seems fun!) because of the g'pa correlation. i want our kid to have his OWN bday.

burk...you look fab as usual!! love the bellies.

lulu that is such a cute pic..!! greg got soo much more into it when he saw the belly growing and esp when he could 'interact' more with the baby. now he is just so excited to meet his son.

i haven't showered yet today (LOL) but when we go visit the hospital later i will try to get an iphone photo. hopefully my LAST one. jeez. in the meantime i will just eat cookies!

luLu - Love your BPF pics. Look professional almost. Really sweet.
Burk - Your belly is adorable
Meresal - Look like your bump rounded out a bit this week.
GingerB - Your belly is so tiny for 38 weeks. Super cute. Glad you posted the pic.

Went to dr. appointment today, and still have no progress. Dr. joked that my cervix is pathetic and that I might've gone backward. hehe. So we scheduled an induction for Monday if the baby doesn't come by this weekend.

Aw, I love all the pics! You all look GREAT! I figured I''d better post some pics because maybe this will be the last BPF for me (trying to think positively here).

I realized in comparing this pic to one from a couple of weeks ago that the little guy has moved down a *little* bit.
