LIA-If I remember correctly you, also, are a physician...which would explain the inordinate number of needle sticks! I am glad that I avoided those by my choice of profession!

I keep popping in looking for vespergirl. I hope that she is, indeed, now holding her newborn, second, son!

Thanks all for the thoughts and dust re: my little needle stick fiasco yesterday. Fortunately, the HIV test came back negative! Hepatitis panels still pending, but she was negative just a couple weeks ago and likely still the case now. My hubby and I are so relieved! It still feels weird to think I have been exposed to someone else''s blood, though.

Love all of the upcoming gender scans!! I really want to guess, but cannot bring myself to commit

All of the PS ladies that waited until delivery I guessed correctly, but somehow I don''t have a good gender vibe for anyone this early in the pregnancy.

drk- five sticks?! eeek. This was my first. I sure have great timing though?!

vesper- we''re all sending you our thoughts and tons of ps dust for an easy delivery. Can''t wait to hear from you!
 
icekid~ Whew! What a relief!! I''m glad that they were able to collect the patients blood before she left. I can''t imagine how it would feel if you had to keep waiting and waiting for your own test results to see if anything had been contracted.

vesper~ I''m sure you''re holding your little boy now. Sending lots of quick recovery vibes to you!

Thank you for all of your comments! All I can say, is that if you are looking to be talked OUT of having another baby... DO NOT come to me! I would talk anyone into it at this point!

October, I love Ina May''s Guide to Childbirth, it deals more with the end stage, but I personally never found that what week I was on in a book/website had anything to do with what I was feeling so since they made me feel weird I eventually ignored.

I''m 39 weeks! Can''t believe it, but got checked today and no dilation though the cervix is soft and he is way down. His hiccups are indescribably low! OB predicts "an 8 pounder" and yeah, that he will come a week after due date, so no hurries here and I keep going to work for no particular reason. But am really looking forward to 8 months of maternity leave with half pay. woot woot.

Baby connor samson was born at 6:58 pm on wed. Apr. 28. He is 22" long and weighs 9 lb. 13 oz! We are both doing great - I''ll try to post a pic tomorrow and birth story this weekend!

VESPER: congrats congrats congrats! glad you are both doing well...can''t wait to see pics and hear your story! thanks for letting us know he arrived safely.

MER: aaaawwww...he is just a beautiful baby!!

AGBF: yup, i''m a dermatologist. which thankfully means that most of my needle sticks have been from lower-risk tiny needles (the larger hollow ones that have been used to draw blood/body fluids up in are much more dangerous)! but unfortunately, i tend to be very clumsy!

SWIMMER: thanks! i canNOT believe you are already 39 weeks. you know...when someone THINKs she''s going to deliver late, she''s sometimes the one who gets surprised!! keep us posted. :)

CARA: updates??? (snlee posted on facebook, so not in suspense there anymore!)...

Oh boy, I'm having another BOY!

DH and I are so excited! So cute to hear our 19 month old say broder! I'm sure he'll love having a little brother and I'm looking forward to having two boys!

The good news is my cervix is looking good. Transvaginal ultrasounds suck though and looks like I'll be getting LOTS of them since they are more accurate than abdominal ultrasounds to get cervical lengths.

The bad news is that I have placenta previa. My placenta is covering my cervix. No sex for me. I was pretty disappointed to hear this news, as I really want to try to have another natural vaginal birth. It's early so there is a chance that the placenta will move up as I get bigger. Keeping my fingers crossed. Just really bummed I have something else to worry about! And if the placenta doesn't move up in the next few weeks, it's another thing to consider as I'm thinking about whether or not to get the progesterone shots. Also, I have an anterior placenta so I'm not feeling the baby's movements as strong. It was in the front during my first pregnancy too.
