Colored Stone E-rings/Eyecandy

Whoops. TANZANITE

New favourite piece - stumbled across a perfectly sized, 5ct unheated blue Ceylon sapphire to replace a dark, included, heated original stone. One in a million chance. 147AF54C-B8C8-44EA-9B59-4203FA421C78.jpegC32EF1FC-CFD5-447B-91DB-2C377C685521.jpeg0D573B50-8CC2-45AC-A42E-04C5E46F6E2E.jpeg

I just received my new 3.5ct purple spinel ring. Set in RG with metal milgrain halo and small diamonds on the side. Surprisingly, the colour of the stone and RG goes well together. Stone and customised setting by Instagram seller thegemcollector 8-)

I love the color of your spinel plus the diamonds around it compliments with the main stone. lovely.

Thank you @beatricecrummles ! I am extremely pleased with this ring. The different components of the ring flowed nicely into each other. There is absolutely nothing I wish to alter, which has unusual for me when it comes to customised settings.

Im in the process of re-making my e-ring. I started a thread in RockyTalk but then realized I should have posted it here in the colored gemstones section instead. I'm attempting to create a U prong ring with a yellow sapphire octagon cut center with diamond sides and diamond side stones. It's coming along slowly since Im having the mounting custom made. But here are the specs

  • Center is a 3.35 ct yellow octagon cut sapphire . The dimensions are 7.96 x 7.71 x 5.96.
  • Two side diamonds are .31ct each and dimensions are: 4.34 x 4.36 x 2.66 mm and 4.35 x 4.36 x 2.66 mm.
  • 6 melee diamonds are 3.0 mm in size (.10 cts each)

I'll update this thread instead of Rocky Talk as the project develops.

Oooh, show us the stone! We need to see the centerpiece and the color, lol!

Look forward to seeing it!

Hi everyone...I've just approved the final version of the ring. Here's what it's looking like

Hi Everyone----Here are the final renderings that I just approved. They put in the stones and it's exactly what I have envisioned. I'm so pleased. It took a lot of back and forth to get here but this is EXACTLY what I want. I've also included specs on the sapphire and two side stones. The photos I took of the sapphire seem to give it a brown tinge, but there's no brown in it at all. It's actually a soft but vivid yellow.

This sapphire trilogy in halo I got from Amy Buttons from Instagram/Etsy.

@reyasjose that’s a lovely sapphire with diamond halo. What size / weight is the sapphire? Am still trying to decide what to do with my little 1.5ct one.

Thank you, @Ionysis ! It’s a little over 1 carat. In our country’s standards, this one is big so I seldom wear it.

Looks like a perfect size to me and what a beautiful colour

It’s like cornflower blue when I took a picture while I was waiting for my date, in the car, direct sunlight. Thanks.

Hi All---Here are the pics and details on the finished engagement ring re-make. 3.35 ct octagon cut unheated/untreated vivid yellow eye-clean Ceylon sapphire, two .31 ct (each) E/IF H&A side stones and .60 ct (.10 ct each) H&A E/VVS melee stones (both sets of diamonds courtesy of Karen Rosengart) along the shank. I tried photographing in various lighting conditions, but of course, since Im not a professional photographer I can't capture the intensity of the sapphire and diamonds. On the train ride home yesterday after getting the three larger stones set, the sun was peeking through the window and I held my hand up to the light. I was just moved to see a rainbow effect of colors under the sapphire. Wasn't sure if those were the flashes due to the H&A sides or what, but it was simply breathtaking. This is such a perfect ring to me and I am thrilled that this project captured my vision. I told my husband that I'll take a 2 year break and come back to him to replace the yellow sapphire for the yellow diamond that I saw at the jewelry shop that set the stones. Needless to say, he wasn't amused!

beautiful :kiss2: May you enjoy her for many years to come.

I have lurked here for about 8 yrs (yikes)! This is my wedding ring we had made after we eloped 9 yrs ago and before I knew much about colored stones!
I need to clean it, the one diamond that looks weird, looks normal usually, lol.
We worked with a jeweler here in town to design it.
Now I am looking at designing one for our 10 year anniversary!!E8A1C5C8-6462-47DA-A978-4A16EA3D6E34.jpegC1988282-F112-4739-83E9-1E9CAD9C3154.jpeg39B18FE3-957B-4624-AAD8-F3D946F443FB.jpeg

Here is my new queen! 2.26 sapphire and 1.1 and 1.05 diamond shoulders. I love her as she looks antique which was the style I wanted. Love looking at all the rings!! 47D84C2F-ADC0-492B-9E7E-A75CE04858C3.jpeg11E62147-E5EA-47FA-A26E-35E6EF190B67.jpeg

Yass, Queen !!
