Come meet The Demon''s new brother!!!

This morning the happy hubby and I went to a multi-shelter adoption event looking for a brother or a sister for The Demon. We left the house thinking "adult female dog" and we end up with "5 month old male puppy" (???

???) The two seem to be getting along very well, with the obligatory introductory humping and all that, LOL. All they could tell us about Oscar is that he''s got some chow in him (hence the blue tongue) but other than that his "breed" is anybody''s guess. He''s truly a sweet dog!

Harriet, he indeed might outgrow the Demon! His paws aren''t terribly out of proportion though to maybe he won''t get TOO much bigger (she says hopefully!)

Well a family nap sounded like a good idea until Oscar discovered that the bedroom is where we keep the *basket of toys.* There was a bit of tussling over the favorite big pink snake and the hog pelt (it used to be a stuffed hog, but the only thing left now that the squeaker and the stuffing is gone is the pelt, LOL).

OMG!

He looks sooooo much like my parents dog Sammy. Sammy doesn''t have that marbling but other than that they could be twin brothers! I''m thinking shepard and some kind of hound. The marbling ought to be a good clue to the mix. That tongue thing seems to be a very strong gene, so he may not have very much Chow in him. What''s his tail like?


The toy thing could be a problem. Sammy shreds every single toy he can get ahold of except for this one toy that (I think) is made out of fire hose material and comes with a 15(?) day shred-proof guarantee. He''s still carrying that one around. I''ll see if I can find it on the web.

Oscar is a beautiful fur baby! Congrats, Dee Jay! I''m sure the Demon will appreciate the company. When we got our new puppy (a female beagle) for our 3 year old male beagle, we thought for the first few months it was a mistake because she was so dominant with him and he hated her. As time has gone by, though, they are becoming inseparable and we''re so glad. Best of luck with the dogs, I hope your home doesn''t end up in shreds, lol!
