Oops! I couldn't delete this after realizing that I attached the wrong image file when asking about how to add it to the gallery.

Good day :-)

I am attempting to add a photo to the engagement ring gallery, but I can''t find the albums mentioned in the response to another poster who posed a similar question. In short, I can''t seem to find a way to add my pic.

What is the exact link hierarchy? Alternately, would it be possible to put a "Submit to Gallery" link on the top level of the gallery home page, wherein the uploaded file must be "filed" by the user using a drop-down list of gallery headings (so that it lands in the correct spot)?

Thanks!

i think when the gallery was started only those with ''ideal rock'' status could post pics in the gallery. perhaps that is still the case and thus the reason you are not able to post.

Oooooh GemView, I love the parakeet in your avatar

Thanks for the compliment on my bird, Sky. I have six parakeets, a dog and several cats. Pets, jewelry and the great outdoors — I love ''em all.

That would certainly explain a lot! I joined PS about six months ago, but post-wise I'm nowhere near the level of post of most of the folks around here! I joined last year to find info. to help my busy boyfriend select a diamond I could love for a lifetime. Since then, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed learning and looking at the beautiful photos.

I suspected I may not qualify to post in the gallery, but when I came here to check the FAQ I didn't see anything that forbid Rough Rocks from doing so. I was hopeful that the gallery selections had more to do with the quality of the images (the use of photos that are in focus and/or that have artistic appeal). Oh well. At least I was able to post some pics over in the "» Show Me the Ring » The Forum E-RING FOLDER/Eye Candy folder," so I suppose that's enough. I didn't get any comments on them though.

Forgive me if I seem a tad disappointed. Before I could post any pics, I had to wait nearly six months — until Valentine’s Day earlier this month — for my boyfriend of five years to pop the question. Next, it took about a week of failed efforts before I successfully received the PS email reminder with my login info. (I lost it to a computer crash). So on the one hand, I have to admit to chomping at the bit to get these photos posted (not to mention that they took a lot of effort to shoot with my dying six-year-old 1.3 megapixel camera, which is insufficient for this type of photography). On the other hand, because I am a Rough Rock, I want to be respectful of the proper place to post about recent engagements or e-ring photos. As a result, after discovering the “Show Me the Ring” thread, I opted not to start a new thread to share my e-ring photos. Would it have been okay to start a new thread instead?

Thanks for the reply, belle!

Note to Leonid/PriceScope Admin

Regarding the brag-shamelessly-about-your-engagement-ring folder: I noticed a number of jewelry pics other than e-rings.

Additionally, because the majority of images in the thread are currently being culled from other threads, there isn't much of a discussion taking place because the folks who took the pictures aren't necessarily responsible for posting them. It would be nice, IMHO, to organize a "Show me the bracelet", "Show me the Necklace", "Show me the Earrings", “Show me the Pendant” and "Show me the Colored Gemstones" folder so that those who have a specific interest can explore, view or discuss them. (I have a background in Web admin, too. I hope this tidbit explains where my hairbrained suggestions are coming from as of late

!) Last but not least, can you verify whether or not Rough Rocks are permitted to post in the Gallery?
