She started modeling as a teenager, she probably hadn't finished going through puberty.

i think they''re real too (the b*tch, lol). note how they''re not quite even/symmetrical, and also how they don''t appear to be just randomly stuck onto her chest cavity like a tail pinned on a donkey. they flow.

OMG WTF is wrong with me? lol

I concur, Counselor. They do not look like jawbreakers, the fullness is on the lower half of the boob. Jeesh, perhaps I think about this stuff too much, ya think?!?

Calm down Reena, stunning though Tyra is, she isn''t perfect.....look at that cavern of a belly button....and that mini-penis hanging in it
emsmile.gif

you can tell cuz they have what i call flapability.....like you could lift that lower portion up and away......implants are just round, no lift whatsoever.......i would wonder what''s wrong with me, but in my occupation, i lift..........

whooo, glad i don''t have that!!!!

Yeah, I read Tyra''s book and she said they were real. Course, that doesn''t necessarily mean she''s telling the truth (Pam A, anyone??
2.gif
) but that''s what I read.

As for me....if I had a million dollars, I''d totally go for some cosmetic surgery. I''d start with Lasik and veneers, and laser hair removal from like, the eyes down. I''d get a brow-lift, not the make-my-face-look-younger kind but the give-my-eyebrows-an-arch kind. And I''d refine my chin. Off to the lipo! Abdomen, back, butt, thighs, knees (I have stretch marks on my knees, wtf?? I don''t weigh THAT much!!!
29.gif
) and hips. If I could be convinced that it wasn''t the stupidest, most complicated surgery yet, I''d get butt implants to help these pancakes fill out some jeans!
20.gif

I''m unsure on the boob job. On the one hand, I wouldn''t mind having gravity-defying boobs, and I wouldn''t go much bigger than I am, just poofier. On the other...well, I got a pretty nice pair, already,
31.gif
and I''m afraid having them be poofier wouldn''t do much besides just make ''em look fake. Sigh.
15.gif

Sometimes I wish I had a seriously messed-up feature (like no teeth, or covered in moles or acne scars, or a crazy witch nose) so I could be considered a contestant for The Swan...as it stands, without being totally stuck on myself, I''m too pretty for the show.
7.gif
Too bad, I''d love a half mil in free cosmetic surgery and three months to do nothing but focus on myself with a trainer to whip me into kick-ass shape...

what about the tear-drop shaped implants? do those lift?

No, those still don''t lift. The only difference is, they''re not as full "up top"...on the bit of your chest under the collarbone...so they gradually get fuller, instead of looking like somebody stuck half a cantaloupe on your chest and covered it with skin.
2.gif

They look MORE realistic, but they still don''t flap.

I tell my bf that''s how you check for real boobies...ALL real boobies hang. Even itty bitty titties. Right, reena? Ten bucks says even your "double-a batteries" (lol) have a crease under ''em.
2.gif

AND they can get turned (yes, really) THAT doesn''t look too realistic!!!

ahhh! no, i don''t think mine do! like, i totally fail the pencil test if that''s what you mean.
7.gif

rofl...........i''m crying!!!!!
39.gif

lol. no, of course you''d fail the pencil test, hell, *I* fail the pencil test...you gotta have some serious crease-age to pass.
2.gif

But by a crease, I mean, if you''re standing naked looking in the mirror, the bottom of your boobs rest against your chest...instead of levitating, like fake boobies do.

lol, if my bf knew we were talking about boobies, I bet he''d get a whole lot more interest in PS!!

.........everybody''s gone to get pencils and mirrors...........

I had to say that I have honestly been thinking about SEVERAL procedures, and am so glad somone discusses it. My boyfriend and I have been arguing over my wanting a boob job. He says no way and I can think of NOTHING else. We have agreed that we will revisit it, after we have all the kids (3 or so), and then i can get the work I need....

Actually, Like Feydakin, I was terrified of dentists, so I may be getting braces soon, as I still have a baby tooth that never was pulled and an adult tooth that has grown in behind it... it''s such a bother seeing it everyday!!!! I HATE it.

my nose was broken as a kid, so that needs work, as well as Lasik, and one day...ONE DAY, I want to have a butt lift. My butt is WAY too saggy for someone my age, and I NEED it!!!

As for boobs I hear that children make them larger, and if you breastfeed they reduce, but if you don''t they remain.... At least that what my DD mom says... (I have a little B batteries) and a DD butt to match!!!!!

No hang whatsoever here. None. Zilcho. Nothing for gravity to act upon.

Even if I wanted to get breast implants, to have them done right I would have to have the skin expanded first, lest I end up with the dreaded "two jawbreakers stuffed under the chest skin" look, a la Posh Spice.

Some of my closest friends are men, and a few of them have told me that they do not like the way their wive''s implants feel. They would never say anything to their wives, it would really hurt their feelings, but it is something to consider, especially if breasts are a big part of your sex life. Just throwin'' that out there.

lol, i am dying here! i love this thread--hilarious! LMBO re: posh spice and the jawbreakers. i hadn''t even considered needing a skin graft!

i''m headed home to check for a crease in the mirror.

cosmetic surgery has to be one of the most depressing realities of the modern world. the industry is nothing more than a bunch of vulture ''doctors'' preying on people''s insecurity and offering false hopes of happiness. that said, in a free society you can not ban it, I just lament for any society where this would be socially acceptable. it is a society that does not value humanity in any way, shape or form. it is an outward symbol of an utterly shallow, infantile society that places satisfying the demands of the id as the sole reason for our existence, and which deems any measure of self-control an abhorrent repression. and that is not to mention that the utter decadence is simply beyond my comprehension... I despair

whatever happened to the maxim: "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" ???

It went out with the expectation that we all look like life-sized Barbie dolls.

The beholder went blind with all the ugly!

I don''t agree. i think that beauty is not only just a thing to appreciate but it is also a tool. If you have a toothache, and you have the ability to go get it checked and fixed, so you don''t lose your teeth you go. Why? because you don''t want to be toothless/ yes, and also you NEED your teeth. Some people use their appearances for their advantage.

No offense, but it is often known that many people respond much better to those who have symmetrical faces and appealing features. Youth is also a beauty feature. So, anyone in sales of ANYTHING, or even someone who wants to market themself for a better job, a better ANYTHING, may need that beauty as a tool. We were given every part on our body for use, why should the aggregate of the parts be any different?

Hands for eating, feet for walking, beauty for pleasing. And the beholder is the person looking in the mirror. If they don''t like their parts in the sum or not, they have the right to do something to "fix" them, just as they would a bad tooth. Nature intended us to be imperfect, but there is nothing wrong with correcting something that happen with neglect and time, within reason.

I personally appreciate beauty in all it''s forms. I hate to admit it, but I can admire a beautiful woman as much a an attractive man. Anything that looks fake and detectable is not attractive to me. It''s like someone wearing too much makeup or overdoing jewelery and it looks forced. if you can fix some things on yourself and still manage to look like nature has been kind, then MORE POWER TO YOU! if you think I am shallow, then consider letting your teeth fall out and see how attractive that looks.

i think braces would be the most widely accepted form of cosmetic enhancement...........and parents pay for their children to have them.........

I agree somewhat with HGL...

Why bother to dress up for interviews if people will just read your resume? In fact, why bother dressing up EVER? It's all vanity. Why even wash your face if it's dirty? People should be happy with who they are inside and dirt and clothes being stinky should have no effect on anything. Let's all let go and get slobby!

Sorry, but I think just as important as it is to brush your teeth and press your clothes, I think it's important to look attractive, fit and presentable... even if it means getting some things done. If humans were all heart and had no eyes, then this would be moot, but that's not the case. Everyone just has different tolerances, so the child who gets cosmetic surgery for a large facial birthmark, or for a lopsided facial feature is not vain, than the woman who gets a chin lift. Everyone wants to look their best, and some simply have the means and will to do more.

I am soon getting cosmetic dental work, and if I am vain and awful for wanting to be beautiful on my wedding day (and as long as I can), then let me live with my shame...and my dazzling smile!!

Whats this pencil test? Ive never heard of that, but i know what you are getting at GG with the crease thing.

TURNED??? ewwwww!!!!! hahaha... i think i''d freak if i saw someone like that!!

btw, the most awful boob job i''ve ever seen was on this girl at a club.... there were serious CRINKLES on the top of her boobs! like how the edges of a cushion looks, but hard.

I hate to be so "Springer" but yes breasts are a MAJOR part of the sex life, and my DF is so against the "unnatural feel'' that I worry about it. How bad is it really? Has anyone ever felt the difference? What can they describe it as?

Honestly, I am actually looking to get them, as i have always felt under proportioned, and would love to look like a girl, since i seem to have all the other curves everywhere else...
20.gif
Also, what places is the best to get them done, and what types are there that are safest?

I was once told that they can be inserted under the chest muscle, and that makes them seem much more realistic, instead a "balloon boobs" like Pam A and the like... Is that more painful, safer, or worse???

Have to say I have similar sentiments to diamondgeezer - maybe not quite as negative. (I''m a guy, by the way.)

The media and marketing has always manipulated concepts of beauty in our society, but to move cosmetic surgery into what''s the norm - I find this very disturbing.

The warning I have to say is on cosmetic enhancements that make you look very unnatural. I think people are too nice to say when things don''t look good. The people who say it looks good are already buying into the artificial look.

Saw a couple on tv, both plastic surgeons specializing in lips. Thought the lady looked freakish - obviously had an enhancement herself. I guess some women would see her lips and want the same, but "weird" is how I would describe the look.

Have never watched "The Swan" but was very disturbed when I heard the concept. I think my problem with reality shows, is that people don''t even understand there are moral issues with what is being presented. I think we''re buying into these shows and concepts without even questioning them. The forces behind marketing these ideas has put in way more thought than those to which these ideas are presented.

Not to say appearance isn''t important. In business environments you want to look groomed and professional. It conveys confidence and that you know what you''re doing. Don''t have to be beautiful for this.

ok - enough ranting. Just my 2 cents. Carry on. Nothing to see here.

Z.

overdoing anything is negative... and beauty IS different to some...

Angelina Jloie''s lips are touted as the ideal lips, and some people think they look silly. If they are real (IF), then is it "freakish"? If they are not, does that change the fact that in real life SOMEONE has those lips, to that amount of puffiness...?

I have a girlfriend who is a size 2, tiny waist and DD NATURALLY. She has a barbie doll body, but I wouldn''t call her freakish. Granted she doesn''t often win beauty contests with her smile, BUT, everyone I feel is entitled to their opinions of beauty (whether we agree or not), and the only moral obligation is to the parents who raised a child to dislike themselves for any reason.

Not making a perfect parallel, but it''s like the moral dilemma of sex. The act itself is not wrong, but anyone who does it for the wrong reasons can consider it a moral issue, and can be blasted for their decision. Glad we all have opinions, I just feel people make this topic out to be about vain, selfish silly women, when in reality if any of us were born with a major cosmetic birth defect, it would be OK, but a smaller birth defect seems too much. Who draws the line, and at what? I had a beauty mark removed when i was little...am I vain?

Under the muscle is better. More natural look, no interference with mammography, almost no risk of capsular contracture. I do believe that it is harder to do properly, so finding a good, experienced surgeon would be key. From what I understand, under the muscle hurts A LOT more.

If you consider that natural breast tissue is blood, fatty tissue, and ducting, you can understand why a bag filled with water feels odd. The density and resistance to touch is just different. (yes, I've felt my girlfriend's boobs. You know how we can be.)

It's important to note that my male friends who object were with their wives/girlfriends BEFORE they had their boobs done. They might not have a problem with it if that's all they knew. I dunno. It's such a personal decision. If it's something you really need to do to feel good about yourself, I say go for it. However, if your man thinks you're just right, and likes you just the way you are, that is something to be considered too.
