I like to think I look younger than my age... at least I've been told that a lot. My husband is 29, so everyone assumes we're around the same age, but I'm 35. {sniff sniff} This was taken the night before our wedding a year ago.

Yes, I do. The reason why is simple: I stay out of the sun and do not smoke! The sun and tanning is so bad for your skin. I don't care if I am pale. I would rather be pale and wrinkle free than tanned and wrinkly.

I do think I look younger. I have a baby face and I am plump. I don't have any wrinkles really. My jaw line is the thing that ages me, especially after gaining and losing so much weight with each of my pregnancies (I get fat in the face).

Context matters so much for guessing people's ages. I am a university professor, and I really LOVE telling people what I do for a living because they almost always do a double take and say: "Wow, so young!!" heh heh. People usually assume I am a student at my university. So that makes me feel young, whether or not I look any younger than I actually am. I am 36, which is young for a professor -- I think the average age is late 40s.

My husband looks REALLY young for his age. He gets carded regularly when he buys beer. And the drinking age is only 19!

I think I look older than my age. I have never been carded, not even back when I celebrated my 21st birthday-talk about a bummer! Isn't it supposed to be a rite of passage to get carded when you go out for your 21st?! Haha.

This is one picture where I feel like I MIGHT look close to my age....but even here I think I look older than 25.

Just wait and you will look super young in about 10 years. I am built like you and even have a similar baby face. When I was 20-25, my womanly body made me look older. But now in my mid 30s, I think I look younger than a lot of my peers. And they all got fat so my figure doesn't stand out as much (I have weighed the same since I was 19).

Thanks LLJsmom! I think that the freckles make me look younger, combined with the fact that I've always stayed away from the sun since I tend to burn, so I don't really have wrinkles...yet! For the record, I am 42.

I have been told I look 28 and as high as 35. When i used to go out with my younger brother, I have been told that I look younger than him. Blessed am I.

I got a great compliment from an Asian lady the other day. We know some mutual Asian friends and they are 2-3 yrs younger than me celebrating their 40s!!! She said I looked a lot younger than they do. Yay!!!

I'm sorry I can't share my photo. I have to be very careful...I had troubles several years ago, suffice it to say I was stalked, and regular, boring portrait pictures were used in a negative way against me, a woman did it and she altered pics and shared on-line to harm me. Thankfully, she never knew my name or where I lived, so I was in less fear than I could have been. Still, it was extremely unnerving.

But, I will happily share my bag of tricks!!
Hardly anybody will follow them...they are extreme in a Spartan kind of way, but it is the way I feel happiest to live and have done it since my 20's. My husband does the same things. He is 55 and has been told he looks like he is in his 40's. He has the stamina and energy of a 20 year old, something I admit I don't have. I feel 20, but I don't have endless reserves of energy. There is one difference - he is on a few pharmaceuticals for a chronic health condition; they keep symptoms and suffering at bay and he gets some sun.

1. No sun exposure. I'm very white, and my skin burns.

2. No alcohol or drugs ever...with the exception of drugs taken for extreme pain on occasion for things like injuries or dental work. I enjoy coffee in the morning, yep that's a drug

3. No meat, fish, chicken, eggs or anything containing them...ever. Not a vegan, as I follow a diet that includes cheese and yogurt.

4. 99% of all food bought for cooking at home is organically grown.

5. Daily use of multi-vitamins, minerals, flax seed oil and some herbal supplements

6. Proper balance of rest and activity, stress reduction

7. Swift removal of any toxic relationships

8. Daily reminders to myself of practice of gratitude

I don't think I've ever been carded (I'm so old I can't remember LOL!) but I still get asked how old am I and did I just graduate? from lots of my new patients who are seeing me for the first time. Of course it could just be they have cataracts hahaha. I think I wrote this in another thread but I'm not sure what any age is supposed to look like anymore. We are different than the generations before us in that we are taking better care of ourselves, smoking less, wearing sunblock etc. When our parents were our ages for the most part they looked older.

Ditto Sky on many of her tips though I am not as strict with the vegan diet I try. And sunblock always even in winter. I lack sufficient sleep so that is affecting me I know but I do the best I can. I workout everyday and try to manage stress and do not drink or do drugs and I have never smoked. Genetics plays an important role however so it's not all under our control but we can just do what we can to maintain good health and vitality and let nature take its part for the rest.


Like I said I was never carded but I am told by many that I look younger than my age and my dermatologist said I look 15 years younger skin wise than my peers. I like my age though and am not worried about getting wrinkles or looking older. I hope I am fortunate enough to grow old with my dh (and I don't care how many wrinkles I get as long as I feel good and remain healthy) and enjoy old age!!!
