Does anyone else love the simplicity and elegance of emerald cuts? My engagement ring has an emerald cut set east-west and I love it. I''ve decided to get a pendant this year to match it - what do you think? A RB bezel set and then an emerald cut bezel set north-south.

Do other people have favourite emerald cuts to share? I''d love to see some pictures.

This is a nice emerald cut pendant that I found yesterday.

Where does the pendant picture come from ? It comes with a short animation loop full of nice things!

"bezel" and "emerald cut" demand attention, always

It''s from an Australian jeweller http://www.percymarks.com.au/

Actually, they have a page called Kenneth Mansergh - he was the jeweller who made my engagement ring many moons ago.

WHEN I WAS A LITTLE GIRL ONE OF MY MOTHER''S FRIENDS HAD A 2CT EMERALD CUT SET IN PLATINUM WITH 1CT BAGUETTES ON EACH SIDE. HER WEDDING RING WAS A ROUND CUT ETERNITY BAND, ALSO PLATINUM. DON''T KNOW THE WEIGHT BUT I''VE ALWAYS LOVED THE EC SINCE AND BELIEVE THAT IS THE WEDDING SET OF ALL TIMES!!!!!!!!!

Emerald cuts are absolutely beautful, elegant, timeless stones. i wish I could afford an EC big enough to look good on my pudgy little finger!

Hi:

While travelling to Hawaii a few years ago, I sat next to a nice lady on the airplane--and what was she sporting on pinky finger, RH? Oh just an icy white 4 carat emerald cut diamond. Its beauty was mesmerizing. Have loved EC''s ever since........

cheers--Sharon

Not him!! I nearly bought my woprkshop off that guy.

Better word myself carefully - he comes across well...

Camillia you almost have the intuative skills of our deer Ana in finding the worth of obscure web-sites.

I say almost but I don''t know that for a fact...
It''s because I''m addicted - as if you hadn''t noticed.

What do you think of that ring?

Ana

You seem to like bezel settings - do you think one type of bezel is nicer than another or better than another?

I''ve also decided to get diamond studs this year but RBs. My idea is they''ll match the pendant I have in mind and my rings. Any opinions?

This is another bezel that I like the look of - I don''t know how to describe the different bezels.

I do, oh how I love them. Stuart Moore has a channel set, brushed platinum band with baguettes (same sort of idea) that makes my knees weak. I wish I could post a bloody picture but I don''t think the website lets you copy the images.

OMG (Gosh), I''ve loved emerald cuts since I was a little girl. My new e-ring is a three stone emerald cut, and I''m sooooo happy. "She''s" coming back to me from whiteflash this week, as I''m having them reset "her." I have only these awful pictures for now...I''ll post on the "Show me the ring" string later in the week.

(bad photos below)

Oh CRUD - that came out AWFUL. Let''s try that again. (sorry)

Drool time! I can''t wait to see some more pics of your lovely ring.

Anyone else got some eyecandy to share? Please?

Lurchie - how about a link to the page if you can''t copy the pics?

is that as huge as it looks! and white and amazing!??????????????/

Um, the one in the drawing isn''t mine. That one belongs to Tiffany''s - that center stone has got to be 3 carats plus!!!!

Mine ring is the one I''m wearing. A 1.17 c center stone with .36 c on each side. I love my ring (and I really miss her).

still pretty hefty! where is your ring?

My ring is with whiteflash right now -- they''re resetting it into platinum (was in 14K Yellow)

I hope to have the ring back on my hand by the end of this week, but whose watching the clock?, not me...

That is absolutely gorgeous! And big. My little one in my first post is just a baby in comparison. Lucky you!!!

I can''t see the photo you posted. That seems to happen sometimes when a photo is attached to the first posting of a subject. Very odd, eh?

You''re right - it''s disappeared. I''ll have to repost it when I get home tonight.

Here''s one of my favorite emerald cut rings. . .

I like the second set of earrings you showed better: the bezel style that looks thin from the side rather than boxy. My pendant has the thin style and the culet is actually exposed rather than boxed in. These thinner bezel earrings here would look great as martini-style bezels. . .these will be easier to clean too.

Here''s some other bezels - MichelleCarmen is this what you mean by bezel martinis?

Emerald Cuts. There is a jeweller I must walk past every day on my way home from work and they have a gorgeous ring in the window all I can say is thank god the only late night trading they do is on a Friday when we usually have work drinks and so by the time I get past the shop they''re closed. I am working my up to saving for it and trying to explain to my FI how with 2 diamond ring purchases in the past year (including my e-ring) another ring is really an essential.

This is a picture from www.goodoldgold.com This is the side view of the martini style setting but instead of prongs you can have a bezel around the girdle of the diamond. With this style you can still have access to the pavilion for cleaning and looking at, but the earring lays closer to your earlob, which many ladies prefer. Mine are basket set and I like this style, but I love bezels too and would love a second set of earrings with bezels to match my pendant

I love that emerald ring with the brilliants on the side. A Tiffany, I believe.

I never met an emerald cut I didn''t like. They always amaze me with their simple elegance and beautiful shine.

I know I will never get tired of my ring. I don''t want an upgrade, anniversary band or anything...

Emerald cuts--to me--are just the most elegant of all the stones. Classic...........i like to think they say the wearer is not afraid to go subtle. (poor word choice i know)I have friends who want the biggest round and they just seem gaudy to me.
