Why did I stay away from this thread!
For once, the emerald & princess ring is quite a piece (below). You need to reload that site until the right image turns out - quite worth the patience though. Thanks for bringing this name up
About the earring bezels, well, I definitely like those that tapper like the martini, the other look like small pill boxes on slightly larger stones (5mm is "box"-ish already, I think). Tiffanny''s "by the yard" studs are about the same - they stay nicely on the ear although I am not sure how big they can get before the cone that actually does get inside the earring hole becomes unconfortable. I only have and tried very small ones.
Sometimes that kind of bezel is called "girdle setting" or "hano". My favorite version is a bit different - the peg starts on the metal frame circling the stone, so the culet of the diamond is free of metal and touches the ear. I think this is the most confortable kind for larger stones. The studs by Ritany are done this way, but they also have paved bezels. It is perfectly possible to have these without the pave and with relatively thin bezels if you so wish. The metal peg needs to be angled a bit so that the stone sits staight on the ear (see Ritany earrings for this detail). This is my winning stud recipe, at least.

Camellia, No, I''ve tried on a princess band, but I''ve only popped into some mall jewelers to peer at bands, and they don''t tend to carry anything other than channel set RBs and the occasional princess. Perhaps when we actually set a wedding date I''ll be more aggressive in my search for the right band.

Ever since I saw that Leon Mege I''ve been dreaming about it. I might have to add that to my wish list I think. The only change I''d make is that the diamonds wouldn''t go all the way around - just across the width of my finger. I''d wear it on my RH - middle finger or ring finger? Not sure.
