Ooooooh! What fun!

My absolute favourite is Dior''s ''Hypnotic Poison'' - which has a fabulous exotic, spicy vanilla-based scent (that all men seem to lurrrrve!) and which I can''t get enough of.

I also love & wear Agent Provocateur and Chanel No 5. I still love Obsession, but only wear that in the winter as it''s such a lovely incense-y warm smell.

I love spicy and oriental smells - rarely wear very floral scents and never wear anything fruity.

My FI loves the smell of Body Shop''s White Musk (bizarre, I know but I think his first ever childhood g/f wore it!) so I sometimes wear it as a bit of a treat for him. ;)

He also really loves a perfume called ''Two Hearts Beating as One'' which is a stunning rose & jasmine scent he finds irresistible. Linky.

I''m inspired & going to have to go & put some more perfume on now!

Hehe! Have a squirt for me too Cleo!

I have been reading favourable things about Hypnotic Poison recently, I will have to try it.

I am waiting right now for the postie to bring me a bottle of Quelques Fleurs by Houbigant, and also Jivago 24 as recommended by my lovely DiamondFan.

I am still wearing Chanel No 5, my wonderful Tabac Blond, Vol de Nuit, Habanita and Shalimar at the moment.

Ooh, Lorelei, you should definitely try it - it''s wonderful!

(Two of my best friends have started wearing it since I have... slightly annoyingly! LOL!)

I''m not overly keen on the other varieties of Poison, although I did try the Midnight Poison & thought that was nice... haven''t bought it yet though.

They haven''t made a bottle of Hypnotic Poison big enough for me yet. Oh, and if you like it, do layer it with the bath products - they''re just divine & really enhance the fragrance on your body.

I know I get that with my perfume, friends clamouring to know what it is then they want some!

Have you tried the original Poison? If you want a big perfume, that one is it! I am definitely interested in the HP and I will look out for it.

The Quelques Fleurs is here, so I have sprayed and am waiting for the perfume to unfold....

I'm familiar with the original Poison - but I've never worn it. It certainly is a big scent and really not for me. :)

It makes me think of the 80's there were two big scents then.. Poison and... arghhh!! What was th other one? (Help me out here!)

I don't know about you, but I'm incredibly fussy when it comes to perfume - I usuall either love something or loathe it.

*ETA* Opium!!!!! Phew.. that was driving me nuts. :)

Other big eighties perfumes...Giorgio Beverly Hills, Red, Opium?

I am also incredibly fussy with my perfumes, and I prefer a bit of history to them so I am having fun investigating the oldies at the moment! The only newish one I like is Lipstick Rose, and I would like to try Hermes Kelly Caleche but I am not desperate for that one.

LOL - it was Opium then! I have a bottle lurking somewhere....

Have you ever had a bottle of perfume that you loved initially and then just went right off it?

This has happened to me more then once... most notably with Calvin Klein's 'Escape'.. which I ended up selling to another girl at my college who also wore it. Yuk.

I bought Vera Wang's 'Princess' too, and wore it for a while. I just don't love it now & left it behind in the UK when I came to NZ.. so won't be wearing that one!

Vivienne Westwood's 'Boudoir' is one I have to be in the right mood for.. but I don't know if I'll ever finish a bottle (that's in the UK too!).

I have also given away Hugo Boss 'Red', Aqua di Gio... and goodness knows how many others.

Oh, and I don't like those 'green marine' type scents either. :)

I did have that happen actually with Calvin Klein Obsession Night, I loved it on testing, bought a bottle then when I wore it for the first time, it bored me.

I am on a bit of a journey at the moment investigating old classic perfumes which is great fun.

I don''t like perfumes with a '' marine'' note in either, I smell them on other people so much that I am a bit jaded with that type of fragrance now for myself anyway.

Alright you people, what''s a "marine" note?

A marine note is found in some modern perfumes which is a "fresh ozonous metallic " type of note, inspired by sea water and the type of smells you can find at the beach. It seems to be a popular note to have in some perfumes, especially the modern '' fresh and clean'' smelling types, but I am not keen personally!

I am still wearing Design, but I''m looking for a new scent.. so.. this thread should be helpful. I loved Daisy when I got it sprayed at me in Macy''s.. and I never got it last year, so that''s still a possibility. My kids still recognize me or think about me by my scent if they smell it anywhere, isn''t that funny?
Whenever I smell Chanel No.5 I immediately think if my mother.
face23.gif
She''s worn it my entire life, and the smell of it still brings a smile to my lips.

Same thing with Stetson - I immediately think of my father.

I''ve been wearing Tommy Bahama Very Cool for the past few years. Since I associate smells so much with people, I try to pick a fragrance and stick with it, LOL.

My favourite perfumes have to be Pleasures and Pleasures Exotic by Estee Lauder so feminine and subtle but strong enough to have a presence. I really love soft floral and fruity scents and they work really well with my personality and body chemistry.

If I want something clean and light for summer Green Tea by Elizabeth Arden is good and if I feel like something that is quite strong definitely a winter only perfume I like Chloe Narcissus it brings back fond memories.

I am a little boring with my perfume I don''t tend to change them up all that much.

Today, I''m wearing Clinique Happy in Bloom. I really like that one, and I''ve been wearing it A LOT lately! I also like Clinique Happy (the original one) and Clinique Happy to Be. (Do ya see a pattern here??? LOL!) I used to LOVE anything by Calvin Klein, especially Eternity, Truth and Escape. DH has the men''s version of Calvin Klein Truth and Clinique Happy . . . both of which I love on him!
21.gif

Ya know, so many people rave about Chanel No. 5, so I tried it once and I just didn''t like the way it smelled for some reason! I feel like I''m some kind of weirdo!

Deelight, my Mom wears Pleasures, and I just love it! Every time I smell it, I think of her!

I love Kenneth Cole''s REACTION. I''ve worn it for almost a year now and still love it.

Pleasure makes me think of my mom too! :)

My high school boyfriend always wore Tommy and I cannot smell that without thinking of him (which is not a pleasant thing).

LOL! Did you try the EDT or the EDP? BIG difference I think, the EDP is richer and deeper than the EDT, I wear the EDP in preference. And the parfum is glorious! But the EDT is still nice, just different to the other formulations.

Lorelei, I can''t remember which one I tried . . . I think I was at Macy''s and this was several years ago. Thanks for the tip! Maybe I''ll have to give it another shot . . .

I think you should! Try the EDP and see what you think, have a good squirt, then let it dry down for about half an hour or so, then see what you think. Also the Chanel No 5 Sensual Elixir is lovely, a delicate version of Chanel No 5 in gel form, love this stuff!

My favorite is Prada Infusion D''Iris, and my husband loves my Stella McCartney perfume.

One more that I really like that was actually new this year is the John Varvatos women''s fragrance.

What fragrance do you like on a guy?

Something classy for an old guy like me (54).
Something I would recommend for a young gentleman like yourself is Caron Pour Homme cologne, classic, classy and intriguing!

I can''t help you, my hubby won''t wear cologne.

So I''m not up on mens fragrances.

Recently I discovered By Killian, it''s A Prelude to Love. It''s amazing....

Beyond Love By Killian is also my 2008 fave. It''s a little sweet but also musky.

Kai is a good perfume oil that''s been a staple for a while, too!
