And Richard - I LOVE Calvin Klein''s Eternity on men.... y u m.
30.gif

I just bought my fiance Yves Saint Laurent L''Homme. God it smells divine.

Yeah, CK''s Eternity is what I wear now. In the mood for a change though. I love all the suggestions. I''m compiling a sniff list and will check them out over the weekend.

I like wearing a fragrance. It seems to add that extra touch of class. I deal with women all day long, and they seem to notice things like that.
We do!!! I just don''t like it when men go overboard, but I hear the same thing for women too.
Yes! My BIL wears so much I can smell him as soon as he enters a room. Guys, there IS such a thing as, too much of a good thing.

Same for women.

I can''t really stand to wear perfumes... I find the scent very strong on me no matter the brand. But I''m dying to try out some of these suggestions! Some of them sound yummy.

Richard - I think Armani Black Code is a nice scent on a guy. I think it''s more of a daytime/wear to work scent and it smells fabulous! You can try it at any department store counter, if you''d like.
aliciagirl - I''m the same way! Try putting it on your wrists, instead of spraying it on your neck. It''s less all encompassing that way.

I stuck with low key vanilla for years before I found the Tommy Bahama, LOL.

Oh, we definitely notice.

And I''m with Skippy - drowning in scent is never a good thing. I finally have DH down to 2 squirts instead of 4.... He doesn''t seem to believe that 1 can be sufficient.

My Jivago 24 arrived, cooee DiamondFan - it''s lovely!!

What fragrance do you like on a guy?

Something classy for an old guy like me (54).
Acqua di Parma.... just divine, classy and verrrry sexy. :)

Oooh, and Obsession for Men is *incredibly* manly and yummy.

Grrrr!

I don''t usually wear fragrance because it gives me a headache, but now and then I do like a little spritz of Anna Sui Secret Wish. It is really light and I like to look at the bottle :)

My fiance loves cologne and he usually wears Issey Miyake , which smells incredible.

At the moment I am alternating between

Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir

Jo Malone Blue Agava and Cacao mixed with Verbenas of Provence

Chantecaille Wisteria

and if I am going somewhere nice with my husband I wear Vera Wang because it was my wedding perfume

Still wearing Tiffany Pure.

Still stuck to my signatures - Burberry (the original one - I hate that they started re-naming and re-designing the bottles) and Chanel Chance.

Both are too heavy for the summer though, so I''ve been wearing Breathe Delight from Bath and Body Works lately - I think I bought it last year, so who knows if they even still make it? I found the bottle stuck in the back of my linen closet and revived it. :)

I''m not a big fan of cologne on a man.
I love the smell of sandalwood.
I buy my husband Roger&Gallet Sandlewood soap.
Gets me everytime!

I like to wear Marc by Marc Jacobs.
Also I like Coco Chanel and No.5.
I love the spicy scent of Opium but it is too strong for me to wear.

DH wears Colonia Assoluta by Acqua di Parma (I like the original Colonia as well, but not as much as this one) or Rocabar by Hermes.

For men, I also like Gianfranco Ferre's Gianfranco Ferre per Homme (the one in the black bottle) and Paco Rabanne.

If you like scents with history, the Acqua di Parma range has loads! It used to be worn by Audrey Hepburn, Cary Grant, Ava Gardener and David Niven amongst others.

My mother has always worn Madam Rochas, and I love the way it reminds me of her everytime I smell it. I always wanted a perfume that was mine and it took me years to find it.

I adore Acqua di Parma's 'Profumo' - it comes in a gorgeous hand-blown 1930's style bottle and has over 300 ingredients. It's a chypre and a BIG perfume. I also love that it is very hard to get hold of and hideously expensive so I have yet to meet another person that wears it! (I had the good fortune to pick up three bottles for next to nothing last year which are now carefully stored away.)

I don't love that they only do the scent, there is no matching body lotion/bath stuff. I even contacted head office, but apparently not enough people wear it to make it worthwhile. Grrrrrr.

On the way to finding it, I went through CK's Obsession (my mother begged me not to wear it when I split up with an ex after 7 years as it reminded her of him), Estee Lauder's Pleasures, Trussadi's Python, Gianfranco Ferre's Gianfranco Ferre (the rectangular bottle in the white box one that is super-hard to find, but absolutely gorgeous), Boucheron's Trouble and finally one that I still love Paloma Picasso.

Irishgirrl, I do have the coach scent in the solid. LOVE it - it''s a really clean /warm (leathery?) smell, reminds me a little of Hugo Boss for Women.

Thanks, Elmorton! I love, love, love the smell of leather, so I''ll probably like it . . . DEFINITELY have to try some next time I''m at the Coach store!

Great info ladies and gentlemen!

I am wearing the Jivago 24 today, the one recommended to be by DiamondFan long ago, and it is gorgeous! It also lasts really well which is important to me, I hate it when I put perfume on and I can't smell it an hour later, so the Jivago is a definite keeper.

Irish, if you love leather ( as I do) then try Tabac Blond parfum extrait by Caron, that is very leathery and just wonderful.

Lorelei, I''ve heard you rave about the Tabac Blond so much that I was planning on giving it a try anyway!

Hehe!! Another PSer joins the Tabac Blond club! Make sure you try the parfum extrait as this is the best form of the fragrance, the EDP isn''t as good.

Okay, I have a really really weird question! haha

I am curious if I am the only one this happens too??? I only like scents I can''t really smell on me, or sort of smell!! If I can smell them I feel ill and get a headache.
emotion-41.gif
I have asked friends and family if the ones I can''t smell they can smell and they say yes! Does that happen to anyone else????

Hi Skippy,

Yes it does. Your sniffer gets used to it, but others can still smell it on you.

Love, Linda

Okay makes sense glad I am not the only one! hehe I have to try on a scent for a day before I buy it! If I can wear it all day and it doesn't bother me then the next day I buy a bottle.

Thanks Linda

Miss Linda is right Skip. Apparently it is a protective response as our brain can ' filter' out familiar and non threatening smells, that way we are more attuned to danger such as smelling smoke etc. This is normal if you wear the same perfume frequently, so if you want to be able to detect your perfume more easily when you wear it, the answer is to mix them up a bit.

SDL, ask if anyone can smell your perfume, you may notice others can. Daisy is on my list of ones to try!

This is such a fun thread! I just saw it for the first time, and now I''m totally inspired to go out and try some of the PS favorites.

My current favorites:

- J''Adore Dior
- Chanel Chance
- French Connection for Women
