MerryMunkey, is that fragrance similar to Pink Sugar? (hope you know that one)

Ok Miss Sharon Canuks and other ladies, I received my sample of Chanel No 5 Eau Premier yesterday. I gave it a good test run and while I love the fragrance itself ( although it could be stronger) it barely lasted an hour on my skin
38.gif
. I put plenty on hoping for a nice cloud of EP to surround me for a short while....Nothing.
39.gif

So although it is a very nice fragrance, I will stick to the original in eau de parfum or the Elixir Sensuelle which smells similar to Eau Premier IMO but has more kick to it.

You know, I am really getting fed up with it, buy a perfume and it is gone within an hour or so, and this is happening with so many brands.....I don''t know if these perfume manufacturers are scared to make them '' too strong'' in case it offends anyone, but I and I know many others would rather the stuff was stronger, then we could use less accordingly as we wanted.

Write them and complain. You never know, if enough people did it, it might help. Or, just stick to one, like moi.

HI:

Blasphermy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And you silly--you can't out run me!

BTW, in regards to writing and complaining; I did so, once, to Lancome after buying Hynoise. I never got a response. Although disappointed, I cannot say I was terribly surprised. Too I tried to write a review of the New Chanel product, but couldn't seem to sign on to the perfume blogs to do so. So HEY I have tried to voice my concern!!!!!!!!!!!!
9.gif

Lorelei: I wonder if the idea is that you'll spray more and more, using it up faster and run out and buy another bottle....b/c you like the scent. I'll put this fragrance into the "why bother" category.

BTW, some lady sprayed me with Armani "Diamonds" yesterday--and it wasn't half bad!

cheers--Sharon

That thought had crossed my mind.....

But if that was the way of thinking from these companies, then it makes me definitely put a fragrance into the ' why bother' category....
24.gif
I like a fragrance I can smell readily which has some reasonable tenacity when worn.

That was too bad of Lancome to not even reply!

Armani Diamonds eh??? How terribly appropriate for a PSer!

And just how fast are you??

That''s too bad you never heard back, they obviously don''t care too much about the consumer.

And Lorelei, I agree, very apropo on the "Diamonds".

Bumpitty bumps...

Anyone bought or tried anything new and exciting?

HI:

Funny thing--I wore my "new" Chanel (non scent as I call it
3.gif
2.gif
) and my DH says: "Oh that is really nice--what is it?" First I was rather surprised he could smell anything (but in all fairness I had JUST sprayed it...) and second that he noticed at all. At any rate I thought I''d get the old guys goat in asking him which scent thought it was---I put him on the spot and gave him one clue that it was a well established fragrance and he answered with confidence "Chanel #5". HA! Whho knew?

Anyway, I was thru Sears yesterday and experienced something I have never known in my life--brand name perfume sold at a discount. Everything in the perfume dept was discounted 20% and with the EL I bought, I got a FULL sized hand/foot creme, 200ml. I ended uip getting Youth Dew spray and body creme. I am not accustomed to these fragrance sales, unless they are at an outlet store or the like......it was already wrapped so my DH can give it ot me for Christmas.....bonus....

Canuk-Gal, does Sears carry Chanel?

Lorelei- The only new thing (well not too new) is Bvlgari Black. I still adore it and now that it''s cold, I think it''s perfect.

My other one is Serge Luten''s A La Nuit, as Jasmine scents still seem to be my all time fave. By the way, anyone familiar with Serge Luten know if I can get the Bell Jar anywhere in the U.S.? Seems to only be sold in the flaghip Paris store.
39.gif

Armani''s Prive Eclat de Jasmin is a waste of money. I''m sooo mad at myself for picking up this stinky piece o'' crap!.

HI:

They do carry Chanel--but not the new Premiere. Sorry you did not like the Armani; next time I have no success with a new fragrance, I plan on retuning it. Just too much $ to be disappointed.

cheers--Sharon

HI:

Got some EL Youth Dew spray and body creme for Christmas; it is an old fashion fragrance but one I have always enjoyed. The body creme is super rich and really gorgeous.

cheers--Sharon

I just got Valentino''s Rock and Rose.. It has a beautiful bottle and I LOVE how it smells. Thanks Santa!

Last year I started using M by Mariah Carey and I really like that - sort of sexy and sultry for me. This year she came out with Luscious Pink and I got some for Christmas and I like that too. Much lighter than the M and a "prettier" scent.

Diva

i have only read a couple of pages of this thread. i have not seen viva la juicy by juicy couture. i really like the scent and recently purchased some. i can not attest to the staying power but i find the scent lovely. anyone else?

Just got Beckham''s new fragrance (for women of course). Pink bottle, with body lotion..it''s OK!
Also just got some J''Lo fragrances.."after dark"..."glow" and "love at first glow"..they''re alright, I like one of the three..I think the "love at first glow".
Still loving my signature scent by Ralph Lauren..called "HOT!" Mmmmm

My favorite on guys would be almost anything Armani.
They all smell like, "I wanna sex you up" in a bottle
4.gif

My new love is Teint de Neige by Lorenzo Villoresi, reminiscent of powder and almondy goodness, I love it! Teint de Neige translates to colour of snow, perfectly named.

Bumps......

Anyone else got anything new and exciting?

Funny that this was brought up! I was out picking oranges off of the tree and cutting them up and squeezing them for fresh OJ memosas for a morning treat for my hubby... I wanted to surprise him, when I came in to wake him up- he was like... omg you smell soooo good! Did you get a new purfume? HAHA

Arizona Oranges anyone? who knew I could be soo delighful for soo little!
28.gif

HI:

Lorelei: are you familiar with Lise Watier (sp) Neige--is your new one anything like it? That one is rather powdery too...

Yesterday, I tried on a squirt of "Roses" by Jo Malone and atho is is NOT a rose for me--it lasted ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL day..... what a powerhouse, but for roses, I think I am still partial to "Joy".

cheers--Sharon

Canuk-gal it''s funn you should mention roses.

I actually like (alot) Rose perfumes but my husband can''t stand them.

I have Zephir De Rose by Parfums de Rosine and I love it. I think it''s a true Rose scent and yes, this one lasts, and lasts, and lasts..lol

I''m not big on fragrances. I like the idea of them, but just can''t get into them. I''ve been wearing the same thing for the past couple of years, Chanel Chance. I''ve tried a couple of others, just department store one, but anything with a fancy bottle turns me off.
