Addy, why do you fancy bottles turn you off? It''s one of the things I love about them. Provided of course it smells good.

Sharon, have you gone off Bulgari''s Au The Blanc? It''s been a year and I still love it.

My faves:

Salvatore Ferragamo Incanto
Moschino Cheap & Chic I Love Love
Chanel Coco Madamoiselle
Chanel Chance
Christian Dior Miss Dior
Christian Dior Addict 2
Christian Dior Addict Shine
Yves Saint Laurent Baby Doll
Issey Miyake L''eau D''Issey (it''s a grown up smell my mom wore)
Lolita Lempicka (for the bitter wintertime)
Bvglari Omni (in the purple bottle)

This thread inspired me to go take a whiff of some of my perfumes. Realized I''m totally on a Serge Lutens kick and loving "Daim Blonde" again. It''s kinda woodsy and for some reason i smell something minty (but i swear it''s good).

For anyone interested and in the nyc area, there''s an amazing little store called "Aedes De Venustas" on 9 Christopher Street in the west village. They carry perfumes that you won''t find in any department store or discount
perfume place, and my god, some of the stuff they have is amazing. Need to get back there soon.

Boy, I need to explore downtown more.

I received Very Irresistible by Givenchy this past holiday- you can see it in my avatar

I like it so far- it smells young and pretty to me. I can''t say that I buy perfume for myself often, but I generally get something nice a few times a year.

So we went to get some more Armani Mania today..

Sales Lady, "Can I help you? Acqua Di Gio is our popular scent" (we were standing by the Armani counter)
me, "No, just looking. Thanks." (I walk away)
Sales Lady to BF, "Can I help YOU?"
BF, "Yeah.. blahblahblah"
Then I hear Sales Lady say, "How about Acqua Di.."
And I walk over because I already know her song and dance..
me, "We''ll get Armani Mania"
Sales Lady, "But this one, Acqua Di Gio is our most popular scent! Here you should really try this."
me (cranky), "No, my father AND my brothers wear that, so my boyfriend will not be wearing that."
Sales Lady, "So... Armani Mania then?"

Annnoooyyying. It doesn''t help I was a titch cranky to start though. Most sales people are like flies on sh*t.

Oh goodness... another enabling thread for me.

I feel like all of my posts lately have been something along these lines!

I have never really worn a fragrance, and I get a huuuuge headache whenever I go into a department store anywhere near the big perfume displays. Yuck! Therefore, I''m not in the know about these things.

HOWEVER, a few years ago [wow, has it been that long?] I saw an ad and sample for Vera Wang Princess in a magazine and I fell in love with it. I hunted it down and did test sprays on at least 20 occasions. It is very "me." It smells like what I would smell like if you shoved me in a bottle and marketed me! *swoon*

. So, as is per usual with me, I shouldn''t be shopping for anything over $20, but I think this thread might have enabled me to at the veeeery least go test it out once more...

I just like things in clean, simple bottles. Too much going on with colours and designs just isn''t appealing to me. I think that''s why I''m so drawn to some of the Chanel perfumes, like Coco, Number 5, and Chance. The bottles are simple and have clear glass. I shy away from most of the Calvin Klein bottles, Lancombe, and several others I can''t think of. They seem too busy, too overwhelming. The bottle makes it or breaks it for me, sadly.
