Hello all,

As some of you may know, I am a long-time gem collector, but had yet to set any of them. So I thought I should slow down on buying, and finally set and enjoy what I have. Since I recently purchased a sapphire from Inken at Enhoerning Jewelry, I thought it fitting that she should create my very first ring. Now I want her to set all of my gems!!

First, just let me say... Inken is extremely intuitive about what you want. She listens intently and, if you think you're particular, she has you beat. Every single teeny detail is something to which she pays close attention. She's also highly responsive, exceedingly professional, and very fair. Plus, she has the coolest Germanic accent that I could listen to all day. :geek2: Anyway, she deserves this rave review, so I wanted to make sure she got it.

3.03ct. untreated sapphire from Burma... around 2ctw. diamonds (F/VS)... 950 platinum.

That is the perfect blue! And a beautiful ring to showcase it -- enough big diamonds that you think maybe...just maybe...it's a Kashmir. =)2

I almost pulled the trigger with a small-ish blue from Inken and then chickened out at the last minute. She has found us great things before.

Thank you, everyone! Inken and her team deserve all of the credit!! I want to mention that she sent back the diamonds 3 times because she wanted very particular proportions for the pears and marquises. And when she says F color, she's not going to send you G-H like some vendors. Not that there's anything wrong with G-H, of course. But when you're paying a premium, you want the real deal. I finally found someone as fussy as me, and it's glorious. You know how you sometimes feel like you have to over-explain yourself, ad nauseam, when you're ordering something custom? Not the case here. I literally explained once what I wanted, and off she went. We never tweaked anything. She did have her team make a few alterations during the process, but needed no input from me. I'm telling you, she's awesome.

Thank you! I know, right?! It was just such a smooth process. I felt very well taken care of by Inken. She rocked me like a wee baby. :shifty: And I paid $0 until she knew I was 100% happy. Naturally, I own other jewelry, but this is my very first bespoke piece using a stone from my collection! I look forward to future collaborations with her now. Have you ever worked with Inken? I know you're an old (young) pro. :)
 
I can’t believe this is your first setting! Now you’ll be hooked to that. I started with just the stones too and now… well enough said!

This is such a beautiful stone I’m so glad you decided to go for a really fabulous dress for it. I’m a sucker for halos and this is utterly divine. The workmanship looks impeccable too. I do hope you wear the hell out of this and don’t keep it only for “best”!
 
What a ring!! Every single detail is stunning. The sapphire colour is amazing. Looking forward to see your hand shots.

I had no idea that you had not yet set a single stone! I thought I was bad having so many unset stones. Your new ring is amazing. I love that the halo is unique and also huge to really highlight the center sapphire.

You will love finally getting to admire your stones in settings on your finger instead of in a gem box. Enjoy!!!
