I’m SO late to this thread but am very happy and excited for you, @sweetpea&babycorn . I had a similar dilemma as yours several months back and so could totally relate to everything you said about the process of finding the right one. In the end, I went for a “perfectly imperfect” stone - an out of round, asymmetrical OEC and a Q/R for that matter. She’s exactly the opposite of my previous ring which was perfectly symmetrical with excellent cut grade. I know it’s a totally different cut (emerald cut) but my point is that I thought I wanted the same for my next stone, regardless of shape, but went the complete opposite direction. I find that I gravitate towards asymmetrical old cut stones which, to me, is all part of their charm. So far I’m happy with my choice(s) and that’s what most important. I wish the same for you.

FWIW, I was going to vote for the OMC anyway when I started reading your thread and after reading through all the posts, I was glad to see you did choose the OMC. It such a beautiful stone and just PERFECT! Exquisitely beautiful, imho.
Enjoy it in health and I can’t wait to see how you set it :appl:

I really like the one that you picked. I think that that one was very pretty and a much better choice. My favorite is an old mine cut, so I am biased. Where did you find the new stone?

I’m going with a two tone bezel solitaire with platinum head and 14K rose gold band.

The stone is to die for!! Nope, not settling at all as it’s absolutely sublime. And your setting idea…right in my wheelhouse. Cannot wait to see it!!! Congratulations!!

Thank you so, so much @maita13 - would you be willing to share your OEC? I looked through your threads and drooled over your emerald, but didn't see anything about your OEC. Your personal story about your own health and the loss of your son put me to tears. I have a little boy myself - he's turning 3 in a month - who is also my everything - and I could never, ever, ever be able to imagine life without him. You are such a strong person (like a diamond!) and I want to think that your son wanted you to live the rest of your life to fullest and healthiest that you can.

Thank you! Over time my tastes have changed - I've owned a perfect, colorless RB; a modern 8 main cushion; 2 warm OECs; and now going for the warmest stone I'll ever own with mesmerizing and delicious chunky facets. I cannot wait. The stone is from La Jolla Gems, and the rep I worked with was absolutely amazing. I live in the east coast but if this pandemic ever ends, we are going to San Diego to visit this shop in person and enjoy endless sunny Cali days and beaches.

Thank you all! It's going to be a while, but well worth the wait and I'll definitely share the final product!

Thank you guys! These are all the pics I have for now. I was sent a couple videos when the stone was in its old setting, and I can try to upload those later.

Dearest @sweetpea&babycorn …thanks SO much for your sweet and kind words. I’m always moved by my fellow PSers compassion and words of encouragement. And I never for a million years would I have likened myself to a diamond, maybe a rough one;)2- thank you♥️!
I‘ve not started a thread yet though I’ve been posting on the Stack of the Day thread. I will eventually. Meanwhile, here’s a sneak preview:mrgreen:…vendor photos weren’t the best (first photo is vendor’s), but I took a chance and ended up loving it. Congrats again on your stunning OMC!!B00AC15B-4893-41A6-9070-7A131DD8C59C.jpegBEE1153A-2F07-46A3-B9BD-AEC81CE5BC7D.jpeg46B5CD1C-C5EE-462A-BEC7-1802A766CD1F.jpeg

Christ! I don’t know why the pics came out so big- apologies!

Soo in love with the cushion old cut you picked!!! Can you tell me the specs on it ( table, depth etc) so I can look for it’s baby version lol!

@sweetpea&babycorn having recently hunted for an old miner myself, I wanted to share my heartfelt congratulations on this amazing find. It's truly breathtaking! Can't wait to see how you set it. Please share progress pics from DK :)

Wow, @maita13. Where have you been hiding this beauty? Please create a thread in SMTB! :).

Thank you! I’m happy to share the specs: GIA N SI1, dimensions 10.89 X 10.83 X 7 mm. Table 53%, depth 64.6%, very large culet. Good polish, good symmetry.
I don’t have the crown angles or % since I don’t see it on my copy of the GIA report, I’m sorry!

I hope this helps and that you find your perfect to you stone ❤️ I’ll also add that you can always ask others here what you’re looking for and get help finding it

Ohh thank you!! I’ve been following your adventure of finding your Peruzzi and I’m so glad you found it!!! I’m excited to see the finished product and know it’s going to be such a unique and beautiful piece!

I recently decided to change the metal to 18k peach gold and might tweak the design a little bit. I have a few more months to figure it out. While the wait is long, I think it’s a little nice to have the extra time to decide what I really want.

I LOVE peach gold. I was messaging DK about it recently... he must be wondering why all these PSers are all over it! Enjoy the process.
