Is the emerald cut still in play? If not, hopefully the SA can swap for the 2.3 ct oval.
 
Yes it gets here this week! The ratio is 1.39 so it might look to round?

As little hard to say from the pics but my impression is that the 2.2 is very pretty. I think if you can get the 2.3 ct in to compare, you will know which stone is "the one."

Also do you know what’s important to get more sparkle in an oval?
I read it was cut and depth

The best pics are in natural light.

Here's an example of peak light performance in an oval. The Elyque has great light performance but is super deep and therefore faces up small.

Also, I don’t know how to ask this but what is your advice since I’m locked in 21K would you think the best value would be getting a natural diamond like this 2.2 oval or going for another shape and setting it as a necklace and then getting a lab oval 2.5–5 carat

What would you do here?

Yes, thank you! I will ask him tomorrow when he is in if he can do that the lady that was there mentioned that maybe because it was deeper cut the depth percentage that could be what was making it not sparkle as much?

I would 100% spend the $21k on a ring that I could enjoy looking at daily.
 
I asked about the 2.30 j that was recommended waiting for response .

1).Thoughts on this one that popped up? Promise I won’t look anymore I just want to move on
2). Do you think after setting this 2.2 oval it will help the ends not look to slim? Just me that sees this?

Depends on the setting. I think if you do 6 or 8 prongs it will change the shape.

But you should love it as is. If this isn’t it for you then don’t force it.
 
Definitely going to go look again once the emerald gets here and without kids this time‍♀️

I like the size of the 2.5 ct but *think* that the 2.3 ct is will have a less pronounced bowtie.

@tyty333 do you have time to weigh in between these two?

Hopefully you can find a natural diamond that you love. You can always get a lab emerald cut for your necklace.

My gut says that the bowtie will be more pronounced in the 2.5. Watch the videos again.

They called us that the emerald came in!

I would also look at a new site called www.yourdiamondguys.com. It’s an AI website that scans inclusions and weeds out the bad ones automatically so you only see top cut with nice imperfections. Also has TONS of information. All about length to width and the AI has specific parameters. It’s cool!
