Help! Round Center and Heart Side Stones

This is definitely an idea to consider!! I wonder how comfortable it is or if it flops apart when you wear it?

Early in my marriage I had the most gorgeous enhancer that I wore with my round engagement ring, & mine never moved, flopped nor flipped around.

With a wrap you’re always going to have the extra band to contend with. Mine are just stock; if you go that route I’d work with an awesome designer and get a wax mold. I like the heart side stones. Keep in mind not just proportion but angle of side stones.
good luck!!

this thread is lengthy so I’m not going to read through all the responses but I have a strong opinion on a MRB with hearts or other brilliant cut fancies. The faceting won’t match. The hearts will not perform as well as your center- they will show more color than your center- and being right next to them will highlight this.
you’ll want to pick side stones that are in the same color range as your center. But H/I color hearts will match in some lighting situations and not in others.
same goes for the performance. They will end up looking dull by comparison.
if you like the look of them I’d get rounds side stones and set them in 3 prong, the same way you would a heart. That way the single prong on the outside will give a more triangular shape to the rounds.
Or, I’d do step cuts. Larger bullets or baguettes. Those you could get away with.

I have noticed that ALL 3 stones—never look even in terms of colors—given the way the stones are angled! Look at all the pics! The center stone always looks different.

What are your thoughts on pear sidestones?

The same. A one cut pear set with one cut round would be one thing but with mrb and a modern brilliant cut pear it’ll do the same thing

Respectfully disagree that pears cant/won’t look fabulous. The difference in facets/contrast is what makes it not look like one unit and sets off the center. IMHO. Obviously our eyes all process things differently. I saw a 3 stone on Jewels by grace that’s MRB with rose cut sides. Eye catching IMO.

Hi! I haven’t been here in long time, but I saw your question, and wondered if my thread from 2013 might be helpful! I had a wrap made with 2 hearts to go around my solitaire. I still love it! Hopefully, this link will work…also, Hello to Diamondseeker and MissGotRocks ….happy to see you both still on here!

Good to see you! So glad you posted your ring and wrap again - this is will be very helpful for her!

I think having round diamonds as the side stone is more versatile. if you get them from places like WF, you can always upgrade them if you change your mind on the size. Or if you change your mind about 3 stone ring entirely in the future, you can repurpose them more easily, e.g. earring.

I really like the proportion of this one where I think the side stones complement the center stone.

I think getting tester rings made is a great idea. It is small cost in comparison to ...

Looking forward to see what you end up with.

I like the heart shaped sides!! I prefer the 5mm to let your solitaire shine. I know I’m in the PS minority but I really dislike 3 round stones together. They don’t flow and I sometimes give me a Mickey Mouse ears effect.

Oohhhh my goodness, this is absolutely gorgeous!!! Do you find you end up wearing your solitaire or with the wrap more often? I am having the same problem finding a pair of hearts, I will have to look up B2C. Thank you so much for this, it is so helpful!!

Such a good point, I was thinking the same thing about the versatility of the rounds. I love my WF ACA and it would be nice to have them all the same quality... Plus everyone is saying that hearts/pears don't match the sparkle of rounds, and I really do want maximum sparkle!

That Leon 3 stone has the perfect proportions! I see the center is a 2.91, so close to mine... I wonder what size the sides are?

I love that Leon Mege setting! Looks gorgeous! I am sure you could contact them to ask about the size of the side stones in that model.
