jellybean,
I totally agree if the halo is very thin, pink might work. The last thing I want is to take away from the beauty of this stone. Thanks, everyone is helping a lot. Keep them coming. Tomorrow is D day.

It''s a gorgeous stone, Lisa!

I don''t know if you should do the pink around it or not. Either way it''s going to be stunning!

Thanks Patty

I am wavering a bit, but hopefully either way it will be great.

You are a classic gal- keep it classic- keep it with diamonds.

Just my .02

Thanks Nan. I think you may be right!!!!!!

belle, you are always one step ahead of me sister. I was just going to ask everyone if the halo should be done in rose gold. Now I love that look, but is it too trendy??? What does everyone think???
how about pink gold? if you want a little less red color.

I think rose gold is pink gold???? Experts please chime in here.

Kaleigh
my avatar is 18k pink gold. the shade of red is between YG and RG.

Ok then what are the elements of pink gold???? Is it just a mix of YG and RG or is there more to it than that. Like maybe adding some copper to the mix????

This might help you...... from the World Gold Council.

I have antique pieces in rose gold....you can tell the difference between rose and yellow gold when they are together....,but it can be very subtle...some of the modern rose/pink golds are very coppery looking......I don''t know what the difference is re: combinations of metals....the old rose golds (and the better rose golds today) have a softer look...(I guess I''m thinking of the pink gold jewelry sold on the shopping networks vs:fine 18K rose gold)....

I don''t know if it will show up right, but here''s an 18K brushed white gold and shiny rose gold bracelet I got in Italy.....the rose goldexactly matches the color of an antique 18K band I have......you might not be able to see it, but you could tell if it were right next to YG.....

How does the picture of the bracelet Maine posted answer the question "Ok then what are the elements of pink gold???? Is it just a mix of YG and RG or is there more to it than that. Like maybe adding some copper to the mix????"

What am I missing here????

Maxine was being helpful and I was thanking her. Geez.

Kaleigh, it''s beautiful! When you first said halo, rose gold was the first thing to come to mind. I think it would look splendid!

Well, I voted privately but I''ll come out of the closet now...I feel the classic, all-white accent stones will optimize for this awesome icy asscher.

I vote to keep it all white too, but I agree it will still be stunning if you do the rose gold/pink diamonds thing.

Kaleigh,
Is all your jewelry white metal? Do you wear any 2-tone or tri-color? Just curious. Either way, I still vote pink/rose. But if it were for an e-ring, I''d vote white.

I can''t go see the bench jeweler as he is swamped today, but will have time to meet with me tomorrow. I think I am going to keep it all white. I will ask the cost of the pink halo, but feel it may take away from the stone. Thanks everyone for all your help, it''s a tough decision, UGHHHH!!!!

Ummm... YAY (?)

I was hoping you''d keep it all white...

Just in my opinion..... some cuts seem to look better kept all white than others..

Thanks coconut. The pink would''ve been fun but in the long run it really isn''t me. Now if the bench jeweler would get some free time I could get the ball rolling.

white white white. I also think sometimes that colored stones make a piece look fake...people don''t assume that the colored stones are valuable (we know better) so they would assume the center stone is a fakey....maybe?

Well, I must now admit I''d prefer white melee in a halo for your asscher.

Of course if you''d been considering flanking that puppy with a couple of sapphires or rubies, I might have sung a different tune! Hey...why not consider some colored sides on the shoulders, outside of the halo??? (I SO much enjoy trying to help others spend money...

)

I do hope you ask the jeweler what the cost of pink melee is...I''m really curious..

This is SO MUCH FUN!! Thanks for letting us in on it!

PS: Sorry to whoever''s rings I messed with...Valeria I aint!

Waaaaaaaah!!!

I know it is tough. You MUST follow YOUR heart . . . . even if it''s not what *I* thinks is best -- just kidding.

I would like to know what the price difference would be just out of curiosity. Do you have an appointment set up for tomorrow? Can''t wait to hear . . . .
