I love all white diamonds - I know I may be in the minority here but that is my vote. You could do two rows of pave as well or maybe something else that adds substance to the ring if your fear is that the stone will look small. Since I''m opening my big mouth anyway, maybe bezel set the stone or stones - something other than prong set - a ring design that makes it look more like a RHR rather than an e-ring. Do you know what I''m saying? Your e-ring is so pretty and you certainly don''t want to compete with that! It will be interesting too to hear the suggestions of the jeweler. I''m sure the two of you will come up with something great! Good luck tomorrow - can''t wait to hear!

Ok, I''m not sure if this will provide any illumination or not, but here''s the 1st asscher-halo collage I did back when Dazedland''s fi was researching for their GAWGEOUS ring....

There''s one option here w/ pink melee but with a fancy green diamond center. Anyway, you get the idea.

I have seen one ring on icestore.com but I''m not able to save it, that is a cushion with a pink halo, BUT it''s the only such ring I''ve seen without the rosegold. It''s actually very striking. I do love the rose gold/pink diamond combo, but something about this one was so clean and crisp looking--more subtle I guess, but since this is a RHR, I love the idea of popping color! Of course, I also love the idea of a white diamond halo, so.....

Hi Kaleigh! I have a thought to throw at you!

While I love halos, sometimes I think "close fitting" ones detract from the special unique-ness of an asscher.

Have you considered framing yours with a smidgeon of "air" between the stone and the halo? Sometimes I think this look helps frame and emphasize the center stone, and can make it look bigger.

One of my all-time favorites is Hest''s sister''s...do you remember it? I didn''t note the weight of the stone, but if memory serves...it wasn''t very big. To me, it looks like the stone is almost framed in a "shadow box"

Hmmm...that WOULD be a different way to go, but gorgeous....I was so impressed when I first saw that ring--the milgrain and the detail and engraving gave it practically as much sparkle as pave but just w/ plat--unique!!

So....wasn''t sure what you meant about baguettes, but I remembered that Daniel k also made a ring which had a "halo" from baguettes rather than pave. But I can''t find it on the niceice.com site anymore, and of course you can''t save a pic from the daniel k site. You can see a version of it on www.danielk.net in the bridal gallery, but it''s with a fancy yellow center.

Here is the closest version I could find, but this one is def. chunkier--it''s a Leon w/ a saph center, but thought it couldnt'' hurt to at least get an idea of the baguette-halo.

Kaleigh, I love the idea of a mounting like Hest''s sister''s ring. It would add a lot of heft to the stone & ring & a nice antiquey feel without detracting from the stone in any way. Or some sort of baguette halo would be amazing! There would be a nice continuity with all step cuts. And all of these options will make a nice contrast with your e-ring (without upstaging it, of course!)
