How long have you been dating?

depending on when we considered that we were "together", we either just passed the 4 year mark or it''ll be 4 years in October.

i think we both feel it''s been a lot longer than though...we met back in 2001.

2 years in June ... wow, I''m a reformed commitment-phobe

We''re together 11 years in July. We got engaged at 8 years and married just before our ten year anniversary last year.

I just wanted to add my 2 cents on measuring love and relationships. I''m not a LIW, but I do love my bf very dearly. He has been one of the best things to ever happen to me, and every time I''m with him, I am happy. I''m by no means ready for that big step yet. My SO dated his ex for 6 years. He said there was all this preassure and all that time he just wasn''t sure. When we started "officially" dating, he told me that the day he met me, he knew that it was worth holding out 7 years to find me. I guess what I''m trying to say is you can''t meassure time with love. You know when you know and when it''s right, it is right!

DH and I met when I was 16 and he was 17 - we knew within a couple days that we would get married and we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together.

We were too young to get engaged or married then though so we spent the next few years counting down until we were old enough to get married. We got engaged after 3 years, 8 months, and 6 days (see, I told you we were counting!

) and we got married when we had been together for a little over 4 and a half years.

We''ve been married for a year and almost four months, and our six year dating anniversary is coming up this August.

We count the day we met as our anniversary because we were inseparable ever since.

Started dating: July 4th 2007
Moved in officially: December 31st 2007
He''s been on the road for work since: November 1, 2008

Have no idea when I''ll get the ring (a lot has changed since previous posts), but we plan on being together forever and we''re still going strong despite it being long distance for 19 months. Crossing fingers that by October we will be permanently together again.

6 Years and 2 months. My other half took me to look at rings and get sized...I found the perfect ring and got the message across that the ring I chose was THE ONE. I cant wait until he asks me to make it official.

*Attached Picture is a ring almost exact as the one I chose--- this ring is from another member, and I fell in love with the ring*

It was 6 years in February, so 6 years and 4 months... wow the time has flown...I''m trying hard to be very patient...Good news is no more long distance now!

It will be three years as of the 8th of next month. We will have been living together for two years come this September. Time sure does fly!

DuckLovingVegan - we''re almost relationship twins! Our 3 year anniversary is the 14th of next month and we''ve been living together for 2 years this August. :D

We got engaged last year after 9.5 years oe beign together.
When we get married this year, it will be 10.5 years.

We have basically been "conducting" ourselves as a married couple for 7 yearss - we jsut needed the stars to align.

It''s been 8 and a half years. We''ve recently started looking at rings! Yay! We plan on getting married next year December around our 10th anniversary! I know it sounds long but we did start dating when we were only 15, so it''s all relative! But yes, it feels like I''ve been ready for that next step for a really long time!

4 Years in June. I honestly can''t believe it''s been that long. I''m a bit extra excited for this anniversary though because it will be the first time SO has celebrated a 4th anniversary. He was in a relationship before me that lasted about 3.5 years and I''ve just been waiting to pass their anniversary count haha. I''m not a jealous person at all when it comes to his interactions with girls in the present but I tend to be much more jealous about girls of the past. Which I guess makes some sense. I know now that he loves me so I''m not jealous of other girls, but to know there was a time when he loved someone else bugs me more. So I finally feel like I''m one-upping her haha. Ridiculous and off topic I know, oh well.
three and a half years for me!  And I know exactly how you feel, Callisto.  I was the same way at three years :)

I'm the opposite... kind of...

I've been dating my SO for 3 years this month, and I was anxiously waiting for us to pass 2 years because *my* longest relationship before him was a little less than two. :)
