No cookie for you!
haha I would love love love to do an expat to italy gig. OMG I would love it! My options other than china are israel, ireland (but not really), and costa rica. My ideal would be spain. Or italy. I love italy. I must go back!

China would be AMAZING

My husband is donating and banking a unit of blood for me today in advance of my next colon surgery, just in case the unthinkable goes wrong again. The man *hates* needles and I can't even get him to go for his own annual physical.

I think he loves me. He REALLY loves me. (In my best Sally Field voice)

That is very sweet of him. I hope everything goes well with your next surgery.

What is your blood type? Would it be enough just getting from him?

April and Kimberly- I completely missed your messages about my ring earlier. Thank you!

gemgirl- That was so very sweet of your husband. :)) If that isn't love...

Costa Rica would be so much fun! I'd do that in a heartbeat.

Thanks diva. I'm keeping a positive thought that things will be completely different with a different surgeon. My blood type is A+. They did say that banking one unit should be enough. I lost 40% of my own blood when I bled internally after the last surgery in June and I only consented to one unit for the transfusion, so I should be OK. My own blood started replacing itself rather quickly.

Yup, he actually surprised me! but I know that what I went through a short time again scared the you-know-what out of us both.

Oh gemgirl, that is just the sweetest!!

I've neer watched Project Runway before this season. Why did I wait so long? I am SO hooked!!

Before I boarded my plane in Baltimore today, I noticed a family with a little boy that's probably under 2 and a tiny, tiny newborn baby girl. I mean hold in one hand tiny. She looked so sweet and I thought how brave the parents were flying with two small children. And then the mom handed the baby to the dad. And I saw a SECOND tiny, tiny newborn strapped to her chest! God love them! Twins! And a little boy! Three kids under 2. It scares the crap out of me, but they looked like they were taking it in stride.

Lord love a duck, I have a hard time putting my 6 month old in the car and driving longer than an hour, I can't imagine getting on a plane with 3 under 2. And how sweet of you to think they're brave, rather than jerks!!

Lord love a duck?

Am I just sheltered?

Is it like Bless your heart? Or Landssakes?

Today at work a co worker brought her daughter in with her. She is about 5 years old. She looked at my e-ring today and said "Wow! Your ring just looks like Jane's! Except hers is bigger!"

Le sigh. I took comfort in the fact that Jane's diamond is extremely cloudy and not of very good quality but did not say anything of course. Kids say the darnedest things don't they!

*Jane is not her real name, I changed it of course :)

My weekend suddenly got really full. I love it.

I'm guessing that's what it means but I'm not positive. It makes me crack up every time I hear it though.

I have to give a shout-out to my cleaning woman and her mom. They did a great job and cleaned me microwave oven--I never asked them to do it, I was too embarassed!!! It was gross, I was thinking about trashing it and getting a new one.

I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers...........

I found a friend on FB the other day, and I've not seen/talked to her in at least 10 years! I was just ecstatic-she was my bff for a long time and I adored her so much! She moved back to OK and we just got caught up in our own lives. I feel very blessed to have her back in my life!

We're watching the one of the strangest movies I've ever seen right now. It's "I'm Not There," a movie about Bob Dylan, sort of. I'm a very literal person and this movie is way too...abstract or something for me to understand. The music's not bad but the plot is just strange.

GAH.

Just, gah.

Thank you OUpeargirl and Amber, but....... <sigh> you won't believe that we got to the hospital, signed all of the paperwork, my husband went through the lengthly list of embarrassing questions with the nurse, they pricked his finger to quickly type his blood and THEN- my surgeon wouldn't sign the stupid paper saying that this blood was being held specifically for me. AHHHH!!!!!! His nurse practitioner called me at home the next day saying that Dr. Blahblah doesn't think this is necessary at all, no matter what you've been through. You won't hemorrage with him doing your surgery.

So, he wouldn't sign the paper telling the hospital to bank my husband's blood for me- because (we think) it would have made him look bad or like we doubted his ability. (He's the chief of colorectal surgery for this huge hospital) Now we're wondering if I should remain on his schedule for 9/13. Neither of us like the idea of this surgeon taking away our choice to protect me.

Pretty much, dragon. Like "Goodness gracious!" but quirkier. It cracks me up too, Zoe.

[Random thought] It used to be about something. Now it's just a bunch of babbling. [/Random thought]
