Oh gemgirl, that is just the sweetest!!

I've neer watched Project Runway before this season. Why did I wait so long? I am SO hooked!!

I haven't watched in a while but I too am hooked on this season! I keep debating who will be in the finale. I can't decide! I really love Gretchen. Also quite like Chris (I think thats his name). Peach cracks me up! I totally think that the right designers have gone home so far. I don't understand how Michael Costello did not end up in the top 3 for the party supply store challenge. That dress was amazing.

Thank you OUpeargirl and Amber, but....... <sigh> you won't believe that we got to the hospital, signed all of the paperwork, my husband went through the lengthly list of embarrassing questions with the nurse, they pricked his finger to quickly type his blood and THEN- my surgeon wouldn't sign the stupid paper saying that this blood was being held specifically for me. AHHHH!!!!!! His nurse practitioner called me at home the next day saying that Dr. Blahblah doesn't think this is necessary at all, no matter what you've been through. You won't hemorrage with him doing your surgery.

So, he wouldn't sign the paper telling the hospital to bank my husband's blood for me- because (we think) it would have made him look bad or like we doubted his ability. (He's the chief of colorectal surgery for this huge hospital) Now we're wondering if I should remain on his schedule for 9/13. Neither of us like the idea of this surgeon taking away our choice to protect me.

Gemgirl, that is ridiculous! It seems like that doctor has way too much of an ego. I'm really sorry.

Gemgirl, that *is* ridiculous!!! Tell him you won't sign the blood consent form, then. If he's so sure you won't need blood... Heaven forbid you do! I'd him why you would need to sign a blood consent form, just to hear his answer (it'll probably be 'standard procedure' ) Good luck with your surgery, in any event!

AFM - I'm so happy because we're *finally* making some progress renovating the basement. We demo'ed, then it sat for about a month because of time/other things to do. Now we have recessed lights!! :appl: :appl: :appl: Drywall is next!

I can't stand Gretchen, but I agree with everything else you have said. My roommate and I also get a big kick out of Mondo and Casanova!

I love what Tim said about Gretchen in the last episode, soooo true! I love Mondo (a total wackadoodle) and Valerie (I think that's her name, the quirky brunette). I think Michael C and his sausage fingers are going home this week. Gretchen will be in the top 3 just for drama.

I was heating up my lean pocket at work and found myself standing in front of the work fridge with the door open just staring at everything inside. Does this mean that work is slowly becoming home or that I am a total space cadet? Yeah, I thought so, too.

I have no patience for drama.

How was your weekend?

Still waiting to hear about the job? (I hope that isn't the drama)

My weekend was good until I accidentally stepped solidly in the middle of somebody else's drama. Now I'm having to extricate myself, and reminding myself that "should" has nothing to do with the way people actually act.

Still waiting to hear about the job. It seems like the list of problems it could help solve gets longer by the day...

I'm with you OUpeargirl and Lynnie. He is quite confident in himself, to say the very least, but I saw my regular Gastro doc yesterday and he agrees with some of my other docs, that this surgeon has a reputation for doing meticulous surgery. My Gastro thinks I'm in good hands. Even so, my PCP and my Gastro are seeing to it that I have blood work done the week before the procedure (so we know what my H&H is) and the day after the procedure to make sure my hemoglobin level is still as high as it was the week before. If it's not, my husband drives me right back to the hospital so we can catch a bleeder right away. Fingers crossed and prayers to heaven that won't be the case.

Seriously, doesn't my grandfather ever SLEEP???? :knockout:

I have HAD IT!!!!!!!!!!!! :angryfire: :angryfire: :angryfire: :angryfire: :angryfire: :angryfire: :angryfire:

Pls continue with normal programming.

My 20 year old DD is getting her first tattoo today, right now. I'm a wreck. I hope it turns out perfectly, otherwise she will hate it with a fiery passion and will be in tears forever. sigh. I have nothing against tattoos, I have one even. But DD is such a perfectionist with her looks, hair, everything that she is probably the last person who should be getting a permanent tattoo. She's also an artist, so she'll be extra critical since she drew the design (feather in CMYB colours with cyan birds flying from it). :errrr:

My neighbor called me to tell me that she and her DH are signing a record deal for her son (he is 17 will be 18 in Nov and a senior in HS). He is in a Death Metal band. I guess his college plans are on hold for now.

Death metal....awesome :naughty:

You know what's funny soocool is that another forum I post on (well, not really anymore tho) a guy there has a friend who's son (or it might have actually been his own son) is in a death metal band and they were making quite a name for themselves. It's been several months now so I don't recall exactly but wouldn't it be funny if it were the same kid?

new boyfriend has graduated from awesome to stage 5 clinger in less than 2 weeks. Been dating about a month, referred to himself as 'daddy' to my dog. :errrr:

Fantastic.

I'm assmebling the last of the revisions from my advisor to give to my committee. This scares the $h!t out of me. Really and truly. I am going to give myself an ulcer from all of the extra acid action in my stomach. The 24/7 butterflies are geting old. Seriously.

LOL. Are you my daughter? That is her #1 dating pet peeve of all time. ;))

I can't find two of my rings. I've been looking since last night. Can. Not. Find.

I feel like throwing up :( :(

bean - they will be somewhere blatantly obvious that you'll overlook. Don't look as hard and they'll appear POOF. That's what my really nice pocket knives just did. I seriously was sure someone took them.

Clairitek- I remember when my bff was turning his in. He woke me up at 5 am one morning to run some wording by me. Once he turned it in, it was a lot better. Then once your done with your defend- You will have the best sense of accomplishment!! Hugs, I know it is stressful but I know that you will do wonderfully and your advisor will love your work. :)

Lyra- HAHAHAH, It just makes my stomach turn. I looked at him like he had two heads. Ughhh...

Ohhhh, Strawdermangirl, that's crazy. I can't handle that. (But then, I can't handle commitment of any kind right now. So that would seriously weird me out.)

Just found them. I turned off all of the lights and took a flashlight to the house looking for "shiny" things.. :saint:

Hahahahah! Stage 5 clinger...oh how I love Wedding Crashers. That movie has the BEST quotes!

Bean - that is too funny!!!

I won tickets to a broncos football game at work today!! DH is sooo excited! They are amazing seats :)

Unexpected side effect of breaking up with M: losing all sense of home I had in this country. He anchored me - we had defined places that were *ours* and I felt comfortable. Breaking up with him is essentially breaking up with those places - they never held much meaning to me, but he cared about them so much that I adopted them as my own. I guess over the past month that faded away, and now I'm adrift. I should have enough practice with that to be okay with it, but realizing suddenly that my anchor is gone and the only thing I have even resembling a "home" is half a world away is a major wake up call. Realizing I'm in this place that makes me horribly uncomfortable and makes me feel almost two dimensional - like all the depth I have that I'm used to exploring and exposing doesn't exist, and I'm barely more than a photograph - without any more reason to be here than to be anywhere else in the world (less reason, actually, since I don't *want* to be here and never really did) is terrifying.

I need to remember how to float.

How can people not think before they talk?? I work with someone who always bring up hot subject issues. At least 2 everyday and he is so opinionated that it just makes me very frustrated. Today it was about how he doesn't really care if someone loses a soldier overseas that is close to that person. As someone who lost a loved one overseas, this is a very touchy issue and quite frankly, does not belong in the workplace. I told him I lost someone and he asked who, so I told him it was someone I dated for about 6-7 years. His response? Aren't you married? Why are you talking about your ex boyfriend? UGH! Just because I am married doesn't mean I can't harbor feelings about traumatic experiences from the past (note that I don't spend every day thinking about the person I lost, I typically remember him on memorial day and when subjects like this are brought up). I think he is aware that I am offended as he is finally shutting up for once. I can't stand being around him. If I tell him that something offends me, he's all oh free speech yadda yadda....how about consideration for other people's feelings, how about that?!?! :angryfire: Oh boy, I hope this post doesn't make me sound like a horrible person :(
