Thanks very much Princesss, Kaleigh, Packie, Yssie, Missy, Kama, Maisie, Decogirl, and Steal. It's not easy to lose someone, but it helps to hear words of encouragement, sympathy, etc. My husband's been terrific through this and other recent events. I think I'll keep him.

I found out today that a family friend passed away earlier this week, very unexpectedly. Her birthday is today (40). Her family lives in FL and I can't be there for the memorial service. My parents are going though. My husband and I are going to the beach (a place she loved) and I'm going to read a letter I wrote to her. We're holding our own service -- that seems fitting. I still can't believe she's gone.

What a terrible tragedy. I'm very sorry for your loss. I think doing your own memorial for her is a lovely tribute.

Warning: Don't ever drink vodka tonics, followed by a lemon drop shot chased with chocolate martinis. Very bad things happen when you wake up. I spent half the day feeling like a 22/23 year old and not in a good way. Ugh. It's been at least TEN YEARS since I felt this bad.

I just wanna say that my my cat chewed on my laptop cord and now it is about to die! (the laptop, not the cat!) I heard this snap, crackle pop! and looked over to see the cat dropping the cord and shaking his head with an 'oh that tickles! lets do it again!" and then going back for more!! Crazy kitty.

This is the second cord this year he has done this to. It's going to take me forever to find another cord, i hate being laptopless!

Our cat ate our laptop cable this year too. Very annoying. Plus the kitten got through a mobile phone charger cable. I couldn't believe a universal laptop charger cost €70!

Davi -- your last post made me laugh out loud. Literally. But I refuse to write "LOL" because it makes me feel like a 16-year-old, and not in a good way.

Most of my good friends are 16 year old girls, and by that I mean mid to late 20 something males who are light in the proverbial loafers.

Thanks Jas and April. We did go to the beach today and it was the perfect weather for it. We walked on the beach, found a nice rock to sit on and I read my letter to my friend. We said a few prayers and then stared at the water for a really long time, just thinking about our times together. It was the most peaceful place to be (the beach), and I'm really glad we went. I love my husband for thinking of it.

So apparently, I get to pay for the library books that were in my car when it was stolen. To the tune of nearly $200. Awesome. The library told me to claim it on my insurance. Um, with it falling under the homeowners policy, that deductible being $1000 and it increasing the chances of being dropped, I don't think so.

I also have to get a police report to prove they were stolen. Which Dh apparently didn't get a copy of. The records dept at the police has been ringing for three minutes in my ear.... Nothing yet. Joy.
