I just wanna say -- the random comments thread

This evening has been eye opening for me. High School never ends for some people. Pathetic.
I'm sad for them because think how unhappy one must be to act like that.

Missy -- So true! It sounds like you had an interesting evening. I hope it wasn't too bad!

Our wedding is one month from today!
Still so much to do! I'm not going to stress over it (much) since the most important parts are done. Just some smaller stuff left to do (and it will still be a great wedding even if we don't get those things done!).... oh... and something for FI to wear and something for "A" to wear. Eh. It will work out great!

:appl: How exciting - it will be here before you know it!! :appl:

Just wanted to brag: I got an email today letting me know that I was named to the Vice Chancellor's List for last semester! It's not like the Dean's List for my first degree, where you get a certain GPA and you're automatically included (that was relatively simple to do; I don't remember the GPA requirement being outrageously high). The VC List here is the top 1% of all students, in all programs, at the entire university. I'm really happy!

But...at the same time, it's ruining my 'no stress for the next exam' game plan. Now I want to study super hard so I can do really well, and make VC next semester too.

Hey TP

Woo hoo!!!

JG= WELL DONE.. congratulations!!!

Good job, JG! That's bragging rights for sure! :appl: :appl: :appl:

JG -- Awesome! You have been working so hard I am not at all surprised to hear you are in the top 1%. Congratulations :appl:

I've been going back and forth over a diamond at GOG and Jonathan reached out with a phone call to find out if he could help. When I picked up the phone (at work) and heard his voice, I said "Jonathan"? like he was celebrity whose voice I immediately recognized. All those diamond videos ...

I bought a small loose diamond from bluenile, which is supposed to be shipped on Thursday. So i'm sitting here, feeling all happy and excited, checking out the stone's GIA report online and then, boom, it hit me...Will this diamond be covered by Blue Nile's upgrading policy ??? I had taken this as a given fact but then i started having doubts...and for good reason...I checked again at the website and this is what i read: "The Blue Nile Diamond Upgrade Program is available for purchases shipped to the US. Upgrades for other countries may be eligible on a case-by-case basis" I e-mailed them some hours ago about this issue and still no answer... :(

Why do work days take so long to get thru, but weekends fly by???

Tic tock..... its only "hump" day, too....

I need ideas about geckos and doorways. We have a LOT of geckos on the outside of our house. I actually don't want to get RID of them because they are good insect control and they're cute! Here's the problem though, they try to come in the doors, and when I'm letting dogs OUT, that becomes a problem. Last night I squished my second gecko in the door. ;( ;( ;( What's worse, is that I then found his eyeball on my arm. :knockout: I feel like a bad gecko home provider, almost like a bad mom. I don't want them to leave, so I don't want some way to get rid of them, but does anyone have ideas about doorways? I know this is random and weird.

DF -- Ick! I don't know anything about geckos other than they are cute and good at eating bugs. Would they be startled away if you had a screen door so that you and the dogs could make noise while opening the main door?

Too patient - That I'm not sure of, but it might just be an answer we'll be trying! They do tend to move away with forewarning, like if I'm on the outside and walk up to our front door, they move away.

The storm a few nights ago was pretty neat

Thank you. And yes took that myself off of our balcony. That's actually the Sears Tower out in the distance. The lightning was absolutely insane that evening.

WOW!! impressive STORM *and* picture!!! Too bad you couldn't have met us at DiamondZone when I visited in August --- bummer!!! NExt trip... I'll hold you to it!! :wink2: I love those kinds of shots where you can actually catch lightening - that really looks amazing! Great photo!! :appl:

Sears... as in the Willis Tower??? ;)) lol -- I remember the tourguide getting his knickers in a twist about someone calling it the Sears Tower and he just went off on this rant... buddy, hey, CHILL!! We are tourists, we are simple, we don't know the politics behind it and its always been known as the Sears tower! It was a tad belittling when he finally finished making fun of this poor tourist, and I felt really bad for the guy. We did not tip that tour guide... :nono:

Beautiful photo. I miss the incredible lighting during midwest storms. Storms in Australia aren't nearly as cool. :nono:

First day of my new quarter!

They have a good chunk of the school parking lots shut down. The first week of fall quarter is next to impossible to park even with all lots open. I'm hoping it won't be so bad as they have people supposed to direct parking this week.

It WILL be a better quarter. I have amazing resources through online courses FI found over the summer. I can learn the material even if my instructors can't teach and the assigned books are awful.

I am choosing to let go of the anger and resentment I've been feeling. I am choosing to use it as motivation to get me through the next few quarters. I am choosing to make the community a better place instead of continuing the path others have chosen.

But first....
Coffee!

Wow!!!! Beautiful photo!!!!!

It's raining here. It will be raining for three days. ::)

Amazing photo ascari!

Wow, that's a spectacular photo :sun: And I'm completely amazed that you managed to catch it!! I can't begin to count the number of times I've tried to snapshot lightning and failed - the only way I ever get anything is to load up on ND filters and leave the shutter open for a few seconds.

If anyone has a little spare dust, I'd sure appreciate it!

We're trying to rent out a condo we own, and it's costing us big money while it sits empty. We're also paying big tuition bills now. :|

Please send whatever you can spare.

Thank you!

I believe we are in the same state, but you are way north of me. It has been raining here off and on for the last month and this week has been awful. My yard is flooded and I feel waterlogged. :knockout:

iLander -- Lots of dust your way! I hope you get a renter soon and that the flooding gets better!

SB -- I've been wondering if you were going overseas again. I can't believe they're going to make you wait longer to find out!
Does that cut the time you have to prepare to move or does it shift your move date?

My bank is STUPID and I quit! :angryfire: :angryfire: :angryfire: :angryfire:

That is all.
