VR-I'm sending good health vibes to your dear brother Fred and big hugs to you...hoping for a full recovery for Fred!

Ah VR, so sorry to read this - I'll be hoping the docs can figure this out quickly, and Fred is on the road to recovery soon - will be keeping all of you in my thoughts, hugs during this difficult time.

Very worried about my brother Fred - he's in ICU - fever of unknown origin -and apparently lots of blood leaking (or leaked) from his stomach because of a bleeding ulcer. I'm not sure what the connection is, but docs are doing a brain scan, fearing neurological damage. Fred is oldest younger brother - only 57 YO. Concerned for him and his wife and my parents.

That's all.

I'll be thinking of Fred and your entire family. I hope he has a quick and full recovery.

Big hugs for you all!

Great news - the brain scan came back negative - no neurological damage.

I guess the loss of blood lowered his blood pressure so much that they were concerned about impacts on brain function. Fortunately that didn't happen in this case. They're also honing in on the infection that sent him to the hospital in the first place, so that's looking up too.

Amazingly, the doctors knew how concerned my mother was, so after they broke the news to my SIL, they called my mother to tell her- at 2 a.m.! (She's a former nurse and has been monitoring things - and of course worrying - from afar).

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. <3

ETA - Gratitude. I'm just overwhelmed with gratitude right now.

Oh good news, VRBeauty! Glad there's no neurological damage, and hope they get the rest sorted asap!

I'm totally stoked about the Trinity Ring, however I should have gotten the larger size. :( :( I have emailed my rep and hopefully I can exchange it easily without having to make the 2+hr trek there. That's why no SMTB thread (that and the SD card doesn't like my computer). I wish I had listened to my instincts and gotten the 56. Yes the 55 fits, fits GREAT alone, but I'm a stacker, and stacking the 55 is tight. This is not good as my fingers aren't swollen right now. ;( ;( ;(

Welcome to the club. DH gifted me with the trinity this past Wednesday, for my birthday. I too am having sizing qualms. I have fat fingers size 9,he got me the 60 which is fine, but I'm worried about stacking with my 5 stone it's a bit snug, and I've already got a touch of arthritis in my pinky finger, and I'm afraid I will get it in my ring finger and then the 60 will be too tight. I'm going to try to see if the Cartier about 1 hour away has a 61 to try.
If so I will bring my 5 stone with me to see how it goes.

Oh that's great VRBeauty!!! Continued positive thoughts that the infection is taken care of quickly!

Great news VR...

hoping for a speedy recovery.

VR -- Wonderful news! I hope they are able to treat the remaining infections and issues quickly and completely!

I was already behind in uni, due to the funeral and family events, and now I am sick. Proper 'hit by a truck' sick, which usually only happens about once each year. I had to miss lab today, will likely miss tomorrow. I'll be sooooo far behind. :blackeye:

In good news, before I stumbled out of a lecture this morning to go home for a fever-wracked nap, we got our biochem midterm tests back - 96%. DH helped me study and he's more excited than me. :appl:

woo hoo! congrats- vice chancellors list again, me thinks, for this semester!

JustGinger - I'm so sorry you're sick. I've been fighting a bug for about three weeks now and it is not fun I know! I hope you find a way to keep up despite missing labs. It sounds like you're doing GREAT in classes though!!!! So Congrats on that!

I started classes to be certified as a yoga instructor this weekend. Even just two and a half days was an amazing experience! I have one weekend a month for nine months. The course requires that we take two yoga classes a week to stay fresh, plus we have several assignments. I am in a group of ten and we all get along so well and they're such an amazing group of people! I'm going to be following a vegetarian diet for the nine months as well, and if I feel it has benefited me, I'll keep it longer. EEE so excited!

:appl: Happy Belated Birthday! :D The Trinity is so fun, :D I love mine, even though it's sitting lonely in a box! Hopefully you get your sizing all worked out! :D

Distracts-amazing picture!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love that band, and though I"m not sure you bought it to pair with your sapphire ring I actually love the mix of colors!!!! I saw be stocking SMTB for your photo shoot!

As for me this week I'm heading back up north to New England. One of my best friends from college is getting married this summer so she has asked me to be in her bridal party. I love her, she is like a sister to me. She is that friend you rely on when times are hard, or when you doubt yourself she will be the one to bring you out of your funk. I'm excitied to see fall foilage again, plus friends and co-workers who I haven't seen since my own wedding. I can't wait!

MAZEL TOV!!!!!! Enjoy your wedding TP!!!!!!! I hope you have a fabulous day!

So DH got stationed in S Korea in Feb. We have been working on getting our command sponsorship packet done ever since he left, so that our two daughters(was preg when he left, delivered in July) and I could move over. My due date in July rolled around and it still hadn't been approved, so DH came back for a few weeks for the delivery and to help out. Well, after jumping through hoops left and right to get everything done that they wanted for the packet to be approved so that we can get over there ASAP, we hear back this past week that they will not approve for he to come over until March 2014...over a year after he left. *sigh*

I know it is only 4.5 more months and that we are 2/3 of the way done, but it is still frustrating! I am exhausted chasing after our 3 year old and getting her potty trained, and caring for our 3 month old. Plus I was really hoping that we could be back together before Christmas. DH is seeing if he can get it approved for him to come visit over Christmas. Technically they don't have to let him since he already took his one leave(vacation) that they are allowed per year for unaccompanied tours. His unit is supportive of him being able to take leave again since they know the mess we have been dealing with, but unfortunately they don't have the final say. So, if I could get a little dust sent my way that he can come back to visit over Christmas and that I don't go insane from sleep deprivation/stress before March, I would greatly appreciate it!!!!

Thanks!

Just have to focus on school for a few more hours and then I can go back to the final details!
Have a differential equations mid-term (30% of my grade) this morning :knockout:

I'm sorry you're still waiting!

I hope he's able to make it home for Christmas. I'll also be hoping someone changes their mind and sends you over sooner! (I don't know how the whole process works, but I hope you won't have to wait until March)
March may be "only" 4.5 more months, but you've been away from your husband for so long already AND taking care of two children. I can't imagine how difficult that is!

Big hugs!

Thanks, TooPatient. It has been quite a process. I think if we had known it would be a year from the get go, we would have been able to legally prepare for it and it wouldn't be as bad. We often deal with separation due to deployments and training. This just seems worse to me because of the back and forth teasing of "you can come over...wait, no you can't."

From this point on I am going to assume that he can't come back for Christmas and that we will be waiting until March to move. That way if he can come back or we can go over earlier, it will just be a pleasant surprise instead of a huge disappointment when it doesn't happen.

Congratulations TooPatient!!! Wishing you and the happy hubby many many wonderful years together!

I don't want to start a whole thread, but SO's uncle passed in his sleep last night. He was only in his very early sixties, and more like forties in spirit and body. We just got the call that he couldn't be awakened this morning. We are devastated. He was such a vibrant and energetic person. He was just playing with his fog horn from a shrimp boat. Like a little boy with a new toy. Any prayers and positive feelings that can be spared, we would appreciate them. He was an artist. He made all of the cabinetry and wooden furniture in his and his wife's home, and it was more beautiful than most woodwork I see now. He was a dedicated fireman until he retired, and a caretaker for lost animals of any sort. I'm going to miss his hugs. ;(

I'm very sorry to hear of your loss, Dragonfly. My condolences to you, and to your SO's family.

Oh no DF, I'm so sorry! What a shock, and such a tragedy - my condolences to you, your SO and his uncle's family and friends, such a difficult thing.

I am so sorry, Drangonfly. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. (((Hugs)))

Dragonfly, my heart goes out to you and your family at this time. I'm so sorry.

Thank you everyone, it's very surreal. I'm still in a bit of shock right now.
