No. 2 from this thread is my favorite.

I know I''m in the minority here, but I''m not really a fan of the layers in dress #2 from the old thread. I liked #3 in the old thread best, and #4 in this thread is one of my absolute favorite dresses. I would suggest that you keep trying on dresses in the same shape/style since that seems to be what you''re drawn to. Even though they all look good on you, and you seem to be having the same, it''s nice, but it''s not WOW reaction, you might still find a dress that is similar but just has something about it that you won''t be able to forget about, if that makes any sense.

They were all Henry Roth except for one. I don''t know which one though!

lol it''s funny...because all four of those dresses I was like, "This one. Absolutely!! This one!!!"
Maybe I just like wedding dresses! lol.

It could be the flash too...or the fact that I''m cropping my head off. No idea why I did that anyway since there is already a pic of me on here somewhere. lol!

Have you tried on some with fuller skirts aka Robbie''s dress? That might be visually different than the a-lines. Maybe some straps for variety?

Yeah...the only problem with that is that I''m getting married outside on a lake. A ballgown is just too much for that setting.

The more I look at #4, the more I like the shape. The only thing I''m not loving about it is that thin ribbon or whatever it is right at your lower waist... it divides the dress and makes it look like a top and a skirt, instead of ONE dress. Gah, I''m not sure if I''m making sense...

But the SHAPE of it is by far the most flattering, IMO.

My favorite is old number 2

I know what you mean, Musey. My mom actually had to ask me if it was a two-piece. I''m not at all attracted to two-pieces, so that could be what is making me hesistate about the dress as well.

i''m in th eminority here but i think #3 on this thread looks the best on you!

Ok, so no ball gowns.

What about a-lines with no defined waist or a higer empire type line, and maybe still try some on with straps. I was helping a firend shop a few months ago and she was set on the same style, strapless a-line, and ended up getting a halter instead.

To be honest, I don't like any of the four in this new thread. The material just doesn't look very nice in pictures.

...And then, you went and posted #2 from the last thread and reminded me of how fabulous it looked on you, so my vote is for #2 from the previous thread. Without a doubt!

ok...just looked at the thread again and somehow i had missed dress#2 from the old thread! i really really like it on you! very flattering...and perfect for an outdoor wedding.

Lucky--Have you been limiting your options to a-lines? If so, maybe just *try* some other silhouettes, just to see what they look like on you. I literally fell in love with the opposite of what I thought would look great on me.

HOWEVER, if you loved ALL of these dresses, then I think you should choose the one that you love the most. I most definitely knew that my dress was THE DRESS the minute I had it zipped up. If you felt that way for all four, perhaps you just need some more time to prance around each one in the store to figure out which you love the most.

I''m not a huge fan of the old #2. I do like the new #2 and #4. I would love #4 if it had a wonderful train. I''d still keep looking

but #2 is really beautiful.

I picked a dress!

It''s Leanne Marie by Maggie Sottero.
I have a pic, but it''s not the best because the dress was actually two sizes too big for me. It''s a lace back and it was pretty much pulled to capacity. You can also kind of tell how the torso is a little longer than it is supposed to be. However, I felt like I was floating on air when I put it on and the train was the perfect length. Once it is in my size I should get the same waist definition that I got in dress number 4...or at least that''s what the lady told me!

So....here goes nothing. Be gentle with me!

It''s definitely my favorite of all. Great choice, I love it!

Be gentle? Be gentle she says. We were in the midst of a voting war and she goes out and buys one without our consent. Be gentle...ok...how gentle? Do you want us to be Frank?

Ok here goes...as gentle as I can muster....as polite as I can...bring myself to be....

oh....the laundry is finished...be back later....

ok....sorry I thought it would be funny to leave you hanging...you ok???

I LOVE IT
!!!!!!

It gives you height...elongates you....it has definition...your figure is the main attraction...it has elegance...and motion. Yeah...all the folds give it fluidity.

I think you made a great choice. And you said you floated...then you listened to what YOU thought...and were transported!! Good girl! You are going to make a beautiful stylish bride! Congrats on the choice! Yipppeeee!!!

It''s gorgeous!!! You picked a winner, it looks fab on you!!

Love love love it!!!! That dress was made for you! Did I mention that I LOVE IT?!

Luckystar,

I didn''t participate in the voting, though I read your posts, because none of the dresses grabbed me enough to make me feel comfortable doing so. They were all "eh...it''s nice...". THEN, you show this Maggie, and let me just say...

THANK GOD!!!!

It is PERFECT for you. I''m so happy to see that not only did you keep looking, but you had the sense to stop when you found this baby! Congrats!!

Awww thank you guys so much!
I haven't bought it yet....I'm still too nervous!! I know that I really loved it when it was on, but then again I'm so afraid that I WON'T like it when it's actually my size.
And actually, the fabric is a crushed silk taffeta...you can't really see it in the photo, but it's sort of crinkly looking all over it and sort of has a faint shimmer to it. I can't decide if I love it or hate it. One of the women there (customer, not sales person) was saying that outside on the lake the different angles of the sun will bounce off of it in different ways like candlelight, and that made me love it even more...but I'm still not SURE. That women saw me in both dresses, the number 4 that everyone on here liked, and this one...and she chose this one.

ahhhhhhh. It's the weirdest thing. I try on a dress and love it, and then a few hours later I feel uneasy about it. I think I have a little bit of added pressure because my mother is going to put down the deposit. It makes me feel like I won't be able to change my mind later, yanno? I think it's making me crazy!!!!!!!

It's the number one contender though, for right now. There's another shop I can go to, but I don't know if I'm going to. There are SO MANY ugly dresses out there. SO MANY!!! Some of them I seriously wonder if anyone actually BUYS or if the owner just wants to come off like they have a large inventory. lol. I went dress shopping all day today and I am seriously exhausted with looking. I do love the dress though, and that has nothing to do with me being exhausted. I'm just nervous about it!!!

LOL!!!!!
Then I go and rant about how I'm nervous and I might go to one more store. So you think I should quit while I'm ahead?
I definitely will unless someone says I can do better.
I'm the most indecisive person in the WORLD. I swear to you. It's just hard doing it alone, ya know? Everyone from my Mom and BMs to you guys have to look in photos instead of in person. It makes it so hard.

Here it is on the model. If you look close you can kind of see the crinkles in the skirt. It''s way more pronounced in real life.
I know it''s silly. I guess I''m thinking of what TGal said about how the shimmeryness of those others dresses didn''t photograph well, where as this dress didn''t photograph that shimmery so I shouldn''t worry about it. But I didn''t use the flash I don''t think. hmmm.

Here''s a pic of the back where you can see the crinklyness more closely.
Keep in mind that it isn''t sitting on me right because it''s too big...

Edit: I think it''s funny that there was already a pic posted on the forum titled "crinklyback" lol.

I''m generally really indecisive, too, so though I haven''t tried any dresses on yet I''m a little worried I might have the same issue. If I also didn''t have anybody in town who could give me a 2nd opinion (besides the sales girls) I would probably go crazy. That said, here''s my never-met-you-and-solely-based-on-the-photos review of the Maggie dress:

It''s both classic and modern. It''s simple, but still eye-catching. It doesn''t blend in with every other dress on the rack. The details are placed in such a way that they draw attention to YOU and not themselves. The slight shimmer/crinkle in the fabric seems to give the dress life without being blinding or distracting. Yes, the dress you tried on was too big, but even so it looks great on you. I think that in the right size it will fit you very much like it fits the model with all the elements in their proper places. It accentuates your waist without cutting you in half (something I don''t like about dress 4 and others with that seam across the waist). Above all, your feelings describing how you felt when you put it on speak the most loudly!

My suggestion would be to go try this dress on again and see if those same feelings come back. Do you have any specific concerns that may be making you uneasy? If there''s something about the dress that bothers you, maybe you can find a similar dress with all the elements you love and not the ones you don''t.

Oh Lucky! Yay! I adore this dress on you! I really really think it is perfect and yards above the rest in terms of style and the overall "wow" factor! Congrats on finally finding one that you truly love! All that hard work has truly paid off!

It''s beautiful on you, lucky! Great choice.

Its gorgeous!!!! It compliments your frame very well, and in the right size it will be absolutely amazing

I tried a very similar dress by Nicole Miller in the crinkle metal taffeta and I LOVED IT!!!! It was so light and I also had a floaty moment in it how fun huh... Anyway I think you wouldnt be disappointed later it if you got this one, go for it
