Portia - wow Haley really is small! Has Zoe reached her full size yet? I have never seen a Savannah in person before, but would love to see one in action!

Here's a picture of the boys relaxing - can you see how one has his paw around his brother's shoulder? They are so cute together!

Cuteness!!!!!

ETA: How DO you tell them apart???

So I passed on the silver boy. I talked with the breeder, and she didn''t want to hold him much longer after selection, and I wouldn''t be able to take any kitten until October. Oh well. I guess I''ll stick with my two Bengal babies. But the Siberian breeder said that Bengals are very high-allergen producers?? I never came across this in my research - I mean, Bengals aren''t thought to be ''hypoallergenic'' like Siberians are, but I didn''t think they were especially notable for producing higher amounts of allergen. On the Bengals board, people have said that they hadn''t had problems...but of course that''s anecdotal. I also e-mailed my Bengal breeder to ask, but haven''t heard yet. I''m a little confused....and also wondering if maybe the Siberian breeder is just saying that to dissuade me from getting a different type of cat. Gah.
BEG - I agree that the Siberian breeder is just trying to keep you from getting a Bengal instead. My husband is very allergic to cats and he is not having any problems with our Bengals. Before we had them we only had one cat so I was a little worried that having two might cause a problem for him but so far so good! They do not shed at all and their coat is not exactly like that of a regular cat - it''s much sleeker and they aren''t as "fluffy" as a shorthaired domestic - kind of hard to explain but their coat is less dense. The breeder actually refers to it as their "pelt." You''ll see when you get to visit the breeer in PA!

They are hard to tell apart aren''t they! One of them is a little darker than the other - you have to look at his back and you can tell by the stripe where his spots connect on his back by his tail (the other one''s spots are a little more separated). His face is also a little darker. It''s easier to tell when they''re right next to each other!

The darker one also has a rosette on his shoulder that is heart-shaped instead of round! I noticed it shortly after we got them and when I told my husband about it he said I have waaaay too much time on my hands if I noticed that!

I''m so glad to hear you say that! I did read about their pelt-like coat, and how it minimizes shedding and spreading of dander. It does seem suspicious about the Siberian breeder''s comments....and I''m lately realizing that things can be, ahem, "catty" (pun intended) in the breeding world

omg I love this picture. I love the paw around his brother''s shoulder. lol This just defines the fact I will have to get 2 babies. :)
Isn''t that cute? You will definitely want two of them! We are so happy that we got two - they really love each other and they look so cute when they''re sleeping intertwined!

They also get upset if they get separated. Sometimes I shut some of the bedroom doors to keep them out of trouble and every once in awhile I don''t notice that one of them is under the bed. I quickly find out when the brother starts crying!

I agree - unfortunately some people will say anything to keep your business!

I can''t wait until you can see in person what their coat is like. My girlfriend has two cats and she came to visit my boys and she could not get over how different their coats feel.

They love the windowsill

Yes, Haley is tiny and you wouldn''t believe how much she eats. She''ll eat her bowl of wet food and then finish what''s left in the other cats bowls. I wish I had a metabolism like hers! LOL We actually have to feed her in a separate room because she''ll scarf down her food and they go bump Ghengis out of the way and eat his before he''s finished.

I believe Zoe has reached full size. She hasn''t changed much in the last 6 mos. and she''ll be 3 yrs old in Sept.

OMG Lvnut, they''re SOOOOOO cute. Seriously I squealed in delight when I saw the new pics - BF thinks I''m crazy

Portia (and LV too) what do you feed your kitties? I was taking a look through some of the past cat food threads here, and I was thinking of transitioning the kittens (not sure what they eat now) to Avoderm wet and dry food....maybe half and half.

UPDATE!

One litter was born today! It''s the brown rosetted litter! The only thing is, only 3 kittens were born, so I''m not sure if I''ll be able to pic. First priority is to the breeder (if she wants to keep any kittens), then people looking for show and breeder kittens. And then finally, people looking for pets - and there''s one other person ahead of me. So far there are two boys, not sure about the third yet. I REALLY hope that the kittens aren''t show/breeder quality! There are two other litters coming up, but they''re both snow kittens...and while I want one of those, I really want one brown rosetted as well.

Update 2: Found another breeder. She has two kittens that are perfect. Boy and girl littermates, gorgeous brown rosetted- their color is stunning. They''ll be 10 weeks by the time I''m ready to take them, so timing is perfect. No one else on the waitlist. Unfortunately, they''re $1400 each ($1500 actually, but I get $100 off each one if I get two). Way out of my price range. And I could take one if the second is cheaper, but her other kittens are all $1200 each (one brown marble, and two silver girls).

Our kittens were fed raw meat while still living with the breeder. She sent us home with some while we transitioned to dry food and wet food. She actually suggested feeding them Iams and Purina One for dry so that''s what we''ve been doing. Although I wonder if there is something better that we should be feeding them. Our last kitty was on special food since he was diabetic so I''m used to having to go to a specialty store to get food. Hopefully Portia will let us know what she''s feeding her kitties.

That''s good news about the new litter! When will they be ready to come home? Would love to see pics if you have any!

here is a pic of the litter from the other breeder - Legacie Bengals. Sadly, they are out of my price range. Still waiting to hear from a couple other breeders. Sigh.

ETA: There's a pic of their brother, who's a brown marble, on the website. These two are brother and sister.

They are so cute! But they are priced rather high. We didn''t pay anywhere close to that. I hope you find some soon in the right price range!

Definitely pricey, though gorgeous kitties. I just heard from another breeder - need pricing though!

Just heard back from another breeder - this might be the winner. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Oh MAH Stars..... these kitten pictures are giving me a cavity from the CUTE!
I''m still trying to convince SO to rescue a kitty. He loves cats but doesn''t want one for a pet...

I say just bring one home!

You said he loves them, so maybe after looking at its adorable face, he won''t be mad. It seems like he needs a nudge and then he''ll get going on his own.

That''s great! Hope this one works out!

BEG - Hope this gives you something to look forward to!
