The back....

luckyhonu - what a stunning dress!!! I''m sure you will be a beautiful bride! The slight sheath/ A-line style is gorgeous!

I wish I could get a control slip for under my dress, but I want to see skin between the back laces - no modesty panel for me! I tried on some of VS''s tummy control and control panties but I think they were all too high in the back. At least I don''t have to wear a bra (i.e. buy a new one) in the boned corset top!

luckyhonu - I REALLY love your dress. Its gorgeous. Its simple yet VERY bridal.

Thanks. In all the mountains of strapless gowns I thought I wanted, I saw this hanging and decided to try it on. I love how the v neck is slimming - and the jeweled neckline - let''s just say it''s very BLING! So bling that I don''t need crystals on my veil, a necklace, just my diamond studs from DiamaondIdeals. The crystals sparkle like no other. It''s a bit out of my budget but I think I found a place online that''ll give me a good price. :)

Now, if I can just find some elegant shoes to go with it that I can chuck out after the grass stains it up...

I AM LOOKING FOR THIS DRESS!! It''s the almost identical to a Rivini dress I tried on, but I can''t afford Rivini''s price tag. Another person on this forum also has this dress I think. Who makes the dress? What''s the style#? Please please help!! Thanks a million in advance!!

tachi i pm''ed you about your dress for more info... dun wanna take over this thread!

mochie - which dress are you talking about? There are about a hundred dresses posted in this thread?!

MelissaSue-
Sorry I am new to this site/forum, guess I did not secify which dress in my excitement! The dress I''m looking for is the one that Tachi and Flopkins has on in this forum. It is strapless, a-line with 3 rows of champagne ribbon (?) below the bust and 2 rows of ribbons on the waist area. Hopefully I can find the dress brand/style# so that I can go hunt for it here locally. Thanks for the helps!

mochie - Try private messaging tachi (if you click on her avatar, you''ll get that option),or some members have it enabled so you can send a message directly to their email.. She probably will get the info for you.. i just don''t think she has seen your posts..

I think ive found my dress!!!

It is a combination of certain things i liked on all the dresses i have tried on. I have pictures of me in it, but i forgot to bring my camera to work to download them! Here are some pics from the website... its a Dere Kiang, Spring '04, style 1362.

1362C.jpg

Detail on the bodice... i love the very top where there is that little bit of see through.

1362F.jpg

LOVE LOVE LOVE the scalloped edging on the bottom of the satin skirt and the embroidery design in the middle

1362B.jpg

And my FAVORITE part... the back! It is SO stunning in person. The train is organza with the same scalloped edging that is on the skirt. It has a petal back which makes the bustle look knock-out. There is silver thread outlining the flowers in the lace and little silver disks that catch the light and sparkle so nicely!!!

Sorry this is so long, ive just been reading all about your dresses and loving every minute of it, i wanted to share mine (finally)!!! I'll try to get the pics of me in the dress up tonite or tomorrow!

MelissaSue - I went back to try on the Maggie dress we were talking about before (in LIW) and it is the Sabrina. But i found the above dress at the same place and like it even more!

oh njc--- that is gorgeous!!!!!!! i love the organza!! i wanna see pics w/you in it... i like the real pics so much better than the model ones...

NJC- LOVE IT! Especially the back!!!!!!!! I found the sabrina on the maggie site(the new dresses are finally on it!) and I like this one SOO much more. The back is sooo pretty!

OK ladies!

I''m new here but this dress thing is really fun. I''m getting married on the beach in Mexico so I''m wondering if you guys have suggestions. There is one dress I love but could never spend the money on and thats the Melissa Sweet "Hallie Long". I''m not to big on the princess thing but I would like something fun and light. I''m open to your ideas, you girls really seem to know your stuff.

Oh kniemi!
Please oh please oh please tell me about your wedding on the beach in Mexico! I''m seriously thinking about such an escape!

Well.........

Its going to be in April 2006 in the Riveria Maya at the Bahia Principe (an all-inclusive). We expecting at least 50 guests and its going to to a week long party with lots of fun. On the beach, beautiful flowers, white sand , green water, warm weather. And best of all no stress, very little planning and very little money ($1200 for the wedding package) I''m really getting excited which is funny because I was not really a wedding person and never thought I would really care to have one. My fiance and I have been together for 7 years!

Knemi - The Hallie Long was my dream dress too!

The dress I ended up getting is actually really similar!

Forever Bridals 42202.. There are pics of it on me.. on page.. 11ish? of this thread?

I also saw this AWESOME dress that someone on theknot.com got from davids bridal that is really similar to the hallie too.. but it was a test gown.. so its not online or anything. Lets see if I can try to locate the picture again!

Here she is!
Knottie UNC Denise
I really love her gown..

All I know is it is a brand new dress at davids bridal. Its a "Test" so they may not have it at all stores.. but isnt it PRETTY? Looks so soft and flowy

Holy carp! Who is that MelissaSue? What a bod! (and not in a lesbo pervy kinda way LOL)
There must be something wrong with me. I notice the figure before the pretty dress... I am

with envy LOL

I don''t know who she is..just a picture I found on theknot.com. Her body IS amazing. In her bio she was trying on all these big poofy dresses and they just did nothing for her.. and then she had that dress and it was like WHAM! hot body!

I personally wouldn''t want to be THAT curvy..I Like having no boobs and little hips. but she definitely pulls it off well and that dress is super flattering!

Knemi - I tried on a dress at Davids this weekend that was similar to the dress you like and the one Melissa posted that was at Davids. Its style #2681.

So here is me in my dress! The front...

And the back...

And just for fun to compare... Me in the Sabrina

Wow, nice dress! The back is gorgeous! Is that organza with embroidery?

The train is organza on the first one... the last one has an english tulle overlay.

NJC - Your dress is soooooo pretty. the train is just stunning! I definitely like the Dere Kiang better than the Maggie. (although they are pretty similar) Its just perfect for you!

I tired on that dress at Davids too. It is pretty. My mom liked it almost as much as the dress I picked out. It looks different without the full crinoline.. its just a really slim a-line. Really pretty. It fits nicer than it looks in that picture.

I love both your dress and the one that you posted of that curvy girl. I haven''t tried on any dresses yet si I have no idea what looks good on me. I really short (5''2) and a size 6 but I have an athletic build not a frail one. I run everyday. Maybe this weekend I''ll go try some to get an idea of what I like because I seem to change my mind everyday.

Just try on different style dresses to figure that out. That dress MelissaSue posted of the curvy girl is very nice. I am looking for a dress in that style (either sheath or mermaid) because I figure it will show my curve more and I don''t like ball gown. A line are ok but I like a sleek dress. This is the dress I tried on at Davids Bridal and liked; I like the lacey one MelissaSue posted too but I didn''t know they had that. I am going to ask them about it.

i just wanted to share my first dress shopping experiences with y''all... i first went to david''s and fell in love with a bunch there, but wanted to check out my other options too. so i went to a small shop in my town where you kinda dig for your own dresses but they have nice signature, impressions, and maggie sottero (and others, i can''t rememeber). now, i''ve decided on my wedding theme to be classy elegance and simplicity... i know tha''ts rather broad but i chose the bridesmaid dresses based on that. the bridesmaid dresses are very simple, spaghetti strap, a-line dresses with low backs and full skirts (tulle only in the bottom of the skirt) and little trains. they are champagne colored thick satin.

so i know i am looking for a very full a-line skirt, with a large train, and definitely that satin-y material.

so of course i try on and FALL IN LOVE With a beautiful slimmer, short train, all over lace dress last night!! i am SO DEVASTAED! because i love this dress (i didn''t want to take it off) but it''s nothing that i wanted and i know it''s not right for my wedding. i wish i could have this dress in a different color to wear elsewhere. no... .i wish i had the opportunity to wear such a fancy dress!!!

here it is.. my beautiful dress...

Grace.jpg

i love it! it has the fit and the neckline and the lace-up back (those fit me best since i am, how do you say, busty) that i want... i just need something a little fuller with a longer train and not all-over-lace. but I LOVE IT....

dietvanillacoke - YOu rdress pic won''t work for me.. but I can see which dress it is from the url to the pic.. so I am gonna repost your pics from bridesave.. because for some reason the maggie site pics never show up on this board for more than an hour

Its maggie sottero''s Grace.

Couldn''t you add a very full crinoline to make the gown look fuller?

If you want something fuller..
DId you try on..

I know you said you didn''t want all over lace.. so.. maybe just try another maggie with the lace up back..

Brand new to the board; joined about 10 minutes ago. Hope this works.
