Woohoo, it worked. I bought this from David''s Bridal on my one and only shopping trip. It was the third dress I tried and I nearly cried when I saw it on. I bought the matching mantilla also and am considering buying the gloves to wear for the ceremony only. Any opinions?

Lollybear,
My sister just got the same dress except in the beige color. It is beautiful! She got a different veil and tiara. I''m not a gloves person myself BUT I think for you they would definitely complete the look with that dress and mantilla.

lollybear -Welcome!

I LOVE THAT dress. Its so pretty and old fashioned looking. One of my favorites from David''s. Love the mantilla though.
I don''t love gloves for weddings.. what do you do with the rings? Just seems awkward.

I personally don''t like the gloves, but it depends on what you like.

If I chose to buy them, I'd only wear them for the ceremony. Just thought they might "complete" the look. I'll try them on when I go to pick up my dress. BTW, MelissaSue, I love love love the dress you chose. I thought I wanted a similar style but decided on the poof dress so I don't have to worry about my cottage-cheese thighs showing through or having to suck in my tummy the entire time. LoL

Off topic question:
How do I put multiple photos in a post?

if the picture is online, then you can post multiple pictures using the "picture icon" next the "smiley face icon". To get the URL of a picture, just left click on the picture, then click on "properties" (usually the last item on the list) and then copy and paste the URL to post the picture. Repeat to post multiple pictures.

There is no way to posting multiple pictures that are not online.

Muchas gracias QT!

I am no where near getting married but I loved this dress. (Plus it helps cover up the arms which are NOT my best feature!)

i really like that style angel .. there are also long-sleeved versions of dresses like that if you wanted even more coverage.. and then the jacket is removable so you don''t have to bustle it for the reception!

This is alfred angelo.. its annoying that she is sitting down.. but it says the lace jacket has a semi-cathedral train

And then.. this is what it looks like with the jacket removed

Cute.. isn''t it?!

And then here is a link to a similar gown at David''s Bridal
http://www.davidsbridal.com/bridal_gowns_detail.jsp?stid=1322&prodgroup=10

David''s changed their site to flash so their pictures are non copyable.. really annoying

Thanks, MelissaSue! The one at David''s Bridal is very nice too. I even like the Alfred Angelo without the shall/jacket. Very simple yet elegant. I wonder what it looks like close up?

Very pretty, love em!

grrr. PS is making me mad lately. I keep accidentally getting away from my post and then my post gets deleted.

So anyway.. Angel.. I''m glad you like those dresses.. I also saw a couple more when I was looking through my NEW issue of THE KNOT magazine. THey are both upwards of $3000!! Crazy.. when they are so similar to the other two that are around like $700

KNMBOSF04RUBYl.jpg

this one is by Michael of Boston.. Its more of a sheath than the others which are more A-line

And this one is pricilla of boston. I think this one is especially stunning.. but the others are close enough to it to not spend the extra $2300!

I love lace gowns.. and these ones have always stuck out at me because they are so elegant..

Oooh.. i have one more.. that someone from PS showed ME..

Its a little bit different..
LaceRomona.jpg

There is a plain white spaghetti strap sheath underneath that lace dress. Its Romona Keveza.. probably $4000-$5000

Ohh Melissa that Priscilla of Boston is beautiful!! There is something very elegant and just charming about lace. Love it!! Thanks for all the pics. I never realized how many different styles/dresses there are in that jacket sort of look!

ooh.. I really like that second dress you posted with the off the shoulder straps and the empire-ish waistline. Its very classy looking!

I like the third one too.. it seems very "sweet and innocent" which i would not mind looking on my wedding day..

Lollybear -- I am in LOVE with your dress! It is so so beautiful!!! And Angel -- the second one you just posted -- love love love that one too! It''s so feminine!

That Priscilla of Boston, Melissa, is dropdead gorgeous -- a stunner...but yeah -- like a million bazillion bucks too. NOT FAIR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this is my gown! it''s Yolanda Couture and i got it at a sample sale for 80% off! :-D

i also bought a cathedral length 1-layer veil with crystal and pearl beading around the edges on the bottom and trailing up around the sides! i''m so excited! :-)

and very glad i didn''t spend the $6000 i was about to drop on that Justina McCaffrey Jubilate dress!

princess - your dress looks beautiful.. even though its hard to see since the model is laying on it.. That justina dress is freaking AMAZING but yeah. $6000 YIKES! Gorgeous though.

I ordered my wedding gown on this past Sunday. I can''t stop thinking about it, but it''ll be three months before I get it. I am so excited. I forgot to bring a camera to take a picture of me trying on the dress, so I can''t post it with me wearing it. It''s that same dress I posted early, but I don''t think the picture do the dress justice. When I tried it on, other people shopping for dresses was like that''s is your dress. I am so happy. I got it in ivory tho because I don''t look good in white. I will post picture when I get the dress.

qt -

The dress you posted from davids is really beautiful. I saw a girl trying that on the last time I was there with my friend for her fitting and it looked lovely on her. Can''t wait to see it on you!

The url part is correct, the 2nd part is not quite. If you use Photoshop, you can put several pictures together (as in a collage) and then save the whole thing as one picture. Then post that. For example, check out Jennifers "The Year In Diamonds"

Well you are right. I fail to mention a collage because I think of a collage as a collection of pictures put together to make one picture, so technically you not posting multiple pictures. oh well, I can''t be perfect all the time.

qt - I was just looking through the new issue of the knot magazine and I think your dress is featured in one of the "Real Weddings" Articles. You should check it out!

really!!! I was about to get the magazine at Target the other day. Now I am definitely going to get it.

qt- yeah.. if your dress is the last one that you posted on the last page.. then I''m pretty sure that the girl is wearing your dress. Its on page 40 and the article title is "beauty on the beach." You should definitely get it!

I know I am late, but congrats NJC on your dress. It looks gorgeous.

I love the Justine McCaffrey too. Those prices are crazy
