Oh how GORGEOUS!
It is so elegant and looks so beautiful on you!
I''m supposed to be on my way to the dentist right now and shouldn''t even be posting,
but I was so excited to see that you posted pics, I couldn''t resist.
I abolutely LOVE the train.
A great choice. It''s really too bad we only get to wear these beautiful dresses once!

and ONE more...closeup of train!

oops, forgot the pic...

Thanks, Tybee!!!! I''m glad you like it too! Now get to the dentist! hehehe! :)

OK, now I have to go take a shower and run errands...I''ll be back in a while to see what y''all think!!! :)

Houmedgal

You look beautiful!!!!!!!!! I love the gown..I''m a sucker for slim fitting all lace overlay gowns..my absolute favorite...

lovey

You look so beautiful HMG! It looks so amazing now, I can''t wait to see it when it actually fits you. And I must say, it compliments your Michael E creation wonderfully!

The train is amazing, and it''ll look really pretty bustled. I like it with your hair up and the dangly earrings. What kind of veil do you want? I''m thinking cathedral length, like Melissa''s!! Or just a tiara and blusher length.

So beautiful! (You and your dress, HMG)

I love the lace dresses too. I have never seen so many wonderful ones as on this site!

HouMedGal...
your pics, you, and your dress are just fabulous!!! That lacing is so lovely, from top to bottom. The train is short but just so beautiful the way it flows. Well done!!! You look happy too.

The length looks really great on you...do you agree or are you planning to adjust the length? I always wonder how they do that with lace without taking away the detailing!!

RMS,

I am getting the ivory on with the purple beading.

I just ordered it this week and dont have any pics of it yet.

which did you have?
I got all white...white on white. My skin is really fair but I have really dark brown/black hair, so white is totally the color for me. I tried to convince my husband and family that I should get lilac beading because I just absolutely loved it, but my family is more traditional and said I need to get white. I had to shop by myself because I live far away from my family and didn''t feel comfortable asking any of my friends locally to go with me, and so I had no one to show it to in person to try and convince them otherwise. So my MOH wore purple and I had purple in my flowers instead...hehe.

I absolutely want to see pics when you get yours!!

Just wanted to post mine, Here are a few pictures.. just went for my first sizing for alterations..

Oooh, Mine, that''s so pretty!!! I love the elegant simplicity of it...and the sleeves are really cool the way they split and drape like that!

Lovey: I love the slim lacy gowns too...I like other stuff too, but I never realized how much I loved this style until I put this dress on!!

Mrs. JCJD: Thank you!!! :) Actually, I''m thinking about going veil-less...maybe just a pretty tiara or some sort of flower something-or-other in my hair. As much as I LOVE MelissaSue''s cathedral-length with her dress, it wouldn''t fit with the type of wedding I''m having...somewhat informal, garden, morning, etc. By the way, CONGRATS on finally being a MRS.!!!!! Your pics in the gallery are fantastic...love the one of you getting laced up!! :)

Rube: Thank you very much! I know, it seems as though lots of us on here are going for lacy stuff!

RMS: Thank you too!!! Yes, the train is short, just the way I wanted it! :) I either wanted a short, sweep train, or no train at all. I think the little bit of train just makes my dress that much more elegant. I''m not planning on altering the length at all..it''s perfect! I''ll just take it in along the bust and the waist, but not so much that it''s tight.

HouMedGirl - YAY!!! THAT DRESS IS AMAZING! Absolutely gorgeous. I, of course, love the train, since it looks just like mine! lol.. but your dress is so pretty, I love the little empire bodice and how soft the material looks. You are ABSOLUTELY right that the model pictures didn''t do the dress even a little bit of justice! That is an amazing dress.. I also agree that you should get a long veil with it.
Here''s my veil pic again

:)

MINE!! - Your dress is beautiful. Are you still my date twin? Or did you change your date? I''m nowhere close to being ready for alterations. I need to lose 20 lbs first!

Melissa, that veil is PERFECT for your dress!!! The scalloping along the bottom perfectly matches the scalloping along the hem of your train....LOOOOOVE IT!!! And thanks for the sweet words...I agree, the pics online don''t do it justice at all...MY pics don''t even do it justics, although they''re better than the online ones. The lace IS really soft, it''s so comfortable!

Oh Girls!
So beautiful.
MelissaSue, that veil! Oh!

Ditto all the way for you ladies on p.28....MINE, I love the sleeves on your dress, and it''s great to see that they still put sleeves on wedding gowns
2.gif
since the sleeveless/strapless seems so prevalent these days.

MelissaSue, the way your veil overlays your train, with you train it looks like 3 layers of lace. That is stunning. HouMedGal, I totally vote for the long veil for you too. Heck, have you seen Mara''s full length veil from her outdoor wedding? I thought it was great!

No, I haven''t seen Mara''s! Where can I see it??

Check it out HERE.

MelissaSue...: Yeh , we are still date twins. I actually had to get the first set done beccuase I am going to have my bridal portraits done in the fall. I always wanted to have them outside surrounded by the changing leaves. Also, the dress was was a steal. But it is HUGE on me... so I needed the first alterations done just to get the next ones set. If I had ordered the dress I would have spent 3X the amount for it.. so I went for the one that was in the store.

Thanks, Stretch!! :)

Wow, Mara''s a hottie! She looked gorgeous...I will definitely have to consider having a long veil, you girls make it look so good! I agree that it looks really nice and elegant with the close-fitting sheath style dresses!!

haha speak for youselve! I''m planning to wear mine doing dishes, ironing, cleaning and what not..

HMG I love your dress!! You look so pretty!. I love the lace train!!
36.gif

MS your dress is so stunning! I love the veil. I''m not wearing one,but if I was, I would love one like yours!

MINE, your dress is gorgeous. I like the sleeves..

I''m getting my third (yes third grrrr) fitting on monday. They screwed up the last time, took too much in at the bust and my boobs were getting squashed..
14.gif
hope they figure it out by monday, cuz I have a little over two weeks to go.. yey!

hey all.. thanks for the compliments on my veil. I absolutely ADORE it.. but it was not cheap! Definitely about twice what HMG''s dress costs! lol.. It was one of my big splurges on the wedding, and actually FMIL bought it for me because she could see how much I loved it and I think she knew that I wouldn''t buy it for myself and my mom might try to talk me into something cheaper.
I can''t wait to get it though! My dress was supposed to come in around July 1st and the veil around July 15th.. No sign of either yet.
7.gif
I''m not in that much of a hurry to get my dress, because I''ve put on some weight lately.. not so much since I ordered it, but definitely since I first tried it on.. But I''m excited to see the veil, because I have my tiara now and would like to see them together and see if the veil will work as a blusher or not. (there is a top layer of the veil that is about elbow length that doesn''t really show in the pics.)

Question for Melissa: I too got a really expensive cathedral length veil. I agree with you, they are soooo beautiful and make the whole dress, tiara, veil combo so elegant!!! Anyway: I was just going to wear mine for the ceremony and take it off after pictures. Because it wasw expensive it seems such a waste to wear it for an hour!!! Are you wearing yours during your first dance and introduction at the reception? I have seen people drape it over their arm while dancing. Also, I am DYING to find out how to bustle a veil...do you know?

JessesGirl- My bridal shop showed me how it would be bustled. I think I am going to wear mine for the reception, bustled..

As far as I know there are two ways..

1) You can put it in with your dress bustle (but then your head is attached to your butt, or knees, however it may be) or

2) Basically you bring up the bottom layer, just like you would a dress bustle, and somehow reattach it at the comb. You can probably do this with a loop like a dress bustle, or maybe even with a pin somehow (attach a pin to the comb..). This is what I am gonna do. Maybe ask whoever is doing your alterations how they do it. FMIL is a seamstress so I think she is gonna handle at least the veil bustle for me. The dress alts might be too complicated for her though.
