Angello is just a doll! Sending more prayers and good wishes your way. Glad you got to enjoy some time with Lisa.

Thanks sundial, we had such a nice visit. I just talked to Nan and angello is doing well. They have changed his chest bandage to something called a back sponge that is hooked up to a machine that sucks out the fluid. Sounds like it''s very high tech and will make the healing process go faster. They will change this new dressing every 2 days. They are also lowering one of the blood pressure meds to see how he tolerates that. Once they get his BP to a good level they can start to work to get him off the ventilator. Slow but steady progress is being made.

HI:

Small world--years ago when I did clinical research I worked on a multi-site clinical trial with the VAC (type of wound closure system) you describe. That aside, glad things are moving along and Angello is going well. Thanks for the update Lisa.

cheers--Sharon

That''s cool Sharon. I''m so glad to know it''s name and so glad Angello has this type of technology to assist in his healing process.

Thank you for the update.
Prayers continue!

Ok guys, we need a little extra support. Our little guy is having a tough time with the blood pressure medicine. We need his BP to be strong. Nan will fill you in, but it''s a little tough for her right now. Biggest hugs to Nan and to my angel Angello.

Just checking in and saw this. Nan, please know the support never lags from this crew whether they are online or not (I''ve learned that from just my short time on PS.) Hope you feel it. Prayers and good thoughts continue for Angelo, you, and your entire family.

Lord,
We know that you are working in Angello''s life.
We praise you for the progress he has made.
We ask that you once again lay your healing hands on him.
Heal him Lord
Bring comfort to his family.
Guide the doctors and nurses.
In Jesus'' name we pray
Amen!

Sending more prayers and hoping Angello''s condition improves.

Lots of thoughts and prayers, Angello and Nan!

I think of Angello several times a day and check in here to see how he is doing even if I don''t post. We''re with you, Nan. I''m thinking and praying that he does better with his blood pressure medicine.

I, also. And, as Irina and Leonid posted, many of us do this. You are not alone. Usually I just check in to read without posting, but you should know many of us do that throughout every day, Nan.

Hugs,
Deb

I just got off the phone with Nan. Angello was taken off one of the BP medicines and his BP is good right now. He has a problem with his feeding tube. There is a pocket of fluid in his stomach and they aren''t sure whether or not he is digesting his food. An xray was taken and will know more later about that. They don''t think the fluid is blood though. So that''s it for now.

HI:

Again thanks for the updates Lisa; as others have said, we post less frequently than we actually think about Nan, Angelo and her family.

cheers--Sharon

Hi all- thanks for the thoughts and posts.
I''m glad everyone is holding us near and dear.

It is very slow going right now; very hard for this impatient Mom.

His BP seemed good today and his oxygen levels were higher. They are slowly trying to get him to a point to wean off the ventilator.
I think his stomach issues could be due to all those darned drugs: morphine and verset (spelling)
They are keeping him very well sedated.

you are definately not being forgotten. my prayers continue. banjo

Nan, I do check this thread every day. I don''t post each time. As often as I check, I pray more. Please know that we all care very much about you and Angello as well as your entire family.

Just waiting to hear something. They are trying to wean down the vent as his other BP medicine was stopped, so hoping they can try get him off it by Monday. I''ll let you guys know as soon as Nan calls. Can I just say a HUGE thank you to all of you that check in regularly, it means a great deal to Nan and to me. This is going to be a long road, but the support that has been given here has meant the world to her. You guys are awesome!!!!!

UPDATE: Just got off the phone with Nan. Angello is doing well without the other blood pressure med, he is still on dopamine and tomorrow hopefully they can start to wean him off the ventilator. He is still pointing for the door which is a very good sign and don''t know what the answers were to the digestive issues he is having. His oxygen levels are good, so that too is a very good sign. That''s all I have for now, keep up the good thoughts and prayers as he needs them and so does Nan.

Good news. . . just keep it coming!

The plan for tomorrow is to see how Angello is doing on the one blood pressure medicine and if he is maintaing his BP at a good level, they will start to wean him off the ventilator. That will be a big step in the right direction for him. We want to get him off the ventilator, so tomorrow will be a day of progress I''m sure.
