Lauren that is so gorgeous!!! I got that same setting for my champagne pink diamond and a rose gold bezel, now I'm even more excited about that project after seeing your ring. It's so exquisite!!!

I have a 5 carat oval amethyst purple Mozambique copper bearing tourmaline arriving in the mail tomorrow which I will also probably want to set. This thread is going to get me into BIG trouble!

Does it really take 15 days for him to make a custom piece or longer (is it really 15 business days?). How long does it usually take for it to get to you once you give him your payment? When it''s done, does he automatically email you with the tracking number and estimated date of arrival?

Thanks so much everyone! I may even drop it off to be set tomorrow! My jeweler only charges me $60 for a simple stone setting, so it's sort of too tempting to pass up.

Tourmaline_lover, I'm actually not the best person to ask about custom work. I've only ever had him size settings, nothing else custom. I know there are loads of others that have, though.

tourmaline_lover, I ordered and paid for my custom setting on the 19th of September, and it arrived on my doorstep (Australia) on the 28th, so from go to whoa only 9 days! I''d say it depends on how much work has to go into the piece. Mine was ordering a ring in 2-tone. As soon as it was done (aroung the 5-6 day mark I think??) LOGR emailed me with the tracking number and that it had already been shipped. After that there was only 3 days before I got it, having said that I got the email on a Thursday so the weekend was stuck in that time too. HTH!

I ordered mine on Sept 19th, and still no response from him. He did say it would take 15 days to manufacture. Maybe because he has to change the head size.

Nope, this one is a different seller - I''m taking it to my jeweler today to make sure everything checks out ok.

But, yeah - I am completely smitten! I''m not sure if it''s going to fit in the split shank, so I''ll know all of that this afternoon. If it doesn''t fit in the split shank, I always could have the bezel setting customized to fit.

Something to think about, I guess.
