More Fun Things on Etsy

Wow you guys are getting such beautiful things on Etsy, Wolftress your ring looks fantastic! I would love to have something made by Sally or the woman who''s making MTGs new pendant. My jewelry budget is pretty low these days and I just emptied it out on an interesting handmade bracelet yesterday. Maybe I''ll post it here.

Thanks! My pendant is actually surprisingly reasonable :) The spinels cost 100$ total, and the setting is 75$, so the total is 175, which isn''t too bad for a custom piece. I think one of the great things about etsy is that you can find a vendor and design for almost any budget!

Can''t wait to see your bracelet!

Wolftress your ring is lovely! How long will it be before you get it? (too long, I''m sure!) I can''t wait to see what everyone else is getting as well! I love seeing all the new pretties!

Wolftress, that is beautiful! I love the initials on the sides - can''t wait to see your pictures of it!

Lovinggems, I can''t wait to see your Sally creation too. It sounds lovely!

SapphireLover, Sally is reworking the original setting for my OEC and setting a coloured stone in it. Like you, I wasn''t very happy with the basket of the original setting of my ring. She has given me a few suggestions about how they can fix it. Maybe you could try contacting her for some quotes. Her prices are quite reasonable.

innerkitten, please do post your bracelet here. It sounds beautiful!

packrat, thank you!

Monkeypie, I can''t wait to see it in person! Especially after all the lovely comments from this thread.

Stunning ring wolftress! Isn''t Sally a joy to work with?

Has anybody bought any of Michellechang''s bangles?

I am tempted at buying some, but am unsure about how many you need for the stack to look good? I was thinking a minimum of 5 might be necessary. Have other people got any of them? Could you get away with 3 or do you need some more, say 7?

So many choices!

hey sapphire
I do own some - the silver ones that have one gold dot. I only bought two, but I do think at least 3 or 4 would look better as they''re very fine IRL.
If I were going to wear a stack of say 7 bangles, I''d rather have 4 of these and 3 of something different, yanno?

Thank you! I was thinking of getting 5- 2 twists, 2 dots and one other. I might pass and save my money for a nice gem to go in one of sallys lotus rings.

I''ve had a ball working with Sally and I love her sense of humour.

She is currently sourcing a yellow stone for a RHR project for me so I''m glad I get to continue working with her on something else!

katebar, do you have any new projects coming up with HOW? Do share

Well.......
I'm off to Italy next week but when I come back I am going to get Sally to source some cabachons stones to make our versions of the Tiffany Paloma Sugar Stacks. Very excited

Awesome LG! I''m really into thicker bands atm, can''t wait to see your RL shots!

Can I pls have the etsy girls'' opinion on something?
I am having the lovely Julia Kay Taylor make me a ring (thread currently in CS), but at the same time I thought I would have her make me a sterling key pendant after seeing one in her completed listings.
This is going to be Fi''s b''day gift for me

My question is, which design do folks like better -
this one

key option 1 jkt.jpg

Or this one, which is based on a fleur de lis design..
(please note, mine will be solid sterling, no diamonds )..Please try to envision it plain for this comparison, as they don't do a non-diamond version, sorry..

Just incase anyone is concerned about this type of thing, I realize these are Tiff's pieces, and Julia will be doing an "inspired by" for me (but in any case, I doubt T&Co has intellectual property over a key design, lol..)

So,
what do folks reckon? More simple like the first, or a lil more feminine like the second?
For reference, I will just be wearing it on a simple 18" sterling chain - not necessarily for every day wear, but I'd like to be able to team it with jeans, tee and a cardigan, yanno? I might consider layering it with some other pieces, which I think would look cool..

key pendant option 2 jkt.jpg

I think I like the 2nd one better AJ. It looks more victorian/vintage, and glamorous.

I agree, the 2nd one. I like the 1st, but the top of it reminds me of brass knuckles!

Thankyou MTG and packrat for your thoughts - lol brass knuckles, I never noticed that before!
Remember these will be tiny, like 2inches..and its not the diamonds that are throwing you guys off?
I may be leaning toward the second one too, as I've wanted an FDL in jewellery for awhile. I just don't want it to be too glamorous to wear casually, kwim? I guess it won't be in plain silver, right?

For a lil real life perspective, here is the one that Julia had made for a past client:

Jkayt key pendant1.jpg

I do like the first key..but I think the second has a little flair w/the fdl, even picturing it w/out diamonds, I think the fdl gives it an extra punch and you could wear it w/jeans no problem!

I''m really liking #2 also!

Lori

#2 for me AJ. *Shakes fist* You enabler you!

Thankyou guys for the votes! I will pass this onto Julia, and post the sketch once its done..

kate *shakes fist back*, what are you planning woman...?

Thanks Lori and AJ, Sally''s team is really good and she''s a great at conveying ideas.

AJ I like both keys, but I prefer the second one over the first.

Wolftress, Your ring is gorgeous!!! You should post it in SMTR if you haven't aready. Love that stone! What type of setting did you have it in previously? Do you have photos on here?

I was going to have Sally make a pendant similar to your ring setting for my little .28 OEC, but I came up with a new idea and we will be working out the details over the next few weeks. The OEC should be arriving there shortly, if it hasn't already.

Thanks for everyone for keeping this thread going!! I'm so glad I found Sally through here, and I am really excited about the project I've started with her!!!
