New stones - Tourm cab + red-pink spinel

Wow!! These are both so beautiful, and in such different ways! The color and cut of that spinel are spectacular. I''d have a hard time choosing a setting that would show off the beautiful deep cutting. For the tourmaline, I think Jim Meyer could come up with a gorgeous pendant for you (but then again, I think Jim could probably walk on water)!

I am really drawn to the Spinel. The daylight (sunlight) shots are just gorgeous. You''ve GOT to set that one!

Funnily enough I liked the cab but the more pictures you put up the more I liked it. I reckon your piccies are better than Barry''s and I''m not sure I would have even noticed it from his photo. I really like the size and shape of it and it''ll give you great opportunities for a really unusual design.

Thanks klewis - when the time comes, I would love to see what designs they can come up with.
Please make sure to let us know how your project is coming - as you can tell, I''m looking forward to that one.

Hey Celine - thanks for the comments! Yes, the cut on the spinel (and the nature of it) really does make it a firey one when in the sun. I like it too, cheers

Hi there uppy! You have changed your SN - cool

Hrmm..what do you think about like a 22kt YG colette style bezel for the spinel - I think that would be nice..?

I agree that Jim (or also CM), would do great with the cab - however, I''m not sure if this one warrants a JM!
I have to say, they were both pretty bargain stones...

On the other hand...JM and my new OEC.....

I have to confess that I have not a clue about that look. Could you post an example pic for us?

Hey uppy - basically I mean just one of the bezels like JM specializes in - hugging around the girdle, allowing the crown and pavillion of the stone to fully show and shine

Soo..I guess my JM would be a decent example then! But I would want all 22k YG, perhaps a hammered finish..

Then oh, yeah! I think that would be perfect for showing off the entire stone. Sometimes I feel badly for mounting stones. It takes away the pleasure of enjoying the in all of their 3D beauty!

WOW those are both very very nice, but different as night and day. LOL Hope the spinel checks out! I think it would be stunning in a JM being able to see the depth of it would be very cool. TFS!!
