Now I really did it :((

Hi NIRDI’s!

Holy cow, I’m far behind.

@missy how is Oliver doing? I hated to hear he had to go see your sister. Speaking of your family, I loved all your family photos. What a fun get-together. Yes, if my SIL stays here for about a month it might get challenging, but our house can handle the three of us and we are able to get away from each other. She stayed here that long before. She’d be good help getting ready for Christmas. Glad you are putting more miles on your bike. Where are you at on mileage now? Beautiful pictures from your outings. I am relieved to hear Greg’s MRI results showed a cyst, not that it’s fun, but that it’s nothing to be concerned about. And yay that Oliver is doing better. And wow your nieces have grown, they are wonderful young ladies. I hope your procedure went well today. Sending healing dust to your dad.

@Austina we cooled off to the low 60’s today after an intense rain. I’ll send some your way. LOL to my bruise coming from Colin and I wrestling over the bill. I’ll be FAR more aware of his trickery the next time. Glad you enjoyed the cookies. People we run in to at the store that we haven’t seen for awhile will even ask me “do you still make those cookie?” Of course, they all have their favorites. I appreciate hearing you enjoy the videos. I’ll post my latest one later on FB. I even loaded it on TikTok. I was proud to say I didn’t even have a TikTok account but now I guess it’s part of my job. I didn’t know you had to pay extra for the emergency exit seats. Marty always tries to get them.

@canuk-gal I am with you I’d rather to overdressed than get cold. You can always take layers off. Of course, I am generally cold. Good idea to keep up avoiding cooking. Yesterday, I grilled myself three 1/3 pound hamburgers (Marty ate his three at once) and I just heat up the leftovers in the oven. it works great. Your Snoopy pillow sounds great, you know I’d like it. It’s funny on the brisket, I hadn’t tried it until a few years ago when we stopped at a BBQ place Marty heard was good. I’m hooked now. My SIL left Saturday morning. She headed to Denver for a week, then is on her way to San Diego. We are going back and forth between 60’s and 80’s (F) here and still getting rain. I dread the soon-to-be-here snow if we continue to get this much moisture. Wyoming is still green. Wow!

@MamaBee your new place is looking fabulous. Such fun to decorate and make it your own. It would be fabulous for all of us to meet at once and at the same time. I agree on putting blackout shades or curtains in the bedroom. We have a blackout shade and curtain in our bedroom and I’ve never slept so good in my life. Well, except for my recent case of waking up and not being able to fall asleep again. I just noticed your quote at the bottom, I used to say that ALL the time. When I was in college, I had this little book of quotes and I used to whip it out and use it all the time. I still have that book somewhere.

@springerspaniel congratulations on your 20th anniversary.

As I mentioned above, my SIL was leaving Saturday morning so I spent some time with her Friday. We went out to eat and went shopping again. I baked biscuits for breakfast for all of us on Saturday and Marty made us bacon and eggs. She headed out at about 11 a.m. I spent most of Saturday and part of Sunday getting my monthly article write and sent off to the local newspaper and got the September newsletter done for the astronomy club. I did some work on my latest video and my usual laundry and lifting. It was a busy weekend.

This morning I ran out and paid the bill for the door they installed in June. I kept watching for their bill that never showed up, they left me a message on Friday to please pay. I asked for a print out of the bill when I paid this morning, they sent two bills to me at their address, how the heck did they not figure that out? I just politely said, I wondered where my bill was. While I was out I picked up groceries and ran my car through a car wash.

Marty got a picture of the comet that’s in the morning sky. He had no idea the tail was so long so it doesn’t all show up in his picture.

Take care.

Good morning girls! Happy terrific Tuesday!

@marcy so far knock wood Sir Oliver is doing OK. Second time this month he gave us a scare and I am never content not to know why because then there's that chance it can recur. Debbie thinks it was GI upset but not sure...so just hopeful it doesn't happen again. TY for asking and for your well wishes. It does sound as if you can handle a long visit from your SIL and since you get along so well it will be fun. What a great picture of the comet. Wow. Our friend A is going to be speaking with our niece since she is going into marine biology as that is one of his areas and in fact he is a professor at Clemson and will be a great resource for her. TY for all your good wishes...much appreciated. Big hugs and hope you are feeling good and feeling well and safe travels to your SIL

@canuk-gal hahaha Sir Tommy just loves TV...last night he was enjoying our house hunter show lol

Screen Shot 2023-08-29 at 6.53.11 AM.png

He is a beach kitty so haha I can understand his fascination with the water

Hope you are having a good start to the week

@bling_dream19 happy last week in August

@Slickk hope you are enjoying a good last week of freedom and that the upcoming school year goes well for you

Hey everyone else. We went cycling yesterday after my test and it was a very very marvelous Monday. Hope you all enjoy a wonderful last week in August. Be well. XOXO

HI:

NIRDI shout out!!!!!!!!!!

Another hot day today--rode early. A little wind which is good to quell the heat. Good day for sailing! I've made a friend who walks the route I ride--she invited me to sit down one day when I was stopped to take in the view. We now chat when we see each other on the path... and she is really funny and a nice person! She has a stunning Rolex that I try not to stare at!!! LOL

Where has August gone--I'm feeling sad about that. I dread cold temps. Anyway.

cheers--Sharon

Hello lovelies

I don’t where the time has gone. We actually had 2 minutes of rain on Sunday, but oy, the wind was fierce, and Colin and I nearly became human kites while we were trying to put the pool cover on. In the end we had to give up and just weight it down until the wind dropped and we could reel it back up, and cover it.

Glad to hear Oliver is OK, and  to Tommy watching TV @missy. Our cat used to chase any balls he saw on TV, there used to be a snooker programme on, and he’d be trying to catch the ball as it rolled towards the pocket. I hope the test went well yesterday and you get good news on the results.

Wow, you’re nearly catching us up temperature wise @canuk-gal. We’re sub 100 today and it felt lovely.

I can’t even think about snow at this time of year @marcy, I can’t believe it could be on the horizon for you soon  Wow that photo of the comet is spectacular. You just couldn’t make this stuff up could you? How didn’t the realise they‘d sent the bill to themselves:doh:?

We’ve been spending a lot of time in the pool now it’s ‘cooler’, and this morning we went out shopping. Unfortunately, the one thing I really wanted, a swede (a rutabaga) they didn’t have, but we did find a spice shop, so I was able to get some of the things I’ve been looking for, garam masala, gram flour, mango chutney (for Colin), and some other Indian food stuffs.

Off for eye tests tomorrow, no doubt we’ll need new lenses.

:wavey:

Hi NIRDI’s!

Tomorrow night is the closest supermoon of the year. It won’t look bigger necessarily, but it’ll be about 15% brighter than normal. The golden light nearby it will be Saturn.

@missy that is good Oliver is doing well, but those mystery flare ups are always a concern for sweet fur babies and people. As you well know. Great pictures and Tommy watching TV is so cute. Yes, I can handle my SIL staying with us that long. She’s good help for errands, dishes and doing stuff. That’s nice your friend has an in at Clemson. Your niece will have fun picking out where she wants to go to school. It’s a big decision.

@canuk-gal isn’t it kind of cool how we can make friends in unusual places? Marty always marvels at my striding up conversations with people in random places. How cool that lady has a nice Rolex. When Marty was working in Hong Kong, people were giving him lists of things to buy for them - you know copy things - like watches, designer hand bags, etc. He had quite the list for Rolex copy watches, they were all calling them Rolax. The one he got for his boss turned his wrist green. He got me a fake Dolce-Gabbana purse and that sucker stunk to high heaven, they used some nasty dye on it. Strange memories of his trips to Hong Kong. And yes, it’s almost September. Aak.

@Austina I hate to hear you were out in the wind when it was blowing so bad. After it knocked me over, I try to avoid staying out of high winds which is practically impossible where I live. Glad neither of you got hurt. That is my question as well, the bill had to be delivered to them. My thought was we had them replace a window at our old house so maybe they sent the bill there. But nope, they had their address on it. Oh well, it’s paid for now and I’m happy with the door. Marty doesn’t have storm door installation as a skill on his resume. Marty would like the Indian food and spices you picked up.

I met a friend for lunch today but still worked 9 hours. I picked up my 70 constellation books at Office Depot on the way home. This was kind of funny, They were in one big box and a small box, Some guy offered to carry them to my car for me and I accepted. He was grunting and groaning carrying them. When I got home, I thought I’ll take in the small box and have Marty get the large box out when he gets home from the gym. The small box, was nothing, so I went back for the big box and it wasn’t that heavy for me either. See, that lifting continues to pay off. I am almost back to where I was on deadlifting.

Since I worked until after 6, I had Marty pick up supper for us on the way home. I like days when there are no dishes. I’m following @canuk-gal cooking boycott. At least for a day.

Take care.
Marcy

GM girls! Happy wonderful Wednesday!

@marcy ooh super moon! I hope I can see it tonight! TY for letting us know. Yes you and your SIL will have another wonderful visit and it's great how well you get along. Greg's middle brother is visiting in October and we are looking forward to it. Nice that gentleman helped carry your boxes to your car. I love that chivalry is not dead. Glad you enjoyed meeting your friend for lunch

@Austina I am glad it is getting cooler by you and that you are still enjoying the pool. Sorry you couldn't find a rutabaga but glad you found other things you wanted. TY for Oliver's well wishes. And for the good wishes about my test. I got the results last night and seeing my gyn next tuesday about it. They make those reports impossible to understand but if I am interpreting it correctly things have remained stable but still I have a mysterious growth in the periphery that the radiologist keeps recommend I do an MRI with and without contrast for and well... I do not want to do contrast due to my inability to get rid of it. But we shall see what the gyn recommends. Glad you did not get knocked over with the wind. It can get pretty windy here too. Good luck with your eye exams tomorrow.

@canuk-gal nice you got to ride. Sweet. And same here meeting people while cycling who have become friends. It's so funny but we do have numerous friends we have met while cycling that we actually do make plans with and see often. It's very nice. Speaking of nice ohh beautiful rolex I am sure. It's always nice to drool over other people's beautiful bling. And yes August is almost over and how did that happen so fast?

@Slickk hope you are enjoying a wonderful week

@bling_dream19 good morning

@rainwood so looking forward to seeing you. The time has flown by since our last visit. Already making plans so it is an enjoyable visit filled with fun activities and of course ice cream lol

Hey everyone else. Busy day and very busy week as Greg's work has basically exploded with projects. Morning doctor's appointment for me and then we shall see if we can get a ride in or not because there is a chance of rain. And Greg has many conference calls this afternoon. Have a great day and be well XOXO

Hello lovelies

Thanks for the heads-up @marcy, I’ll be looking out tonight to see if I can see the supermoon tonight. I’m enjoying the photos on IG, they’re really spectacular. You’re still working too much, but I’m glad you had time for lunch with a friend.

Sorry the results were not completely clear @missy, hopefully there’s a way to get to the bottom of what’s going on (no pun intended ) Hopefully today’s appt went well and you were able to get out and ride and Greg wasn’t overwhelmed with work.

Colin calls my NRIDI friends ‘virtual friends’ @canuk-gal  We used to have lots of doggie friends when we had Dottie, we’d meet the same people out walking and always got chatting.

Eye tests went well, no changes in prescriptions for both of us, and my eye health is excellent. The optician is pressing Colin to get cataract surgery, but he really doesn’t feel his eyesight is suffering and wants to wait a while.

We then went for hair cuts afterwards, I had a lovely 75 year old lady do mine :D and she did a good job.

Off to the pool now, it’s dullish, but still warm out.

:wavey:

HI:

NIRDI shout out!!!!!!!

Raining but warm. Good day to do the laundry. I am back to work tomorrow--been away for two weeks! I'm sure I'll not remember what to do...always something changing. Remind me again why I just renewed my license for another year? LOL

@missy my DH is mostly retired, but gets calls to do tough projects..and is also busy! Everyone back from vacation and want to get cracking! Hope your appt next week goes well.

@Austina it is easy to chat. Although I am a bit of a loner, I am easy to talk to (my work has helped in that regard). I always ask the fishing people if they've had success--and everyone likes a good wag. I am amazed how many young folk fish!!!! And of course people bond over pets. Good to stop and smell the roses.

@marcy I'll be on the lookout for the moon. My DH wanted to know if he should takeout today--and with restraint I said NO! Mostly because I hate my VISA bill weighing 2 kg. LOL

@Slickk hoping you had a relaxing summer!!!!

@mrs-b hope all is well with you and yours.

cheers--Sharon

Hi NIRDI's!

@missy good luck with the appointment with your gyn next week. I hope you get to see the supermoon tonight. It should be pretty. Darn that Greg's work just got busy. Less time for cycling and ice cream. Hope that settles down. Marty's been having calls with clients in Australia at 9 p.m. Poor guy, he gets up at 4 a.m. to head to his gym.

@Austina I hope you do see the moon tonight. Being in a dark site won't help with that bright moon, but it'll still be pretty to see. Yes, I am working too much. I didn't have a fun day either. Luckily, it's lifting day so I took out my frustrations on the bar. What a relief the eye appointments went well and you got a good hair cut. I don't blame Colin for waiting on cataract surgery.

@canuk-gal darn that pesky Visa bill. Marty just put his work trip on ours, maybe I should sneak a piece of jewelry on there. I hope you see the moon tonight.

I did get to see the almost full moon last night. Then I got up at 4 a.m. to see if I could find a comet in binoculars. Nope. It was too low in the haze near the horizon then. I tried to sleep for another hour and got up again. This time the sky was too bright for the illusive dim object. I did see Orion though, so that's always nice. Betelgeuse - that supernova teaser - is still there. Venus was dazzling bright in the dark morning twilight.

As for work today, I spent my day redoing everything different than what I was told to do last week. That gets so frustrating. I don't care what you want me to do, but be consistent The boss is nice about it, it's just frustrating. I am sure my BP went up. I have some wine open on the counter. I considered finishing. But I didn't.

Take care.
Marcy

We set the alarm so we didn’t forget to go out and look for the Super Blue Moon. Fortunately it was out the back of the house and so lovely in the dark sky. Thanks @marcy for the heads-up.

Good morning lovely ladies and happy Thursday! The week is flying by!!

@canuk-gal sweet you had a lovely two weeks off work...as for retiring I felt it was a great move for me and Greg is considering it but not ready just yet. My only concern is health insurance. If not for that I would tell him to retire now lol. Plus he is almost medicare age and well if he continues working he doesn't have to go on medicare which isn't a great healthcare insurance. And yes we will choose the best secondary insurance we can but I hear nightmare stories about medicare so..anyway he probably will retire soon just not sure when. He has so many interests and hobbies he sure won't be bored lol.

@marcy darn I didn't see the moon but a few of my friends did and here are a couple of photos

supermoonsummer2023.jpg

supermoonaugust2023.jpg

Poor Marty...late calls and early gym makes for being tired. Sorry work was frustrating yesterday. It was raining all morning so we couldn't go cycling but we went shopping lol and also I got to drive as I am still practicing driving around and getting my lay of the land so to speak. My directional sense sucks and I need all the practice I can get

@Austina glad your eye tests went well. One thing perhaps you and Colin are not aware of is my two criteria for removing one's lens...one if it is interfering with your quality of life and it isn't for Colin. However, point two is important as the more dense a cataract is the more difficult it is to remove and the higher chance of complications. I cannot say how dense Colin's cataract is so cannot advise you on that but just wanted to make you aware. It is always easier and simpler to remove it before it gets seriously dense

@Slickk happy Thursday!

@bling_dream19 hope all is going well

So yesterday AM I saw my nephrologist who rocks but he doesn't know much about hypophosphatemia (no one here does) and he will do some research to see if he can help me. It is very very rare disease and he never had a patient with it and with my other conditions he is not confident about how to manage this. He did prescribe a med but who knows when the pharmacy will get it in so we shall see. And it has the potential to affect my calcium which is already a struggle for me so it is a conundrum. And my parathyroid specialist is not licensed here and I really want to touch base with her but am pretty sure she can't see me anymore :( I am going to call her office though just have to try. I would like to hear her thoughts about this. Stupid laws

Anyway today we are cycling because it is a nice day yay. Yesterday rained all morning so we couldn't go cycling. Today I have my zoom with my dear friends later and Greg has only two (lol yesterday he managed to do 4 work calls between our activities) work calls. So it's another busy day but should be a good one. Wishing you all a lovely Thursday. Be well. XOXO

Hello lovelies

Thank you for the information @missy. I think we need to ask at what stage the cataract is before making the decision. Colin wants to wait until the new year as we are away for Christmas, and he doesn’t want anything to interfere with that. I’m sorry you’re dealing with yet another Dr who doesn’t know how to treat you. Hopefully, you’ll be able to speak with the parathyroid specialist, even if she can’t treat you.
Wow, your friend took great photos of the moon.

I feel your frustration @marcy, why don’t they make up their minds already? You showed great restraint in not drowning your sorrows  Did you get any good shots of the moon?

Oh dear, there’s always a downside to a good plan. Sorry the CC bill is weighing more than the food you’ve consumed @canuk-gal. See how work goes, you can always change your mind about continuing working.

Colin went out for a walk first thing with C next door, and then L and I went out for a walk. It was a lovely 70 degs when they went, when we went it felt like the fires of hell. There was no breeze at all and we were stifled.

We went and did the food shopping afterwards and later this afternoon we spent time in the pool. Colin discovered that a gasket in the cover on the chlorine chamber has gone and water was spraying everywhere  Something to try and sort out tomorrow.

How’s is already Friday again?

Hope all the lovely NIRDIs are keep well and happy, take care :wavey:

Hi NIRDI's!

@Austina I hope you got to see the moon. I saw it through clouds. I hope the gasket replacement for the pool isn't a hassle. We had mostly cloudy skies last night but I did see the moon through the clouds.

@missy your friends got great got pictures of the moon. Yay to pracice driving. I hope the new medicine doesn't give you other problems and it helps. Darn those mystery diseases.

My boss was all sugar and spice today. Told me to do both videos she didn't want me to do yesterday. Oh well, I got one done and posted for tomorrow and will finish up the other one in the morning. I only worked 201.25 hours in August. Each month - for 3 months now - it's gone down 2 hours a month. Ha Ha.

I did snap a shot of a lovely sunset last night. I totally need to get out with my camera before the snow flies.

Take care.
Marcy

GM girls! Happy September 1st FriYAY!

Well another action packed day yesterday. And I broke a tooth not doing anything lol. It was at 430PM. Greg was on a CC and we had just gotten home half an hour prior. Well a piece of my molar just crumbled. My Dentist's office was closed for the holiday already and no one was in the office to answer my call. So I called my dentist on her mobile as we are friends and she said she would head to the office now and to meet her there. She is a lifesaver. She fixed it temporarily because I need a crown. Not the type of crown I wanted though lol. Anyway so now I have to schedule two crown appointments when the office reopens next Tuesday. Just what I needed. More appointments in the fall. So many appointments in Sept/Oct/Nov but this is a must and I hope I can get it in a timely fashion (she doesn't schedule her appointments...her staff does). I will be calling Tuesday after my gyn appointment that is. LOL cannot make this stuff up. But so grateful for her meeting us at her office. We didn't get home til 8PM. She is very thorough and detail oriented and takes her time. And we had to reschedule our Zoom thank you to my disobedient teeth LOL

@Austina you are very welcome. Just wanted to fill you in on the details so you can make the best decision under the circumstances. Sorry your weather is still hot. For us, today, it is autumn like...cool, dry, breezy. Crisp air feel. I will have to bundle up while cycling lol. It is very cool right now. No complaints though

@marcy gorgeous sky. :kiss2: LOL you only worked 201.25 hours in August
And dayum girl. We are definitely NOT ready for snow...I know your winter weather starts in Sept though lol. Fingers crossed no snow for at least another month or two
Sugar and spice and everything nice is what I wish for us all

@canuk-gal have a fantastic September 1 and happy FriYAY!

@bling_dream19 happy FriYAY! Happy September!

@Slickk my nieces start school today so am guessing you are starting soon if not today. Wishing you a very good school year

Hello everyone else. Hope all is well. Happy almost unofficial beginning of Autumn/End of summer. Sigh. Hopefully fall will be a wonderful season for us all. XOXO

We went cycling of course yesterday as it was a purrrrrfect cycling day and saw our dear friends and J. Love these women. Unfortunately N's sister P who moved her less than a year ago to be with her sister N misses Memphis and may move back at least for part of the year. We have come to adore these women and we would be so sad if P left to go back to memphis not to mention N being devastated so not sure how this will play out.

And leaving you with the only crown I ever want lolol

crown.jpg

Hello lovelies

Ugh, what a pain @missy, so glad you’ve got such a great dentist who’s been able to do a temporary fix. Nothing worse than having a jagged tooth, your tongue automatically goes to it! I’m with you, I don’t want that kind of crown either, a sparkly one is so much better :D All advice gratefully received @missy.

Our sky was very clear @marcy, so the moon was really visible, we looked out again last night and it had a definite pink tinge to it. You’re working far too much for a retired person, but then you already know that

I hope the new term doesn’t bring any issues for you @Slickk and you have an easy transition back, and eager and willing students.

I hope your first day back after 2 weeks off went well today @canuk-gal.

Sooooo, we’ve had a very frustrating morning trying to sort the chlorinator out. First call was to the pool people, who were particularly unhelpful, told us to order from Amazon or go to Leslies (pool supply people). Colin had already scoured Amazon for the right size rubber O ring, and there’s about 60,000,000 available and trying to gauge the size is difficult because the original one is distorted. We then went down to Leslies (fortunately our one horse town has one), but they didn’t have the right size, although the guy was very helpful and opened up a couple of packets to try. He suggested trying Home Depot, so we went there, bought a pack, sat in the car to try, but no, not the right size. I carefully packaged it back, took it back, got a refund, and bought another pack, again, not the right size.

We came home, rang the manufacturer, who said they’d send one out as it has a 2 year warranty. Rang the pool people again to say we haven’t been able to source one, she said she’d try. We can’t run the pool filter without the chlorinator, and that’s erupting like Vesuvius spraying water everywhere, so we’ve had to leave it off. We can’t leave it off for too long as it’ll cause problems with the water going green. We rang the pool people again, and she said she’s going to get someone out here tomorrow, to change the chlorinator. So we wasted a whole morning fiddling and faffing about.

It’s still HOT, I’m really looking forward to some cooler weather, please send some over

:wavey:

HI:

NIRDI shout out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WOW we just ran into old friends--they were riding in our hood and we were out walking!!! SO wonderful!!!! The day was much warmer than predicted so I rode myself today as DH worked. I broke my promise not to get take out LOL but honestly the Italian place I frequent has really gorgeous homemade food and it is rather inexpensive. Happy to unload my heavy VISA bill. (I'm sure another one will be here soon enough)

@missy I am sorry about your tooth. Total bummer--but you were fortunate your dentist was available!!!! I have nightmares about breaking my teeth (or rather them breaking on their own)--I have one molar I think about a lot.

@marcy I might have to unfriend you if you mention the S word again!!!! There were leaves falling on my head while I was cycling today--I shouted to them to STOP! I know what's coming but I don't have to be happy about it.

@Austina hope your pool doesn't turn green! Speaking of green--my flower pots are really not!

cheers--Sharon

Good morning girls! Happy Caturday Saturday!

@Austina ugh I am sorry about the chlorinator and hope you can find the one you need ASAP and I am sending over bucketloads of cooling vibes! We are due for super hot weather starting tomorrow I think and going into midweek. Summer is still here for sure

@canuk-gal thanks. Yeah not happy if my teeth all start crumbling which is my worry now lol. My DDS and my periodontist and hygienists all say what great care I take of my teeth and gums but man does genetics wreak havoc on everything . Super grateful my girlfriend was not away and that she is so nice and wouldn't let me suffer with this for the weekend and holiday. I mean within the time it took to call her she said meet me at the office and voila. Relief even though it is temporary. Hope your molar holds! Glad you ran into old friends. Always a happy occurrence

LOL I am with Sharon @marcy noooooooo to snooooooow

@Slickk happy weekend!

@bling_dream19 happy Caturday Saturday!

Hey everyone else. What a spectacular weather day yesterday..low 70s, dry, cool, breezy. Purrrrrrfect. Today looks to be another wonderful cycling day and looking forward to it. Hope you all have a super Caturday Saturday. Love and hugs. Enjoy and be well

Soooo yummmmmmmmmmy

Hi all!!
Gosh @missy that is awful that the tooth just crumbled. You know I feel you on the inherited dental problems. I hope you get the cap soon and let there be no more issues.
I started work this week! How quickly the summer flew by. Only, maybe, one more first day for @Slickk !!
I wanted to share, since I can’t really put it out ‘there,’ my new purchase.
I bought this CvB Abby (platinum) with a 2.55/E/VVS lab OEC (CvB sourced) from HS4S last night! It should come this week. Praying shipping goes well!
Love to all the NIRDIs and have a fab weekend!! :wavey:
Here she is! I mean…look at her!

And here’s my Bear (in the convertible), who I miss so much while I’m at school. :cry2:

Spectacular!!!♥️♥️♥️

Wear in good health and blingy joy!
Love you Bear!

Aww @missy thank you!! ❤️ I was giddy all evening after sending the funds. Cannot wait!! Have a beautiful day!! It’s amazing out!!

Hi NIRDI's!

@missy I sure hated to hear you broke a tooth, it's nice you have a dentist friend that got you a temporary crown. Isn't that the way it goes? That tooth I broke past my gum a few years ago happened late Friday. How nice to catch up with some good friends. I hope the only lady moves back here. I love all your pictures. Lovely scenery, pretty crown, handsome husband, adorable nieces, furbabies and mmm ice cream. Yes, I can smell that four letter white s word coming our way.

@Austina the moon has been pretty. I am glad you got to see it a few times. I caught it Thursday night just on the horizon and looking very orange. What a pain getting the right part for your pool. It's good to know it's under warranty and hopefully the pool people take are of it for you. I'll send you chilly weather soon.

@canuk-gal how nice you ran in to some old friends too. It's good for the soul to catch up with friends. Italian sounds good, it was work getting take out. Yay unloading your VISA bill, that always feels good. If you unfriend me, you'll never know when I win the lotto. I keep trying and I can't stop the inevitable first snow storm. I wonder which one of us will see it first? It's funny you mentioned falling leaves, I was just wondering if the leaves have started to turn in the mountains around here

@Slickk your new sparkler is gorgeous. It's a beautiful diamond. Congratulations.

I quit work yesterday by 3 p,m. But I did start at 7 a.m. I was going to go to the park and get some pictures, but it was pretty windy and that doesn't work well on macros of flowers. I watched TV instead.

Marty is firmly planted on the couch today, so not much going on. I only worked 45 minutes today. Most of it was answering a question for a reader about Saturn and Jupiter.

Take care.
Marcy

@marcy Just realized I forgot to answer your cycling question from the other day and we just got back from cycling so I checked the total miles so far (starting from April first 2023 I believe)...drumroll please....

cyclingsofarseptember2,2023.jpeg

Not bad. 5,604 miles and five months into our cycling season so far... weather depending we can hit our goal. We shall see because Sept/Oct/Nov are chock full of things including my cataract surgery and that will put me out of commission for a while

Glad you only worked 45 minutes today! LOL it's Caturday Saturday after all and you know what the cats say about the weekend..."mommy, what's a weekend"
TY for your kind comments about my family. Glad Marty is relaxing and hope the rest of your weekend is wonderful!
I will be back tomorrow with more photos of our Saturday but just wanted to answer your question from the other day...XOXO

@missy that is a lot of miles so far. Yay, Missy and Greg! LOL to “what’s a weekend?”

HI:

NIRDI shout out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@Slickk what a stunner of a ring!!! Wear it in health!!
@marcy LOL it is good to have a couch day!!
@missy you've put lots of miles on! You guys had such a mild winter last year--may you cycle long this year as well!

I don't think it was very smart of me to go to Home Depot on a long weekend Saturday, it was BUSY! Rode this AM, another lovely warm sunny day. Paths were very busy.

cheers--Sharon

@canuk-gal it is nice to have a down day. Hardware stores are nuts on the weekend. I like them though, they have good diamond lights.

You are welcome @Slickk

Good morning lovely ladies and happy fun day Sunday of Labor Day weekend!
Hope you are all enjoying beautiful weather and a wonderful weekend

@marcy hate to tempt you with more of our ice cream shots but it is so delicious I must share...one day maybe in person..it is worth the trip I promise lol

Enjoy a super Sunday and have fun and be well. XOXO

Congratulations, @Slickk! That's a stunning ring!

@Austina - great to hear you're still enjoying the pool, regardless of cloudy weather and busted chlorinators! Did the pool guy come? I really hope so.

@missy - I'm so sorry about your tooth - what a pain! Well done on your cycling progress!

@canuk-gal - well done on all the rides! I hope this lovely time of year extends for you as long as possible! Tim lives at Home Depot, and isn't fond of the long weekend crowds, either.

@marcy - I was glad to read you'd finally had a day where you only did 45 minutes work!

Friday was our anniversary and Tim and I went out to a dim sum brunch. Had to have some blood tests in the afternoon...which gave some worrying results. Dr called me and told me to go to Urgent Care, which I did on Sunday morning - then they shunted me to the local ER. Gave bloods, had scans, referred to a nephrologist and discharged. Apparently I have something wrong - quite wrong - with my kidneys. <sigh> I am so worn out by all of this. Steroids, man - that stuff'll kill you.

Crohn's is flaring and continues to be bad, and I have a friend arriving from Australia this evening. I really don't know how I'm going to juggle all of this, when all I want to do is curl up in bed and sleep.

Feeling very flat, but still enjoyed our anniversary (well, the morning before the hospital part, anyway) - and here's a photo of the two of us.
Happy Labor Day weekend to you all. <3

Many thanks @mrs-b I am a bit smitten by that faceting, like a flower. Hopefully that translates to irl!
But most importantly, I wanted you to know that I will be thinking of you and sending all my warm wishes to you ❤️ Please be well.

The ring has shipped. Trying to stay busy so I don’t worry about it being in the postal system especially after that other thread

Love your pictures as always @missy
