Happy Sunday Lovelies

Wow @Slickk your new ring is absolutely beautiful, wear it in blingy good health. :lol:Bear has a great smile, he's a real ham for the camera.

Oh no @mrs-b, I'm so sorry to hear you been given such worrying news. Everything crossed for the best possible outcome. Belated happy anniversary, so glad you and Tim got to enjoy a lovely meal out, and what great photo of you two lovebirds.

I'm glad to hear you only worked 45 mins, and I hope the rest of the weekend you've been able to relax and enjoy it @marcy. I've been looking at the moon every night, and it's been so pretty. I've also been enjoying fantastic photos by NASA on FB.

Thanks as always for the lovely photos @missy, and I'm so glad you had a spectacular day's riding. Wow, you've really racked up the miles this year, no mean feat with all the appts you've had.

You should see the state of our grass @canuk-gal, it's brown and crispy, we're keeping everything crossed it comes back to life after all the money we spent having it laid. My roses by the pool and at the front side of the house are doing pretty well considering the brutal weather, we water them twice a week, and that seems to be just enough to keep them from getting fried.

Soooooo, the pool saga, we waited and waited yesterday. Then Colin said he thought the wholesaler was probably closed, so the guy wouldn't come. He contacted one of the owners of the pool company to find out what was going on, and yep, no replacement chlorinator, and the guy wasn't coming. He offered to come to see if he could help, but by then, we'd been to Home Depot again and Tractor Supply Company and bought some other bits and pieces, and when we got home, 2 of the packages of O rings had arrived. One was almost the right size, so I suggested we try that first before bunging lots of sealant on the lid. It was ok for a couple of minutes, then started leaking. I remembered we had some plumbers tape, so we took the lid apart again, I wrapped the glass viewing screen edge in plumbers tape, then the large screw section that when over that, we put it back, switched the pump back on and kept our fingers crossed. It worked!!!

After we'd done that, our neighbour rang and invited us over for a BBQ. That was a nice surprised, so we had a lovely evening with them.

Got up at 7am and got out to water the garden, I do the back and Colin does the front. We had a FT call with our friends, and are going in the pool later when it's a bit cooler.

Hope all the lovely NRIDIs are having a great weekend :wavey:

HI:

NIRDI shout out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@mrs-b sorry about the kidney stuff--healing vibes across the miles ! Happy Anniversary--our is on Thursday!
@marcy no lie there--the lights in HD are fabu for diamond gazing!!!
@Austina you are very handy! Glad your hack worked!!!! Nice to have an invite out!!! I did some caulking today and man that stuff doesn't come of your hands! Had to use an SOS pad!!!
@missy we have having a cool wave....LOL Overcast today and smoky.
@Slickk Bear is such a dolly! Enjoying the convertible LOL

I rode alone again today--seemed quite Fall today. Paths were quiet compared to yesterday when the city was on our doorstep! Lovely events for the long weekend really nice to see people out and about. We enjoyed a nice meal out last night but I am cooking today and tomorrow. I found some "past fresh date" corn on the cob in my fridge--gross!!!!

cheers--Sharon

Hi NIRDI's!

@missy I don't need help being tempted by ice crean. I plan on having some in a few moments. Love all of your pictures. those birds on the beach (not quite "ducks in a row - but similar" look well fed. Do they get in the kitty food?

@mrs-b love the picture of you and Tim. I am sorry to hear about the new diagnosis and test results. I swear fixing one thing, seems to lead to at least two more problems. That is why I have got to the point I am not taking medicine or getting a shot unless it's certain I am going to die from not taking it. I am allergic to more things than I'm not. Keeping you in my thoughts. The NIRDI's could be a thread of misfit medical mysteries - MMM. I think I wished you happy anniversary before, but double happy anniversary wishes coming your way.

@Slickk hi cute bear. Your DD has a fabulous view and she got a great shot of the supermoon.

@Austina I am so glad you've been enjoying the moon, soon you'll have to get up in the morning to see it. I'm looking forward to it visiting Venus on the mornings of September 10-12. My relaxing weekend didn't pan out like normal. See more below. That's great you guys were able to rig the leak on the pool to get it to stop leaking. You know that always happens when it's a long weekend. My sister that is a farmer's wife has a lot of fun going on. They are way behind on drilling and harvest due to the excessive amount of rain we've had. They are working before dawn until almost 11 or so at night. Their house (in the country) was probably built in the 40's and on a septic tank and well. A pump in between everything gave out and the repairman can't even come out for over 2 weeks and is waiting on the part anyway. She's betting it'll be a month. Her in-laws had a modular house brought in and put on a foundation when my sister and their son got married in 1975. Her in-laws are gone so my they are using the dishwasher, washing machine, shower and restroom in the other house. I told her I'd just move over there until their place gets fixed.

@canuk-gal those lights in hardware stores are only one of three reasons I'll go with Marty. I will also go to get flowers for my flower buckets and I'll go see if they have any new Snoopy Christmas decorations every year. Occasionally, we got look for new appliances or things for the house but only if I have to go. It's probably how Marty feels following me around a jewelry store. I hope the corn on the cob was okay. I usually shuck it and wrap each one in foil (we grill them) when I get them home. They seem to keep well that way.

Marty has been sick (gastrointestinal) since earlier in the week. He's traveling for work on Tuesday, so I played Dr. Google today and looked up what his symptoms might be. I'm good. I would be a pair of earrings on that darn unpasteurized milk he's been downing like I would a bag of M&M's made him sick. It's over 10 days old today. I printed that info out for him and he promptly ignored it. He finally said he might go see a doctor tomorrow if he's not better. I countered with tomorrow is a holiday and if they give you medicine just one day of taking it won't help much for travel. So off to the doc in a box we went. He has all signs of a bacterial infection. They are running tests and called in a prescription for him. I'll go pick it up when it's ready. And I'm throwing that darn milk out. I did comment there is a reason they pasteurize milk. So since Marty was napping on the couch most of the time, I goofed off on my iPad, did laundry and lifted. Nothing else.

Take care.
Marcy

I finished the bottle of wine we had open just now, I didn't want it to go bad. Ha Ha. Now I'm off to get ice cream.

GM girls. Happy marvelous (Labor Day) Monday

@marcy lol yes it looks like they did hahaha
Aww poor Marty...I hope he feels better soon. GI distress is no fun. Glad you convinced him to see the dr and hope the antibiotics help fast

@Slickk what a gorgeous view your DD has :kiss2:

@canuk-gal a cool wave would be very nice right now :)
Though without the smoky conditions. I hope that clears very soon
Hope you enjoy another day of cycling and have fun and stay safe

@Austina how ingenious of you both and yay may the chlorinator continue working! Nice job!
Glad you enjoyed a lovely BBQ with your neighbors. A purrrrfect Labor Day weekend

Hey everyone else. Hope all is well. Cycling today and it is another very hot day...90s F for today, tomorrow and Wednesday at least. Official heat wave in September and summer's last hurrah. We had a great cycling day yesterday and looking forward to our cycling today. Have fun whatever you do and be safe and well. XOXO

Hi NIRDI’s!

@missy great shot of the wave crashing on the shore. I love it. Yay for a warm day and another day of cycling. What flavor of ice cream did you get today? I just had one of those Dove ice cream bites. I am down to one and I can’t find them anymore. Guess I’ll have to eat more of the regular ice cream. Darn.

Marty still isn’t feeling too well. No calls on test results for him yet either. He had to be at the airport in Denver at 10 a.m. in the morning. What a time to travel for work.

Speaking of work, yes I worked eight hours today, but a lot of it was video planning and discussion. Now we are watching old Star Trek movies.

Take care.
Marcy

Good morning girls! Happy terrific Tuesday!

@marcy darn I am sorry Marty isn't feeling well still. If he wakes feeling poorly perhaps he should consider canceling the trip? I know it's not a good time to do that but health comes first. Hoping he wakes feeling all better and that his test results are good. This was a very busy work weekend for Greg and he basically worked every day of the holiday weekend including Monday. Something is in the water I think... And it is not surprising you worked as well on the holiday lol. Our heat wave continues...stay cool and comfortable.

@bling_dream19 happy Tuesday..hope your family is well and all is going smoothly

@Slickk good luck at school this week. September sure came fast

@canuk-gal our heat wave has me wanting to move to Canada lol. Hope you are having comfortable weather

@marcy I had hazelnut coffee with vanilla...sooooo good. Greg had blueberry pancakes. And while we were enjoying it one of our cycling friends joined us and we discussed politics. It was fascinating to get his point of view as he is 21 and I always find it super interesting to hear young smart people's point of view.

Screen Shot 2023-09-05 at 5.37.50 AM.png

There was a HUGE chunk of hazelnut and omg it was so delish. I didn't realize how much I loved hazelnut

Busy week and the heat wave is continuing all week. Seeing my gyn this morning and then despite the heat hoping to get some cycling in but we shall see.

All in all a beautiful albeit hot day

Screen Shot 2023-09-05 at 5.38.12 AM.png

Have a terrific Tuesday all.
Stay cool. Be well. XOXO

Hi NIRDI's!

@missy your ice cream selections sound delicious. I hope your appointment went well. Boo to a busy week with lots of appointments and Greg working all weekend. Thanks for thinking of Marty.

Poor Marty woke up at 1:30 a.m. with terrible lower back pain. I got up to see if he was okay. I asked him if he wanted to go to the hospital but he said no. I tried to go back to sleep but if I slept at all, it's wasn't a deep, peaceful sleep. He ventured over to one of our guest bedrooms - the one now called "Chris's bedroom" because my SIL stays in there when she is here.

I got up again about 5:30. I made sure Marty took his last of 3 antibiotic pills before he headed to the airport. I asked if he could delay his work trip, but 3 other guys are going and they need him there so off he went. Brave guy even at breakfast before boarding the plane. He arrived safely, got his luggage right away but said he didn't feel better or worse. If he got test results back, I haven't heard from him. I hate to throw out that milk in case they want to test it. If he has something, I totally intend to notify that place so other people don't get sick. Maybe I'll call them anyway.

I was working before 7 a.m. so I was done with work by 3. Woo hoo. I feel like it's midnight and just ordered myself a cheeseburger and fries. I looked at the clock and it was only 4:30. Oops. Long day.

Take care.
Marcy

GM girls and happy wonderful Wednesday! Day 3 (?) of our heat wave!

@marcy thank you and yes. Ice cream is my passion hahaha. I am so sorry Marty is still not feeling well and keeping good thoughts for him. May his trip go smoothly and may he start feeling better very soon and may his medical results come back A OK. Good for you being productive and done with work at 3PM. Sweet. Now that it's getting darker earlier it does feel later earlier. I prefer the longer days of July and August. Oh well. Summer is right around the corner (with the speed at which the seasons are flying it will be back soon lol). May we all have a mild winter

Hello @Slickk @bling_dream19 @canuk-gal @mrs-b @MamaBee @springerspaniel @rainwood @Austina and everyone else. Tuesday went well. My gyn is pleased with my plan yay and two more appointments this week and we are done. Friday so we have a little breather though I need to do lab work maybe tomorrow. We shall see

Cycling was fun but it was a very hot day and even with the east wind blowing I feel like I sweated off a few lbs lol. Today is another hot day but hopefully a good cycling day. Have not yet checked the weather and Greg is still sleeping so want him to sleep as long as he can. That's all from me. Have a wonderful Wednesday lovely ladies. XOXO

Hello lovelies

Just a quickie, the dreaded vertigo is back, so I’m just laying down until it passes.

Big love to you all :wavey:

Hi NIRDI's!

@Austina oh no - I hope you feel better soon.

@missy yay to your gyn being pleased with your plan. And only two more appointments this week. Be sure and study for your lab tests. Yay for more cycling. Add up those miles.

I had a disorienting day. Three punk kids "hopefully" randomly selected our house to use as a stopping place for the eggs they threw at it. I had just shut the TV off at about and heard a bunch of stuff hit the deck. I got up and turned the light on and didn't see anything other than three kids running down the greenway. I was worried they were in the yard, so I backed up the security camera feed and saw they were tossing something. I didn't really see anything. Then I open FB and see someone a few blocks down had just been egged. So I looked at my security feed again and yep - they threw about 9 eggs at our deck. What a stinking mess. The patio was easy to clean up since it's cement and I scrapped the egg off down there. But the deck is wood and it is like glue on everything. I was able to use wipes on the vinyl around the picture window. The siding wouldn't clean off. Of course, Marty would be gone now. It really scared the crap out of me when I heart the stuff hit. I submitted a report and the security camera footage to the police as vandalism but I know that wouldn't be able to identify them from the camera. Marty said I should post the video on our community FB page bit since he's out of town, I decided not to in case they are neighborhood kids. I don't want three teens angry at me. I heard every stinking noise last night too. Grr. I hope when Marty gets home he can power wash that crap off the deck and house. Flies sure like it.

Our cleaning lady came today and she lives near where Marty bought that milk. I guess her husband had the same thing happen from it as well as people at work and park visitors (she manages the visitor center of a state park 30 miles west of town). I threw the remaining milk out and sure hope Marty doesn't decide to try it from somewhere else. After she left, I ran a few errands and tried to scrub more of the egg mess off the deck. Scrubbing is futile.

Take care.
Marcy

HI:

@marcy what a lousy/traumatizing experience. Sorry. Notwithstanding the waste of food. Mostly I don't get things these days.

kind regards--Sharon

Hello lovelies

Just a quickie, the dreaded vertigo is back, so I’m just laying down until it passes.

Big love to you all :wavey:

Take it easy, friend.

@canuk-gal the price of eggs these days is so high, you'd think someone wouldn't waste them. It sure upsets me. If I'd done something like that as a kid, my parents would have marched me over to their house, made me apologize and I'd be cleaning every bit of it up. I'm not a fan of the lack of civility and respect going on today.

I am concerned about the way you feel. Waste of food, yes, but this experience is not welcomed. My hands open to you--across the miles.

@canuk-gal thank you. I am okay, Just irritated. I’m better than I was this morning.

That would be great @canuk-gal - dinner on the deck.

Wow ditto. I am so sorry @marcy :(
What low lives. I hope they are caught and prosecuted. That is so NOT ok. I wonder where the heck there parents are and how they are raising them to be vandalizing others properties. UNACCEPTABLE.

Ugh, I hope you feel much better very soon. I am so sorry you are experiencing this again. :(
Bucketloads of healing wishes going your way dear @Austina

GM girls! Happy Thursday! So I was supposed to do lab work this morning but just didn't feel like it. I'm tired of doing labs and medical appointments TBH. Anyway I decided to skip it but unfortunately I couldn't cancel because their website was wonky so I was a no show. I tried

@bling_dream19 @Slickk hope you are staying cool

@canuk-gal cycle on cycle sister

@marcy big hugs. How's Marty feeling?

@Austina hope you wake feeling all better today

Hey everyone else. Hope all is well.

We had a good cycling day but OMG it was HOT and today is another HOT day. I think we are planning on cycling but IDK. I don't want Greg to over do. So we shall see. Tomorrow our annual with a new (to us) physician. I just didn't want to travel into the city yet again so we decided to try someone locally. Last year we tried someone locally but didn't love them so hoping this goes better.

I hope you are all enjoying a lovely week. We are having "local" summer. Which basically means when all the visitors are gone. Bye bye lol. The shore is quite popular and now is much quieter than it has been so yay local summer.

Enjoy a terrific Thursday lovely ladies. XOXO

HI:

NIRDI shout out!!!!!

Another lovely day!!! Rode myself today--it was a bit brisk (the mornings are now) but it was gorgeous and peaceful. DH and I had a walk this afternoon and now am enjoying my anniversary champagne (Taittinger YUM): it is 5 o'clock somewhere! Got take out. Had one crappy and one decent day at work this week. Too much stress; I think I am nearing the finish line........

@missy loved the cycle sister reference!!! And that picture of the wave/ocean was splendid. It is good you can say "nope" to all the testing. Must be very fatiguing.

@marcy hope you and your DH are OK!

@Austina vertigo sucks! Hope it is short lived. Are you going to do any investigations?

@Slickk I am sorry your classrooms are so hot! My work environment is SO COLD I need layers and sometimes sit on my hands they are so cold!

I see a new Godzilla movie is coming out Dec 2023! I LOVE GODZILLA!!!! Can't wait!!

cheers--Sharon

Hello lovelies

Ugh @marcy, why do these things happen when you’re on your own? I’m sure it must’ve been very worrying, I hope the little horrors are found and punished. I would like to think their parents would be mortified by their behaviour.

Glad things went well at the GYN @missy, and I’m not surprised you couldn’t face any more encounters with the Vampires! I hope the weather cools down so you can enjoy your cycling.

Thanks @canuk-gal, there are just so many things that can bring on vertigo, I’m just not inclined to be a guinea pig for the Drs to practice on. When I had it years ago, I do recall that I had 2 episodes in fairly quick succession, and then nothing for over 30 years, so fingers crossed it’ll be the same again.

I’m feeling about 85% ATM, just taking it easy and laying down, which is helping. Colin was laughing today and said I’m the only person he knows who could feel sea sick in a swimming pool! We went out for lunch on Tuesday, and went in the pool late afternoon, I wasn’t in for more than 5 mins before the nausea started and I rushed in and was violently ill. I think by tomorrow I’ll probably be more or less back to normal.

Will catch up properly soon, just don’t want to spend too much time looking at the screen.

:wavey:

Good morning lovely ladies..happy FriYAY!

@canuk-gal yes, ty and haha yes cycle sister! Yay for cycling yesterday. We did too and it was a very hot day here. Today no cycling ;( because mid morning appointments that will last til afternoon then thunderstorms. Oh well. I cannot complain.

@marcy how are you doing after that ordeal? Thinking of you and Marty...hoping he is feeling all better and that all is quiet by you

@Austina I am glad you are feeling better and hope today you are feeling 100%. And girl, you are not the only one who can get seasick in a swimming pool. I feel your pain...hugs

@Slickk one of the reasons I retired when I did was the too cold or too hot environment I worked in. I could never really get comfortable and it got worse as I got older. I hope your working environment stays comfy after this heat wave which I think is over now. I hope it is at least

@bling_dream19 happy FriYAY girlfriend

Hey everyone else. Hope all is well. Have a happy FriYAY. Leaving you with our treat yesterday., Another hot but good cycling day

Hi NIRDI’s!

@missy low lives is a good description of those egg-tossers. I get why you are tired of appointments and tests. If it’s like our labs, they probably didn’t even notice. Even if you have an appointment, they pull your paperwork after you check in and they call you in by the order you showed up. I hope you and Greg liked the new physician. We need to find one. One of Marty’s clients works at the hospital and gave Marty a recommendation. I looked him up and he doesn’t take anyone’s insurance. So we’d (I’d) have to submit all our own claims and the insurance would pay less so no thanks. What we pay for insurance, I want the max benefits we can get. I hope it’s not so hot this weekend, but ice can cool you right off. I hope that hurricane doesn’t come your way this coming week.

Marty still is not feeling well. He lifted yesterday and said he was really weak and everything hurts. He’s tired, achy and even cold. Poor guy, it’s rough being away from home when you don’t feel well.

I was less agitated than I was about those “low lives”. And less nervous they haven’t been back. I wake up at every noise and then I keep getting up at 4 and 5 to look for a comet. I don’t really go back to sleep. Tomorrow, I’m trying 4:30 and using my little scope. If I don’t find it, I’ll quit trying.

Last night I met a friend for supper and then we wandered the mall. The 2023 St. Jude teddy bears are out at Kays, so naturally I bought one to donate and one to bring home. It didn’t dawn on me until today I usually buy one of each to donate, so I’ll have to go back. They had puppies too. They donate the stuffed animals to local emergency responders to have to give kids when something is going on and the money goes to St. Judes.

I’ll be bored with weekend with Marty gone. He’s busy most of the week so it’s not strange with him gone. The weekends are a different story.

Have a great weekend.
Marcy

Good morning girls and happy Caturday Saturday!

@marcy I am sorry Marty is not feeling better. Sending bucketloads of healing vibes his way. I know the lab tech at Quest (the two techs I loved at Lab Corp left/were fired) and so I think he knows when I am a no show but he is pretty nice. I just don't know if management gets pissed if we are no shows. I tried canceling but yeah their website was not behaving that morning. I agree with you about seeing drs who accept our insurance since insurance is expensive. Unfortunately I have numerous drs who do not accept any insurance and well I feel I have no choice as I'm a challenging patient health wise. Rare conditions make for a challenging patient. Our annuals went OK but I'm not impressed with the dr. They did not do an EKG which is what we usually get done every annual so less than thorough. But Greg is pleased because we now have a local PCP. Glad those low lives have not been back. So frustrating they got away with vandalizing others properties. Unacceptable. Awww how kind you donate the bears. Glad you enjoyed a lovely visit with your friend. I know you miss Marty and hope he's home before you know it

@Slickk happy weekend!

@bling_dream19 happy Caturday Saturday!

@Austina I hope you are feeling 100 percent better with no dizziness

@canuk-gal happy cycling this weekend...hope we both get to enjoy that activity

Hey everyone else. We had a good day yesterday but no cycling. Annual exams for us both and then we ran errands so we are stocked for groceries for the week. I also drove so that is always good practice for this city girl lol. It's a humid thundering weekend but hoping we can get some cycling in between the storms...not sure but we will try. Have a super Caturday Saturday lovely ladies. XOXO

Leaving you with a Bubbalah selfie...and her pink diamond band

Screen Shot 2023-09-09 at 6.19.33 AM.png

May you all enjoy a bright, bubbly, sparkly weekend XOXO

Shout out to @CJ2008!!! Thinking of you and wishing you peace and contentment today and always dear CJ

Hi NIRDI's!

@missy ooh love the picture of Bubbalah. I haven't seen a picture of that sparking beauty in a while. Your pink diamond band is perfect with it. It will be nice to have a local PCP. I have to start looking around for a new doctor. My BP meds are good through a year from now, but I wanted to get my annual blood work done and I'd have NO idea how to read the results. Nice to practice driving.

I slept pretty good last night. I think I need to try and catch up on those other short nights. I didn't wake up for over 5 hours. That's unusual. I peaked out the window and saw stars, but went back to bed. I didn't go waste my time trying to see a comet. I didn't wake up again until 7:10. Woo hoo!

I rounded up some stuff I wanted to send my niece and out of all the assorted boxes Marty has laying around the man cave, not one of them would work, so I took everything to the UPS store and they were going to pack it and ship it. Other than that i worked a few hours, watched TV, talked to Marty and was mostly bored. I had popcorn for supper.

Have a great Sunday.
Marcy

GM girls and happy rainy ( :( ) Sunday!

@marcy how is Marty feeling? Glad you slept well the other night. TY for your kind comments about Bubbalah. That is very sweet of you to send things to your niece. Popcorn for supper. Yummmmm. I have popcorn daily lol but always as an evening snack. Well after dinner. I love food so I can really pack it on if I wanted to lol

Hey @bling_dream19 @Slickk @canuk-gal @MamaBee @Austina @mrs-b @springerspaniel @rainwood
We had a good cycling day yesterday but today is too risky due to thunderstorms. And I am finally doing the 24 hr urine test I was supposed to do last month. Unfortunately my DR appointment is Wednesday and I will not have the result by then. This dr can be nasty so I am not looking forward to hearing him criticize me. In his defense he is 100 years old (almost lol and he is cranky) and it is my fault as I did procrastinate. I do not like this test much. I find it hard to do for various reasons. And I am also overdue for labs and I just have to suck it up and go. I have to do three different sets of blood tests for three different drs all different tests. And before October/November (depending on the dr) and I am running out of time. Because one, with Quest you must have an appt and two, if I do blood too close together my results will be affected. So must space them out. Plus I am sure insurance is going to get fed up with all the tests and tell me OK we won't cover these. I sure hope that doesn't happen because it is not inexpensive to do lab work here. OK enough of that. LOL

Sharing some photos from yesterday. Have a happy Sunday...filled with lots of good things and love... XOXO

It was warm and hazy yesterday
