Oh my goodness, @missy and @mrs-b, my heart is hurting for both of you. @missy, you have such love for your family, it inspires me, and I don't like to think of you in such emotional pain. I am so sorry your father is suffering so much right now.

And @mrs-b -- does anyone know what is causing your coughing fits? I know that spending time in the ED twice in a week is not what you would rather be doing. I know how much Christmas means to you, and I am so glad that Wendy and Eleanor are there, as well as Tim and the dogs.

Sorry I missed a couple of days. It's been super busy here and a big thank you to @Slickk for keeping you posted and to all of you who care. I deeply appreciate it and do not take your friendship for granted. And thank you @springerspaniel you are so kind..hope your holiday season is going splendidly and @Austina thank you... I hope you and Colin are having a most lovely time. @bling_dream19 TYSM sweet friend. All the best for a wonderful happy and healthy holiday season. @marcy thank you...I hope all is going smoothly.

Thank you all for reaching out and your well wishes for my dad. He is hanging in there. He got admitted to the hospital two (? time is going so fast) days ago but had to wait for a room for 36 hours as all were taken. But his treatment started almost immediately in the ER. The doctors all seem good and competent and caring and we are praying for the best.

Running late right now as we are heading out to see Greg's knee surgeon to set up a surgery date. Then this afternoon he is getting medical clearance for a different surgery he is having at the end of December.

Thank you so much for letting us know @missy. I know you have a lot going on so didn’t want to contact you directly. Continuing to keep you all in my thoughts and sending out positive vibes that your dear Dad will be getting all the care he needs. Good luck to Greg for his pre-op assessment today.

We will shortly be arriving in St Bart’s (actually off the coast), but as we’ve been many time before, we’ll stay on board and just relax. We’ve met some lovely people, recognised a few from previous cruises, and are enjoying the beautiful surroundings on this stunning ship.

Will be thinking of Greg as he awaits his surgery, @missy, and prayers, as always, for your Dad.

After 4 cancelled flights and weeks of being sick, it looks like we'll be 'set to jet' on Christmas eve. I REALLY hope the flight is on time and nothing goes wrong - it's been a very bumpy month!

Wendy, who arrived in CA on the 17th, spent 2 days there before flying out to MA to help out with all the medical drama (she's a nurse), and was here on the second occasion where my throat closed over and I couldn't breathe and ended in the ER. Apparently I've had a stridor (I'd never heard of that before).

Anyway, all is slowly improving and I expect to be able to fly with both Tim and Wen back to CA on Sunday. FINGERS CROSSED!

Wendy took Ballin out for a short walk this evening, fell, broke her humerus (upper left arm - right up next to the shoulder), and we're just home after spending all evening in the ER.

Wendy won't be well enough to fly on Christmas Eve, so we'll be having Christmas here. Her husband, Robert, who has been waiting for her to return, is coming out instead, and will be here for a few days before we (try to) return to LA on the 28th. In the meantime, she's in a lot of pain. Like - a LOT.

I honestly don't know what to make of Christmas this year....

I forgot to share our update: the kitchen roof has been redone so we are hopefully storm ready
We are seeing my dad at the hospital today. He is on heavy duty pain meds and his legs are a mess. Praying he can recover from this.

Monday is my parents 60th wedding anniversary and while my dad will be in the hospital we are just so grateful he is still here with us. Thank you all for your well wishes for my dad.

Hello lovelies from a very hot and sunny Barbados!

We are on Oceania’s Vista @canuk-gal, and I have to say, she’s definitely the pride of their fleet. I resisted cruising for a long time, but now I’m hooked, so much easier to get on board, unpack and then just sail to places. Although this isn’t an ‘exciting’ cruise, inasmuch as we’re not going to interesting places, it’s lovely to just relax, join in the fun, meet nice people and eat without having to cook.

Oh nooooo @mrs-b , you really couldn’t make this up, poor Wendy how thoroughly miserable for her and you all that your plans have taken such an unexpected turn. I hope you’ll still have a lovely Christmas in each other’s company, which is the main thing.

I hope you find your Dad in good spirits @missy, despite the poor soul being in pain, and continuing the good thoughts and positive vibes for his recovery. Happy Anniversary to your dear parents, what an achievement and testament to their enduring love. Glad the roof is fixed, so at least one thing crossed off the list and not worry about.

Merry Christmas to you and your family @jeaniefish, and Amen to 2024 being a better year for us all.

TY for asking about my dad. He took a turn for the worse two days ago and now has pneumonia. His WBC count is through the roof. He had an ID consult last night but I do not yet know the outcome so will be calling as soon as the hour becomes decent. Everyone visited him yesterday including my aunt and uncle from quite the distance. Praying he can recover from this. Thank you for caring
