Good lord...

That came and went in a matter of hours?? How weird is this stuff??

I'm getting tested for MS in Jan. At this point, I dont care what I have so long as it's diagnosed, treated, and managed.

Girl, I hear you. And you know you are in my prayers. Every day

Hello lovelies

I’m keeping everything crossed for you @mrs-b that it’s NOT MS, and hoping they find out whatever it is, and it’s treatable. A friend of mine was diagnosed with MS in her 40’s and started treatment immediately, it’s proving very successful, she’s a nurse and is able to get on with her life without any major issues.

Ugh @missy, I’m hoping that whatever’s causing these mysterious blisters isn’t anything sinister, like you need something else to worry about. I’m sorry Greg needs another knee replacement, and that he’s in pain. Let’s hope they can get him in quickly and get in done so he can recover and get on with life. Keeping everything crossed the upcoming procedure goes smoothly too.

The guys are here putting in more solar panels today, so lots of noise going on.

Shirley’s DIL sent me some video on their little one at his Christmas concert, singing his heart out and jingling his bell  We’re hoping to see them after Christmas, sounds like Shirley is pretty far gone now so she probably won’t know who we are, but we’d like to see her anyway :(.

Keep safe and warm lovely NIRDIs :wavey:

HI:

NIRDI shout out!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is a bit gloomy today--with light flurries. Warm tho..

I don't do much Christmas shopping but the tree looks awfully bare where presents should be. I went out to the mall to get a few things.....but I am at a loss this year. I know my DH wants ANOTHER giant TV but that ain't gonna happen. LOL. He did mention that he wants an exfoliator (he has beautiful skin) and while I usually get something inexpensive I think I'll splurge for Christmas. Dior used to have a super fine grain product I loved. And I like rose products so I'll see if I can find for him.

Work was hell and I got home an hour late. I'll just leave it there.

@marcy I love your Snoopy stuff!!!
@missy wow to blisters!!! On the bright side, you have really lovely teeth!
@Austina where does the time go? It is 10 days to Christmas!!! Hope your packing is finished.
@mrs-b take care of you and yours!

cheers--Sharon

Ugh, sorry work was so awful @canuk-gal, is it beginning to make it easier to make a decision?

Colin and I aren’t getting each other anything this year, (well if you don’t count my new car and my bracelet conversion  )

I am only working one day a week now. You'd think that would be manageable.....

Hope you are enjoying your ride!!!!!

Hi NIRDI’s!

@missy I thought Christmas Eve (or other holidays) is a cool anniversary. That’s kind of neat you and Greg just decided to get married. It turned out quite well for both of you. That is so strange the blisters you are getting and I hope it’s a simple solution. I am glad you consulted a doctor about them. Great shot of the buck. I hope Greg can get his knee surgery soon and get that behind him. Sorry he has to get other tests too. December is always a busy time.

@Austina thanks. I was commenting to Chris we never have that many presents under the Christmas tree. Chris has bought quite a few and we got her some presents. Both of us already “have“ our presents. Glad to hear you found a good route for Colin’s appointment. I bet it felt good to get your hair cut. I hate to hear how Shirley is doing. The video of her grandson sounds really cute.

@mrs-b good luck with your tests.

@canuk-gal I hate to hear work was hell. I keep thinking of going out shopping, but so far I’ve resisted. I do have to return something from Prime to Kohl’s though. I’m waiting for the ice to melt. That may be May. Ha Ha.

Not much new with us. I decided to get the new iPhone for Christmas. It showed up yesterday and I got it set up last night. I put the empty box under the tree.

We had snow and freezing fog here so it’s been crazy icy. I stayed home.

Take care.
Marcy

HI:

Very icy here also @marcy . We had warm weather--slushfest--now cooler temps and ice. Freeze thaw cycle. WHY oh WHY can't is just be warm!!!!!! Hope your DH is feeling better.

@missy I hate to hear Greg is in pain--my Mom also suffered prior to her knee replacement. Unfortunately all too common. How are your folks???

NIRDI shout out!!!

A young lady saw my new bag and asked if I worked for Tiffany! LOL I wish! I need a staff discount (if there is such a thing...)

I think I'll do a little online window shopping

cheers--Sharon

Hello lovelies

Happy FriYay

The solar people had to come back today to finish up, so that’s all done now.

Thanks @canuk-gal, the biggest thing about the car is that I feel safe everytime I get in it, and not worrying it’ll conk out or catch fire! Even one day a week of stress is one day too much! Maybe a change of career is on the cards - is there a Tiffany store near you? Maybe you could get paid in goods rather than cash! Nice that your new bag drew good comments.

Christmas isn’t much of an event anymore when you already have, or can easily get anything you want/need is it @marcy. Which IPhone did you get? Colin’s battery is going, and they no longer do replacements for it, in fact the guy at Best Buy called it a ‘heritage’ model

Colin had to get an appt at the emergency clinic today, since having his ear syringe, he’s been getting pain, and said it still felt bunged up. Luckily a new place has opened up nearby, so we went this afternoon, and he’s got an infection, so has been prescribed AB’s and drops. The drops are nearly $200 o_O We’re waiting for the school traffic to pass before we go and pick them up.

Hope all is well with the lovely NIRDIs, busy day tomorrow, and then we’re off on Sunday morning. Wet and miserable today, but it’s good for the garden :D

Have a great weekend all :wavey:

HI:

@Austina why yes there is!!!! LOL. But I think my days of selling stuff is over!!! Sorry about Colin's ear--my DS used to get impacted ears and once post syringing he got an infection bc the syringing was too aggressive and scraped his canal. No fun at all! Hope Colin feels better soon and glad he got treated before your vacay!

cheers--Sharon

Thanks @canuk-gal, we’ve just been to collect the prescription, and started the treatment. The drops are in a tiny bottle :eek-2: Hopefully, it’ll all start to work soon.

Yes. I hope so also. The instillation of the drops is key.

Good morning lovely ladies and happy Caturday Saturday!
We hit 8000 miles on the bike yesterday. Not bad considering all the medical stuff plus 4 weeks off due to my surgery. I do not anticipate we will be reaching 10,000 miles before April (end of the "cycling year") due to Greg's knee surgery but we shall see. Celebrating the small victories woohoo.

@marcy how is Marty doing? Sweet you got the new iPhone...please let me know what you think about it. My iPhone is on the way out and I want to know if the new one is good. Please stay safe. Ice is very dangerous. I hate it. Stay warm, stay cozy, stay safe and enjoy a wonderful weekend. Healing vibes to Mr Marty

@canuk-gal TY for asking. They are not doing well. I am compartmentalizing as best as possible to be able to function. My dad is dealing with lymphedema and seeing a specialist Monday. He is in a lot of pain :( and my mom is also not doing great. It's been challenging. I am sorry your mom suffered due to her knees. I begged Greg to get them both done four years ago. But no. And so here we are. Just hoping the surgeon can get him in but I am doubtful how soon. Plus we do have many other appointments coming up and also my parents scheduling because we need to be there for them as best we can. I so wish they lived closer. I agree with you. How sweet would a discount be for our favorite designers.

@Austina oh no, wishing Colin a speedy recovery. Luckily this happened before the weekend when getting good medical care could be more challenging

@Slickk super scary. Silence *is* complicity. Completely agree. Big hugs dear friend

@bling_dream19 hope your friYAY was full of yay and have a super Caturday Saturday sweet friend
Speaking of sweet friends

@mrs-b awww thank you dear girl. Love you and sending so many well wishes and healing vibes your way. And gentle hugs

@springerspaniel happy weekend

We had a fantastic FriYAY. Saw my nephrologist in the early AM and status quo for now. I did end up canceling the podiatry appointment but have one for next friday just in case. We then went cycling woohoo. And we hit 8.,000 miles on the bike. Very sweet. 8,033 miles to be exact.

And a photo in our backyard yesterday AM. Very peaceful and calm
Screen Shot 2023-12-16 at 6.37.33 AM.png

Lastly we got a new star for the top of the tree. Another jewish star. We celebrate both holidays and we pray for peace and love in the world. A dream that looks almost impossible to reach because hate is so much stronger than love for some. But we will continue to hope and pray and dream. Without dreaming there is no hope.

Enjoy a happy Caturday Saturday sweet friends. XOXO

HI:

@missy I am SO sorry to hear about your parents and their frailty. Suffering/pain is heartbreaking. It wish it wasn't so.

kind regards--Sharon

Oh no @missy, I’m sorry to hear your parent’s aren’t doing well, what a worry for you all.

It’s been a busy day which didn’t get off to a good start when I noticed there was water under the kitchen sink. Fortunately when we moved in, I’d bought a liner, and we had a big tub under the trap with cleaning products in. I had to take it all out and clean it up. I discovered that a connector on the pipe was really loose, so I tightened it up. It hasn’t completely fixed the problem, but it’ll be fine while we’re away, and we’ll get it sorted when we get back. Oy!

Cleaning all done, and lift confirmed for the morning. Keep your fingers crossed the bad weather in Miami doesn’t affect us getting there.

Stay safe and warm lovely NIRDIs :wavey:

Good morning lovely ladies! Happy stormy Sunday!

@canuk-gal thank you. On a positive side I sent my dad a package of full size reading glasses (weird because NY won't allow shipping from Amazon for glasses to their state) and he loves them . I overnighted them and he got it yesterday. I order from Amazon but they would not ship to NY so I shipped it to me then we shipped it to my parents. We decided to go visit them today however so I could have saved the postage lol. But we didn't know we were going til last night. And I'm also bringing him my THC gummies as he cannot sleep due to the pain so hoping this will help him. Hope you are having a good weekend and your weather is cooperating. It is warmish here but stormy for the next few days

@Austina thanks very much. Oh no to water leakage. Not good at all. I am glad you were able to do a temporary fix. Fingers crossed you have nice weather on your trip. Enjoy

@Slickk happy Sunday...I hope you have a lovely day and stay dry and comfy

@bling_dream19 hope you are enjoying a sweet weekend

@mrs-b I hope you are feeling better with each day. And thanks again for the terrific smelling gift. LOVE it.

@marcy thank you and merry Christmas to you and Mr Marty

Hello everyone else. Hope you're enjoy a good weekend. We cycled again yesterday. It was really lovely. Mild and not too windy. We had ice cream that was delish and it was a treat to cycle two days in a row in December in the Northeast. Today we are visiting my parents (most likely...waiting for my mom to wake up to see if they are up for it). Hope you have a lovely Sunday. Be well. Enjoy.

This is for you @mrs-b..one day in person

Screen Shot 2023-12-17 at 5.53.24 AM.png

And this is a striking red boat we have been passing as we cycle. It is visually quite appealing especially against the late autumn sky and light

Hello lovelies

Just a quick fly by, it’s been a long day! Thankfully the awful weather front that was supposed to cause problems in Miami didn’t affect our flight. We had a loved up couple in front of us on the plane who kept sucking face, and a man behind me who snorted snot the entire flight. Honestly, I was seriously considering asking him if he needed any tissues, he was absolutely disgusting!

We had a long wait for the luggage, but arrived at the hotel and have just had dinner. We off to bed as we’re feeling zonked.

I hoped you managed to see your parents today @missy, and that they’re doing better.

Will catch up whenever the internet allows :wavey:

Hi NIRDI’s!

@canuk-gal a discount at Tiffany’s would be nice but I’d never get any money to take home. Marty bought me a copy Dolce-Gabbana in Hong Kong, it looked pretty cool but the die (purple( stunk to high heaven. The warm-cold cycles are worse than just staying cold. It leads to way more ice. Marty is coughing a bit but feeling better. Thank you for thinking of him.

@Austina I hope all of you solar setup will work good for you. You are so right about Christmas gifts not being anything special when you have our (Marty and me) shopping habits. We used to play “this can be my birthday present” but I swear we’re out for another 150 years by now. I got the iPhone 15 Pro. It does seem to take better pictures than the iPhone 13 Pro I had. LOL that Colin’s phone is a heritage model. What phone does he have? I know most phones they don’t replace the battery anymore. I hate to hear about Colin’s infection. I hope those AB’s and drops clear it right up for him. I had some kind of eye drops for my eye that had an edema in it. It was tiny and about $350 a bottle. The first time I shook it up per instructions and when I opened it I swear $100 worth of solution came flying out. after that I shook it from side to side instead of up and down. You’d think a former astronomy teacher would have thought of that “gravity” thing. Oh no to finding a leak. Hopefully, it’ll be okay while you are gone. Have fun on your trip.

@missy woo hoo for hitting 8K on the bike. Hoping you get in many more in spite of those medical setbacks and appointments. I am quite pleased with the new phone (iPhone 15 pro). My sister-in-law got the iPhone 15 Pro Max a few weeks and really likes it. The camera is great on them. Marty is way better, thank you. Big hugs to the struggles your parents are going through. Those golden years can be tough. Your tree looks fabulous. I always look for a star for our tree, but never find the right one. We put a little Snoopy on top all the time. I hope you did get to see your parents today.

We had another busy weekend. I am WAY behind on my cookie baking. Yesterday Marty got most of the Christmas lights up outside. He finished today. I worked on some January charts for work and have been knitting quite a bit. I am almost up to the beginning of the armholes on the front of my vest.

Last night we went to the Nutcracker at the local Civic Center. Culture in our small city. Today we went to an open house to see a floor plan we are interested in and saw as similar plan nearby. More progress towards a decision.

Take care.
Marcy

Good morning girls! Happy (how did you get here so fast) Monday!

We did see my parents yesterday. My dad is seeing a vascular specialist today and I hope the doctor can offer him relief.

My BIL (and sister) saw them Saturday night and my BIL did what he could for my dad. He wrapped his swollen leaking legs (lymphedema) and said it looks the worst he has ever seen. And that is saying a lot because he works with a very poor and sick patient population in the city. I hope the dummies I gave my dad help him sleep but I think he needs stronger pain meds.

@Austina thank you and have a great trip

@marcy thank you. How nice you got to see the Nutcracker. I love that ballet so much. Your decorations are gorgeous. Yummm to cookie baking. Never too late. I think I can smell the deliciousness from here

@Slickk hope you had a terrific weekend

@bling_dream19 hope your holiday season is going well

@mrs-b continued healing vibes and lots of love

Hey everyone else. Yesterday went by dizzyingly fast. Another stormy day today. We were thinking of shopping at the outdoor outlets today. Not going to let a little rain stop us lol. Later today I have my zoom with my girlfriends.

Leaving you with Zoe. She is a love. MY parents care for 9 indoor cats (a few ferals indoors) and many outdoor ferals. I worry about everyone's future. Stay well girls and enjoy a good week.

Omgoodness @missy. I gasped. It just glows. It’s amazing! Like you! ❤️ Thank you for indulging me!! I love it. Have a fab day!! I’m wrapping presents on this unexpected day off!! (While keeping my phone charged in case of power outage). Be safe out there Missy!

Sigh.

I think Christmas is kinda ruined for us at this point. I was meant to be in LA with Wendy - who arrived yesterday - but I'm still in Boston and not looking like I'll be able to travel any time soon. Tim and Eleanor are both much better, but I spent the day at the ED last Monday - then again yesterday. I'm having these coughing fits that won't stop, and my throat sort of closes over, and I can't breathe. It's terrifying. Happened again this morning, so I'm heading back to the doctor again in a little bit.

Your prayers would be appreciated.

Missy -

I'm super weak at the moment but I just read about your dad. I'm so very, very sorry. Praying for relief and peace for him. And for you. And for Greg and his poor knee! The amount of illness and injury going around these days is just unreal. Love to you and your family, my friend. <3

Your new necklace is stunning. A beautiful statement.

Thank you dear friend. I got a call from my mom an hour ago and they had to cancel his appointment with the vascular surgeon. He cannot move at all. I fear he has to go back to the hospital. I feel this is near the end and I don't know how to help. I feel so helpless. :(

And you are in my thoughts and prayers every single day. And in my heart

The roofer actually came (I called a different one) and he is going to replace it the end of this week.

Busy morning and it isn't even noon here yet
