Wow, @missy, you can tell those owners have really put their heart and soul in to keeping those cars in tip top shape. I love the dress, it’s a really classic style, but slightly whimsical. Everything crossed it arrives in time. Ugh, sorry about the PX not being renewed in time, when are these insurance companies realise that an ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure? I hope your Dad was well enough to enjoy his special day and is doing better.

I hope you’re doing better @mrs-b and finding some relief from all the pain.

Weather here is lovely, although the temps are hot, it’s been slightly overcast and windy, so we’ve been in the pool at lot. I can’t remember if I mentioned it, but we’re off to Washington D.C. on Thursday for a few days, so I’ve been busy, getting things organised.

Lots to do this coming week, cleaning, laundry etc., so busy, busy, busy.

I ordered a dress overnight from Amazon (my friend suggested looking on Amazon and bingo she was right) and I love it! It's retro and so inexpensive too so bonus. Ha I never though I could get stuff like this from Amazon..what doesn't Amazon have lol. Hope you enjoyed the bubbly for Father's Day yesterday and may the sun come out to stay

Wow @missy, I love the dress, it’s just so cute, very 50’s chic. Apparently Washington is going to be under a heat dome, so it’s going to be stinking hot while we’re there! Yuk, but we’ll be prepared.

Another cool/windy/wet day. Navigated my time between the weather to cycle/walk. Was a bit of a trick! Figuring out what to take on holidays, etc. Busy week bc of travel and other stuff.

My friend with the cat bite is feeling better, antibiotics must be working. And yes, when I worked in Burns and Plastics I saw my fair share of awful wounds from cat bites.

@missy those cats are dining very well and waiting for you. Sorry about the mosquito bites, I get welts from them too. They get so itchy, Glad you are covering up to go out there. Hopefully some ocean breeze will keep them at bay. That is so crappy about Medicare and the time restrictions on your bad. I love that dress. It is so cute.

@canuk-gal yes we are having crappy weather with lots of places in the state getting snow. I hope you have a lovely time on your trip.

@Austina I bet getting outdoor chores done early in the morning is a good idea. We were very chilly here today. We aren’t having a heatwave.

No new on selling our house. The open house was a bust, no one showed up at all. Someone was going to come see it on Monday, but decided against it because they don’t want their kids in the backyard by the greenway. On the buying front, paperwork and assorted kinks on that side are stressing me out. One BIG problem is the area we are moving too is a high fire risk so some insurance companies won’t offer homeowner’s insurance, or if they do - it’s very pricey.

We went to a friend’s for supper and left as the sun was setting. So we zipped out to TBE and here’s my first sunset from there.

Hi everyone - apologies for posting so intermittently.

The last few weeks have been a huge struggle and I've been fighting hard to keep my head above water. I'm having an endoscopy on Friday, so we'll see if that can confirm the gastroparesis diagnosis.

Tomorrow is my birthday and I have a couple of visitors here with me, helping me celebrate. Pretty exhausted, but happy nonetheless.

Please forgive the brevity of this - I just have no energy at all these days.

Not much new here. I did just finish the hat set for my niece and her son. I’ll get them in the mail this weekend.

We did visit TBE this morning. The carpet is in now, I still wonder if they’’ll meet the July 15 closing state. I guess they have over 3 weeks left. It’s a lot of detail work. I ordered some blackout curtains for our bedroom. Other than that, we can wait until we move in to get window coverings. No one has come to see our house for over a week. I hope it sells at least this summer.

We had a long day yesterday. We drove to Philadelphia to see a specialist for both of us and by the time we got home we were both exhausted but it didn't help that the prior night I slept maybe two hours if that. IDK why I woke and couldn't go back to sleep but last night I slept OK.
Today is officially day two of the heat wave. I worry for the ferals and am giving them all our ice but it melts within minutes. I cannot replenish fast enough. They were all waiting this morning for me including two new kitties. It is revolving cats around here lol.

@marcy good deal the carpet is in and I hope they meet the July 15th deadline. OMG summer is going too fast!!! Window coverings are critical as we found out when we first moved in here...we had nosy neighbors who have since moved but we got window coverings almost immediately after realizing they were nosy lol. Good luck with the house sale...it will sell and I am sending you lots of good luck sale vibes

Ugh, I’m sorry the house hasn’t sold yet @marcy, everything crossed that you’ll get a buyer soon so you’re not servicing 2 homes. Perhaps this weekend your perfect buyer turns up. It really starts looking like a home when the carpets are down. As long as you’ve got curtains/blinds in the bedroom when you move in, it’s good. It’s not like you’ve got neighbours on your door step!

Hope you’re all ready for your trip @canuk-gal, this travelling lark is tiring.

Long day yesterday, didn’t sleep well the night before and we had a relatively early start. We like to get to the airport early just in case - I have to rein Colin in, or he’d been there ridiculously early! Flight was uneventual, but Dulles was the only airport we’ve ever been to where there was no train from the terminal we landed at. They had tundra like buggies which wasn’t ideal. Hotel is very nice, we sat on the roof yesterday evening, over looking the Potomac.

We had to get up really early today because we were going on a river cruise up to Mount Vernon to see Washington’s estate. It’s hotter than hell, so really tiring walking around in it. Back at the hotel now, so an early night for us. Off on a trolley bus tour tomorrow, and then we’ll decide where we’ll get off to explore. It’s going to be even hotter this weekend, so we’ll be going to the museums to stay inside and keep cool.

Good morning girls!

We had a huge storm last night. Trees down everywhere. Power out. Damage to the houses (our neighbors had their neighbors tree fall on his house ). Winds of over 70 mph horizontal. Water in house from the sheer force of the winds pushing the rain through the door frames. Every room with a terrace door got water. And. Of course. I was and am most worried about the ferals. Saw Fresca and Pepsi. Pepsi has a slight limp. Dr Pepper is missing. Shasta is missing. Saw Sasha. Missing little Pepsi. Praying they are ok. Not to see Shasta and little Pepsi this am is not good as they are always here at 5am. And Dr Pepper too. Ugh. The storm was unexpected at that strength. Locals who have lived here said worst storm ever. Worse than sandy. On,y difference is it lasted less than 45 minutes. It was so violent. The door frame cracked. Our house is brick and stone and I was scared it was going to be blown away. Our neighbors outdoor patio furniture was blown over 150 feet into our yard. Their huge wood table. In our yard. Our heavy trunk blown over and upside down. Huge mess. No ETA on power. Or internet. Hoping the generator keeps working but at 2am we all got woken by a carbon monoxide alarm. Greg disabled it. Probably the generator exhaust. I am not shutting the generator. It’s too hot out plus I have my dupixent in the fridge that must be kept at 36-46 Fahrenheit

Never a dull moment here lol


If I go missing for a bit it will only be due to losing my 5g connection on my phone. It’s spotty here but it’s the only thing I have since our internet tv and power are out. No eta on internet or power. It’s a mess everywhere. Huge trees down. Power lines down. Roads closed. And today’s the hottest day yet of our heat wave.

Good afternoon lovely ladies
Happy marvelous Monday


What a day yesterday. Power was still out but thankfully our generator was working. We went out. Came home at 3pm still no power. AC working upstairs and downstairs. Half an hour later ac stopped working upstairs. I called our hvac guy. 330 pm Sunday. He sent a tech over within the hour. He told Greg it was overheated due to the generator being next to it plus the hundred degree temperature yesterday. Yup. You heard that right. 100 F. He told Greg how to fix it and left. Within ten minutes it was working again. Whew. Greg had to leave a hose with water sprinkling through it. Did the trick. TG!

Last night around 8pm our power was restored.

My dad was sent home yesterday. He remains in good spirits despite still experiencing diarrhea straight three weeks now

I have seen all our ferals thank goodness. Pepsi is limping slightly so I’m monitoring the situation. Otherwise they’re all good. And Pepsi seems good other than a slight limp. Praying it heals on its own

This morning we left for an early ride. 50 miles. Delightful temps at that early hour

I’m pretty tired. Tomorrow is a big day so I’m hoping to get a good night's sleep tonight
