Now I really did it :((

I’m so sorry I don’t have the bandwidth to respond to anyone. Both Bobby and Tommy are refusing all food. My sister’s boss is willing to see them despite being fully booked but their xray machine has been broken since Saturday. They’re hoping it’ll get fixed today. The wrong part was sent yesterday. They both need X-rays. I’m so worried. We’re in the city for a medical appointment then we’ll head home get the cats and drive three hours to Brian’s office. Please keep Tommy and Bobby in your thoughts and prayers. I’m not feeling good about their prognosis :(

Oh no @missy I am so sorry! Sending prayers for Bobby and Tommy! Hopeful the Vet can figure out what is going on! I also hope the traffic isn’t awful for your travels. ((Hugs)) and much ❤️
Good luck @marcy with the inspectors! I would be nervous as well! I’m sorry, I must’ve missed why you’re calling your new home TBE. So exciting though!!
Hope you’re feeling well @mrs-b Such beautiful new pieces you’ve gotten recently! I hope they bring you much comfort and joy!
@MamaBee lady!! Hope you’re feeling ok. Thinking of you!!
@canuk-gal enjoy your time away!!
@springerspaniel I hope your presentation went swimmingly!!

I’m enjoying the much-needed time off. We will be doing some home improvement projects this summer!
I hope I didn’t miss anyone!
Here’s a Bear pic, he’s such good company for me!

So sorry to hear the update @missy, keeping everything crossed for your precious kitties.

Love the photo of Bear @Slickk - more please

Needless to say it’s HOT here.

Omgoodness I think I missed you @Austina ! I’m so sorry!! My brain is absolute mush. It’s going to take a few weeks to get back up to speed. Sorry it’s so hot there. It’s surprisingly cool here, windows open kind of cool!! I do feel bad for the pool owners though, I used to be one. Such a short season here, and practically non existent without a heater.
Glad you enjoyed your trip to our Capitol. I’ve taken that trip with about …300 8th graders. Hahah
Happy to oblige with the Bear pic! Or two.

Ohhhhh and y’all, I’m going to be a nana this year! Late fall!! A baby boy ❤️

Hoping the trip to the vet was successful @missy :pray:

:kiss2: He’s gorgeous @Slickk and congratulations!

Your yard is absolutely stunning! (from what I can see....) and Bear--isn't he so precious??? Looks like he has his summer do!! (shorn...)..I though you needed a rest--doing summer reno's? Sounds nonrestful to me!! lol

Congrats on your news!!! How EXCITING!!!!!!!!

@canuk-gal thank you so much!! We are very excited! It’s the first grand baby.
And yes, good eye, I do like to keep the Bear shorter in summer, but truth be told, I love him short…he feels like velvet and it’s much less daily care. Good thing I groom him myself as I am pretty particular.

GM girls and happy wonderful Wednesday!

Thank you @Slickk @mrs-b @canuk-gal @Austina @springerspaniel @marcy and everyone else for all your well wishes. It was a long day. We went into Manhattan for my medical appointment. Then went home and picked up the kitties and went to Great Neck (Traffic galore) and when we left the GPS took us into Manhattan again to get home. It was a very very long day. The head vet could not figure it out. X-rays normal. Labs normal. He gave Tommy and Bobby a few injections including steroids, appetite stimulator and B12. Tommy is anorexic at 7lbs. His X-rays were all bones. Very upsetting. His stomach was EMPTY. Long story short they were not eating when we got home (supposed to take 2 hours for the appetite stimulator to work) but before bed they ate a little and they ate a little more this morning. The injection for appetite only lasts three days so we shall see. In the meantime Oliver is also acting weird. He did not eat any wet food yesterday. Some dry treats only. Very unlike Oliver. Gracie so far is eating normally. I am very concerned. We ruled out radon, carbon monoxide and anything else we could think of...we changed food but that also adds a complicating factor since cats like what they like and do not like change. It's a mystery and I am praying they all continue eating. We are both exhausted from the past few days and worrying about the cats. If necessary I will make an internal medicine appointment for the cats at the veterinary hospital near us but the stress of the trip to the vet takes its toll on the cats. I mean Tommy was yelling the whole ride back and home and it was so upsetting. We are trying to do the best we can but I am not sure it will be enough. They really are our children so this is emotionally draining and I just hope and pray they will be OK. Mysteries when it comes to health issues are not good.

@marcy HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!! 33 years woohoo!!! Good luck with the house inspections and all house related stuff...fingers crossed. Thank you for your well wishes XOXO

@mrs-b thank you. IDK what it is but it's affecting all the cats. Tommy very severely because before last night he was refusing all food for four full days and lost over a lb and for an 8 plus lb cat that is serious. Praying they continue to eat. Hope your babies are all well ((((HUGS))))

@Slickk Bear is such a handsome love. Please give him big hugs from me and thank you for sharing his photos. And thank you for your well wishes for our babies XOXO

@bling_dream19 big hugs, much love and well wishes to you and your family for a very happy July 4th

@canuk-gal thank you sweet friend. Sending you so many well wishes and hugs. I loved lemon drops when I was drinking. That and gin and tonic and dark and stormy on cold winter nights. Enjoy the rest of your vacation and sending well vibes to you and your DH. Glad he is feeling better Big hugs and much love

@Austina aww thank you. I cannot believe it was a 39$ amazon dress I wore to the event lol. I think I spent more on my shoes. And thank you so much for your well wishes. As you know the furry babies are our babies and I am still worried sick about them. The injections Brian gave them will be temporary in effect so I am concerned what happens when they wear off. All the cats being affected is very suspicious and not coincidental. I cannot figure out what is going on...and neither can any of their doctors. We saw Brian (head vet), Paula (vet employee) and my sister who is very smart has been consulting with us multiple times a day since Saturday. We are lost as to why. I keep thinking what is in the air that is poisoning our cats. They are smaller than us so of course affected more severely. I mean my appetite has been less too (I lost three lbs which is a lot on me) but I attribute that to stress from what is happening with the kitties. IDK. Anyway thank you for your friendship and support XOXO

@springerspaniel thank you for your well wishes and sending big hugs and lots of love your and your furry babies way

Hey everyone else. Hope all is well.

So as I wrote above yesterday was exhausting and on top of it all my Dupixent injections were being delivered yesterday (ETA between 12:45PM and 3:45PM) but I wasn't home because of going to the vet clinic in Long Island three hours away each way. I called my friend at 6AM yesterday. She lives in a neighboring town and she was so kind as to stay home til it was delivered and she went over and put it in her fridge (must be kept 36-46F) and then she went out to do what she needed to do. But she waited to make sure she got them immediately to keep them at 36-46F. I mean she went above and beyond because she got to the house 1 minute before it was delivered just to check so it wouldn't be kept out in the heat. It was delivered at 1PM and she called me as I was getting the text from UPS about it being delivered. She is awesome!!!!! If it wasn't for her I would not have been able to go with Greg and the kitties to Great Neck and I very much wanted to be there. Anyway that was yesterday and we are hoping to cycle today if possible. Sending you all big hugs and much love. Be well. Enjoy. XOXO

X-rays of Tommy (their X-ray machine was fixed half an hour before we got there)

@Slickk I am so excited for you sweet S!!!! Most beautiful and kindest Nana ever!!!

@springerspaniel I hope your presentation went super smoothly and you get the offer you are dreaming of and sending you so many good wishes!!!

@MamaBee I know your procedure is coming up and we are all thinking so many good thoughts for you sweet friend. Sending healing vibes and all the best XOXO

Hi NIRDI’s!

@missy I sure hate to hear the kitties aren’t eating. Keeping them in my thoughts. It does make you wonder what could be affecting all of them. You did have a long day and I hope your appointment went well. Love the picture of Gracie on the ladder. Marty had two big ladders in here after taking down pictures and patching the wall. Gracie would have had fun. You can’t be awesome neighbors like that.

@slckk TBE is Teddy Bear Estate. Our house is being build in an area called Little Bear Estates and all the names of the roads mean bear. So naturally, with my teddy bear collection, the new house will be TBE. I am glad you have time off and good luck with your house projects. Yay for a grand baby and bear is so cute.

A friend came over for lunch and cards today. She picked up pizza for us for lunch.

Marty got sick - he thinks from Culver’s - so he’s been playing a couch potato to two days. He did get the pictures all taken down and the little holes patch. I HATE watching him working on the two hanging in our stairwell. He took down the large clock over the fireplace, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve looked up there and there’s no clock. I went and got my little Tiffany clock to put there. At least I can see the time when I look over there.

I got a hat and one mitten done for another niece. Our nephew’s kids are coming Monday to take a bed, two dressers, two nightstands, a deck, a bookcase and several crock pots. Yay, less to move. That leaves the guest bedroom without a dresser, but that’s fine with me. Less tempting for someone to move in with us for two months. Ha! I was using those dressers for sheets, blankets, knitting stuff and other things. TBE will have a linen closet so that’ll work for most of the stuff. I need to get rid of more stuff though.

I tried to turn in a change of address notice and since it’s a new address, the online form said “address doesn’t exist.” Guess I’ll go get in line at the post office soon. I was thinking tomorrow, but it’s a holiday.

Take care.
Marcy

Happy Fourth of July Nirdis

@marcy I am sorry Marty isn’t well and sending lots of healing vibes his way. Sweet finishing your knitting for family. I am sure they’re going to love what you made. Good luck with the post office change of address issue. Thank you for your continued support and well wishes.

Hi everyone. Sorry I am keeping this brief. Hope all is well and everyone who celebrates enjoys a terrific holiday ♥️

Bobby is not eating much at all again. Tommy is eating but also very little. I think the meds are wearing off and we’re no closer to figuring it out :(

So far Gracie and Oliver are eating but I’m very worried whatever is affecting the older cats will start affecting the younger cats.

Have a happy July Fourth holiday. Be well. XOXO

Hello lovelies

The day got away from us yesterday!

Happy belated anniversary @marcy, 33 years is quite an achievement. Our DH’s got so lucky when they met us all, as our many years of marriage attest to  Yay to ‘recycling’ lots of your surplus things, anything you know you won’t need, best to get rid of a.s.a.p. Sorry to hear Marty hasn’t been well, I hope he’ll be back to full strength soon.

Oh my goodness @missy, I suppose the good news is that the vet didn’t find anything obviously wrong, but it’s very worrying when they won’t eat. We had several days when we couldn’t get Dottie to drink, but eventually she just did, and we could never get to the bottom of it. Fingers crossed they start to rally soon, I know how exhausting the worry can be.

When we had our sheepdogs sheared, they always felt like velour, and one in particular looked like he had on a tux because of his markings @Slickk  Honestly, it’s so much more comfortable for them in the summer, despite what some of the purists say.

We had a long FT with our friends, and the good news is their SIL doesn’t have meningitis. He was very fortunate that when he arrived at the hospital he was seen by a specialist, who thinks his long covid, which has led to frequent bouts of nausea and sickness and dizziness, has caused a particular type of migraine, and this was a particularly intense one. They’ve given him some meds which has already helped a lot. We then had to wait for the pergola guy to come, and had to eat early so we could go to trivia.

Very hot here today, we’ve done our food shopping, so we’ll be in the pool later.

Happy 4th to those celebrating !

:wavey:

Hi NIRDI’s! Hoping those of you celebrating Independence Day had a good one and safe one.

@missy I am on the scarf for my niece now. I want to get it done, a hat and baby mittens done before we move. It’s WAY more fun than packing. Marty is better, thank you. I hope all the kitties are eating by now.

@Austina you are so right, our DH got lucky. I often tell Marty he never had it so good. Marty is better, thank you. But not well yet. That’s nice to catch up with friends on FT. Glad the SIL saw a specialist and the meds they gave him helped already. You’ll enjoy the pergola. I am pretty excited TBE has a covered front porch and patio. However, it’s facing east or west, so we’ll have to switch sides of the house about midday. Stay cool.

I figured I’d be working today. I was, but not my usual “desk” job. I was packing until almost noon. Not my idea of fun. I decided to lift then while I still had the energy to do it. Then I spend the afternoon watching movies and knitting. I rented “The Twisters” - if you want it watch it, wait until it’s free. Then I watched “Firebrand”. It was pretty good.

Tomorrow morning is the first of five inspections ordered by the buyers. Wish us luck.

Take care.
Marcy

GM girls and happy FriYAY!

Good luck today @marcy at the first inspection..my fingers are crossed it goes smoothly
Glad Marty is feeling better and hopefully soon he will be 100% well
I hate packing too and just remember one day at a time and soon you will be finished and relaxing in your beautiful new home
I saw the movie Twisters in the theater and I think Helen Hunt was starring in that version. We watched a pretty good movie last night about a girl who traveled back in time when she listened to specific songs. Of course the name escapes me at the moment lol

@Austina Yay for enjoying a nice FT with your friends. And thank goodness their SIL is OK. Very scary. I am with you on the heat. No thank you...actual temps are in the 80s here but it feels much warmer because the humidity has increased a lot. So far the kitties are eating but Bobby is eating much less than usual. This afternoon the appetite stimulants they were administer tuesday at the vet's office by the vet will be out of their system so praying they continue eating. It is such a worry. I would rather be sick than have them be sick. I do see them drinking water thank goodness. We bought them this fancy water fountain but LOL in true cat fashion they are still drinking from the old fashioned water bowls. This thing was pricey so I hope they start drinking from it soon. However they get water tho is A OK with me as long as they get it. Enjoy the pool and stay cool

@Slickk hope you had a terrific July 4th and are enjoying time off from work. As HRH Francesca used to say..."what is a weekend"

@bling_dream19 hope you are having a wonderful extended holiday and all is going as smoothly as possible

@canuk-gal hope summer is going well and you are enjoying it to the max...and getting to cycle too

@MamaBee you continue to be in my thoughts and prayers

@mrs-b hope you had a wonderful holiday with loved ones and all is going well

@springerspaniel hope your presentation went very well and you are pleased with the outcome

Hello everyone else. Hope you are enjoying a lovely week

We cycled yesterday and enjoyed ice cream and saw friends and it was a lovely July 4th. The town has the fireworks tonight and while I used to like that kind of thing when I was young I don't anymore because I worry for the outdoor cats and all indoor pets who are scared of the noise. And let's face it...that's most animals. So hoping it goes smoothly with no one getting injured.

So far the cats are eating... not as much as usual but at least they are eating...this afternoon the appetite stimulant will be completely out of their system so we shall see what happens. Fingers are crossed they continue to eat. Such a worry and not knowing why makes it that much harder because how do we successfully treat without knowing the cause?

Have a happy FriYAY lovely ladies. Be well. Enjoy. XOXO
May it be filled with sweet delights

HI:

NIRDI shout out!!!!

We have been enjoying our Cali holiday. It has been steady @45C and that is hot! LOL I have been exercising in the pool everyday and that has been a relief from the heat and enjoyable. I'll feel good when I get home and cycle.

My DH still continues to cough but not as much and it is an irritated cough--not productive. Hope that goes away soon--nice holiday cold. Ugh. We fly out Sunday AM. Our weather, at home, is very fine!!!!

@missy hope the furry family continues to eat! Hope your parents are doing as well as they can.
@marcy I do not envy you packing. Thanks for the tip about Twisters. Hope Marty is on the mend.
@Austina how are your roses and plants doing? I'm sure my pots will be a disaster--hopefully all the rain we've (in our absence) reached them.

I've seen a few very desirable pieces of jewellery while here--tourmaline "paraiba" ring and a reddish spinel pendant. Heard about some Imperial topaz items but did not see them. Maybe I need to do a lot of homework?? LOL

cheers--Sharon

Hi NIRDI's! Happy Canada Day!

@missy I agree, Twister with Helen Hunt is a good movie. This new movie was okay. It was something to watch while I was knitting. I am so glad the kitties are eating a bit and drinking water. Progress. How are your parents getting along? I've been keeping them in my thoughts.

@canuk-gal I'm so glad you are enjoying your vacation. And how fun to see some jewelry pieces that caught your eye.

The whole house inspection was a regular anal probe for the house. The buyers came too. The husband talked to us a bit, she never said a word. Their realtor came with them plus the lady that did the inspection. We were in the den. It sounded like they were breaking things and she actually did break / crack the roof in the garage. She went up in the attic and stepped on something she thought was a 2x4 that broke through the drywall. It's not a hole, but it's cracked. I hope she didn't fall or hurt herself. The realtor said they'd fix it after the move in. We'll see if the inspectors coming on Monday will gripe about it.

Marty decided he was done with work by the time they showed up this morning, so we went out for lunch. A luxury for me during the week. He feels better but doesn't not quite normal yet.

My packing plan is limited today. I think I'll work on the closest in the laundry room. Maybe. I haven't decided yet. We're going to Colorado tomorrow to pick up some wireless speakers for our living room TV. Our current system is all corded and runs through a tuner. We have wiring in the floor here to run the wires. We didn't have them set that up at TBE.

Take care.
Marcy

I ran errands. On closer inspection. That ladies foot had to come through the ceiling. It’s lucky she didn’t fall through. My car would have broken her fall, but I’m sure she would have been hurt and my car would not have looked the same.

GM girls and happy Caturday Saturday! I am having trouble keeping track of what day it is

@marcy oy to the vey. TG no one was injured. Have a good trip to Colorado. Good for you starting packing and the laundry room is as good a place to start as any room. Thanks for asking about my parents. Hanging in there but it's not a good situation and I know my mom is super stressed because my dad is an invalid right now and according to her refuses to work at home PT. How is Mr Marty feeling? I hope each day brings him to feeling 100% again

@canuk-gal thank you. I appreciate your well wishes. YAY for enjoying your California holiday. Yes that is HOT and the pool is wonderful for cooling off...I am sorry your DH is still experiencing symptoms and hope he is feeling 100% soon. Safe flight on Sunday and yay for beautiful Canadian weather waiting for you...we have thunderstorms every day in our forecast for the foreseeable future. I think I have PTSD from thunderstorms after that horrific storm a few weeks ago..the neighborhood still looks a bit like a war torn zone with all the trees and branches down and not yet picked up..oooh if you see Imperial Topaz please take a photo...swoon

@Slickk happy weekend...enjoy

@bling_dream19 happy Caturday Saturday

@mrs-b hope all is going well

@MamaBee keeping you in our thoughts every single day

@springerspaniel hope you have a very excellent update to share soon

Fingers and toes crossed the kitties keep eating. It's nerve wracking. We are leaving food out now (which we never dared do when Oliver was hoovering everything in site...but now he is not. I am concerned about that but he is eating. And so far Sir Tommy is eating and Bobby is too but his appetite is greatly reduced so I am worried about that. Gracie knock wood is eating "normally" still...may that continue and may they all continue to eat and thrive

Some incredible news...we figured out yesterday that Fresca is over 8 years old...how do I know this? Well, in my photo feed a photo popped up yesterday morning that was from 2016 September and it was definitely Fresca. Her eye is unique as her right eye aperture is smaller than her left and bingo. In the photo from 2016 same eye differences and same markings...just wow. A feral cat usually lives two to three years max here but Fresca is over 8 years old! I am so happy we were able to help keep her well and pray that continues. No clue how old anyone else is and the only reason I realized it was Fresca is because of the eye differences which are more pronounced now

September 2016

Now, More gray but definitely sweet Fresca

Yesterday we enjoyed a lovely cycling day due to an east wind keeping the real feel tolerable despite the temps in the 90s F and of course cooled off with a sweet treat mid ride

Screen Shot 2024-07-06 at 6.30.19 AM.png

Enjoy a sweet and purrrrfect Caturday Saturday all...XOXO

Hi NIRDI’s!

@missy big hugs to you and your parents. It’s a difficult situation. Marty is better, but his stomach gets to get back to normal. I am sending mega dust for the kitties to keep eating. It could be the heat, they do have on fur coats. How cool Fresco is 8 years old. Glad the weather was tolerable for cycling today and mmm to ice cream.

We had a nice time in Colorado today. Tested one side-by-side utility vehicle, picked up some stuff at Best Buy and ate at our favorite steak place. We’re moving to a wireless surround sound at the new house so got that and a wine fridge. It’ll hold mostly bottle water and mini Cokes.

I think I’ll just knit and not worry about packing anything. A day off from that. Yay.

Take care.

Here we are zooming around the parking lot.

GM girls! Happy big and small dog Sunday!

@marcy lol love that photo. Hopefully Marty will be feeling all better very soon. Thank you for your continued good wishes. They are eating as of 530AM this morning but now Tommy is once again refusing his med. SO in a little while we have to force him which I HATE to do. But his thyroid was way too high when we stopped the med for 1.5 days so we cannot miss a dose now. UGH. I feel like we are on borrowed time with the elderly kitties and I do not like it. I have been thinking of HRH Francesca more often these past few weeks because of what is happening and I am very sad. My heart still hurts missing her. I am glad you had a nice time in Colorado and enjoy a beautiful Sunday

@canuk-gal @Slickk @bling_dream19 @Austina @springerspaniel @mrs-b @MamaBee and everyone else....good morning. Hope you are enjoying a lovely weekend

We went cycling yesterday and it was a nice east wind. We lost power twice yesterday afternoon and evening. JCP&L has to get their act together. The infrastructure here needs work. Lots of it. TG for our generator. Today we are hoping to cycle despite the thread of thunderstorms. Hoping we can cycle in between the storms.

Fresca yesterday morning enjoying the coolness of the greenery

Tommy was pleased with our delivery from Chewy...we get deliveries like this daily now from chewy as I am trying everything I can to keep them eating. We are Chewy's favorite customers LOL

Enjoy a terrific Sunday lovely ladies XOXO

Happy Sunday evening, @missy, @canuk-gal, @Slickk, @Austina, @marcy, @bling_dream19, @MamaBee and @springerspaniel!

@marcy - LOVE the photo! So glad the inspector didn't go through the roof! And I'm glad you enjoyed Colorado. :))

@Austina - if your weather is anything like our weather today, your pool must be more like a hot tub! I hope you're staying out of the heat!

@canuk-gal - are you home or on your way home? I hope your vacation has been fabulous and that your DH was finally able to totally throw off his cold. And vacation jewelry is such fun - I hope you found something to bring home!

@missy - so pleased to hear the kitties are eating. Fingers crossed that they continue to do so. And Fresca living to 8+ is extraordinary! Clearly, you're doing something right!

Hot hot HOT here in Boston. 91deg, real feel of 100, and humidity in the 90's. So, ostensibly, it was like a bath. Tomorrow will be the same - ie hideous.

I seem to have developed a spasm in my neck/left shoulder which is running down my left arm and causing me all sorts of discomfort. Trying to get in with the PT tomorrow. I'm meant to go back to LA in 10 days - hoping I can do 2 appts with the PT before then; at this point I can't even fully open my mouth, everything is so tight.

Other than that, not much to report. Even the dogs were too hot to do much today; the humidity takes it from "hot" to "revolting".

Hugs to you all! <3

GM girls and happy how did you get here so fast Monday!

@mrs-b we are in the middle of a heat wave here too. Temps in the 90s but real feel in the 100s. We are melting and of course I am worrying about the feral cats. It's too hot for them. And we discovered we have 5 raccoon babies who I saw for the first time yesterday morning. Adorable and I hope they can withstand this heat. I do not know where their momma is and I sure hope she is OK. This is the momma raccoon I was talking about a month or so ago and turns out yes. She was pregnant LOL. I never heard of trapping and neutering and releasing raccoons so I do not think that is done. Just hope all the outdoor animals remain safe and well in this horrible heat and humidity.

I hope PT helps your spasm and pain and that your scheduled LA trip can go on as planned. Sending continued healing vibes and gentle hugs your way and lots of love

Hello everyone else. @Slickk @bling_dream19 @canuk-gal @springerspaniel @Austina @MamaBee (this is the week and we are thinking good thoughts for you) @marcy (that looked like so much fun) and everyone else...hope all is well

Sir Tommy has a cold. Probably from the two vet visits and the stress of it all. So now we are once again on edge because a cat with a cold means eating could stop at any minute if his sense of smell becomes compromised. And he is sneezing and sniffling up a storm. Praying we can get through this too

We cycled yesterday despite the heat and hope to cycle today too. Stay cool everyone and enjoy a marvelous Monday XOXO

Hello lovelies

I don’t know where the last few days have gone!

We got up Friday and got on with the mowing.

I hope you had a safe flight home @canuk-gal and are feeling rested and refreshed from your holiday.

OMG @missy, you must be keeping Chewy afloat all on your own. Your kitties and the ferals are so lucky that you’re so caring. I hope the boys are still eating and doing better, it’s such a worry for you. Keeping your parents in my thoughts and hoping they are managing as best they can.

Ugh @mrs-b, I’m sorry to hear about your latest issue, and hope you can get the PT you need before heading out to Ca again. We’ve been leaving the pool uncovered overnight, which is bringing the temps down, so although it’s been hot, the pool has been just perfect at 90 degs.

Yikes, how careless of that woman to put her foot through the ceiling @marcy, hoping all goes well with the inspections and the house move is going smoothly.

We’ve spent a lot of time in the pool this weekend, it hasn’t been outrageously hot, (at least it doesn’t feel like it) and the pool has been just perfect.

No plans for the week so far, we’ll see what come up.

Hi NIRDI’s!

@missy big hugs to you and the kitties and to missing sweet Francesca. You are doing all you can for them. I hate to hear Tommy has a cold, I hope that goes away soon. Glad you have a generator, both my nieces are without power in Houston from the hurricane/tropical storm that hit there. They both have generators, one a whole home and the other one that can run a window AC and the refrigerator. I bet you are one of Chewy’s favorite customers and I love the picture of Tommy watching cat TV. My niece has a game she lets her cats play on her iPad. It’s pretty cute. The baby raccoons are cute. My sister has a raccoon family in her backyard in the summer. The babies and there cat stare at each other through the patio door. Stay cool.

@mrs-b that sounds HOT there. We had a day in the 60’s recently. Mostly in the 70’s and 80’s. Of course, here you can always count on a breeze. If it’s not windy out there, I don’t know how to walk. Ha Ha. Oh no to developing a spasm in your neck and shoulder. I hate the surprise mystery issues. I hope the PT can get that worked out for you. And try to stay cool.

@Austina that’s nice the pool has been just right in spite of the heat. Will rain head your way from Beryl?

We had the second round of Spanish Inquisition and anal probe of the house today. It was rather a zoo around here. My sister, her son and another son’s wife came to get some furniture we were getting rid of before moving. So they were here packing the back of a pickup. We ordered in pizza for lunch and the realtor, buyers and four inspectors showed up. Marty talked to them all a bit. I got good news from the roof inspection that it was fine but there were a few spots where footprints, etc. were there because it was hot the day they did the roof. My sister talks a lot so I missed what they were all saying in the basement. They HATED our sensor switch and it is a 3-way switch so Marty will have to switch that out. He put it in the door from the garage, it was great when you come in with hands full and the light just comes on. I heard them say two drains were slow. The contract has till the 11th to ask for repairs. I don’t think they can ask for cosmetic issues, but we will see. I’ll be SOOOOOOO glad once everything is done.

Take care.
Marcy

GM girls and happy terrific Tuesday!

@marcy I am glad round two of the Spanish Inquisition is over and darn about the sensor switch being not acceptable to the inspector. I know you will be glad when this is all over. Hang in there, you are almost there! Thank you for your continued well wishes for Tommy and now Bobby has a cold which I could have predicted. They will likely all get it. Darn. I hope your nieces are safe and sound in Houston. I hate hurricanes. I hope it is over and all is well. TG for generators. I mean I don't know what the future holds but electricity is critical and I wonder about the wisdom of electric vehicles taking over. I see mega problems in the future if this happens. I love that your sister has a raccoon family in her yard and that the kitties and raccoons enjoy staring at each other LOL.

@Austina thank you so much for your continued support and well wishes. Yes we are Chewy's favorite customers I think lol. They gave us 40 cans for free the other day. Thankful you have your pool to cool off in...we are in officially beastly hot weather. And I do not care for it. Big surprise lol. Just praying all the animals stay well and safe. We are getting thunderstorms the next five days or so and I am not looking forward to that at all. For the outdoor animals and for us. It can be very unsettling. I never liked thunder and lighting and I do not like the potential damage it can do

@canuk-gal hope your flight home was uneventful and you are relaxed and happy from your beautiful vacation

@Slickk happy heat wave...hope you are staying cool and your weather is better than ours

@bling_dream19 hope you are enjoying a lovely week

@MamaBee keeping you in our thoughts and prayers

@mrs-b I hope the PT does the trick and you can enjoy your time in California...stay cool and comfy

@springerspaniel hope you have good news to share soon

Hi everyone else! Hope all is well

So Beryl storm remnants are heading our way and we have thunderstorms predicted for the rest of the week into our weekend. And it is beastly hot right now. We are planning to cycle today because it may be the last cycling day for us for a long time due to the storms heading our way. The kitties are still eating knock wood but now Bobby caught Tommy's cold and they are both sneezing. Oy to the vey. The outdoor kitties are so cute and I hope they are OK in this heat. I am feeding them all day long practically and they have a good appetite knock on wood that continues. Fresca, Dr Pepper, Pepsi, Shasta, Sasha, Pepsi light and a few others whose names escape me at the moment. It's quite the group. And all waiting for me super early in the mornings. I have to get fully dressed before feeding them due to mosquitoes and so far it has been working out well to protect my body from bites. So far.

This AM Greg gave me the Dupixent and for the first time ever I had him inject my stomach as per my derm's rec due to my allergic reaction to it. David felt the stomach would be better able to handle all that liquid that Dupixent is. It's large volume and his explanation was that it is too much material for my arm to handle so we did the stomach today. We shall see. It is a painful shot but as long as it works I can handle the pain. It has to be injected in fat and Greg was like damn you have no fat to inject lol. I think it is easier to grab fat on the back of my upper arm than my tummy but hopefully it was enough fat and it works. Fingers crossed

Leaving you with two photos from yesterday...one day I want to be able to share this ice cream in person with the NIRDIs..have a good day. Stay cool and be well. XOXO

Hello lovelies

Just got our internet restored! Not that we were actually affected by the storm yesterday, but apparently the whole of Texas’ internet was down today!

Glad the inspections are done @marcy, it’s always nerve wracking having people trying to find something wrong with your home! Fingers crossed they don’t make any demands on you.

It’s great that Greg can administer your injections @missy, Colin would be hopeless, he’d flinch too much. Although of course, he wouldn’t have any problem finding fat on me for the injection site  Fingers crossed it keeps working and bringing you the relief you need. I hope the kitties are still eating and keeping their strength up. Sorry you’re getting the effects of Beryl and experiencing high temperatures, it was 97 degs here today.

We went to Costco, went to a different branch than our usual, and it was far less crowded. Colin managed to get the IPad he wanted, but with no internet today, hasn’t set it up yet.

We did go in the pool this afternoon, but it started to rain, so we came in.

Tomorrow is Colin’s birthday, good grief he’ll be 74 :oops2: how on earth have we got so old?

We’re not going out tomorrow as we’ll be going to Trivia in the evening, but we’ll be trying a new Italian place next week.

Hope you’re all safe and well lovely NIRDIs :wavey:

Hi NIRDI’s!

@missy I hope the kitties get over colds quickly. Between the heat and a cold, they probably aren’t feeling too good. Poor kitties. Yep, to the viability / longevity of electric vehicles and turbine power. The EV’s aren’t too practical for here. Generators are certainly handy. One of my nieces got power back, but the other one didn’t. She’s pregnant and has the toddler. I guess they went to a nearby library most of the day that has AC. Darn the remnants of Beryl are heading your way. Stay safe. Ouch to the shots in your stomach. I hope they work for you. I have a friend who gives them to herself, they are allergy shots. I don’t think I could do it.

@Austina welcome back to the internet. I bet a lot of Texas is impacted the hurricane. Happy Birthday to Colin tomorrow. I hope he enjoys his new iPad. Did he get the keyboard case with it? I finally tried one with this iPad and I didn’t know what I was missing.

We were in and out of the house today. We headed to the post office to turn in our change of address notice. Score. It wasn’t busy when we got there. One guy was working the counter. I get up there and instead of helping me, he gives me the form to fill out and then get back in line. Of course, by then the line was out the door. We were there over an hour.

This afternoon we can out to TBE and then tonight we went out to dinner.

In between errands, I got some work done. I’ve haven’t packed a thing for 3 days. I best get busy soon.

Take care.
Marcy
