@Niffler that is awesome you chased down the postman once to get your package. I swear I set by the window watching and hesitate to even go to the bathroom. You will be ready to tackle him when your pretty sunstone shows up - look out postman! That is awesome about the freezer with Haagen Daz ice cream, I bet security has seen that before though. Too cute.

@Scandinavian I hope you are relaxing some today.

@Jiimmianne maybe you’ll have a grand baby some day as well. I see you totally moving to France then. Of course that is only be a good NIRDI offering to take on someone’s bling if there is something bothering them about it. That’s impressive about that lip balm. I use vanilla Lip Smackers all the time.

@missy Happy Groundhog Day! I saw a meme saying they should announce they are making a new Groundhog Day movie and then of course re-release the original one. I don’t think weighted blankets would work for me; my sore toes and knees can’t take weight on them at all when I am sleeping (or trying too). I am sure you enjoyed visiting the rescues and how awesome Greg felt up to cooking. Is his pain going down? How are you doing? The 02-02-2020 is pretty cool, huh?

@Slick1 ha ha on weighing in on weighted blankets. That is great you like yours so much. Thank you for the kind words about the sunrise photo and on my heart ring. Good luck winning the Super Bowl pool and I truly hope the end is in sight for you.

@Tekate oh no - I hope you and John get better soon. I love reading about your diamonds over the years and how you want to pass them on; very cool. I agree with you and @Mamabean that the larger the stone the easier it is to see color. I used to wear tee shirts more often too but I can’t wear them to work (nor when I was teaching) so they kind of disappeared from my wardrobe. Autie will be very busy as a toddler but definitely a lot of fun. Yes, we were going to let NN go and she resigned first. It’s been nice without that constant battle. I didn’t realize they recommend no blankets for babies now to prevent SIDS. I would worry they get cold. A friend of our lost a baby that way; it was so awful.

@bling_dream19 Marty’s grandmother used to give me the stink eye all the time when she noticed I had new jewelry - spending her grandson’s money foolishly. Little did she realize her grandson can hold his own at spending money. I am sure most of us here on PS darn near tackle the delivery person when they bring us jewelry. Marty used to send me a sequence of pictures of his killer rabbit opening my package, pulling out the jewelry box, opening the box and then of course wearing my new bling.

I slept in until 7 this morning. I made us homemade biscuits which I covered in butter and ate 3 of them. Being the Super Bowl and all I ordered in pizza for lunch. Marty didn’t want more carbs since he ate 5 biscuits this morning she he made himself a lean hamburger and rice dish in his instapot.

I topped off the gas tank in my car. We are in the low 60’s but dropping to teens tomorrow with 5-8 inches of snow through Tuesday. Winter has returned.

I am working on a program about stellar evolution for an upcoming astronomy meeting.

Evening everyone! It is lashing with rain today where I am in the UK. My main job this weekend was starting to paint the bathroom and as I was starting with the ceiling I think I ended up wearing more paint myself.
Will be rewarding myself with a hot chocolate and spending the rest of the evening picking random bits of paint out of my hair!

Asking for suggestions for Marty:

A local medical institute is going to list Marty's gym as an affiliate. He is asking for suggestions or ideas what you'd want to see included in his blurb about his gym. What would you be looking for to get you interested in going to his gym?

Thanks for any ideas or suggestions.

@marcy I would be clear that the training is catered to one's specific individual needs.

And that you work with all levels from beginner to expert.

That the facility is top notch and that you go above and beyond to get results for your clients.

And of course list the hours, location, trainers expertise, cleanliness standards, any classes, extra features, cost, accessibility (public transportation, parking etc) and maybe if you offer specials ie two for one or if you take a year membership you get a special deal vs if you go month by month.

Good luck and it's exciting that Marty is going to be included as an affiliate at a local medical institute. Hopefully this is just the beginning!

I know what you mean about the blankets...I understand when they are newborn and not able to get themselves out of a tangled blanket...When Jackson was older I had to find a blanket with holes so in case Jackson wrapped himself up in it he could breathe through the holes... Jackson wore a moon suit that kept him warm but didn’t allow him to get off his back during the night when he was still under a year.

@marcy I always worry that exercising is too repetitive & this is a recipe for injury [I did some damage, but stopped before things got serious], so I want to know that the trainer knows what his routine does to the body and has lived to tell the tale of wear & tear. This means different things in various countries, in terms of qualifications etc., but it is also a personal position to tell.

@missy The Groundhog Day is the most mysterious holiday. March 1 must be second - it is about wearing a flower butonierre of red & white; I took the habit from this day.

I had a good weekend & I am properly swamped this week; there is new work & old & I hope I can followup on the ETAS idea here & these things keep me very distracted:


The flowers are everywhere, from the oldest tree [few] to nose level hedge & there is no way to put the hundreds of honney/mirrh scents in writing. The snow cap is beyond two thousand meters, I am at less than 1K & it gets just over 20C in the afternoon. By the end of April it will all be golden/red desert.

@Jimmianne thank you for your help re weighted blankets. Not sure if I am going to go for it. I am so sensitive to weight and at night often very warm. Still researching and thinking about it. I might be like @marcy that it might be too much weight on my legs (toe) but maybe I will keep my feet out of it and put it over my comforter. But the too warm factor comes into play. LOL I cannot make a simple decision. How are you enjoying your Sepkus collection? Family shot soon?

We enjoyed a nice Sunday. Walked a bit (each day a little further) and then relaxed at home with the kitties. And of course Greg is doing all his exercises for therapy throughout the day and icing still. Today I already finished 3 loads of laundry and folding and getting ready to work out and then later going for a short walk with Greg. It's supposed to reach the 50s F today. We shall see. I hope it does.
