Now I really did it :((

GM girls! Happy Daylight Standard Time and happy Sunday!

@marcy gorgeous sunrise photo. Gosh I am exactly the same. One or two degrees can make a huge difference to my comfort. Greg always jokes my comfort range is 78.1-78.7 lol or something like that. And sorry you're a high myope too. Ugh and double ugh. We definitely have not won the genetic lottery but I am grateful to be here so one day at a time. That's a sweet way to start your day...mimosalicious yummmm. Sadly I cannot drink alcohol at all anymore due to my alpha status but it's OK. I was always a "cheap" date that way haha. But I did enjoy a cocktail every now and then. No more. And now I have to be super anal about smoke. We ran into old friends yesterday while we were cycling and D was smoking and I had to ask him to put it out. I hate being *that* person but smoke could literally destroy my lungs now that I know what I know and the pulmonologist said secondhand smoke is my biggest enemy. But you know most people will just think oh she's high maintenance. Oh well. Luckily I don't care very much anymore what others think of me. I have to do what is best for me. D didn't seem miffed or anything but you never know. It was nice running into them nevertheless. As for camping as much as I love nature that is a big NO from me lol. I have never camped nor will I ever camp (voluntarily that is). I mean I guess if we get stranded I will have no choice. Let's hope that never happens lol. Sweet that soon six rings fit.

@Austina good, I hope that works out. It's great you are using solar for electricity. That is a very good way to go. Saves a lot of money. Electricity is crazy expensive. I cannot even look at our bills but then again I never did. Ignorance is bliss in this case. Hope your busy week ahead goes smoothly and is productive.

@canuk-gal aww I wish I could say come here and enjoy our weather. Next week (after Monday which is predicted to be 80F) our weather is turning cooler and we are predicted to have a harsh brutal winter so we might be right there with you in the thick of things. I do prefer mild temperatures over extremes either way but I do like summer better than winter. Haha big surprise. Hope your furniture rearranging went well. We really need to get all new furniture as the cats have destroyed our gorgeous white couches. But I keep putting it off as they will just destroy the new ones. Truly our house needs a good cleaning top to bottom. We have been remiss in keeping up with so many other things happening but I know we both feel better when things are organized and clean from top to bottom. Just need to get motivated and find some time and with winter coming we should have (hopefully) more time to do household chores etc.Glad you enjoyed a good chat with your sister and a dear friend. Sweet.

@bling_dream19 hope you have a super Sunday

@Slickk hope you are sleeping in that extra hour and enjoying it

Hi everyone else. Hope the weekend is going well. We are cycling today woohoo and looking forward to it...it's warm here. Crazy weather. Have a wonderful day and be well. XOXO

May your Sunday be filled with sweetness

@mrs-b new flavor...raspberry maple walnut omg :lickout:

HI:

NIRDI shout out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@missy and @Austina you have enviable temps. It is -14C at present and will be very cold overnight. More snow on the way as well. I sound like a broken record! At least I am not shovelling!!! I took out the snow globes.

@marcy I went to the mall that has a dozen jewellers and the least expensive quote I got for YG was 89 bucks. Tiffany was a lot more! LOL I am NOT a camper girl! The ony camping I want to do is the The Four Season Hotel!

I am a bit stiff from moving the furniture yesterday but I am glad it is done. We moved a very large area rug that did not suit its space. Now the room looks much larger and no one is tripping over the carpet! Speaking of carpets I need to put my winter mats in the car.

Sunday supper is turkey (butterball) and all the trimmings. My DS requested it!

Keep safe and warm folks!

cheers--Sharon

Hello lovelies

-14 !!! :oops2: Oy, that’s just unimaginable @canuk-gal. Even when we went to see the polar bears I don’t think it was as cold as that, and I felt like my bone marrow had frozen. I know you’re more prepared for it, but I’m not sure I could live in those temperatures. Yum to turkey and all the trimmings, our usual Christmas meal, but I’m sure by the time we’ve stuffed ourselves silly on the ship, we’ll probably be craving beans on toast. :lol:Keep safe and warm.

I don’t like being around smoke either @missy, so I don’t blame you for asking them to put it out. Whilst it’s their choice to pollute their lungs, smoke drifts, and it’s not your choice to inhale it. Oh no to the kitties ruining your lovely white couches.

$55 sounds pretty reasonable to resize your rings, $150 does not! Like @missy, I’m not an ‘outdoors’ roughing it kind of person. I’m sure some RVs are luxurious, but camping o_O Would it not be more economical to rent something when you needed it? I seem to recall your storage costs for your previous RV were pretty steep and you weren’t using it much.

It‘s been raining today, so no concrete pour, but someone turned up this afternoon and was measuring, so maybe tomorrow?

Colin contacted the pool people and told them the cost of installing the gas pool heater is a no go, and if we’d known that upfront, we wouldn’t have been talked in to it. He’s asked them to exchange it for a heat pump, which makes much more sense for us in terms of running costs and installation.

Busy week ahead for us, lots of things that can only be done more or less last minute.

Big love and hugs to you all :wavey:

HI:

@Austina I cannot tolerate these temps. Makes me quite upset/miserable. I won't even say how low it is supposed to get overnight this week...my brain is already exploding. And it is still snowing. Not much I can do about it, unless we move to Tahiti.

cheers--Sharon

GM girls! Happy terrific Tuesday! What a crazy day yesterday. Drove to Columbia and did a series of testing. And somehow, though we were both exhausted couldn't pass up the gorgeous day it was and we went cycling when we got back LOL. Got home from cycling as it was turning dark. But it was worth it. We enjoyed the day despite all the medical tests I had to endure.

And got ice cream too :)

@Austina thank you. Yes we are on the same page entirely. I always say do what you want as long as you do not affect me adversely and that includes smoking. A vile habit to be sure but I don't care if someone smokes. That is their decision. Just don't do it near me. And since my alpha diagnosis I am more vigilant about it.

@canuk-gal well it did hit 80F yesterday. I was sweating a little bit lol. Today is FREEZING in comparison. It dropped 25 degrees plus huge winds. If that is not crazy weather IDK what is lol. Anyway I hope all your snow is melting/gone and some milder temps are on the way. We are on a roller coaster weather wise and we have storms coming Friday to Saturday that are predicting 50 mph winds with 4" of rain. Oy to the vey. Just mainly stay safe and be well

@bling_dream19 @Slickk @marcy @springerspaniel @mrs-b hi there and hope all is going smoothly

@MamaBee how's Smokey doing? So happy you guys added a sweet kitten to your family. You will love her and she will be a source of comfort for David of that I am confident. Nothing like a sweet cat to love.

So we got to Columbia yesterday and first test (CT scan) went smoothly. Got to the second test (all in different buildings) and they were like where's your Covid test? I was like what? They said oh, your doctor should have informed you that you must do a Covid test and bring the results before we will see you. OMG I was ready to just leave. Greg and another woman there, who is a double lung transplant patient and who we met at the first test, (she too was doing a series of tests that day) had befriended me and they both convinced me to not throw in the towel. So we left the building to get a covid test and then we went back. Turns out a van outside the building was doing free rapid or PCR Covid tests. It was a pain in the neck. Because Columbia is a maze of buildings but with Denise's and Jackie's help (Jackie was the woman who administered my PFTs afterward) I somehow got the Covid test done and got back in time for my appointment. Each appointment was tightly scheduled so being late for one would make me late for all. And the PFTs took over an hour. Exhausting. But thanks to Denise and Jackie I did all my tests.

Then we rushed to the cardiac building (Jackie took us so we could get there quickly as there are shortcuts that are complicated so she took it upon herself to help me-so nice) and had the TTE. Long morning but somehow it all worked out and the traffic was almost nill.

On the way home to the beach house we passed a terrible car accident and the car was totally burned from the inside. All that was left was a rusty shell. I hope the people got out. That was the only traffic snag and we missed the brunt of it as all the ambulances were gone. It was a BAD accident. Always putting things in perspective.

My results are back from most of the tests but I cannot interpret them so will wait for my Dec 20th appointment telemedicine and discuss results with my pulmonologist. There is lung scarring which I am trying not to worry about. I remember the other pulmonologist I saw a few months ago who looked at my chest Xrays said that he saw some scarring but that is not uncommon in tall thin asthmatics. I did not focus on what he said at the time but for a minute to feel surprised I had scarring but he made it seem not worrisome. But of course I am worried. But pushing it from my mind til I see my pulmonologist and see what she has to say. Whew, sorry for the long post about this but it was a crazy day and it feels good to get it off my chest. Hahaha my chest.

OK so then cycling and ice cream. We went cycling Sunday and Monday (afternoon) and had ice cream both days. So I owe you a couple of ice cream pics.

Sunday sweet treats

Yummmm Monday

We were wearing summer cycling clothes yesterday!

On the way into the city (5AM) there was a full moon! It was also raining a bit so I apologize for the grainy pic. But still thought it worth sharing. Marcy I know you would have taken some gorgeous photos. It was dark and rainy and we were driving so I did the best I could.

Screen Shot 2022-11-08 at 6.45.41 AM.png

And the CT waiting room when we got there. Empty. Just how I like it

Screen Shot 2022-11-08 at 6.45.51 AM.png

And we made friends with a lovely woman and exchanged numbers. She had a double lung transplant 16 years ago. Wow and she is doing great. We are one year apart. It was a pleasant surprise making a new friend yesterday and I know we will keep in touch. She lives in Newark so she isn't that far from us. Maybe an hour or so.

Today is cold (high of 58F) and very WINDY. But we are looking forward to cycling and we will dress warmly. But yes it is COLD. Have a terrific Tuesday girls. Sending you lots of love. Enjoy and be well.

Oh and yesterday as I was in one of the waiting rooms my mom (who didn't know I had appointments) started texting me pics of my grandma and me. It was nice to get those photos as I was enduring the tests yesterday.

She sent me a dozen photos. LOL. I will share a few. This is my favorite. My grandmother and me.
I miss her.

Screen Shot 2022-11-08 at 6.58.13 AM.png

My grandma, grandpa and our first dog. My mom got him when she was pregnant with me. What a sweet brother he was. He really was the best dog ever. I still remember the heartache when he died. First time I ever saw my dad cry.

Screen Shot 2022-11-08 at 6.57.46 AM.png

And my sister and me.
Just a couple of Brooklyn girls

missyanddebbiecirca1970.jpg

I still remember losing those two front teeth. I'll share that story another day. It had to do with me being boy crazy though

Have a totally wonderful day girls and thanks for letting me share. The decades have flown by and seeing these pics have made me feel nostalgic. But of course I didn't know Greg at that time so would never want to go back in time. But I would so love to see my dog and grandma again. Even if just for a moment. Life is challenging and loved ones (including true friends) make it worthwhile and give it meaning.

@Daisys and Diamonds I am tagging you because I think you might enjoy some of the photos I shared above. Brooklyn girls. My grandma was the original Brooklyn girl of the family :)

Hello lovelies

Oh my goodness @missy, what a palaver! Glad you got it all sorted out in the end, but yes, I’d have thought if you needed a negative covid test, you’d have been told in advance! Try to focus on the other pulmonologist saying it’s not uncommon for people of your physique to show signs of scarring, and not on the what ifs. I know that’s easy for me to say, but I’m a great believer in trying not to worry until you know for sure there’s something to worry about. Thank you for posting the lovely photos of your grandparents, is that Bea? She looks so happy and vibrant.

Hi @Daisys and Diamonds, hope all is well with you.

I’m not surprised the weather is affecting you @canuk-gal, I’d be miserable in that cold. We complained in the summer that it was way too hot, but rather that than snow. Keep warm.

Still no concrete, we learned today they were waiting for the Inspector to come, and hey presto, he turned up and gave the all clear for the concrete. So hopefully tomorrow.

We both had dental appts yesterday, it was the earliest appt we could get, and we really needed a check up, as our last ones were before we left, so over a year ago. The new dentist is lovely, and there were just the two of us there (as patients), so hopefully no risk.

Other than that, lots to do tomorrow, and then we’re off on Friday, so I may not check in for a couple of days.

Sending love and hugs to you all :wavey:

Hi NIRDI’s!

@missy LOL we have the same comfort range for temperatures. What are we going to do? We did not win the genetic lottery but then again - like you - I am grateful every day for what I have. I don’t enjoy a cocktail too often but still like one with dinner when we go out. I am with you on second hand smoke, some people are just oblivious to someone being down wind from them. When my mom was still here, I was sure not shy to ask someone to not smoke around her. I just generally move. Glad you got more miles on your bike. Yay. Great pictures of the family. Ugh to more testing, hoping results are good and find some answers for you. I hate to hear about scarring in your lungs. Glad you still got to ride when you got home. And mmm more ice cream. That accident sounds awful, yes I hope the people got out safely. Nice to make a new friend.

@canuk-gal sounds like you found a variety of prices on ring sizing. I felt like I hit the jackpot finding a place that would do YG for $55. I am thinking of contacting Tiffany about what they can do to size my Etoile band. I doubt they can, but who knows what they will tell me. I know sizing beads would work. I think the store is Denver closed. I still need to get my diamond ring to Whiteflash and think I’ll get my YG studs moved to platinum. They are kind of starting to itch my ears, if I polish the posts they are okay for a while but thought I could just move them easy enough since I’m sending in my ring. Sorry it is so cold and snowy there. I often think we’d be living somewhere warmer by now, if Marty hadn’t started the gym. Darn!!! We have some of the cold white stuff coming in again tonight. Wind has been nuts here. A spot north of here had 111 mph gusts last weekend. Poor semis were on the side everywhere on the highways. We have the EXACT same idea of camping.

@Austina looks like none of us NIRDS’s are campers. I suggested renting but Marty seems to prefer having his own camper. I am kind of glad he is focused on something to distract him and keep him busy. We went and looked about about five campers today. I keep reminding him - don’t base your choice on if I will go with you. Our 40 foot 5th wheeler was nice enough and big enough, I didn’t mind it at all. These smaller ones - not so much. And yes, storing it will be pricey. Our HOA won’t even let us park them in the driveway. Darn the concrete couldn’t be poured for the pool. Nice to get some rain. Good idea to get a heat pump.

@daisy and Diamonds I hope you are doing well.

Since I posted I’ve been working, stressing, getting agitated and looking at RV’s. Still busy for a retired old lady. The stressing is from I finally got someone to answer the phone at the doctor’s office. I swear his worthless office gal must be a relative, I don’t see how she remains employed. Reminds me of some of my former employees. Anyway, she couldn’t find where the test had been submitted or if results were back. So she said she’d talk to the doctor when he was done with patients and call me back. You guessed it, no call. I called the next morning and the doctor answered the phone. He had no idea I called the day before but promised to check on where it was and call me back. About 90 minutes later he called back and apparently the lab had paperwork they requested he fill out and me sign so he was getting it faxed to him and said he’d call me later. I’d bet money, they called the office before and that girl didn’t do anything about it. He called me about 4 and I ran over and signed the paperwork. It basically is a form that justifies and describes why the test needs done and also that if insurance doesn’t cover it, that I’m okay with paying the cost. He faxed it back while I was there. Results could come in 2 to 14 days.

I was so ticked off when I talked to her and she couldn’t find anything in my file that I’m sure my BP went up. A friend of mine bought us supper and came over for cards. That helped.

As for RV’s, I am sure Marty will end up getting something. We liked the layout of one of them today but it’s used and we both think it’s a better idea to buy new. I keep reminding him, I probably won’t go with him often. But at least he is being considerate to get something that works for two of us rather than just one.

I have four rings that fit me now. Yay. It’s nice.

Take care.
Here are two lovely sunrises.

GM girls and happy terrific Thursday!

@Austina yes that is my grandmother Bea. She was the most beautiful person I knew. On the inside pure gold. Truly an incredible individual and I know while I am biased I am being objective here. Her soul was pure goodness.

Glad you like your new dentist and I hope the concrete comes today.

@marcy I don't blame you for being ticked off. That blows. It's incredible how poorly others do their job and we suffer. Good luck with Marty's RV choice. That does take lots of gas right? We only have one car and we are debating getting an electric car if I decide I want my own car. Too bad I cannot see well though and maybe it's better for everyone if I am not driving haha. Though my new glasses arrived and while they are super strong and a BIG change from all my other glasses I can see more clearly with them so will wear those if driving. Yay for four rings fitting and here's hoping more will fit soon.

@bling_dream19 good morning and happy Thursday girl!

@Slickk hope your week is going very well and tomorrow is FriYAY!

@canuk-gal hope the snow has stopped and warmer temps are coming.

Good morning @springerspaniel I hope your week is going smoothly and you are planning a fun weekend.

@mrs-b hope you and Tim are feeling well and enjoying autumn to the fullest. Thinking of you.

@rainwood I hope you are having a wonderful visit and I am looking forward to catching up with you.

@Daisys and Diamonds aww thank you. Yummm dairy free. Glad you were able to catch up with the truck Nicky. Thanks for sharing and hope you are having a terrific week.

Hi everyone else. We've been cycling, eating ice cream and freezing lol. It's winter here and despite the temps stating 50s F it feels like 30s to me due to the high winds. Tomorrow the storm is coming from Fla and we are going to get beaten up. Sigh. Keeping fingers crossed no damage is done. We are cycling today before the storm arrives and hopefully looking forward to a safe and happy weekend. Big hugs to all.

May your Thursday be filled with sweetness :)

Good morning girls! Hi to everyone and happy FriYAY!
I hope everyone is well.

We enjoyed a milder cycling day yesterday. And now the storms are arriving soon.
We went out on the new bike yesterday. It was great. Defnteily a better ride than the other bike we had been riding.
And Greg is on the way to pick up (finally lol) our replacement frame.
Just a few pics from yesterday and I am wishing you all a very happy FriYAY!

@springerspaniel I took this photo yesterday cycling on our way back home. Our tree is looking good. Very autumn like :)

HI:

NIRDI shout out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am exhausted from a very hectic work week. Had one particularly horrendous afternoon. Slept very badly last night, so didn't have the energy to attend any Remembrance Day service today. Stress, I guess. Sent the DH for some takeout.

At least the weather has warmed up. Technically not "warm" but at least not -20C. Bright blue sky and the Rockies are snow white! I am meeting my friends tomorrow for a nice lunch, my treat this time!

Started the latest season of the Crown.

@missy glad your new rides are fine! I got the replacement spike parts for my Olang boots, and man are they tough to replace! Not easy like the videos show! Anyway.

@Austina have a great holiday!

Stay safe and well folks!

cheers--Sharon

Inbound flight has arrived, so fingers crossed we’ll be flying tonight

Sorry you’ve had an awful week @canuk-gal, hopefully a quiet weekend for you.

Big love and hugs to you all :wavey:

Have a safe trip @Austina!
Hi everyone else! I've been occupied by my current research project, so have not been able to come up for air for awhile. Studying for statistics exam next week and then we are off to New Zealand. Woo hoo!!!!!!

Good morning girls! Happy wonderful weekend and Caturday Saturday!

@canuk-gal ooh that does look to be difficult. I would have to let Greg replace the spikes for me lol. I haven't yet worn my spikes out but I do have four (or 5?) pairs of Olang Glamour boots and I rotate. I am glad you are ready for the snow and ice. We are off cycling today but coooold weather is coming and well let's just say I am not sure when we will be cycling next week if at all. Be safe and enjoy a wonderful weekend

Safe travels @Austina and have a terrific trip!

@springerspaniel good luck on your statistics exam. I love that subject and it was one of my favorite courses in college. And woohoo New Zealand! I have a friend who lives there and I would love to be able to visit her one day. Enjoy this trip of a lifetime, you deserve it!

Hi everyone else. Yesterday was errand day as it was raining and Greg also picked up our new replacement frame so now we have three tandems to ride if we need to...two backups lol. Today we are cycling before the freezing weather arrives. I hope everyone enjoys a lovely weekend and a meowalicious meowvalous Caturday Saturday., Have a Purrrrrrrrrrrfect day XOXO

In honor of Caturday Saturday here's Fresca enjoying our, umm I mean her, property :)
and hanging out with Pierre the Penguin

Hello lovelies

We’ve arrived, and more importantly, so did the luggage! Of course, Colin’s case was the last one off the carousel, but I always pack half and half in each case, and fortunately we have a couple of days here in case of any delays.

Flight was fast and we arrived early, got through immigration speedily so were at the hotel really quickly. We’d paid for early check in, so all in all, a relatively hassle free journey. Apart from our pick up driver not turning up. When Colin rang him, he said he’d fallen asleep and would be with us in 45 mins. Colin told him (not very politely), not to bother, and our lovely neighbour came to the rescue and got us to the airport in plenty of time.

Have a fabulous time in NZ @springerspaniel, how funny we’re both going to be so far from home and in the same part of the world! Good luck with the exam, I’m sure you’ll ace it.

Glad Greg got the new bike frame @missy, but ugh to the weather stopping you from cycling. It’s actually going to be colder in Tx than in the UK next week! It thrashed down yesterday, so a very soggy trip to the airport, but we made it. We also had a flight booked for Sunday, in case of any cancellations (of which there have been many by BA), and I didn’t want Colin to cancel it until we’d arrived. He’s just done that, so hopefully we won’t have to wait forever to get our money back.

We’re seeing our friends tomorrow, who‘re coming on the trip with us, we have seen them for over a year! Then Monday and Tuesday, we’re seeing our friends who visited recently, so a busy few days.

Funnily enough, while we were waiting at the carousel, I said to Colin that it didn’t feel like we were coming ‘home’ this time, just visiting.

Have a great weekend lovely NIRDIs :wavey:

Have fun @Austina !!! I am feeling excited for you and that’s the truth! Enjoy your friends!

Have a safe trip @Austina!
Hi everyone else! I've been occupied by my current research project, so have not been able to come up for air for awhile. Studying for statistics exam next week and then we are off to New Zealand. Woo hoo!!!!!!

How fun!!!!! The trip not the exam....LOL, but know it will be a cakewalk for you. Travel well!

HI:

NIRDI shout out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like you are having fun already @Austina !! Glad everything is going to plan.

@missy stay warm and dry!!!! Actually my DH did one boot for me! I'm surprised as his hands are rather arthritic, but he carried on! I'm glad it's done as I need the spiked soles and don't wear those boots on the smooth side/sole. While I didn't love Stats, I didn't hate it either. Found it very useful, of course, when I worked in research.

@marcy you guys have snow?

Nice to have leftovers from yesterday's takeout/haul. That said I am having high tea with my friends today--so I won't be eating at home anyway. But my DH will need a bite. And I am looking forward to poking around downtown. I am going to try and steer clear of those Cuccinelli cashmere sweaters!! (not sure how successful I'll be....)

cheers--Sharon

GM girls and happy Sunday!

@canuk-gal I hope you enjoyed tea with friends and your DH enjoyed the leftovers. I love leftovers.YUmmm.
It was very warm yesterday here...hit 75F! OMG. But now the next 10 days are predicted to be below normal temps...meteorologist said it will feel like December the rest of November. Great. LOL. Off cycling today tho it is much colder than yesterday. We enjoyed the warm weather while it lasted.

Hi everyone else. Hope you are having wonderful weekend and a super Sunday.

Ice cream was on the house yesterday...thanks Jimmy!
Somehow it's even sweeter this way :)

Hi ladies. :))

Just letting you know I'm still here - but rarely. I pop onto PS a little each day, but my back is now so bad, I'm having problems sitting in a seat and typing for any significant period of time. The times I feel better and am more comfortably mobile, I try to get out of the house immediately.

I hope you're all well, enjoying fall, and gearing up for Thanksgiving.

I'm sending you all hugs and warm thought. oxo. <3

Hi NIRDI’s!

No, I haven’t heard anything yet. Sigh. But I’ve scared myself silly reading things by Dr. Google.

@missy pulling a RV will certainly be bad on gas mileage. Electric cars wouldn’t be too practical in the wilds of Wyoming. When you are close to charging stations, it might be way more practical. Marty wants to drive an EV Porsche, they are supposed to be rockets. Glad your new glasses are good for you. I am with you on questionable vision. Twilight is my worst time. Tell your friend great pictures of the lunar eclipse. I like his presentation. Thanks to him for sharing. Glad you and Greg are getting in more miles in the chilly weather. I put on a vest and down coat to walk across the street to get my mail. Of course, I’m always cold. Nice for having two backups now for your tandem. There’s not stopping you now!

@canuk-gal sorry you had such a rough week last week and couldn’t sleep. Glad you met up with some friends. We had a light covering of snow - since it was coming down sideways, I think most of it blew to Nebraska or Colorado. More on the way later this week. How is the white stuff piling up there?

@Austina safe travels and have a great time. Glad your luggage showed up as well. Enjoy catching up with your friends.

@springerspaniel ugh to a statistics test. You’ll ace it! I spent the most time on statistics in college of all my other classes combined. I was determined to get an A though! Safe travels on your trip.

@mrs-b I am so sorry to hear your back is so bad. Sending you mega dust to feel better soon. Keeping you in my thoughts.

I’ve been non-retired working and laughing that I put in so many hours. Keeps me off Dr. Google.

We looked at more travel trailers this weekend than I ever wanted to see. Of course, it’s pay back for all those jewelry stores Marty has been dragged to over the years. Speaking of jewelry, I am taking my rings to Denver Friday to get sized. I have about 4 rings already sized so it’s nice to have rings that don’t spin around on my hand.

A friend of mine is going with me. She wants a new wedding set and is looking at lab created diamonds. We spent a few hours at the mall this weekend with her looking. Her husband seems disinterested and she is full of should I or shouldn’t I buy something? I’m staying out of it. She keeps trying to find bargains. I kind of gently say, get what you want. I’ve had jewelry boxes full of buying things I didn’t really like or I just settled on. She found a 1.5 carat oval she really liked. I can’t say I’ve look at lab created diamonds before, they look very nice.

Kays has returned all my rings except my tsavorite garnet. I’m worried the garnet got cracked in resizing. They shorted my bracelet too much so I sent it back, when I shows up I am asking questions. I got that garnet at the Tucson gem show; it would be hard to replace.

I had another night of being awake more than being asleep. Fun!

Laters,
Marcy

GM girls! Happy terrific Tuesday!

@marcy haha yes I hear you and you are so right. Electric cars are only a good idea where there are charging stations around. I definitely see it would not work near you. Speaking of cold weather and vests Greg just bought me another heated vest to try while cycling. It is freezing here. We went hiking yesterday because I just couldn't bear the thought of cycling with the high cold winds. But I am hesitant to try the heated vest due to one my diseases that cause bleeding in the capillaries when my body gets warm. It's crazy. I don't feel warm but last time I used a heated vest the capillaries where it touched my skin. I am like a walking science project  and I know you get it (unfortunately)....any medical updates? I hope your physicians are in communication with you and all is going as well as possible. Ugh to being awake more than asleep. I get that unfortunately. Sounds like fun looking at bling with your friend and haha yes we have all been there I think...jewels that go unworn and unloved. I hope your friend can find something she loves that her DH doesn't hate (or that breaks the bank). Oh no I hope your garnet did not get cracked. Fingers crossed it is fine. And boo to shortening your bracelet too much. How did they mess that up. Grrr. LOL yes to working keeping you off Dr Google. Keep on laughing and working and stay away from Dr Google. Haha yes pay back for all the jewelry stores you dragged Marty to...I hope you both find a travel trailer you love and agree upon getting. Big hugs to you Marcy

@mrs-b I am so sorry you are dealing with continuing pain. I keep you in my thoughts daily and am sending healing vibes to you and warm hugs right back at ya dear friend. Praying you have a happy and healthy holiday season. XOXO

@Slickk can you believe the holidays are almost here? So fast. I hope all is well and you and the family are well. Big hugs

Hi @bling_dream19 @canuk-gal @MamaBee @Austina @springerspaniel @rainwood (yay for a wonderful visit) and everyone else. I hope everyone is staying warm and comfy and healthy

We had a busy day yesterday. I did lab work in the very early AM. Then we went hiking. And then I had a doctor visit with my parathyroid specialist which went OK but she is stumped now too. So all my doctors are stumped. I am great at stumping my doctors which does not make me happy lol. She had a resident there too because I am so (medically) interesting. Great. Just praying my latest lab results don't give me a heart attack when I receive them. I am pretty nervous about the results but one day at a time is the best I am going to do so that is what I continue to do. I am sure there is a place in the medical history books for me. Not something I want to happen but something that I am sure one day will. LOL have to laugh because the alternative is not appealing

We had a great hike yesterday and the sun came out and warmed things up a bit and once we got started I warmed up pretty quickly. Today Greg wants to try cycling whileI wear the new heated vest. I feel like hiking might be a better option as it is even colder (and windier) today. No heated vest while hiking but if we go cycling yes I will try it. But we shall see what we end up doing. I am just happy I didn't have to get out of bed super early today to do lab work like yesterday. Rejoicing in the small pleasures. Coffee in bed. Ahhhh

Leaving you with some photos from our hike yesterday. Enjoy and be well girls. XOXO

The autumn colors are fading but we found some lovely vibrant colors during our hike but I bet next week there will be very little vibrancy left and bare trees will dominate the landscape.

Look at this gorgeous maple. Just wow

I had to bring out my winter coats yesterday. :)

Have a terrific Tuesday girls!! ((((HUGS))))

Hi NIRDI's!

@missy gorgeous fall leaves; love the colors. It does look cold. I get why you don't want to wear a heated vest. I do agree about being a walking science project. We give our assorted doctors something to think about! They better like a challenge. Big hugs to you! Thanks for the big hug. I appreciate it. No word from the doctor. And no new charges in my insurance account. One more day down. I know you don't sleep well, wish that could get fixed. Best wishes to you on all your tests and appointments. Nice you got to go on a lovely hike. One day at a time . . .

Had another very short night. I might stay up late tonight to watch the Artemis 1 launch. Don't now yet. I generally am falling asleep by 10 our time. It was frigid here today and very windy. I need to get gas and drop off a box at FedEx and decided to wait until tomorrow. It will be in the 20's instead of the teens.

@canuk-gal I see a big snow storm might be heading your way before it dips down my way. Darn!

Take care.
Marcy

GM girls and happy wonderful Wednesday!

@marcy thank you. Our weather is the same. Frigid and windy. We went cycling yesterday and the heated vest was wonderful. I highly recommend and it if you are interested let me know. Greg got it on Amazon. Really helped and we went cycling despite the cold windy day woohoo. Sorry you had a short night. I actually slept well last night which is unusual lol. So well I didn't wake up to take my meds in the middle of the night but that's fine by me. Sleep is more valuable. I am so sorry you are dealing with the same medical merry go round. I hope you hear from your physician soon and the news is good. Yay for no new charges on the insurance account. I keep holding my breath not wanting to know...Greg keeps me shielded and honestly while years ago I would have protested now I don't want to know. What can I say? I know you get it. Big hugs always and thinking good thoughts for you.

Hi everyone else. We had a good cycling day yesterday. Greg convinced me to go and the new electric heated vest did the trick. I had heat pads in my mittens, heated vest for my core and wind proof cycling pants. The only cold part of me were my feet and Greg is getting me electric socks now lol. I always wear a soft terry face mask while cycling in the cold weather and hat under my helmet and hood over it. Take that winter

Temps were in the 40s all day but with the wind it felt like the 30s. Brrrrr
But it is beautiful. All the seasons here have something wonderful to offer and that is coming from someone who isn't in love with the cold weather. I do appreciate all the seasons...and while the month says autumn the temps say winter.

I hope everyone is well and all is going smoothly. Sending you lots of love and well wishes.

Hello lovelies from a hot and muggy Singapore

We made it!!! 5 years in the making and we’re finally here. Everything went without a hitch, the first leg of the flight London to Dubai, passed very quickly. I had the actor, Richard E Grant sitting in the next pod to me  We were met from the plane and escorted to the lounge at Dubai airport - just as well because I doubt we’d have negotiated our way there, it’s huge. Had about 1 1/2 hrs before reboarding, and then slept/dozed all the way to Singapore. Luggage was off before we got to the carousel, drivers waiting, arrived at the hotel and went and had afternoon tea. The only downside is that I’ve picked up a UTI, but stopped by a pharmacy on the way to the plane, and they were able to give me some AB’s, so hopefully it’ll all be cleared up soon.

Sorry to hear you’re struggling @mrs-b, what can I say, other than I hope there’s some resolution soon.

Phooey to still not having the results back @marcy, how long are you supposed to be waiting?

Glad you were able to still ride despite the cold temps @missy, you sound as though you were well kitted out with all your heated accoutrements!

Sorry to be brief, but I’m struggling to stay away. Will catch up when I can :wavey:

GM girls! Happy Thursday!

@Austina so glad you have arrived safely and I hope you have a fantastic time! And that you are sleeping well making up for what you lost during travel.

Hi girls! It's been breezy and chilly here and today is no exception. We went hiking yesterday and today we are going cycling. Wish us luck lol. Brrrrr

Leaving you with a few photos I took yesterday. After our hike we ended up at the ocean. So beautiful and cathartic
