I LOVE #3. Have you made a final choice yet???

Haha no, I'm horribly horribly indecisive...
Right now I'm thinking #2 with the softly sparkling satin finish, like in the set I posted from her website. Thoughts?

I love #2. It''s classy but not fussy.

I like two and three the best but if you''re looking for something different one is also nice and very unique.

I like #1 and #3 they have a nice fluid swirliness about them. I think they will look great in either setting.

Love the satin finish ... love #3 & #4 the best ... What happened to that ring? Why are you bagging the ring to make a pendant? Maybe I missed a step!

I like the items with the satin finish you posted. I think that will make the pendant "stand out" and yet it''s subtle!

This is so exciting. Thanks for sharing with us!

Haha, so I bought the pink spinel second hand, it was a steal for the stone alone. The bezel is closed back, and not done well enough to prevent dirt and things from getting back there, which drives me NUTS, so I''m having it reset. :)

Here''s number 2 with my (bad photoshop) attempt at a satiny silver finish, lol. I''m liking it!

I LOVE LOVE the satin finish look! your stones will be super sparkly with that one!

I like #4 because i think it is the most opulent of the bunch IMO, and I like symmetry of it because I like symmetry in everything. #1 is too asymmetric for me, but if you like that, then I can see that being a good option as well.

Ooo I like #2 and the satin finish! How beautiful it will be!!

Thank you packrat!
I have to say, designing a pendant is both more difficult, yet more fun than figuring out a ring! So may directions you can go in!

This is a piece from her etsy shop that I really like. It''s just too big and busy for me personally to wear, but I like looking at it!

#3 is beautiful. You could also have two separate pendants made. This example you posted from her site could have the leafy sides scaled back so one of your spinels is the centerpiece and the green stones are smaller and replaced with white, light green or another complementary color. Good luck :)

Call me crazy, but the more I look at #3, the more it looks like the spinel is wearing a stethescope, lol.

I like 2 the most.

lol-I really enjoy the process those of you that do pendants go thru! It''s actually making me think of resetting my fire opal pendant!

hahaha, maybe that is the reason I am leaning toward #3. But really, no matter what it will be a lovely piece!

LOL! I totally see it now! Her work is lovely! Great find on a new designer for PS folks to drool over.

Thanks for all the input guys! It really helps to hear some outside opinions and bounce things off other people!

I decided on #2, with the satin finish because I love flow, I love how the oval spinel will hang freely and have some movement, and because it seems more versatile (I can wear it with jeans, or a nice dress without it looking out of place).

I won't be able to mail the stones out until next week, and she's pretty busy, but hopefully I'll have something to share with you guys in a month!
It's a long wait, but I'll bet it's worth it! In the mean time, I have the WF flower pendant coming my way next week to tide me over until this custom pendant is done, so that I don't just collapse from anticipation, lol.

Thanks again for all the help!

All 4 styles are different:
1. Modern and curvy
2. A more simple style
3. Antique (my first choice)
4. Another lovely antique-y feel (my second choice)

The pendant is going to be gorgeous!

Well, since you (too) are starting to see the funny side of #3 I have to say that it reminded me of some sports trophy the first time I saw it (with the handles on each side)

BTW, since the cushion won''t be tightly set, but will have some empty spaces around it (between the stone and the metal), you could suggest her doing the same with the oval to make it a bit more interesting; it could, for example sit in the middle of a delicate marquise shaped frame, which would hang freely from the top section. Just a thought.

Thanks Mr. Ma Re. Haha, a sports trophy huh?
Yeah, my personal tastes (for wearing anyways) are towards simple designs to be honest. I love to admiring pretty and fancier pieces, but it''s hard to pull off with my typical outfit of jeans and a tank top, lol.

MTG, pls ignore my silly question in the etsy thread, I didn''t realize you''d already started a thread here

I vote for number 2 with that lovely satin finish - but also add one of the gold dots onto the very bottom -

Another vote for #2

Im still stuck on liking #1, though I understand your point about wanting it to move freely. I just love that its symmetrical w/o being overly so. Is there an alteration she could make to it that would allow the stone to move but still let the piece be balanced? (The suggested alterations to #2 got me thinking.)

Hehe, I don''t know how I feel about the dots. Wouldn''t it look odd for a gold dot on an otherwise silver pendant?

And I like 1 as well, I might keep the design in mind for a future project with future stones. I love the light airy colors of these spinels, which is why I wanted to be more movable and less stiff.

I like the idea of a two tone look with some gold accents. Barbara Bixby, a designer (you can see her work on Pearlman''s) does this, and it is quite lovely. She''s influenced by Asian design.

Haha, I just adore Julia, even after I settled on a design and told her I had made a decision, she still sent me another design anyways. I love that she takes that pride in her work and customer satisfaction!

Here's the new sketch, she tried to combo 2 and 3 which were the 2 I told her I liked best. Thoughts?
